Upgrading from Director 7 to Director 11

On the Adobe web site I see that only users owning versions
of Director MX and above qualify for a discount. I will like to see
a price break for users of older versions of Director. I own
Director 7 and I will like to upgrade to Director 11. Paying the
full price is not feasible.

Actually, it appears they are offering the upgrade price for
8.5 as well
(not that it helps you with 7).
Macromedia used to allow for license transfers, (not sure how
that works
with adobe now), so you could buy a used copy, then upgrade.
In fact
there is an ebay auction right now for an 8.5 cd/key. You
might make
sure that it is still transferable though.
I went the ebay way for my upgrade to MX2004 way back in the
Macromedia day and was able to get the seller to sign off to the
transfer of ownership... the Adobe link can be found here:

  • Add users from several Active Directories in SAP BPC

    Hello everybody,
Does anybody know if you can add users from several Active Directories in SAP BPC??
In affirmative case, how can you add several Active Directories in SAP BPC??
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards,
    Fernando

    Hi,
We almost have same issue to add users from several Active Directories.
BPC server is in Domain A. We perform to add users from Domain B. Our trusted relation between AD is Domain B approve Domain A (unidirectional).
We cannot get one user which is able to browse both AD. So we install BPC with a user which has rights to browse Domain A  and we use another user in COM+ component (OsoftUSerManage) which has right to browse Domain B.
But it is not working : we encounter an issue (access denied) in web administration by adding users from Domain B.
    Any idea ?
    Env. : BPC 5.1 SP6

  • Mavericks upgrade from Mountain Lion deletes all user accounts

This is a lesson for upgrading too early (and too eagerly).
Today I tried the Mavericks upgrade from Mountain Lion on my 2007 Macbook Pro, after going through all the pre-installation/pre-upgrade checklists.
I don't think I have gone from a very high to a down low in such a short space of time.  I really wanted to move on from Mountain Lion and when the installer finished the upgrade to Mavericks and re-started my MBP, I was super excited.  When the restart completed and I was presented with the login prompt, I tried entering my user name and password.  First time, it shaked on the password... OK, you'd think that is a typo.  Re-entering the password... same thing.
You can imagine what ensued.  After entering my password v-e-r-y slowly many times, I started realising that something went very VERY wrong.
Just for information, I used two different user accounts on my MBP under Mountain Lion.  The one account had administrative priviledges and was only used for installing applications and a few other administrative tasks.  Then I have a second personal account, which does not have administrative priviledges and is the account I use daily for Mail, Safari, iTunes, programming etc.
None of those accounts worked under Mountain Lion.  Basically, there is no way in.
I then proceeded to boot with the startup option Cmd + S (command-line access).  Once that was completed, I was in as root and checked the /etc/passwd.  None of the user accounts were there.  I was only able to find two user accounts: root and nobody; and a long list of user account that started with an underscore (I think these are some sort of esoteric user accounts).  So, it appears that the Mavericks upgrade did not accurately bring over the user account information from my Mountail Lion installation.
Then, I went into the /Users directory and there I could see the home directories for all the users as they were defined under Mountain Lion.  The contents were intact too.
It seems to me that the Mavericks upgrade from my Mountain Lion forgot to bring over the user accounts but it did preserve the contents of all the users' home directories.
Unless anyone can spot some sort of user error here (please let me know), I am heading back to Mountain Lion pretty swiftly.  Otherwise, I suspect there is a bug in the Mavericks installer.
    Any assistance is appreciated.

