Upgrade JSP based PCR forms to Adobe based PCR forms
Hi
We have JSP /htmlb based PCR forms in MSS. we would like to upgrade the JSP forms to Adobe based forms
I have gone through the avaible pdf for upgrade JSP to Adobe on sdn.
As mentioend in the document I have created a Adobe form layout on in backend under SFP transaciton .Added that form to the exisiting ISR scenario .OADP is already configured for the same scenario. Now how should I integrate this to portal so that instead of portal component it will call the Adobe form
Any help document or guide for the same.
Thanks

Hi
Any help on the above

Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms Differences
I am aware there are two offerings of Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms: Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms, and Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms "ST". Does anyone know where I can find a list of differences between the two products? Thank you in advance.
Hi James,
The "ST" version is a stand-alone offering that simply works as a Windows service watching folders for incoming files and decoding them.
The "non-ST" version is integrated with the LiveCycle ES product so that more complex operations can be performed that include other LiveCycle functions. -
Migration of JSP forms into adobe forms for PCRs
Hi All,
I am working on Upgrade project for ESS/MSS. Our client had JSP based PCRs which we need to migrate into adobe based PCRs.
i have few questions regarding this migration.
Has someone the experience to migrate a JSP based PCR into Adobe based PCR?
How much effort the migration will take, and can we fully reuse ISR configuration and workflow?
Thanks,
AnkurIf you are using the SAP delivered JSP forms - there maybe equivalent SAP delivered Adobe based PCRs in the next ESS/MSS releases that you can use instead of migrating the forms
I am not aware of any tools or documentation that help to migrate custom JSPs to custom Adobe forms
As I see it you would have to create new Adobe based versions of your JSP PCRs - I am vaguely aware of a guide entitled
"Developing Your Own Personnel Change Requests" for ERP2004 - however I am not sure how you would obtain a copy
or whether this approach is recommended, supported or complete - this documentation would detail how to create an ISR based Adobe form
At the same time there may be restrictions as to what standard JSP forms are available as standard Adobe forms and what can be configured in the ISR scenarios (for example use of Value Help in WD JAVA Adobe scenarios)
- SAP have been recommending instead of creating say a ISR based Adobe form for WD JAVA to
use HCM processes and forms (also available in the MSS role) going forward
- HCM processes and forms is WD ABAP based framework using Adobe which allows users to create custom Adobe forms which update back-end infotypes directly from the Portal - also such scenarios as Value Help etc may be possible (or more easily achieved)
Best wishes

Migrating PCR frontend-JSP forms to Adobe interactive forms-WD Abap Comp
Hi All,
We are currently on Netweaver 7.0 & ECC 6.0 and ESS - MSS Business Package 50.4. We are using JSP Forms on portal front for Personnel Change Requests (PCR's ) where in all the scenarios in the backend are heavily customized with good amount of usage of Javascripts. For certain scenarios, where in a huge amount of information is fetched from ECC 6.0 backend system, JSP are performing really bad and the total time taken to display the form is actually causing a lot of irritation to the end user.
We are planning to propose an upgrade to SAP adobe interactive forms. The prerequisite is that the business wants to reuse all the customized scenarios without any changes and just want to move towards better front end forms.
My questions are:
1. Please list benefits of SAP Adobe interactive forms - ABAP component over JSP forms (performance wise)
2. Issues with SAP Adobe Interactive forms?
3. Since Javascripts do not work in Webdynpro ABAP. How can we implement those front end checks and validations.
3. Any other options available for UI that can be suggested?
All suggestions are welcome. Quick response is appreciated.
Thanks a lot for your time and help.
Best Regards,
AnupamaIs your performance issue with the Javascript with JSP pages? or the Java script you are using within the Adobe form in your WDJ custom application using Adobe form? I have worked on PCR's using ISR framework old school it used to call as PCR and now HCM Processes and form, Developed PCR's using WDJ also integrated workflow with the WDJ PCR for approval(we never had any performance issue) infact ISR frame work was kind of slow compare to custom WDJ solution and less flexible for a developer to develop.
I have also worked created WDA custom application for PCR's , WDA is definitely better when you compare it with WDJ but I have not seen much performance issue with WDJ atleast on custom PCR solutions.
I don't have any case study to share with you, can you please tell what kind of PCR's your client is using and what kind of performance issue you are experiencing and where and why you guys are using Javascript. -
Making a JSP Form read only based on the form value present in DB
I need suggestions/examples as i am newbie into java stream.
I have two JSP pages 'Add Page' and 'Edit Page' .
Add Page -> In add Page,I have many text boxes, select drop-downs options. In one select drop-down I have values as Locked and open .I can save this page contents in DB by entering those form values.
Edit Page -> In eidtPage, once saved in DB, based on 'select drop-down- Locked and open' If it is locked i have to make all the fields (text boxes and select drop downs) as read only and if it is open i have to make it editable.
I am taking all the values from DB,setting to 'form bean' and then setting up the values in session and forwarding it to JSP page to populate there .I am using beehive net UI tages in JSP. Please help me out.Not sure I'm following what you want, but this might help:
In your select tag, put something like an 'onchange' event that calls a javascript function. In the javascript function it you add code to enable or disable your other fields based on the item selected from the drop down box.
To determine what item was selected in a select tag, you write something like the following. I'm not sure of the exact syntax. You can look it up in a javascript book:
var optionSelected = document.forms[0].selectTagName.options[document.forms[0].selectTagName.selectedIndex].value;
To enable or disable a textfield, search for this in google:

