UPGRADING USING A DATA LINE? LOOK HERE!!

If you're using a data card's upgrade to get the iPhone, if you go to Apple.com and check your eligibility, It'll tell you that you don't have the right voice plan, but if you go to Verizonwireless.com, it'll say that you are eligible to upgrade to the iPhone. None of us are sure if the upgrade system will support using a data cards upgrade will work. If you just want to make sure, all you have to do is activate an old phone on your data line and it will change it to the $9.99 secondary line plan, and then it will say you're eligible for an upgrade on both sites. It won't let you do it online, you have to call, and if you're under a contract with your data card still, you can't change it to a voice plan. But if you just want to make sure you get yours at 3am, I would suggest activating an old phone under your data cards line so that the system recognizes it as a regular phone, guaranteed to work.

Set up the Read module to only read once per second or minute....
If you're reading a DDF file, it will always read back a full block of data, so you want to have stored the data at one sample/block. One way to do that is to read it back and write is out as ASCII, so that DASYLab loses the block size context.

  • Use Cellular Data

What is the meaning of "Use Cellular Data" in Settings > Music (iOS 5.1 and iTunes Match)? I tried to switch off this option, but I was still able able to download a song from iCloud using Cellular Data.

I enabled iTunes Mach on my iPhone, however the "Settings > Music > Use Cellular Data > Off" described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4913
However it does not work as expected, and data continues to download iTunes Match data over 3G.
This unfortunately meant that last weekend I exceeded my mobile data quota by over 2GB when my phone continued downloading the entire day in the background. This issue has cost me $AUD499 in excess data usage charges, for something I explicitly looked for a setting to prevent!

  • Can you upgrade an non smartphone line to the iPhone 5, than move it to an unlimited data line?

Here's what I'm trying to do:
We have three iPhone 4's and two basic phones (5 lines total).  I want to upgrade the basic phones to the iPhone 5 with a 2gb option, then when they come, move those phones to the lines that currently have unlimited data, then move the basic phone back to the other lines, and then cancel the 2gb option.
    Would that work?
I've been told it would, but then a csr told me it wouldn't.  That the data option travels with the phone.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

Here's my scenario and what I was told.
If anyone is on an older family plan like I am, here's the solution that came straight from Verizon customer service. You can call them to verify.
I'm currentyly on the 1400 minute family plan. Have 2 smartphones (with Grandfathered unlimited data) and 2 basic phones on the plan. We wanted to upgrade and of course like everyone did not want to lose unlimited data. So I called Verizon 3 or 4 times and threatened to leave when finally I got to the right person.
First, you have to be eligible for upgrade. Transfer or use the upgrade for one of the basic phones on the basic phone line. You'll have to go through the whole process of selecting data for that phone etc... Select the minimum for everything. If you order online your total should come to $349 for the 32gb i5 after taxes and fees. Once you receive the iPhone, you'll activate it on the basic phone line. Then turn straight around and reactivate the basic phone on that same line. The plan will go back to a basic plan for that phone and will leave the i5 open to use on any other line on your plan. Then just transfer your phone line to that phone and you're all set. No change in that lines plan, just a change in phone, thus your unlimited data remains.
Double bonus for me, I'm on a promotional $9.99 per month for unlimited data on my line. It doesn't end until Feb. 2013 so I don't loose that either!
Only question I have now after reading other posts and forums is do I actually activate the phone to the basic phone line or once I receive the phone do I activate it on my smartphone line? Seems to be conflicting opinions on this!!
    ***UPDATE: 9/20/12  9:54am EST
Just had a chat with Verizon online. Below is what I was told:
info: Please hold for a Verizon Wireless sales
representative to assist you with your order.  Thank you for your
      patience.
info: You are now chatting with 'Faith'
Faith: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat
service.  May I help you with your order today?
Chris: Hi I recently received advice from customer
service about a method to use to keep my unlimited data for the smartphone
lines. After reading some of the forums i'm seeing conflicting info. I'd like
to verify with you what I was told
Faith: The only way to keep that unlimited data
will be to buy the phone at full retail price
Chris: I was told by 2 different reps that i could
update one of the basic phone lines on our plan to the iPhone 5
Chris: then when i get the phone activate it on the
      basic line
Chris: then, reactivate the basic phone on that line
and it would open up the i5 to use on any other line
Faith: Yes you can do that as well if that line
has an upgrade you can put it on the line that has the unlimited data and
      keep that
Chris: the conflicting comments i see is do I activate
the i5 on the basic line once i receive it and then switch it over to the
      unlimited data line?
Chris: Or when i get the phone can i just activate it
      on the unlimited data line?
Faith: You will activate the phone on the line with
the unlimited data when you get the phone however you will need to call into
      customer service to do so
Chris: and in doing that i will NOT lose my unlimited
data? Because i'm not changing that lines plan. Just the phone. Is that
      correct?
      Chris: Still there?
Faith: Yes I am here and no you will not lose the
data that is why you need to call in once the phone comes and let customer
      service activate it for you
Chris: Gotcha. Thank you so much for the help. Last
question. Once i activate the phone on my unlimited data line, do i have to
do anything on the basic line or will nothing change for it since the i5 was
      not activated on that line?
Faith: That line should remain the same since it
will not be activated on that line. Are you ready to begin and I will help
      you?
Chris: I haven't received the i5 yet. Status says it's
scheduled to ship Oct. 5th. I've already ordered based on the other reps
telling me about this process to keep the unlimited data. I just wanted to
make sure this was acurate prior to activating the phone when i receive it.
Faith: Do you have any further questions today?
Chris: No you have been very helpful. Thank you for
      all the help!!
Faith: It has been my pleasure to chat with you
today! Please feel free to re-open the chat session if you need further
assistance . Thank you and have a great day!
      Faith: Sorry

