How does one update Flash? I currently cannot watch videos on You Tube, it says I need to upgrade, I have no problem doing this on a PC.
If you're not using chrome you can just go to adobe's website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) and download the newest flash player. You run the .dmg and then open the application, which updates flash. With the latest version of flash there should be a preference pane within system preferences to allow you to change settings and check for updates.

I run Tiger OSX on one MacBook and SnowLeopard on another. Photos were downloaded from Tiger to SnowLeopard, and now iPhoto won't open on the Tiger Mac. Will upgrading iPhoto fix this problem?
What matters is the version of iPhoto you have on the different machines. Can you tell us what they are, and what exact error message you get.

7.01 to 7.3 Upgrade - Logon Screen - "Logon Problems? Get Support" occuring
Hi
We have upgrade our ABAP and JAVA stacks from NW 7.01 to NW 7.3.
After the upgrade is the "Logon Problems? Get Support" occuring on our portals logon screen. In 7.01 this was controlled with the parameter ume.logon.logon_help - however after the upgrade we do not see this parameter anymore.
Screen dump (requires a couple of clicks)
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c26d20b/n/Portal_Logon_Page_Issue.jpg
Any idea about how we remove the "Logon Problems? Get Support" part?
Thanks and kind regards,
TorbenHi Torben,
On my fresh 7.3 installation, everything is clean and ... fresh ...
So, for example, the built in group AnonUsers only has the user Guest as it's solely relation (no parent, no child groups); the guest user has the Guest role, which has (via it's groups) roles Everyone and Guest; onbly the role Everyone as got UME actions.
All together, this sounds much like an upgrade issue (on my fresh 7.3, there is no group "J2EE_GUEST" at all).
Two possibilities to go:
- Open an OSS message (should be done in any case probably, to report this issue to SAP, so that this can be fixed);
- Check the UME consistenty by yourself (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/44/aecb4253217037e10000000a422035/frameset.htm)
Maybe the second point already will fix some things; would be great for you, anyhow, I still would advise to report this issue officially to SAP.
Hope it helps

I am really struggling to like this upgrade, but the screensaver problems are so disappointing...I have tried most of the suggested solutions but the outsized photo problem still persists on my ipad. Pretty close to a deal breaker! Please fix this, Apple. I really wish I had not upgraded...can it be undone? I really dislike the camera roll, too : (
No one from Apple monitors these forums, so it isn't the place to voice complaints or suggestions. Go here:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
It's the best place to make complaints, recommendations, or just mention stuff.
There's a screensaver with iOS? I don't think so. -
Software upgrade, sync and performance problems.
When upgrading to the new iPhone software 4.0. on my iPhone 3G all my pictures captured on my iPhone during the last year has disappeared.
No backup is available in iTunes and the previous upgrades did NOT delete any content in the iPhone. Why did this change and how do I get the pictures back??
The phone is also gradually getting slow - opening a text message takes 5-8 sec this is also not acceptable.
I am a big Apple fan and has been very happy the last 6 years but the iPhone is currently not a product I would recommend to anyone. I also don't recommend SW upgrading since performance keeps going down with the introduction of fancy new features.
Any help/suggestions is appreciated, thanksNot sure why the photos in the Camera Roll are not included with your iPhone's backup, which has nothing to do with installing the firmware update. This means something was wrong with the backup for your iPhone. I didn't lose any data on my 3G when installing 4.0, but I always import the photos in the Camera Roll especially before installing a firmware update.
Although photos in the Camera Roll are included with the iPhone's backup or should be, so is a significant amount of other data. Photos in the Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Not a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup and your iPhone alone for this data which can be lost or stolen. I've always imported photos from every digital camera I've used and the same with my iPhone's digital camera, which should be treated the same as any other digital camera for a number of reasons.
Contacts are also included with your iPhone's backup or should be, but contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book application on your computer and should be available on your computer with or without an iPhone or with or without any cell phone. I've helped countless people here who manually enter all contacts on their cell phone and depend on their cell phone alone for this important data, which can be lost or stolen.
Problems like this certainly did exist a few years back. Hardware can fail, data transfer can fail or get corrupted, and user error or not taking precaution when important data is involved. There are many more people here that don't maintain a backup for any important data on their computer's hard drive than do.
Losing important data is painful, but painful lessons are usually learned the best. Things can and do go wrong. For future reference, import the photos in the Camera Roll ASAP, and especially before installing a major firmware update when the transfer of an existing backup is involved. -
Upgrading to Tiger Installer problems
Ok, thanks in advance for giving a glance, and, Happiest of Holidays.
I did search and still doesn't fit my situation...
Upgrading to Tiger-retail box from OWC. I use an external partinioned 200g firewire drive as a B/U and bootable OS/software tester before installing on the Pismo. The drive has 10G space available on the bootable OS partion.
Start the Tiger DVD installer it begins and after installing Base System part 1 and moving to Running Installer Script the process stalls; doesn't crash - just stops: The FW drive stops blinking and the DVD stops spinning....
OK maybe i overlooked something etc... Have to erase the OS partition; clone 10.3.9 from the pismo to it and start again. This time do all the checks: Run disk utility, Tiger cache cleaner etc... all works well, even boot and work on the drive for a few days. Start the upgrade process again, stalls at the exact same place. I want to run Tiger on the FW drive prior to the Pismo to check it out and i don't relish the thought of having to start from scratch if problems occur installing on the Pismo....
This time i printed the log file which i include below.
I called OWC tech dept. - they said i probably don't have enough disk space for the process... the process told me it only required 3.5G. They didn't offer any further knowledge.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Peace