WSDL Data connection not working - SAP Interactive Forms(Adobe Based)
Greetings,
I am trying to explore the features of Adobe based forms in SAP (WAS 6.4) and have been trying to create an interactive form.
I am trying to use the WSDL file Data Connection but with no success. This is what I have been doing, starting with a blank form in the "Layout" tab,
- In the "Data View", created a "New Data Connection".
- Selected "WSDL file" Option.
- Browsed to and selected the desired WSDL file.
- Selected the WebService Option listed (Only one in my case).
The WebService in this case is programed to "Request" two numbers and "Response" back the sum. (This was just for trial).
- The connection subsequently appeared in the "Data View".
- Expanded the "Request" and "Response" trees and dragged the elements to the "Body Page" screen.
- Dragged the Data Connection Button to the screen.
- On the Properties of the Button, Went to the "Object" tab and then to the "Execute" tab.
- Checked "Re-Merge Form Data" and Run at "Client and Server"
- Generated the PDF Preview
- On the preview, entered the values for the "Requested" fields and clicked the button. It displays the error message "Couldn't post data to ".
This was my long story, but with this background, what I want to know is:
- How do i get it to work, I expected to see the sum in the field.
- What is meant by running at "Client or Server".
We do use a proxy server to connect to the Internet.
As a bottom line, I intend to make an interactive form with which I can display real-time transactional data on the form from our R/3 46C server based on a user input on the form itself (eg: PO info on entering of PO number on the form output itself)
Best Regards,
Sanyam KapurHi Sanyam,
Looking for messages with zero reply I have found yours.
Even if it is some time ago, when you posted the message, I would like to give some hints here:
Web Dynpro does not allow to access data coming directly from a Web Service and display it within a pdf file. You need to create a Web Service modell first. Then you would bind the InteractiveForm property to the context and the data can be shown.
Hope that helps.

Hiiii..
We are trying to deploy the Adobe based forms created on epnetweaver (172.xx.xx.xxx) onto our server (172.uu.uu.uuu) (adobedocumentservices).
In view of server 172.uu.uu.uuu (AdobeDocumentServices) being removed , we are not able to deploy the pdf based forms.
pls Can anybody provide any solution for restore the connection between these two servers or how to create any other server for AdobeDocumentServices.
Thanks in advance.

I recently upgraded to Lion and I had Adobe InDesign which is no longer supported. Problem is, I have several files I need but cannot open because it was PowerPC based. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance!
Assuming you registered your older version, you can retrieve the serial number by going to Adobe's site and go into your account. On this page, click the My products link in the right hand column of the first three. You'll be asked to enter your user account name and password. Once in, a list of all software you've purchased will be shown, along with their serial numbers.
That said, it really won't help you much. A PowerPC only version of InDesign means it's no newer than the original CS version, and won't be worth a cent towards an upgrade discount. To get CS6, you'd have to pay full price again. -
Problems!: calculated fields in Adobe Forms using the ISR/PCR framework.
Hi there,
I have made an Adobe form in the ISR framework. Everybody who is familiar with these forms in the framework knows that the adobe form is embedded in a standard webdynpro which consist of a roadmap with three steps.
Step 1: Fill out the form
Step 2: Check and fill the form
Step 3: Submit the form. After submit the form can be send to a manager or can be directly processed in SAP HR.
Problem 1:
When I test the adobe form and fill in a number in a field and click on next everything goes fine. But when I click on previous step the value which I filled in before is gone and put to 0,00.
Problem 2:
Also another problem is that calculated fields, do not show directly when clicking on next step. When you click on next step and then previous step, then you see the value of the calculated field.
Problem 3:
Also another problem is with the calendar function. When I fill in a date by hand and click on next the BADI behind the form sees 00-00-0000. When I use the calendar function everything goes well.
Who can help me with these 3 problems.
Greetings.