  • Upgrade project : from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 by using SAP Data Services

    Hi All,
My client is upgrading from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0
We are planning to use SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in the upgrade plan from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 for Data Migration.
we have no idea whether we can use this SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in SAP upgrade data migration.
The bottom line is we have to make use this Data Services (Data Integrator) product in our upgrade plan for Data Migration.
Please tell us if anybody already used it such kind of scenario in a data migration project with Data Services(Data Integrator).
If we can use Data Service(Data Integrator) what are the pros and cons in using this Data Services(Data Integrator).
    Thank You,
    Ashok

My opinion is you would want to utilize SAP tools to port the data - our SAP BASIS administrator is out this week but we can provide exact tool names when he returns.  ELM (External List Management), IDOC are some of the tools.
You could use DS/DI to export, cleanse, deduplicate the records prior to importing with SAP tools if that is your end goal.
We also offer a data quality tool that extends DS/DI to cleanse/deduplicate name/address records as they are entered into the system.  It also comes with batch tools to cleanse/dedup the entire systems name/address information.  See Data Quality Management for SAP for further details.

  • I was wondering, would be able to use my eligible upgrade on 1 phone line to buy a phone for another line?

Hey, I was wondering if I would be able to use my eligible upgrade on one phone line to buy a phone for another line?.
Also, I saw a commercial on TV about getting a plan with 10 gb of data for like 130 a month, that does include the cost of both phones instead of 130 + 40 + 40 for each smartphone on the line?...

The $130 price is actually $110 and is for 2 situations, none of which involve subsidized contract upgrade.
    1) Edge payment plan. Cost of service is $110, but then the monthly phone payment added to that, usually around $25/phone
    2) phones out of contract, then it is $110 with no extra charges.
The the costs break down is $80 for data, and $15/line

  • My mac wifi connection to DSL line was down when I tried to upgrade Ipad to IOS6, and it defaulted to Ipad data line and consumed my monthly allotment of data -- How can that happen as a technical matter?