The reason this occurred is a mystery and has not been commonly reported. Consider the following. It may or may not help. You should probably print these instructions before proceeding.
Boot Single User mode again and do the following:
(You can skip the first step. It will check your boot volume for errors and correct what it can. If there were errors the installer should not have proceeded, but the possibility exists that directory corruption may have occurred during installation. That seems unlikely to me but could explain what went wrong.)
    In Single User Mode:
At the :/ root# prompt, type fsck -fy and press Return or Enter. It will take a few moments to complete. If you are concerned that nothing is happening just press the Return key until you see the :/ root# prompt again.
Once the disk check is complete and the prompt returns, type mount -uw / and press Return / Enter.
Type launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.opendirectoryd.plist and press Enter. If you get an error message you may ignore it.
Type ls /Users and press Enter. All of the usernames on the computer will be listed, which is helpful if you don’t know or remember what these are.
Type dscl . passwd /Users/username password while replacing username with one of the users displayed in the previous step and replacing password with the new password of your choice. Press Enter. You will likely get an error message about a file or directory not being found. You may ignore this.
    Type reboot and press Enter.

  • Upgrade from 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.0.6

I'm planning to upgrade my 8.1.7.4 DB to 9.2.0.6 My question is concerning the order of steps to get there, should I
    install 9.2.0.1
upgrade DB from 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.0.1
apply patchset to get to 9.2.0.6
    OR
    install 9.2.0.1
apply patchset to get to 9.2.0.6
upgrade DB from 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.0.6
Also, I believe I've read there is no downgrade procedure to get back to 8.1..4 from 9.2.0.6. Is this true? Due to space limitations I'll probably end up deinstalling 8.1.7.4 before installing 9.2.0.6.
    Anly help is greatly appreciated.

please give the steps which u followed while upgrading from 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.0.6**Please note that my upgrade was on AIX 5.2
Here are the steps I followed, based off the "Oracle9i Database Migration" docs:
    **Also see MetaLink Note:214887.1 & Note:159657.1
==> Install 9.2.0.1 (to new HOME destination)
==> Install patch to 9.2.0.6 (depends on your OS)
    ==> DB Upgrade
-copy parameter file from 8i to 9i ORACLE_HOME/dbs
-copy password file from 8i to 9i ORACLE_HOME/dbs
-adjust parameter file by removing obselete init parameters and adjust deprecated init parameters
-Make sure the SHARED_POOL_SIZE initialization parameter is set to at least 48 MB.
-Make sure the PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET initialization parameter is set to at least 24 MB.
-Make sure the LARGE_POOL_SIZE initialization parameter is set to at least 8 MB.
-Make sure the COMPATIBLE initialization parameter is properly set for the new Oracle9i release (
-Make sure the DB_DOMAIN initialization parameter is set properly.
-set REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE to NONE in the parameter file
-make sure that the following environment variables point to the new release 9.2 directories:
    ORACLE_HOME
    PATH
    ORA_NLS33
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH
-change to the ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin directory under 9i HOME
    -Start SQL*Plus.
-Connect to the database instance as a user with SYSDBA privileges
    -SQL> STARTUP MIGRATE
    -SQL> SPOOL upgrade.log
    -run script u0801070.sql
The script you run creates and alters certain dictionary tables. It also runs the catalog.sql and
catproc.sql scripts that come with the new 9.2 release, which create the system catalog views and all
the necessary packages for using PL/SQL.
-Display the contents of the component registry to determine which components need to be upgraded:
    SQL> SELECT comp_name, version, status
    FROM dba_registry;

  • Trouble upgrading from PSE 3.0 to PSE 8.0

I'm getting an unusable format of my ver 8.0 when upgrading from ver 3.0. My 3.0 PHOTO browser is OK but my 3.0 FILE browser is a mess because I moved many files by "getting" pictures and "deleting from catalog" rather than using the FILE browser in Editor. Does ver 8.0 look at the PHOTO browser or the FILE browser when installing. If this is the problem, is there a way to re-initialize or update the ver 3.0 file browser before I install ver 8.0. I'm using Windows XP SP3. I'll appreciate any help. I'm stuck.

