Uplift of Jdeveloper Extension code from 10.1.1.3 to 11.1.1.4

Is there some sort of "Cookbook" for the uplift? I'm finding many classes have moved or are nolonger available. Any cross reference of packages/libraries etc?

Sorry, not that I'm aware of. Be more then happy to help find the new methods and libraries as you come across them though.
Just post up the issues and we'll help the best we can.

This interface shows as not found in Jdev11.1.1.4
#import oracle.ideri.importexport.ImportWizard; Does anyone know where it has moved, or what replaces it?

Did you get my answer on the internal forums this morning?
It's still in the same library.
    It's located by default in:

  • Creating java code from a class diagram in JDeveloper

I have created a class diagram in JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0. When I generated java code from the class diagram by right clicking on the class diagram->transform->same diagram->UML to Java, a .java file is generated with attributes and getters/setters, and also a .uml_cla file is generated. What is this .uml_cla file exactly and what is it used for? Also I have a package.uml_pck file that was created 3 times. I have a package of com.xxx.xxxx, and it put this package.uml_pck file in "com", in "xxx", and in "xxxx". Do I need to retain all 3 of these files in my project?
One more question related to this. When I change something in the java representation of the class diagram (i.e. a datatype), it updates the .java file that was generated from the class diagram, and it also works the other way...change the .java file and the java representation of the class diagram changes. However, the class diagram that the code was generated from does not change, nor does the mysterious .uml_cla file I asked about in the above paragraph.

This did work for me, with an exception. I have put the .java files generated from the class diagram in a different package from the .class_diagram file, the package.uml_pck file, and the .uml_cla file to keep the actual source code separate. When I modified the .java file and transformed the class diagram from java to UML, it created the package.uml_pck file and the .uml_cla files again in the same package as the .java file, and they show the update. The package.uml_pck file, and the .uml_cla file that were originally created and are in the separate package from the .java files were untouched, thus the class diagram displayed does not reflect the change either. Does this mean I should not, or cannot, separate these files, and that they all must be left in the same package? (the purpose of separating it in the first place was for ease of deployment since we don't want to deploy any of the class diagram files) Thanks!

  • Need help in DB2 JDBC connection from JDeveloper extension

    Hi,
I am using JDeveloper extension to build my application. Here in the preferences, I have a UI in which I need to specify DB2 database connection parameters for establishing JDBC connection. After copying the required driver jar and license jar to the extension folder and specifying the CLASSPATH in extension.xml file, I am able to get the DB Connection. But the issue here is, I do not want the user to copy the driver jars to the extension path and neither to hardcode the driver CLASSPATH in extension.xml. Instead, if the user loads the driver jar in the CLASSPATH using command line, after launching JDev plug-in, I need to still be able to connect to the DB2 JDBC which is not happening. I am getting the error which says "Missing class com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver". I have ensured that the CLASSPTH is set for the driver and licensing jars for DB2. How can I get rid of this error without specifying the classpath in extension.xml file.
    Thanks,
    Sudha.

  • JDeveloper extension : JDevLibsForAnt

    hi
I would like to be able to use Ant to compile and package my code, but I don't want to maintain libraries in two places, JDeveloper and Ant.
My first approach was to call JDeveloper from Ant using a custom JDeveloper extension that provides an MBean to "access" the JDeveloper extension API.
    http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/CallJDevApps-v0.01.zip
Although it "works", it is intended to be used from within JDeveloper.
My second approach was to have a custom JDeveloper extension automatically maintain an Ant build file on each library change in JDeveloper. This Ant build file can than be imported into another Ant build file.
    http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/JDevLibsForAntApps-v0.01.zip
Although this does what I want, I have a few questions:
    (1) What is the preferred way to get the "outputDirectory" of a Project (see LibrariesProjectChangeListener$MyJProjectPaths)?
    (2) How can I get notified of changes to my custom project options (see JDevLibsForAntOptionsPanel and LibrariesProjectChangeListener.isChangeLibraryRelated())?
All suggestions for improvement are welcome.
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

I was interested to read your dialogue because I too am trying to use Ant to automate the build and deployment of JDeveloper projects. I have to say that I'm a total newcomer to JDeveloper, Ant and Java, so much of what you're saying is way above my head!
I've achieved some degree of success with BPEL modules, mainly by using a <for> task to iterate over the build.xml files created by JDeveloper. However I'm coming unstuck with the non-BPEL bits; I know what keystrokes are required to tell JDeveloper how to do the job manually, but I have very little clue about what goes on under the bonnet when I initiate a deployment, so replicating it in my Ant project is well-nigh impossible; furthermore the build.xml files produced by JDeveloper for the non-BPEL stuff all seem to stop short of actually doing the deployment - either to a server or to jar/war/ear files.
I then came across the JDeveloper Ant task <jdev> at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/anttasks/index.html
which sounded as though it might help. However I encountered some difficulty in getting it to do anything useful other than simply firing up JDeveloper, so I am currently having a dialogue with its author, Gerard Davison at Oracle, to try and get some help. He also suggested a tool called ojmake, which is available in the jdev/bin directory of the Technology Preview for 11, which I've also tried playing with, but I can't get it to work in JDev 10.
Does anybody out there have any knowledge either of the <jdev> Ant task or ojmake, or of any other tools that might help in this situation?

  • How to move the code and deploy the code from Dev environment to SIT.