Maps did not work for me for the first week after upgrading to IOS6 on my New Ipad -- I have since learned that I exceeded my 2 gig monthly data plan and therefore I had no 4G access on my ipad, which meant Maps couldn't work while traveling.  Since I never download videos, I knew I had not knowingly downloaded that much data.  When I called AT&T, they told me that when I upgraded to IOS6 I consumed over 1 gig of data.
I did the upgrade while connected to my iMac, which in turn has a wireless connection to router connected to my home DSL line.   My wifi service has been spotty lately, possibly because router is defective.  So let's assume that when I tried to download IOS6 that my iMac did not have a good wifi connection.  Is the AT&T person correct that the download defaults to the Ipad's 4G cellular network, even though the iPad is connected to the iMac by USB cable?  I didn't think that was possible as a technical matter -- i.e., that the iMac gets automatic access to the iPad's connection to the cellular network.  (I'm sure I'm not explaining this right, I'm obviously not technical.)
Also, do you get any obvious warning or indicator on the device that you have exceeded your data limit for the month?  I sure didn't see any warning, (although I now know that I can go to Settings, then Cellular Data, then View Account and find the status of my data line account).
Thanks for any help on this.

Strange. It works fine with my setup which is no different from yours. Problem with the cable or LAN port(s)?

  • Send 102 bit data through the LPT port??I have to send 102 bit to my interface board using the LPT port, through one of the data line and be able to read data from the input line, I don't know how to realize such a task. Thanks

Let me describe you the program I have to write:
I have to send 102 bit serialy using one of the data line of the LPT port to a device and be able to read back data sent from a device register throug one one of the input port pin for instance pin 10 of a DB25, and synchronize the transmission by the PC clock(for write and read). If fact I am using 5 output control(D0...D4) signal from the LPT port, RST, TXD, CLK, CE,TEST, one input data RXD (pin10)
So the program should work in normal mode (write data, read data), and test mode (use the write p
rocedure). Since I am quite new in Labview I am little lost and I need some support or exemple that use a way to send more than 32 bit via one data line(in my case 102bit= 8 bit COMMAD(MSB)+88 bit SPI DATA+6 bits CRC(LSB)) and be able to read them back, place them in the register and be able either to monitor or modify them.
I know that there are plenty of exemple but if I can gain time by being helped it would be great.
    Can you please advise?

    Hi Beni,
find attached a SPI.vi - minor changed from one of
my typical SPI's (LabVIEW 7.1). With some simple changes it will fit to your application.
The only thing you need to do - prepare
    the bits for the input-array.
If you need some more comments - find one of my email
adresses in documentation of this vi.

  • How to use the "target Data lines"?

    Hello,
I want to program some DSP effects and filters with Java. I know to use the "Clip" and the "Sound" data lines in the Java Sound API, but it is difficult to me tu use the "target data lines" to do what I want to. So I have several questions :
I have found how to convert a clip to a target data line. I have understood how to get the int from the sounds via the target data line. But, when I have done the operations with this int, how to do again a sound from the int? Wich method must I use to "convert the int to a sound"?
Normally, oscillators and filters need to do an integration using the sample rate. Does anyone could give to me some exemples?
I have found code sources for C++ for DSP. Where could I find the same for Java?
Do you know a book about this subject, I did not find any?
    Thank you for your help.

My idea is to create a byte array from the audio clip via a ByteArrayOutputStream, then to create an int or a float, then do the operations, and then do another audio line from the new byte array. Am I wrong? This is correct, I believe.
This byte array will have a size of 16 (for PCM or wave files) surrely. Not necessarily. If you're using 16-bit samples for PCM data, then every 2 array positions will be "a sample". Your byte array will be 2 times the number of samples.
You'll want to pull the data 2-bytes at a time and do basiclly:
    byte[] data_in = new byte[2];
    myTargetDataline.read(data_in, 0, 2);
short sample = (data_in[0] << 8) + (data_in[1]);Then do whatever you want to your sample, and then write it back...
    byte[] data_out = new byte[] {
    (byte)(sample >>> 8),
    (byte)(sample )
mySourceDataline.write(data_out, 0, 2);I used a short instead of an int because it's 16-bit data, so it's a short. PCM may be an "unsigned" short, but you'll have to check into that yourself ;-)
To be perfectly honest, I've never done this so my sample code will probably need to be tweaked. But I hope it helps you get headed in the right direction, and gimme an update when you try it out.