I have used Windows Explorer to managemy directories and files for some time. Last night while trying to get a handle on what was happening I found two troubling things. First, adding or deleting categories and sub-categories in PSE 3 Organizer does not add or delete them in the Editor File Browser. Not having used the File Editor for some time I never discovered this. I'm sure that somewhere, early on in my use of PSE 3, I found information that lead me to believed that the two browsers held the same information.
The second thing has also escaped me for some time because I ignored the File Browser. There was a second copy of the Documents folder and the My Pictures folder in the File Browser. These were relics from a long time ago when I had placed shortcuts to both the Documents folder and the My Pictures folder on my desktop because it made it easier to access them. As I grew more familiar with using the program I realized that a shortcut to Windows Explorer was all I needed. So, I sent both the Documents and Pictures shortcuts to the Recycle bin. That, of course, as I found with Categories and Sub-categories, did not remove the short cuts from the File Browser. I was not aware that the shortcuts were still in the File Browser. All of this simply means that when I tried to upgrade to PSE 8 it was confused. When I removed PSE 8 after the bad install things got more scrambled.
I have removed the second copies of Documents and Pictures and am now starting on the, I'm afraid, long process of getting my files in order. It's clear to me why the two browsers didn't agree. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

  • Upgrade from BOE XI 3.0 to 3.1

    Hi,
We need to upgrade from our current BOE XI 3.0 to 3.1.  According to Upgrade Guide for XI 3.1, "To install the .NET components (which we need) in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI, uninstall XI 3.0, and then install XI 3.1".  There's no mention how to preserve the XI 3.0 configurations/data, or export them before the XI 3.0 uninstall and import them after the XI 3.1 install.
For people went through the same upgrade path, would you please share your experience on how to carry out upgrade to XI 3.1 while preserve 3.0 data?
    Much appreciated,
    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,
    Here your strategy would be.
    1) Please check in the Import Wizard Pdf for BIAR file with server properties.
    2) Backup of the entire CMS and the contents of the Storage folder (it contains the directories and contents of both the Input  and Output File Repository Servers). These are the physical copies of the reports - the CMS contains the pointers etc.
For all backup instances it's advisable to de-activate all the servers except the CMS.

    Hi,
Roadmap is the recomended way to manage the Upgrade project, but this will not make anything automatic. If you don´t have the knowledge and time to configure the project in Solman then just follow the Upgrade Guide. In this Roadmap is included Technical and Funtional processes and it is an excellent starting point for the project but as already said, if don´t have the knowledge or any other person from the team either, then don´t worry much about it althoug it is imperative that a good Project is designed before starting the process either using MS Project or any other software, after the first tests you will have to adjust times for next upgrades.
Buy the way in the upgrade guide there are some sections specially dedicated to AIX but most parts of the process are the same for any OS/DB combo. Basically check prerequisites, do prepare, fix what ever is necesary and then run upgrade process.
Read the Upgrade Guide 2 or 3 times to get a clear Idea on what should be done before, during and after the upgrade process, read all related notes and have them printed in case of any problem.
AND you should have access to OS level, if you don´t then when doing Prepare or Upgrade then you won´t be able to look at the logs and that is Vital during the process. Also need to have access to SAP directories to check and change files like copying upgrade DVD's, upgrading R3trans, TP, etc so explain that to them or make one of them to be next to you.
    Good Luck

    Hello,
We have upgraded from 4.6C to ECC6.0 and did not have any port config issues.
    Things to look for:
      - RFC destinations, do they still work
      - directories used in File type ports, are they still there (they should be)
    Hope this helps a bit

  • Re:Upgrading from Business Connector to Xi

    Hi Guys,
Can anybody plz help me how to upgrade from business connector ti XI
    Thanks in advance
    Hari

    Hi Hari,
If you are interested to get a free evaluation on the level of complexity of your BC projects and the amount of work required for the migration please contact us and we can perform this evaluation and estimation for you.
Our product BC2XI is the only BC to PI migration product which is [Netweaver content certified|http://www.sap.com/ecosystem/customers/directories/SoftwareISVSolutions.epx?context=21B87D61C0F646A22B2A6DB254A010CA8C9C141B7529F029910FE6FF9EEEC5A701BF20EED61AC07159D98BAA068EBE1B8C5C7665EA2226374E942CF1D2A49D202711A97F135182CC%7c681CA45EAFF1066138C1B9B28AACD541&response=shared] and the only product which you can actually see a demonstration of (go to [http://www.sisusoftware.com]). We hear about other products, but these don't seem to have any public availability (at least which one could see).
It is completely feasible to automate the migration of BC records, flows, flow elements, graphical maps, 100+ of the BC built-in functions, output templates, etc. it is just very, very complex

