Upgrade 11.09 installed isn't working

Windows automatic update installed newest version of Reader. It's not working, so it was uninstalled, downloaded from Adobe, and re-installed. And it's still not working at all. Any suggestions? (Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit system)

Please delete the 'preferences' folder from the location below and check.
C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0
If that does not work then try to uninstall the software using cleaner tool and then re-install it.
Also try to create a new admin user account and launch the software from there.

Broken CS 5.5 Design Standard Disc & Direct Link Install isn't working

My Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard disc isn't working and from my prior contact with Adobe, I was given the following links to help me install the program:

As I have made multiple attempts, (and the .7z link no longer works - Access Denied) all I can reason is that perhaps I was incorrectly given the "Design Premium" link rather than the appropriate "Design Standard" link. Otherwise, I cannot figure out what I need to do differently to get this install to begin. Any ideas?

those links are incorrect. one is for design standard and one is for design premium. they both must match, premium or standard depending on which you want.
in either case, if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

Failed TM backup after Mavericks upgrade via clean install. Nothing works incl. "tmutil" command. The time points appear but not clickable.

I upgraded to Mountain Lion via clean install. Restoring my data via migration assistant failed. Then I tried Time Machine. Altough I can see all backup time points no one is active. Then I tried to inherent and to associate the backups to the "new" disk, but it didn´t work.

Hit the nail on the head Eric, I have quite a lot in there due to system age, so turned them all off and had a nice fast system returned with no hanging.
so definately something in the startup group and i will try each at a time and see where the problem comes from..
Looking at more logs my guess is the problem will be with one of -
sabnzbd
sickbeard
both of which starting on login, both using databases and im seeing sql errors on startup...
more info when i have enabled/disabled some more apps.

Upgrade ML and iMessages isn't working!

I just bought via iTunes ML and everything work fine with the exception of iMessages.
I tried several things I read on the community but nothing seems to work. Some other I haven't tried it becuase I'm not an expert and I can't find the section mentioned.
Sorry but I need a step-by-step.

I must admit this is getting to be like the issue with iChat 3 when Tiger was released.
Apple had changed the way Video and Audio Only data packets were sent across the internet (Compared to iChat 2).
It was not a big change but did involve needing access through some Backbone Servers on the internet - which in turn needed to be set up by those controlling their portion of the backbone.
On one of only two times it has happened Apple released and Update to iChat outside of the OS Updaters that it normally comes with.
Apple Developers around the world had not picked up on the issue, presumably because they are interested in testing whether their apps work in a new OS.
The whole of the Eastern United States seemed to be effected ( a line east of the Mississippi north to Chicago)
I know that 4 or 5 of the regular posters in the iChat Forums of the time were contacted by a Host and details were forwarded to engineers. (That particular Host has since left Apple).
Basically the issue at the time seemed to effect many people and almost nothing done or suggested by the regular posters worked.
It took lots of detective work by Apple to work out the issues was not actually the app but the lack of set up in servers on the internet.
Due to the amount of built in redundancy some of the suppliers of the backbone part of the internet stated they did not now which servers were effected.
This caused Apple to change the app's data packet delivery system.
Seeing the current issue seems to be effected by DNS servers, Date and Time settings, delivery to and from the Apple Servers it is beginning to look like and issue in between App and server.
One more recent "Fix" that someone has come across is re-setting the Apple ID password if it does not conform to the current Apple "suggestions"
I would still keep it to 16 characters or Less if it is an @me.com or @iCloud.com ID that can be used and a Valid AIM Screen Name as well.
Other than that I have nothing else at the moment.

You have to download and RUN the iPhoto library upgrade - then launch iPhoto - If you had iPhoto '08 or earlier (version 7.x.x) - the upgrade is installed in the utilities folder of your Applications folder

Upgraded to windows 7 now my Base System Device and Fingerprint Reader isn't working!

I recently upgraded from Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Ultimate and my Base System Device and Fingerprint Reader isn't working. I've tried reading advice off of some forums here and even checked out what I can download from this site and also tried updating but each time it either says could not find updates, or when I try dowloading from this site it says the program may have not installed correctly. I'm stuck I don't know what else I can do, can someone help, I would appreaciate it greatly!

Ah if only life were so simple. I have been without a soundcard ever since upgrading to Windows 7, have spent hours on the Lenovo site trying to locate a driver, filling in all those little boxes, time after time to no avail. The drivers, if they exist at all, are being kept secret. There can be no other explanation. Have the same problem with the fingerprint thingy, but not bothered as the kids had learnt to bypass it anyway.
Enjoying windows 7 in complete silence. If anyone wants to advise downloading a driver then fantastic, but give us a clue where it is hidden.

It's our internal applicant tracking systems (resume database). It works fine in IE and all previous verisons of FF but in FF 7 a bubble icon pops up stating that "Please fill out this field".
The field is not required but states "Require all of these words" if you to run a search based on those parameters.

I think not. You will need to order a disc from Apple quoting your serial number, as many of these discs are machine specific. So unless you can get your drive working I think you will have to take a trip to an Apple store.
Indeed, you have an old computer that may not be worth the cost of repair ... but it is still worth seeking Apple advice and a visual inspection. It just might be something not too drastic.

Greetings: I have just acquired an older mini mac (2006 1.66 ghz core 2 duo) Anyway, it had Tiger 10.4 on it and the Bluetooth worked. I upgraded to Snow Leopard and everything works fine - except Bluetooth. The Bluetooth icon isn't there. Any ideas?

The Bluetooth icon does not exist in the System Preferenc screen.
I tried to download Bluetooth from Apple site but the message I got told me that I didn't need it.
Under Finder, Utilities, I found Bluetooth File Exchange but the message I got was that I had to connect a Bluetooth device to my computer.
I have to admit that I have no idea what's going on here. I am hoping to avert the need to try another complete re-install of Snow Leopard.
Any ideas?

Thanks Barry - I found the file and trie to send it to trash. The response: (This item cannot be trashed as it it owned by the system).
After dancing around with PRAM and SMC and turning on while holding the power-cntrl-option-shift and heavens knows what else, I now have the Bluetooth symbol on the top of the menu bar but it is ghoseted and has a squiggly line through it. This, I didn't have before so I read this as some progress. It notes that "Bluetooth is not available">
However, the Bluetooth icon is still missing from the System Preferences window - you know, between "network" and "sharing".
You note that you reckon the issue is not software based and you may be correct. The reason that I wonder about that though, is that before I installed Snow Leopard, the keyboard and mouse both paired with the box under the Tiger 10.4. That leads me to conclude that hardware is functional and that there is some screwy little bit of software that is not cooperating.
If I could delete Bluetooth from the system and re-install a fresh version, that might help. Or, is there a way I can use the Snow Leopard install disc and only load in Bluetooth?
I'm stumped.

And have you run the iPhoto Library Upgrader after you installed it? First run it, to prepare your iPhotLibrary for upgrading, and then launch iPhoto again to complete the upgrade of your library.
