Upgrade to ECC 6 - Changes in ABAP Features

    Dear friends we are in process to Upgrade from version 4.7 to ECC6.
    Can someone please help me with documentation about
    changes in ABAP features ar any new features available in
   ECC6
   I have seen that there are ABAP debugger screen has totally
changes.

There is lot difference between 4.6c and 6.0
1) ecc 6.0 coming with inbuild webdynpro , BSP it is not 4.6c
2) In ecc we have interactive forms concept where it was not there in 4.6c
3) 4.6c there is no unicode concept here we have unicode and non unicode
ECC->enterprise central component.ECC 6.0 is the advanced version.if we consider in technical point of view then i can give u one example.
In the new version we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S.SAP has provided these ,so that without going for access keys we can write our code in the enhancement points along with Standard SAP code.So now SAP has provided more user friendly environment.Also a new DEBUGGER also arrived with the new version.Now we can see more things in the new er version of DEBUGGER.
Few tables have been modified in ECC6.0.
Tables TVARV & TTREX have been replaced by TVARVC & TTREXN respectively.

ERP 6.0 has > 200.000 ABAP programs and function modules and other objects, having such "delta list" doesn´t make sense. Would you want to compare the programs one-by-one?
Between 4.6B and ERP 6.0 are many years of development and many many uncountable changes.
Please be a bit more specific what you want to check, then we may help.

All other components are 600 or 604.
My functional team agreed with the client a upgrade for components 7.4 in order to install SAP BPC.
In my understanding, the current version is a ECC 6.0 on a NW 7.0 EHP1 (ABAP) and since we're being asked to upgrade to components 7.4, we're going to upgrade to ECC 6.0 on a NW 7.4 (we can choose the EHP freely). Is this correct?
Can you also point me the direction for the right documentation in order to do this the smoother way possible?

ABAP Query - Sq03 0 infosets missing post upgrade to ECC 6.0

Hi ,
After upgrading from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 we found that few infosets from SQ03 & also from SQ01 is missing in the upgrade box ECC 6.0.
Can anyone help to troubleshooting it.

Hi,
In Upgrade, the some queries may not be generated...
hence you need to regenrate the queries...
Use the FM : RSAQ_GENERATE_PROGRAM
This FM needs input the Query name and the functional area...
The output will be the generated program....
To generate all queries, write a custom report using the above FM..

US Payroll upgrading from Ecc 5.0 to Ecc 6.o

My client want to upgrade from Ecc 5.0 to Ecc 6.0 for all modules including US payroll.
please advise me what are the tables in i need to take care? means i need to have copy for double check?
Is any tables which was there in Ecc 5.0 and not available in Ecc 6.0?
I know that we need to have the backup of table T512w and T5uj tables, Apart from these table what other tables i need to check and have backup for double check?

Error AA662 in Asset accounting after upgrade to ECC 6

Hi,
After upgrade to ECC6 from R3 Enterprise, when we try to browse an asset, using transaction code AW01N, and go to posted values/Comparisons tab we get the following error:
SYST: You cannot change the depreciation periods
     Message no. AA662
Asset affected: 000000003983-0000
Diagnosis
    Processing terminated because the number of depreciation periods in company code 1100 has been changed. However, you cannot change the number of
    periods in your live (productive) system.
Procedure
    Change the depreciation periods back to the original value in company code 1100. The number of depreciation periods is determined by the fiscal year version and the use of half-periods. At least one of these parameters was changed.
     If you want to change your system so that you can now work with half-periods, you have to use depreciation keys with time-dependent period control in that company code.
    If you need to make general changes to the number of periods for calculating depreciation per fiscal year, you will have to consult your system administrator.
We were not getting this error in R3 enterprise. We have tried implementing sap note 1009699 but it does not resolve the issue. What we observed is, AA662 occurs if you change the number of period in the fiscal year version or the use of half-periods, after you have already posted to assets. The most common cause is a different value in field ANLB-PERFY which is the number of periods in the fiscal year. If the number entered here does not correspond to the number of posting periods of the fiscal year used, the system raises error AA662 (except for none posted areas for which ANLB-PERFY = 000 or areas with depreciation to the date for which ANLB-PERFY = 365). For us there are many assets with ANLB-PERFY=24.
Is there a way to fix this problem by some config change or data fix. If any of you have come across a similar issue or have any insights on the same, please respond back.

