Upgraded but still can't open file

I wanted to print a PDF file; it opens to a note that says i need to upgrade. I did follow the link and it says it is already in my downloads but I can't still open the PDF file.

Downloading Reader is one thing. INSTALLING it is another entirely. You NEED to run the installer form your downloads folder.

Don't be afraid to bump this topic. There's also an App Store forum where you might repost this question, but give some of these details in your post. I'd rephrase the topic to something like "Can't use App Store to upgrade." (Instead of can't "open".) Then give the details.

As you probably know the Canon plug-in enables Log & Transfer in FCP7. I'm not sure whether it works with Final Cut Express or not.
Look in Applications>Canon Utilities. I'm running 10.6 as well and that is where it's located on my machine.

Did you run the iPhoto Library upgrader after you installed it - if not backup your iphoto library and go to the utilities folder in your Applications folder and double click on the iphoto library upgrader and RUN i - then launch iphoto 9.6 to complete the upgrade

Is this normal after 3 days? I tried asking in a chat window instead of the forum but no one answered and after about ten minutes my screen restarted and closed the chat window down. It seems a little frustrating not knowing what happened to my order and not being able to contact anyone. Is all this usual with Adobe or are they just having technical problems this week?

The Initial view setting works perfectly when the file is opened in Acrobat after setting the desired Initial View.
When you upload the file onto Wordpress, and view it on that website in the browser...it might be using a different pdf handler program which might be causing this issue ( it would be helpful, if you could provide the screenshot) , however when you download the pdf again from wordpress server...and open in Acrobat/Reader...then what exactly happens ? Does the pdf opens in the desired Initial View setting?

Updated to latest ACR 6.6 but still can't open CR2 files from Canon Rebel XSi

I updated to latest version of Adobe Camera Raw 6.6 but still can't seem to open my CR2 files in Photoshop. Can't open them in Lightroom either, no preview in Bridge or OS.
I'm running OS 10.7.2 and Photshop 12.1 x 64 which is CS5.1 I suppose.
I've downloaded Canon's EOS utility hoping that would somehow do something as well but nothing.
The images were shot on Canon Rebel XSi which is certainly supported by the newest version of ACR. So I have no clue as to what's happening... I previously downloaded these images onto my old laptop about a year ago and everything was fine, however now I'm not even getting a preview in OS. Do I have to revert to an older version of ACR (perhaps the same one I used originally?) to open these files again? These files have been stored on a hard drive, so I'm not downloading them directly from the camera-again, this probably has nothing to do with it but not sure what to do. A lot of the posts I've seen recommend downloading the latest version of ACR to fix the issue, but again I've done that and as a matter of fact the camera (Rebel XSi) has been supported for some time now...

Something appears to be wrong with your files.
Are most of your images approx. 3.7 MB?
This is very small for a 12 MP image.
If you go back to the original file on your laptop, what is the file size?
Also the fact that the Mac OS is not showing the preview is unusual.
Perhaps these files got corrupted when they were moved to your new computer.
Can you open these files OK on your old laptop?
Is the OS showing the previews on your old laptop?
Also compare the file sizes between old and new computer.
Have you tried repairing your permissions?
Try Disk Utility in your Macs Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility to see if this helps.

I just updated Indesign but still can't open an .indd file.

I just updated Indesign through the Creative Cloud App, but I still can't open a file provided by a client. The error message says the file was saved with "a newer version of Adobe Indesign CC (9.2). Not sure why this is the case since I have a CC subscription. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Okay, I figured it out. There are 2 versions of Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop currently released by Adobe: CS6 and CC. Hadn't been paying attention, so it was confusing. It's not immediately clear on the Adobe site that there are 2 versions. Not very good customer support/relations in that respect.

I have an older computer and could not read a pdf file so I just added the Adobe software for $14.95 and downloaded it but still can not open the reader. If I can't open it, please refund my money.

You need camera raw 6.4 for your camera. It is mot compatible with PSE8. You need to upgrade to PSE13. Alternatively, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in PSE8 (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

Can you also make sure that you have the latest version of the app?
For iOS, the latest version (as of April 28, 2015) is 15.0.2.
For Android, the latest version (as of April 28, 2015) is 15.0.1.

Upgraded to CS6 can't open files

I just upgraded to CS6 and when I go to open my InDesign files from my folders or from Bridge the program will open but not the file. The only way I can open a file is if I oprn InDesign, go to File, then open.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled. I have checked the registery to make sure that was all CS6.
I am running on Windows XP.
Any ideas on what to do to fix???

Not sure about Bridge, but it might be a problem in Explorer that the open command is missing the file variable. In Explorer click Tools > Folder Options, then the File types tab. Scroll down to .indd, seelct it and click the Advanced button, then select the Open command and click the Edit button.
Click in "Application used to perform action" field and press the End key on your keyboard. The command line should end in "%1" (including the quotes).

Camera Raw (.ORF) - PSE 10. Have loaded latest plug in via updater but still can't read files..

Hi all
I've been on to FAQ and then used PSE Updater to load the latest Camera Raw plug in.
If I now go into the updater it tells me that my PSE is all up to date.
However, when I try and load an .ORF file into Organiser I still get the message that the file is either already in the system (it's not) or it's an un-supported file type (but Adobe say's it is).
Any help would be very welcome... Any which is reasonably simple will be brilliant.

Is your camera still the OM-D E-M5 ?
Can you confirm the ACR version that you have installed to confirm that it is ACR 6.7.
In the editor go to Help -> About Plug-in -> Camera RAW.
If it says 6.7.0.339 then it is the correct one.

Make sure the pdf has the '.pdf' extension on the file name. I've seen this a few times and adding the extension usually solves the problem.