I upgraded my MIFI 2200 (had no contract on it) to a Jetpack (with a contract) when customer service told me this 4G device would use less data because it was faster.  This was not correct.  Anyway, I got the device, had problems, did tech support, re-activated my MIFI.  1.  Decided to return the device. Spent hours with Customer Service, then finally up to Management, they agreed to take it back and void the contact, I sent it back immediately – and instead of voiding the contact they transferred it to my MIFI! Please cancel the contract on the MIFI. 2.  During the short time I had the Jetpack I continually received overage alerts, took it all the way up to 30 GB, each time I backdated the new data plan except twice when customer service did and failed to back date the increase, and once the computer locked customer service out and could not increase.  The end result is I have a $495 bill, many of these alerts were false since I ended up with only 14 MG for the month, etc.  I am asking that my bill be reduced significantly to reflect no overage and to compensate for these problems. Please open up a ticket for this.

I had Verizon JetPak and you will find it will eat data like crazy. I opted to sign on to ATT Uverse and configured my phones and other devices to the WiFi on the Uverse system. It took about 5 minutes to completed the configuration.  I was using 10 to 12 GB monthly to support 5 devices. Even if you use Verizon DSL, you are still subjected to same GB allotment.  In my area, Verizon DSL is not available. With Uverse, I have 250 GB monthly to use, and I have not even come close to using anything of that magnitude. I reduced my GB package with Verizon to 2 GB per month and since having ATT Uverse, I never use more than 1GB a month with Verizon.
I have no problem with Verizon cell phone service as we get a much stronger signal where we live than you can with ATT or any others.  It is just my opinion, but if you are running multiple devices off Verizon Jetpak, you will eventually spend a fortune to keep pace.  I pay $60 a month for 18 Mbps speed, although ATT have packages that cost much less. But, it saves me a bundle each month. The cost of Uverse alone is worth not having to run everything through a Jetpak.
If you have the  option to use another DSL service provider in your area, I recommend dumping the Jetpak and sign on with another carrier.

how do i remove this feature? where using google maps the input box has this in it( Enter your address line 2 here)/In hotmail new email on the enter page it reads (Enter your email here) .
You have the remove these statements before entering an address , and before sending an email or with the email it will stay on the email , google maps will not work.

    Try this -
    <img src="assets/jpgs/Prodigy Logo Large 2014.jpg" width="180" height="180" alt="" style="display:block;">
What you are seeing as whitespace is the space reserved for glyph descenders on any element that is rendered within a text box (i.e., an inline element). By making the image "display:block" you eliminate that space because a block element doesn't have descenders. If that works to your satisfaction then you can give the logo an id, and create a CSS selector containing that block style.

  • Will assigning a used phone to a line affect the upgrade eligibility on that line?

    Hi everyone,
I have three lines on my account, all of which were eligible for an upgrade. I just purchased new phones for two of the three. I would like to use one of the phones I'm replacing as the "new" phone for the third line. Would doing so reset the upgrade clock for this line, even though I'm not buying a phone for it?
    Thanks in advance.

No as long as you don't get subsidized phone(signing an agreement).  I have had my upgrade eligble for a long time on 2 of my 5 lines, and I tend to buy phones outright or ebay/craiglist to keep it that way.  My last two lines are available for upgrade, but are not out of contract yet.

  • Getting rid of data line, using existing phone for...

When I first needed a data line, line splitters were unreliable so I had a second phone line installed for the modem. Now it seems most people cope with data (even movie and tv downloads) and phone on one line. Cancelling the data line and running everything into the house on our 'main' phone would save us a monthly line rental, but is it a good idea? I welcome any advice – I haven't had to think about this sort of thing for at least 15 years!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

a second line is certainly not needed for data now the vast majority only use one line

You cannot. No Japanese carrier offers unlocking. You'll need to sell the phone and buy one you can actually use outside of Japan.
