Upgrading to latest IOS on my iPhone and iPads appears to have ruined the ease of using airplay
Airplay used to be just playing a video and hitting the drop down box to select my apple TV, then I allowed the latest IOS version on my iPhone and iPads...now the drop down box at the video (you tube, etc) is gone and I have to swipe UP on screen to select the apple tv option and mirroring....except 9 out of 10 times it auto-transfers back to the iPad/iphone setting and fails to work. On youtube, from my iPhone I often get "can't play video" or error message I NEVER got before updating to the latest IOS.
This is really a buggy platform now that impacts MULTIPLE apple products!
Anyone having this issue?

That will be due to a network issue, which can come at any time
If on wifi, try Ethernet
To see a status of the network, go to istumbler , netstumbler or similar to get a report. Look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks

Try a new SIM from your carrier. If that doesn't work, make a Genius Bar appointment and get your phone evaluated.

I've just set up my mac Mail to receive my hotmail. It's now trying to download the whole of my hotmail account of 20,000 emails! I only want it to show the latest 200 (like on iPhone and IPad) Is there anyway to control this?
On your iPad, just go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, etc.>Add account>iCloud and put in the details of the account you set up. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

I have started getting spammed on multiple Apple products (iPhone and iPad) with FaceTime calls since the recent IOS update. Is there any feature or setting I can use locally to restrict incoming calls to a FaceTime account without going to the carrier?
After calling AT&T tech support one more time, and explaining to them that the glitch was on their network, they admitted that the problem was at their tower...
I continued to use the phone on EDGE mode for two more days until the problem was fixed.
I even got a call back from a tech support guy asking me if my phone was working properly....
I wish they would have admitted to the problem before I sat at the apple store for 2 hours. -
I have inherited my partner's old iPhone and iPad. I have successfully created a new iTunes account and got my user name and passwords accepted on both devices. However, I don't know how to change the user details for iCloud on the iPhone. I have done it (I think!!) on the iPad but would appreciate any help for getting my details for iCloud onto the iPhone so I can start sharing photos between the two devices.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID) -
I had previously purchased the programs "Pages" and "Numbers" and they are on my iPhone and iPad I was told that the programs would automatically copy a version of itself for the iMac to be running them but I don't see it installed. How can I install for free? I see that I could go to the apple store and purchase them again but I belibve that since I had already purchased them; I would get a free copy for my Imac. Whoever told you that was misinformed or lying. Those applications are sold separately for the iOS platform and the Mac platform.
Go to the Mac App Store to purchase Pages and Numbers for your Mac. They're $20 each. If you are running an older version of Mac OS X that can't use the Mac App Store, you can purchase install media from Apple. -

Your iCloud account has 5GB space for email, for calendar and contacts syncing, for iWork documents and for iOS backups - all these live on the sever. Both devices access the account; the 5GB space they make use of is the same and is on the server. It's not a case of two spaces, one for each device.

How do I reestablish hotmail delivery to my iPhone and iPad after I have been locked out? I have reestablished service to my PC, but cannot get email on other devices, even after updating to new passwords.
Sometimes it is fruitless to try to "fix" a broken account on an iOS device. I would delete the account on both devices and then configure the account again from scratch.

my apple tv was working fine untill the AirPlay option disappeared. I haven alterd the settings and have tryed rebooting both iPhone and ipad. That's a new feature introduced in iOS 8 called Handoff. You can start something on your iPhone and finish it on your iPad or Mac. You can make the iPad stop ringing by going to Settings>FaceTime on the iPhone and toggling off iPhone Mobile Calls. You can do it on the iPad also.

I own a 13-inch MacBook Pro and for the past day, my wifi on my laptop says I only have two bars of connection and is running very slow,but all of my other devices such as my iPhone and iPad are connecting perfectly to the wifi. How can I fix this? I have tried to shut my laptop off and let it rest and I have also re-started my wifi router three different times. Someone please help me with this problem so I can begin to use my laptop again as I take it to school and use it for class.
Thanks so much!FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
-Close FCP
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
-Empty your trash
Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.

I can call my ipad with my iphone alll the time. That's how I check up on my kids at home when I"m at work. You just set up to your iphone's facetime setting with your phone number and set up your ipad's facetime settings with your apple id (in this case it's your email)

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.