Interesting - I have a similar issue. We want to use the Request for Transfer scenario in ERP 2005, but it has not been developed in Adobe forms by SAP yet (it isn't available in 2004 either)! So, we have decided to use the old JSP PCRs instead.
Your issue is probably because you're using the same 2005 iviews to create your PCRs. The 2005 PCR iviews are written in WebDynpro, and appear to assume that each one will be an Adobe form! If you assign the old PCR iviews to your manager (give them the old MSS role under Migrated Content->EP5.0... in the pcd if you have it installed), you will be able to create a PCR with the JSP forms (regardless of the "Entry in Web" setting in QISRSCENARIO).
The next issue is the approval. In 2005, transaction SWFVISU has task TS50000075 configured as Java Webdynpro. You'll need to change that to iView, and specify ID = com.sap.pct.hcm.isrdispatcher.default. I'm following the UWL item type guide for this at:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b1/cc1357eead454bb144face4a66be7d/content.htm
Having said this, my approval is not working! The item type has clearly changed, because the workitem name is no longer a hyperlink (rather annoying), but when I hit the "Launch Task Page" button (default name I think) I get the error:
"Unable to perform action because the system returned an invalid URL"
I can't see this "invalid url" anywhere in the logs, so I can't see where it is getting it from, or what path, etc I'm meant to put! In your old system, what did you have as the "Server for ISR call" under "Additional Data for Scenario" in QISRSCENARIO? Also, what did you have in the "URL" box that appears under the Additional Data for Scenario button when you change the Entry Type to JSP?
Many thanks,
Russell. -

...It is not possible to generate form elements in an APEX page in this way. The [APEX_ITEM API|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/apirefs.32/e13369/apex_item.htm#CACEEEJE] is the only way to create APEX items in PL/SQL. However it contains no procedures to generate button items, so an alternative design is required in this case, e.g. a report with links.
(Also what is the intention of "inline" in the above code? [There is no *inline* attribute|http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/interact/forms.html#h-17.4].) -
I see that you can control which form is used based on security roles, but can you control it based on other field values? I'd like a new record to use a different form until a given status is updated. I have a status of draft and active. So
it would be nice if I could use form1 for those in draft, form2 for those that are active. But I only see where you can control that via the security roles.
I can code all of this via JavaScript, but having the ability to use two separate forms would be nice. Is that even possible.

I believe that u have all the prerequisites ie
NWDS with Adobe lifecycle designer
Adobe installed
Adobe document services configured in J2ee engine
Apart from that check whether you have the context structure and its properties same as that given in the example
I had faced a problem because of that...
pdfsource should be binary
and there should b a attribute for the value node

Creating a Form with Report based on View
Hi All,
I wanted to create a form with report based on two tables so:
1. I created a view (called COMBO) based on two tables
2. I then created a form with report based on the view
Everything seemed fine thus far until I tried to edit existing records - I got the error:
ORA-20505: Error in DML: p_rowid=2002082600001172, p_alt_rowid=REPATRIATION_ID, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-01776: cannot modify more than one base table through a join view
Unable to process row of table COMBO.NB: REPATRIATION_ID is the primary key of the Repatriation table. The other table is Applicant.
& when I tried to create a new record - I got the error:
ORA-01776: cannot modify more than one base table through a join view
Unable to process row of table COMBO.Someone please enlighten me!
Kind Regards
Kamo
Edited by: Kamo on 2009/03/12 2:33 AMHello Kamo,
You need to create an 'instead of' (update/insert/delete) trigger on your view to process the inserts etc into the 'real' tables.
