Upgrading Prime system (Card Management System)

we have project for upgrading Prime system (Card Management System). As part of the business requirement, Prime system should update online Base24 with any cards updates (e.g. if new card is issued in prime, prime is to send this record to Base24 system at the same moment of the creation. If card status is changed in Prime to be lost or stolen, prime is to send this update to Base24).
Current version of Prime in QIB is working on Informix database. The upgraded version will work on Oracle database. TSYS (the vendor of prime) told that Prime is a back office application. It cannot and is not supposed to interface with any other systems. Hence, they told that there aren’t any way to online update any other system.
As new prime is working on Oracle database, we need your consultation if this online updates can be achieved through oracle by maybe triggering services or calls to Middleware services or API’s which can in turn update Base24 system.

RAID won't be of a benefit unless you have two identical hard drives. It is possible to use two different ones, but there are performance/size issues.
The IDE2 and IDE3 ports support drives in a non-raid configuration.

I want to develop a remote card management system.i developed the core such as applet loading, applet deleting, getting info of card,
establishing secure chanel with SCP01 and SCP02 protocols.my final goal is to develop it in a manner that the application works in a network.maybe internet or local LAN.suppose that the readers are connected to client application and the server have the applet that should be loaded.my problem is How can i fetch the reader connected to client in a network.note that my application use SmartCardIO for connecting to the card.

    hi,
well there is no magic here. You'll have to do the hard work yourself.
    you'll have to either
    - invent a virtual smartcardio terminal that works across a network (I tried this once, it was awfully complex and it did not work properly at all)
    or
    - change you core API for a remote environment paradigm. Try not to think in "card terminal" terms.
I assure you that this second option is far better, as you can optimize things to avoid useless round trips by grouping commands that do not depend on each other in network messages, for example.
    regards and good luck

  • If I upgrade my system software will I loose use of iWeb?

I am getting the new iPhone and want to upgrade my MacBook Pro software to the newest version.  I am currently using iWeb and don't want to loose use of it when I upgrade my system software.  Will I still be able to manage my web site with the new system software and the older iWeb?

Info About iWeb Courtesy of Old Toad
As you now know iWeb and iDVD have been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.   On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. HOWEVER, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
Currently if the site is published directly from iWeb to the 3rd party server the RSS feed and slideshow subscription features will work. However, if the site is first published to a folder on the hard drive and then uploaded to the sever with a 3rd party FTP client those two features will be broken.   All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.   There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: iW14 - Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.

  • CIT200 message, 'Please upgrade operating system' when I click on Linksys

I have removed and re-installed Linksys CIT200 over and over again, but still have the same problem.  Whenever my pc XP start up or when I click on Linksys, it wont let me view Linksys and a message pops up. Message reads, 'CIT200 Please upgrade operating system'.  I do not know what Im supposed to do.  I also had the EAccess Violation message, but managed to remove it with the help of this forum.  I cannot use my SKYPE phone at all and I have plenty of credit that I might loose.  It says Unavailable.
Please help!!!!!!!  I've tried eveything that I (and a local pc repair man) could think of

    Hi Gollum
Thanks for replying so quickly.  If drivers are the same as software, then yes.  I uninstalled my software (disc I got with the phone).  I then reinstalled it and went to the Linksys website, found my phone ad downloaded the drivers.
If this was wrong, could you give me step by step on where to find the latest software? I couldn't find any mention of software downloads on the website though - only drivers.   Are they the same?
As I mentioned, even with the driver download, I have had no joy

  • Upgrading to system 9

    Hello
We are using an old version of HFM and want to upgrade to system 9. We still use HAL and want to also bring in FDM. I am trying to find some documents on how easy or hard this woudl be and what would be involved. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Hi,
Upgrading HFM from presystem 9 to System 9, releases 9.2.x or 9.3.x is not that complicated. Upgrading your HFM applications will under go a schema upgrade, that is changes on the relational database tables. Have not come up to any problems upgrading HFM applications, the only key concern you should have is the security. From HFM 4.x to System 9 there is a change in how security is managed. Security for users and groups (and security classes also) used to be handled inside the HFM, now they are all managed by Shared Services. Shared Services manages the security for all Hyperion applications in System 9. Worst case scenario in upgrading is recreating the security for each of you HFM apps. that is provisioning users and groups, your security classes will be intact.
If you have any more specific questions let me know.

