Upgrade to 2.0.2 made my iPhone 3G slow and laggy

Since I downloaded the new firmware, my phone has been really slow and laggy, anything I can do about it?

Not alot you can do I dont think. 3G decreases network reception and drains power but you can turn it off. Edge does make the internet perk up a bit sometimes believe it or not.
If you are having any issues with the applications crashing there may be a potential work around

I have 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo makbook. I upgraded to os x yersme. Now I am stuck and wondering why i did this as it made my computer very slow. stating time increased, some feature disappeared and I cannot save document In my hard drive using office. I do not want this any more. but the problem is i forgot my old software name. is any one know which would be that preinstalled software name. B. how can i go back to it with less hassle as I am not much of computer person.

Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X - Yosemite
Revert Yosemite to Mavericks
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

IPhone 4S - slow and Facebook

Hi all.
My iphone has started doing strange things. Facebook use to work fine but now it won't work. It opens but before anything loads it closes again. I have switched on /off and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Still doesn't work.
Also my iphone has started to slow down at times.
One thing as well I can't plug the iPhone back into iTunes as my MacBooks harddrive has just failed arghhhhhhh

You could always create an iCloud backup, and then set the device up as new.
Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > Backup Now.
Once you are sure the backup has completed, you can then restore the device as new or restore from iCloud.
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings.
Try it as a new device first, to see if Facebook works better, for example. If so, then it was a software issue. Restore from the iCloud, and test again.
You don't HAVE to use a computer. Apple is moving away from computer dependency for iOS devices. It's always good to have a computer for certain things, but rarely needed.
If you used your wife's laptop, then you won't have access to any backups on your other computer, for obvious reasons. But it can help to restore the device's software.
I'd just use the iCloud method myself.

Honestly i have a brand new iMac and lion has made start up extremely slow, and oovoo will not uninstall there is an error, so i tried to install java runner and the disc image is not working. i need oovoo someone.please.help.me.

Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

App made with Director runs slower and slower

Testing our nearly completed game, we are finding that on
systems with 1GB memory, the game will run smoothly at first but
after playing the game 4-5 times, it really slows down frame rate
wise. Systems with 2GB seem to be fine.
So. it seems it is running out of memory.
Basically, the player can choose a song they want to sing and
a 3D venue they want to perform at. They can also record their
performance so there is a lot going on. Playing mp3, recording
audio, running 3d window, managing 2d sprites, real-time pitch
analysis, etc... Even if the player chooses to "try again" which
allows them to keep singing same song, same venue, etc... the game
slows down.
I did a bit of research and it appears Director does memory
management itself and frees up cast members automatically when
running low on memory.
If the system has enough memory to play the game smoothly at
first, and Director frees up members when low on memory, what else
can I do to help resolve this problem?

You might look for strategic locations to place the "unload"
function.
Such as not while its playing music or video.

IPhone heating up, laggy, slow and low battery after updating to 7.1.1

I mean, after upgrading to 7.1 my iPhone 4 worked very well, actually worked pretty fast, I felt like I'm back on iOS 6, and liked the iOS 7 for the first time. But now after updating to 7.1.1, battery drains very quickly, it's so slow, and laggy, also iPhone heats up really fast when I'm using it. Is it the same to you or it's happening just to me? My friend also called me last night and said "Is your iPhone heating up like mine", it seems I'm not the only one??
Also, iPhone heats up mostly around the camera...

Even my iphone 4 was heating up like ****, i cant even touch it with my bear hands... Too much heat, too much draining of battery. Even normal usage without any data connection & wifi, i am getting 2-3 hours backup. That is too ridiculous. I'm going crazy with this bloody 7.1.1 update. I am starting hating iphone for the first time because of this issue...

Upgrade from 3G 8GB to 3GS 16GB iphone

I currently have an iphone 3G 8GB and have been given to opportunity to upgrade to a 3GS 16GB. How simple is it to transfer everything from my current iphone to the new one? HAs anybody had any issues with this if so I would like to hear them.. Also are there any whispers out there of another updated Iphone anytime this year and if so would I be better of waiting until later in the year before committing to a new contract??

We cannot discuss rumors as Apple has made no official product announcement. The Original iPhone released in June 2007, the 3G was July 2008 and the 3GS was June 2009.
To switch phones is simple. Sync the 3G phone to iTunes and then unplug. Plug in the new phone and right click on it when it appears in iTunes. Select restore from backup to move everything over.

This equipment isn't made for iphone !!

My iphone started to show the massage "This equipment isn't made for iphone do you want to turn on flight modus........" i got this massage first time using a ipod car charger. This was whit 1.1.4 than i upgrade to 2.1 (5F136), but the massage still white me. The main problem is that i can't use the phone as ipod, the musik stops after few miuntes. I have tryed to clean the conction spot of the phone, whit no luck. Any one that have the same problem and mybe an answer to my problem ?