Due to a misunderstanding with [email protected] in September of 2010, many of my applications and important files were put into the trash during a cleaning. The trash hadn't been deleted, so a CleanApp rep told me to drag my important files to a folder on my desktop. They were unable to help me with anymore advice with the exception that if I followed the pathway of the application, I could manually restore it to its proper location.
This was asking a lot of me because I didn't have the experience or knowledge of undertaking such a massive restoration. However, I did the best I could. What had been put in the trash was not just a few files -- there were hundreds of files or apps that I discovered in the trash. As I said, this was a misunderstanding. I was left feeling devastated at what had happened.
Since then, my iMac Intel Core Duo has been running on its last legs. I'm surprised I can even get to my email. As far as using the software that I bought with my iMac, I can't. I just do the basics.
What I have been wanting to do is to upgrade to the next level. However, I worry that if I upgrade a crippled OS X 10.4.11 Tiger, I would be creating more problems than what I already have. Do you agree that an upgrade would make matters worse?It won't necessarily make it worse, but may not make it better. I am not familiar with the utility you usedm though anything that cleans or maintains your Mac should be avoided unless you know what you are doing and what it does. Probably re-installing software from the official sources (download or CDs) is the best way to ensure missing parts are all replaced.
If this is a core duo and not a core 2 duo then the highest you can go is Snow Leopard 10.6 Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present). -
Upgrade to Netweaver causing problem while opening pdf file in the portal
After an upgrade to Netweaver 4.0, the following code for opening a pdf file constructed from a byte stream passed from an RFC fails.
Document doc = new Document(PageSize.A4);
javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse myResponse = request.getServletResponse(true);
myResponse.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment;filename=\"AIPDoc.pdf\"");
myResponse.setContentType("application/pdf");
ByteArrayOutputStream baosPdf = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
OutputStream os = myResponse.getOutputStream();
os.write(pdfResult);
PdfWriter.getInstance(doc, os);
It throws a "file not found error" on opening directly. However, if saved and viewed; it opens fine. I believe we need to specify the portal url in the filename but not sure.
Thanks,
DevinaHi Devina,
We are also opening a pdf file constructed from a byte stream passed from an RFC. Our problem is that we are experiencing inconsistent results. The file appears to open on some PC workstations but not on others. When it doesn't work we simply get a blank screen in the window. Did you resolve your issue? If so, perhaps you can provide us with some suggestions for solving our problem.
Thank you,
Angie -
Upgrade to ECC6.0 problem

3PETG447 Table and runtime object "RFIDPTFCATAG" exist without DDIC reference ("Transp. table")
Long text:
Cause
A runtime object was found for a table which is unknown in the ABAP
Dictionary. The table contains data, which is why, as a precaution, the
runtime object was not deleted.
Since there is a runtime object, this means the table was once created
in the ABAP Dictionary. The fact that the table can no longer be found
in the ABAP Dictionary could be due to the following reasons:
It is a customer-specific table which was created when the correction
system was switched off.
Depending on the history of your system, there may also be SAP tables
which were not deleted completely, or for which only the runtime object
was delivered without the related definition in the ABAP Dictionary.
System Response
What to do
RESET N1
Customer-specific tables
If it is a customer-specific table, and you still need the data, try to
restore the table in the ABAP Dictionary. Note the specified table type
when you do this (transparent table, pool table, and so on).
The table may still, for example, be contained in the version database.
You can access version management through the menu "Utilities" in the
in the ABAP Dictionary (transaction SE11). You may also still have a
copy of the system that still contains the table definition. You can
also display the runtime object and create the table according to the
field names, types and lengths specified in the definition. You can
display the runtime object in the menu "Extras" of the database utility
(transaction SE14).

RapheephanDear Rapheephan
I search AGS Global message as same as your problem.
this is rely from AGS.
but there is still no confirmation to solve this problem by this rely
Please re-review SAP Note 69455 specifically section 3. Upgrade behavior
and section 4. Combination with Add-ons for resolution.
This section explains your error messages and how it can be remedied
post upgrade. As stated in the note:
3. Upgrade behaviour
During system upgrade the addon ST-A/PI gets lost just like standard
coding ("passive deletion"). No restrictions on upgrade target
releases or similar. Choose "Passive deletion" whenever the upgrade
asks you about ST-A/PI. You do not need the files of ST-A/PI for the
target release during the upgrade. You do not need to update an old
ST-A/PI prior to an upgrade.
4. Combination with other add-ons
After upgrade you may find messages like 'Table /SSF/.. exists
without DDIC reference' concerning service tool tables in the
CHK_POSTUP phase or in DB02. These are harmless and most easily
solved by implementing ST-A/PI on the new release. Then run report
RTCCTOOL and follow the recommendation 'Procedure after upgrade'
(takes 2 clicks from inside the tool).
Combination with other add-ons
All combinations of ST-A/PI with all other addons are released. No
conflicts with any other support package or addon.
To prevent any possibility of conflicts or interference with
productive transactions, ST-A/PI objects are in independent separate
namespaces /SSF/+/SSA/ (transaction codes ST12-ST14 and report
source RTCCTOOL are the only exception to this rule).