  • I just upgraded my system to Mountain Lion. If I restore my Macbook Pro back to the very beginning state, will the Mountain Lion be removed or not? Thank you

I just upgraded my system to Mountain Lion. If I restore my Macbook Pro back to the very beginning state, will the Mountain Lion be removed or not? Thank you

The only problem that I forsee is that some have reported problems getting machine-specific builds of Lion via Internet Recovery. Not sure if it's working yet or not. But you could give it a shot, I suppose. Basically what you want to do is 'prepare your computer for resale' - just like it came out of the box. Kappy, a pretty wonderful and very knowledgeable man, has tip for that which I have copied and will paste below:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
        1.    Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
        2.    After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
        3.    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
        4.    Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Before upgrading my system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion I had taken a backup of iPhoto in my external drive. But now when I try to open that package, I'm directed to app store to buy new iPhoto. How can I retrieve my photos without buying iPhoto?

Before upgrading my system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion I had taken a backup of iPhoto library in my external drive. But now when I try to open that package, I'm directed to app store to buy new iPhoto. Why would apple install iPhoto by default with Snow Leapord and make us import all our photos in it at the first place, and now ask for money if we want to retrieve our photos back on mountain lion? What if they make contacts a paid app with the next OS upgrade, and then bully us to pay money if we want our contacts? This is something very dissappointing on Apple's part. I need answers here.

I fail to remember if the installer gave me an option to keep my applications.
The Mountain Lion installer will not delete applications. It will only mark applications, that are not compatible with your current system with a "forbidden" sign in the icon. And you cannot launch them.
Does your iPhoto icon in the Applications folder look like this?
Then your iPhoto version is incompatible and cannot run with Mt. Lion. If it is iPhoto '11, with a versionnumber starting with 9.x.x., you can upgrade it by downloading a newer version from the Apple downloads site  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1650.
But if you have 8.x.x, you need to buy an upgrade.

  • My Mac has a OS X operating system. (10.6.8) How can I upgrade its system to Mountain Lion so I can then add the ICloud?

My Mac has a OS X operating system. (10.6.8) How can I upgrade its system to Mountain Lion so I can then add the ICloud? Also, does the ICloud include virus protection for files already on my Mac?

You can purchase and download Mountain Lion in the App Store (in your 'Applications' folder), then just run the installer: however you should first check that Mountain Lion can indeed run on your Mac. Please see this page:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
You might also want to look at this page to see whether any vital applications will be adversely affected:
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
In particular note that PPC applications such as AppleWorks will not run on Mountain Lion since Rosetta is not included and can't be added.

I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8, and I need to download Adobe Digital Editions. Is there any way to download an earlier version so I don't have to upgrade my system?

    OT,
I have the exact same question as heathy32 (I just want to get a photobook ordered, but I'm currently running iPhoto 7.1.5 with OS X 10.6.8 and discovered right at the end of the process of making this photobook that it's no longer supported with the versions I have) but I just wanted to check something with you before I proceed with the iLife 11 disk...
Namely: do I need download the iPhoto Library Upgrader first?
There seem to be issues discussed in other forums about the Upgrader, I want to make sure I don't do something like downloading it if that isn't strictly necessary.
I am perfectly happy just to install iPhoto 9 and upgrade to 9.2.3 using the updater you link to, just so long as I can get a photo book printed!
Once that is safely out of the way, I intend to upgrade to Maverick etc.
    Your thoughts very welcome
    Thank you.

Just upgraded my system to snow leopard...now when I open documents from my memory stick, its in 'pages' not word...how do I fix that??