I get "This accessory is not made to work with your iphone." This is followed by an invitation to go to airplane mode. (Apple must have a whole department devoted to non sequiturs.) This happens every time I turn the phone on. Of course, I'm not using any accessory. I have never used any accessory. The phone just started doing this out of the blue. This is one of several annoying problems with this piece of trash. If it weren't for the great apps, I would have tossed this thing long ago. I'm making my first trip to a "genius bar" tomorrow. I tried to back up my data in preparation for that adventure, but couldn't because Itunes doesn't recognize my phone. I tried all the unhelpful "solutions" on Apple's (non)support site -- to no avail. This particular grossly overpriced Apple product would be a less than a year old 8GB iphone. I am running the latest software both on the phone ane in Itunes.

Very poor quality on photos made with iphone 4

Since a few weeks i've noticed that photos made with my iPhone 4 have a very poor quality. I've upgraded to IOS 4.3.2 thinking about a software problem, but the quality is still very poor. It´s like out of focus. I submit a just made photo. Any answer? Thanks a lot.

Only thing I can think of is a focus problem (which could be software) or a lens with some junk on it that causes some blurring.
Can't offer a solution but can make some suggestions.
Take different types of pictures and, just for variety in case it reveals something, take two of each - one touching the screen and then one after touching for comparison.
Do close-ups and distance shots. Do indoor and outdoor, with and without flash on the indoor - again, of the same thing so you can compare.
Might reveal a pattern. If all are bad, then it probably goes back to the lense or software not working.
If some come out fine, it would seem to reduce the chance of it being the lens being dirty or something. On the other hand, if close up shots look good but distant ones don't, it could be either software or the internal focusing hardware isn't adjusting enough for distant shots.
Just some things to consider.

New update 2.0.2 made my iPhone 3g worse..

I updated my phone with the new firmware about 2 hours ago and ever since my iPhone loses connection and service worse then ever, texting is even more laggy(which was supposed to be fixed)and browsing speeds have slowed down. Baically everything that was supposed to be fixed was made worse. I want to take my iPhone back and exchange it but i dont know if they will let me. Its very annoying that i spend all this money for a product that is flaud.

I see some improvements in my iPhone 3g and the original iPhone that my wife has after updating to 2.02. 1. The tapping response to the use interface is quicker, apps start quicker and the interface as a whole seems snappier. This just like what my original iPhone was before the 2.0 upgrade slowed the tapping response sometimes to a crawl. 2. My Safari speed is much quicker using the WIFI at my house. 3. I live on the fringe of 3G and get only Edge near my home. On my drive into work my network connectivity goes from Edge to 3G and back until I get only 3G when I get closer to where I work (Dayton, Ohio). This morning I was able to listen to internet radio using the Tuner app most of the way into work. Before this 2.02 update the audio streaming would start and stop streaming the audio and never reconnect until I manually stopped the Tuner app and reconnected. This morning it only stopped when it went from Edge to 3G and back, but it reconnected automatically to the station I was listening to after about 15 second pause. There seems to be some improvement for me at those fringe conditions.

Iphone 3G Slow After Upgrade to OS 4

After upgrading to OS 4, my IPhone is slow as molasses. I'm so frustrated. I can't believe Apple done nothing about this yet. It takes 10-12 seconds just to get into text mode from any other application. When I often type, it takes several seconds for the phone to catch up. Looks like others had had the same experience. I hope Apple is listening. I'm an Apple devotee but this experience is frustrating me.... Anyone found a solution??

Apple is not listening, this is a user to user forum. Some people solved the problem by restoring "as new iPhone" without using the backup made prior to the upgrade when running 3.x firmware.
Since I "handed down" my 3G, I did the same and experienced no big difference in the performance after that.

Upgraded to iOS 6; No WiFi on iPhone 4S and now iPad 3

Upgraded to iOS 6 earlier today at work. Used their WiFi to update. Came home and now no WiFi. I've tried changing the SSID and changed from WEP to WPA and then back to WPA. After doing all those changes still not connecting.
I know some topics have said to delete the Safari history or whatever. Tried that and that didn't work.
I just updated my iPad 3 to iOS 6 and now it won't connect to my WiFi. I have a Netgear WGT624 v3 with the latest firmware. This is an older router but ALL my devices have worked with no issues until this update was released and install on 2 of my devices.
I still have an iPad, iPad 2, 2 other iPhone 4's and a 3GS to update and I'm not doing that until I have my WiFi working on the iPhone 4S and iPad 3.
What is the problem Apple? Its going to be weeks before they fix this issue.

Found a solution to my problem.
I'm using the Netgear WGT624 v3 router with the latest firmware. I searched online for Netgear issues with iOS 6 and found this link.

Basicallt I downgraded the firmware of my router and now the WiFi works. Just a temp fix until Apple address the issue. Then I will try to upgrade back to the newest firmware.