Upgraded to Yosemite, some problems with user switching
If I had to do it again, I would do a clean install....
I upgraded my iMac (circa 2009) to Yosemite so that my wife can connect her iPhone to the computer and copy her photos. (Doesn't seem like we need to do that with iCloud?)
Yosemite was very slow. Anytime we launched a new app, login anything, tt was slow. But usually after the app is launched, it would be much better.
I tried to repair permissions, and deleted the print drivers. Thing sped up, except most noticeably in switching users.
When I select a different user, it would take a few minutes before it would switch. In the meantime, the computer would operate normally. I pasted the EtreCheck below. Any help would be appreciated.
Do you think it's time for a fresh install? more memory?
Problem description:
Upgraded iMac 2009 to yosemite. Things were very lagggy. Deleted print drivers, and reset permissions. Somethings were better, but trying to switch users would take a few minutes.

Significant slowdown of Time Machine after upgrade to Lion; indexing problem
After upgrading to Lion over the weekend I notice a significant slowdown of Time Machine processing. I assumed the first backup or two would take some time but it's been a couple of days. The process always hangs up at the "Indexing backup" stage. It takes a couple of hours to finish.
I found several threads relating to slowed down backups on Lion, most seem to hang at the "Preparing" stage (not the same symptom) but I did find some good diagnostic pointers. I installed the widget to see what kind of messages were being produced and found a few dozen "Waiting for index to be ready (100)" messages at the end of the stream. Further research - this is not a good thing :-) It seems a couple of such messages can be ok, but this many usually indicates a problem. I'm going to discount the possibility of a hardware failure because everything was perfectly fine up to the point I made the upgrade. Plus the prepare and copy seem to proceed at the expected speed (I watched the most recent cycle just to be sure).
Here is the full message log (it's still running at the moment):

I further found the advice and instructions on how to run the disk utility on the sparsebundle. I did a verify and repair, and the results came back that the drive appears to be ok (it did not say that it explicitly repaired anything).
But the problem remains.
I use a 1TB Time Capsule with plenty of free capacity (only half full). The TC and my MacBook are both hardwired into the home network, networking speed has never been an issue.
I'd sure hate to delete the backup file and start from scratch, there's over a year's worth of data there and I have, occassionally, wanted to go in there and pick up a downlevel or subsequently deleted file.
Any advice on other diagnostics or repair options to take? Thanks!
PaulAfter posting I decided to keep trying to slog my way through the troubleshooting guide. Some of the steps are beyond my understanding but I did follow the advice in #D2 to delete the .Spotlight-V100 file from the sparsebundle. That action does seem to have done the trick, the backups are now completing in normal time. I ran a couple just to be sure. I've verified the backups with BackupLoupe and entered the Time Machine, all appears to be in order and as expected. The only odd side effect is that the backup volume is no longer ejected after completion but that might just be an artifact of all my mounting/de-mounting and playing with Finder. Anyway a very small price to pay for what looks to be a working system again.
Hopefully the good behavior will last through a few days and a few reboots :-)
ps - if you're reading this and don't know about the troublshooting guide it's here: http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html (thanks pondini) -
IQ524 Upgrade to win 7 problems
Still unresolved problems with win7 upgrade and after 5 weeks of attempting to get through on the help line showing on the instructions still no results. Now when you call the help line it says it is a private number. What is that all about. This stinks. This win 7 upgrade program is a bust. Also note that alot of vendors still do not support win 7 with updated drivers for devices including the newer HP office network printers. Beware of the upgrade windows beast.
I guess my last post was dropped for the message board for some reason.
Message Edited by jimbjr on 11-21-2009 02:44 PMHot off the press. The 1-888-447-0150 is supposeldy not a good number that was printer on the win 7 upgrade package instruction sheet. I used another number from off the HP.com web site. They could not offer a solution either and will get back with me when they may have an answer to the problem by e-mail. Okay.

After Upgrade to 8.0, problems with album purchases.
O.K., ever since I upgraded to 8.0, I have had problems with two albums I purchased after the 8.0 upgrade. Once I start to play the album, the first 2 to 3 songs will play then before the next one starts, my iPod Classic with stop and restart with the Apple logo. What is going on? I have restored my Ipod and deauthorized and reauthorized my PC but the issue is still here.
After the firmware update had problems with the work of iPhone 4a, late for work for 3 days and I was deprived of the annual premium, and I can not buy a new Iphone.