Did you click on the little triangle? Did you select one of the document files before pressing COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window? If the panel is closed it looks like this:
If you then click on that little triangle gadget you get this:
A temporary solution is to CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the document file, navigate to the Open With item, and select from the sub-menu.
The first method makes the association permanent. This method only applies to the currently selected document.

  • Need help on upgrading operating system from Mac OSX 10.3.9

We have a Imac G5 with Mac OS X v 10.3.9. We want an upgrade to run new ILife stuff. We don't know what we are doing.
What should we get to update the operating system, where, and how do we upgrade the system?
Are there any particular requirements that my computer will need? How do I know that I have them?
Is there anything in particular in the System Profile that I need to make sure that I have?
    Thanks.

You don't say what iMac G5 you have, but here's the *Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard installation system requirements* http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24950 You may have to increase your RAM. A minimum of 1GB is recommended. If you click on About This Mac, you will see how much RAM is currently installed.
Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store *but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753)*.

  • What is an upgrade distribution system?

In Apple discussion document 2465 [  https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2465  ] I found this question and answer:
Q: Are there any pitfalls to watch out for?
A: With all upgrades, backing up your data at least twice has been a given.  Hardware can fail independently of downloads and upgrades, though may happen simultaneously.  Software may be found to be incompatible that has not been tested with the new upgrade, or combination of other software that might be installed with the upgrade.  It is also strongly recommended once your backup is complete, to shut down your computer, remove all but Apple wired keyboard and mouse (notebooks remove all input devices).  Then once done, reboot, and go directly to the upgrade distribution system available.
Third party system tools, modification, and "maintenance" applications should be verified as compatible, or removed until known to be compatible.  Check with developers how to remove if it is essential to use Lion before those applications become compatible.  Most "maintenance" tools that deal with system cache, prebinding, are not really maintenance tools.  Ask on forum when are the appropriate times to use them before assuming they should be used for upgrades or otherwise.
What is an upgrade distribution system?
    Thanks.

Well, if you happen to have several computers that run the same versions of software
and have similar need to upgrade them, essentially offline to not duplicate the costs of
bandwidth activity (and thus perhaps lose access due to overage fee or penalty) the
idea to download copies in a more traditional sense may be more difficult than with the
previous versions of OS X. With up to three Macs at similar OS X version build series,
it made sense to save all of the download compressed document or application files to
share with the other computers, to install & update them offline. And fully restore them
should the need arise, with complete copies of upgrade & updates, saved offline.
Now these require an Apple ID and other steps, the path isn't quite as clear. There may
be a path but it isn't as simple as copying a .zip file to a USB flash drive, and plug that
drive into another Mac, and drag the file to its desktop in Finder. It may be that simple
if you were to get the download without the baggage of ownership tags it may imply.
This is an area I haven't gotten into much, with only one Mac tied to an Apple ID.
The latest OS X is Mavericks 10.9.5, it is OK. I don't push it much with only 4GB RAM.
And the other computers mostly run Leopard 10.5.8. One Tiger 10.4.11. Another that
is seldom turned on, Mac OS8.6 (PowerMac 7600.) None are networked by server.
You could say I kinda made a mistake and kept a new old-stock Mini quad core server
that was ordered in December, so here it is. Although it asks on occasion for me to get
the AppleCare Plan, and extra RAM (it can use 16GB) it has two 1-TB HDDs. Sadly
both are only 5400-RPM rotational, not 7200-RPM; to supplement data transfer time.
Anyway, if you get a fair deal on a refurbished or new-old-stock i7 Mini quad core, it
may be a server model with dual hard drives. You could upgrade them & the RAM too.
And choose to not use the Server. With less RAM, now discontinued model runs OK
with the as-shipped Mavericks. Older stock was said to have Mountain Lion. Better yet
in situation where RAM and system resources are less. Yosemite likes even more...
Well, have fun with it, if possible...
    Good luck & happy computing!