I could not find any solution to fix this in new depreciation calculation method. I also did not get any help from SAP or SDN. So, we decided to switch back to the old calculation method.
There are 3 ways of implementing the old calculation.
1. SAP Note 984161 : Code change at ABAP level.
2. User Level : By setting the user parameter FAA_DC_SWITCH to OLD
3. By default Config : If we make an entry in V_TABWD_VID in SM30 and create a new entry with Acct. Transaction ID to 'AMBUAFAR000000000000', It should use old calculation method.

Upgrade from ECC 6.0 to NW 7.10

Hi,
I'm trying to plan ahead for our upcoming hardware replacement (3 yr lease). We are also planning for an ECC 6.0 upgrade from 4.7 Enterprise (unicode). I know that the power 6 chip has a built in decimal floating point processing which I believe will be useable with Netweaver 7.10.
Is the upgrade from ECC 6.0(a NW7.00 product?) to NW 7.10 a full upgrade or is it more like a big hot pack?
The reason I'm interested is that I would like to think I could take advantage of the Decimal Floating point processor sooner than later. The other part of the equation is that we have a BI based on NW 7.00 now.
If I can avoid purchasing another i5OS and paying for a processor activation because there is now a math feature built into the processor , I'm all for it. I would like to start planning now if the upgrade to 7.10 isn't going to be too painful.

From what I heard, there would not be another major ECC release in the near future. New functions have been and will be released in "Enhancement packages" - hopefully it is not another new term to you...
NetWeaver 7.1 has been released (Q3 2007? not Q3 2008 for sure). BI folks might know whether there will be a release 7.1 or not.

ECC Upgrade from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP4 - impact on XI 3.0

We are palnning for upgrade our ECC System from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP4. We do not have any plan of upgrade on XI, which is on XI 3.0.
After ECC upgrade please provide the impact on XI 3.0 ?
Will XI 3.0 able to work with ECC 6.0 without any change or any change is required in the XI configuration level, please specify?

SAP Upgrade from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6

Hello All,
We are planning for an upgrade from ECC 5 to ECC 6. As some obsolete statements like "Use of header line" is no more supported in ECC 6, do we need to manually change in all custom programs and FMs? Or is there available a tool to do so? or will SAP as part of the upgrade do the necessary. Because this is a huge effort

Hi,
It has to be manually done for each and every program.
Probably your company can check if there are any third party vendor tools that does the conversion, but anyways someone has to manually check the programs and test all of them.

Webgui service fails in ECC 6/0 upgraded from ECC 5.0.

Our webgui service worked fine in our ECC. 5.0 system, however after the upgrade to ECC 6.0, the WebGui service fails. Has anyone experienced this? I've found other threads that said to change the WebGui service parameters, however, I'm not sure what the correct parameters are since the one's I have are from a ECC.5.0 system and not from and ECC 6.0 system.

Problem resolved...you need to publish the service "SYSTEM" and "WEBGUI" in se80 after a SP upgrade.

Well i would recommend to use lates BP cause lot has changed from ECC 500 to ECC 600
and they wont be supported and you ll definately get support mismatch here

'SPROXY' - Multiple PI Systems connected to one ECC System for ABAP Proxies

Dear Experts
I am currently facing an issue when I want to connected multiple PI instances to one ECC client for
ABAP Proxy purposes.
In transaction 'SPROXY', in the Enterprise Service Brower, only one PI instance is shown and accessable.
Can this setting be changed to allow multiple PI systems in this Enterprise Service Browser?

R/3 Upgrade to ECC 6.0 -- BW???

we have a customer who is goingto un upgrade to ECC 6.0, can anybody tell me which is the BW version necesary for this R/3 version???

Yes, There is a chance that some Data Sources might change. many of the business content DS will work fine. But If you have enhanced a DS or created a genric DS then you need to make sure everything goes fine after R/3 upgrade.
Or else think about upgrading to BI 7first beofore R/3 upgrde to ECC 6. !!

Upgrade from ECC 6.0 EHP5 to EHP7 issue with PO header

HI Experts,
We Upgrade the Ecc 6.0 recently from EHP 5 To EHP 7. In EHP 5 when we select the PO type (REW - Reject ) in ME21N , Reject tab will appear at header level.
In EHP 7 When we enter the PO type (REW - Reject ) in ME21N ,Reject tab will not appearing and it is asking for the organisation elements and vendor .After entering the all the organisation data only reject tab appear in header level.
My client wants EHP 5 Functionality in EHP 7.What clould be the reason to behave like this.How to achive this requirement.

Hi Krishna Rao,
It is proved lot of times if you are upgraded new enhancement package in the server then enhancements need to re-check and do manually development in new server and retesting in quality server before moving to Production server.
Ask Abaper to check whether enhancement updated in new enhanced server . If no then Abaper need to update manually.