  • Weblogic Portal ( Server ) upgrade from 10.0 MP1 to 10.3.5

    HI,
We are currently attempting to upgrade WebLogic Portal Server in development environment and having problems when i run the installer. ( WLS1035_upgrade_generic.jar ).
I'm attempting this upgrade in Windows 7 professional environment ( 64 bit )  and it is a Windows VM with in a MAC OS X.
Problem  : At the screen where it asks to Choose Middleware Home Type  ---> click next   --->  it shows error message saying Product is not Installed.
Environment   :    Upgrade of WebLogic 10.0 MP1 portal server ( JDK 1.5_30 )  on a Windows Virtual Machine running using Parallels Desktop software
    Existing attempts  :
I went through the forums and tried
    -  Oracle's Minimum Technical Requirements says that i need to have JDK 1.6_24 and have installed JDK  1.6.0_35. ( jdk-6u35-windows-x64.exe ) .
I'm currently  running the setup from command prompt using this version of Java.
    -  Tried using BEA WebLogic smart upgrade. But it is not recognising our Oracle Support Login  credentials. I tried doing this in offline mode having the above .jar and .zip  file patch in the correct directory but its not recognising.
Weblogic home directory is c:\bea and it has got all the directories inside it  -   i don't understand the reason why installer is not able to identify the existing WLS installation.
I would appreciate help around this as i'm not sure what else to try ?
    Cheers,

I am not sure what you are doing is supported. You cannot upgrade a 10.0 to a 10.3.5 the way you are trying. The updater may be used to upgrade froma 10.3.x to 10.3.5 i believe. Check this out Upgrading WebLogic Server 9.x or 10.0 Application Environments to 10.3.5

  • Cannot upgrade from 9i databases to 10.2.0.3 on Solaris

You cannot upgrade from Oracle 9.2 database to 10.2.0.3 on Solaris. You can upgrade to 10.2.0.2, then to 10.2.0.3 There is a serious problem though doing a direct upgrade, the database will not function. You get
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UPGRADE_SYSTEM_TYPES_FROM_920", line 1
Has anyone got around this problem yet? Metalink is trying to fix the problem, but hasn't had any luck yet. Tired of having two different 10G directories on servers when migrating databases. Also was horrible during the first upgrade to discover the problem. It has been tested and is a known problem with the Oracle 10.2.0.3 patch (along with 2 other bad issues on 10.2.0.3 patch).

I have had no issues going from 9.2.0.7 to 10.2.0.3 three weeks ago in our staging environment, since then I have not seen any problem.
Installed 10.2.0.1 base applied 10.2.0.3 pactchset to the same oracle home.

Oracle Database 10.2 Upgrade Status Utility 05-23-2007 01:43:07

  • Correct way to upgrade from LP 8 to 9 with all the extra content?

I know that Apple has moved around the default folders for Apple Loops and extra audio content with different versions of Logic. When upgrading from a full install of LP8 to LP9, what is the correct way to do that. I'm worried I may get duplicate Apple Loops etc.
Should I just run the installer and install all 9 discs to the default settings, or do I need to pay attention to which folders the extra audio content goes? I'm seeing a scenario where the Jam Packs from LP8 are in a different folder than the default for LP9 and so will get installed a second time.

Thank you for your reply. So the jam Packs are identical to LP8? Then I can skip thoseI have a pretty good idea of where the actual files are located. So I should be able to figure it out.
How can I the make sure that every file on the disk is actually in the loop browser , and to avoid duplicates? Over the years as directories have been changed for GB and LP, it's been quite confusing, especially since I already had some Jam Packs and also Soundtrack Pro and corresponding Loops before they became part of LP and some other Loop packages. Is it really as easy as deleting everything in the Loop Browser and then dragging all the folders from the HD in there?