    Hi,
    I have a requirement.
I want to move the components and deploy the code from dev Environment to SIT environment using Ant Script for AIA.
Before doing this is any pre-requisites required?
Can you please help on this, how to do?
    Thanks in advance.

Further to add to Anish Statement follow the steps to easily migrate the code to different environment.
    Steps:
First log on to the EM Console and export the Composite Flow as a SAR file to a location.
In Jdeveloper create a project using the same name of a SAR file like - ProcessSalesorderFlow
import the project using the option import the composite using a SAR File.
After import , then click on the composite and then generate the config plan.
In config plan add all the url changes using the search and replace Tags.
And in case if you have a JCA Adapters the same has to be taken care in SIT environment why because during deployment a lookup happens and deployment fails if it dont find the JNDI Name.
Take the SAR file adn config plan seperately from JDeveloper.
Now open em console again and then deploy it using the config file and SAR file.
    Thanks,
    Venugopal SSS RAJA

I want to upload HTML code from an existing site and then revise in Muse. Is this possible?

HTML files from an existing site cannot be reused in Muse as Muse works only with files having extension as .muse.
However, you use apps like Dreamweaver to edit your existing HTML files.

  • Loading JavaFX code from string

(and so on)So I have the same issue.
Looks like something have been broken in 1.2... :-(
Of course, the tested scripts compile without problem.
If I put only my simple built-in script in the Test.fx file, it works... I can put an empty Stage in the script (it is displayed), but if I add an empty Scene to it, I have the same error.

  • JDeveloper Extensions

    Hi folks,
I'm (mostly for my own use/interest) developing a few JDeveloper extensions.
During development & testing of my extensions, I find that the IDE wraps & hides any exceptions that I don't handle. This is great behaviour for an end user who is using the extension, but makes life difficult during development. Is there any way for me to disable this behaviour so that any unhandled exceptions get delivered to me somehow (or should I be looking somewhere for this information)?
    Thanks,
    Chris
PS - If the answer changes based on version, I'm currently using the 10.1.3 preview release.

    Hi Chris,
There's no way to turn them on, I'm afraid. I'm on a personal crusade against the part of the JDeveloper implementation that causes this ;)
The reason you don't see stack traces is that we use an assertion mechanism (existed prior to Java 1.4) for printing stack traces. In our nondebug builds (e.g. production code released to customers), all usages of these assertion APIs are stripped out by our compiler.
Because of that, there's no way for you to see the stack traces unless you can get hold of a debug version of jdev.jar. Since we don't ship that, it's not possible.
One small possibility is to use the debugger and set exception breakpoints. However, this isn't very useful, since you need to know in advance what kind of exceptions are being thrown.
There are a couple of things I'm hoping to do in future to improve this:
    - Migrate to java.util.logging and 1.4 asserts instead of our own custom Assert implementation.
    - Possibly look into making the debug ide.jar / javatools.jar / jdev.jar available to extension developers. This would probably not be part of the base product, but in the separate esdk download. This would also make it far easier to debug your extension code (no more _slots in the data window).
    Thanks,
    Brian

    When you go into tools->preferences->extensions
Do you see the Oracle SOA Composite Editor extension in the list?
If not then it wasn't installed. Verify that you are downloading the right version of the extension according to the minimum required version.

  • How to create a database for sample code from Tutorial/Book?

I want to try out the sample code from [http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920013471.do] for the book SQL Pocket Guide 3rd Ed.
I have downloaded the oracle vm/appliance for oracle 11g2 and I have started sqlplus as sysdba.
I'm feeling overwhelmed with these links describing how to create a database:
    (1) What is the command to list the existing databases?
    (2) What is the command to delete an existing database?
    (3) When creating a new database with the create database command, is it necessary to specify the logfile, character set, national character set, datafile, sysaux datafile, undo tablespace, temp table space? Do these have reasonable defaults? I'm not sure what proper directories are to specify for Linux and the examples are for windows.
Can someone give me a simplified create database command to create a database called 3rdEdPocketGuide? Should I follow the example at [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Oracle-7-HOWTO-3.html] and instead of orcl use 3rdEdPocketGuide?
    (4) What command do I use to execute the script that comes with the book SQL Pocket Guide 3rd Ed? This is the script that has all the drop table, create table and insert commands in it.
    (5) What command do I use in sqlplus to set the current default database prior to running this script? Perhaps this is the connect command? I don't want my script to create tables in the system database.
    (6) I tried the command "connect 3rdEdPocketGuide" and it prompted for a password! Yikes! What password? Do I need to specify a password when I create a database? I cannot tell if I have successfully created such a database or it is just prompting me for a password to thwart malicious users. Is it is possible to create databases which don't require a password or maybe a zero length password?
    Thanks

I also found [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e10766/tdddg_connecting.htm#CEGHFHIG|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e10766/tdddg_connecting.htm#CEGHFHIG] but that did not help either.
    Everyone:
Do I need to create a user using SQL*Plus first so I can login with "Oracle SQL Developer" so I create my database called? What would be the "create user" command I would execute?
OK, so I run sqlplus and issue these commands
    create user siegfried identified by abc ;
    grant connect to siegfried ;
    connect siegfried/abc;
Now, how do I create a database? In Microsoft SQL Server one has to create a database first and if you just start creating tables without creating a database first, the tables will be created in the system database and this is usually undesirable.
Sometimes a database is known in the java connection string as the catalog. Is there any such analog in oracle SQL plus?
So now what do I do? I want to create a bunch of tables using my script I downloaded from 3rd Ed SQL Pocket Guide. Does my new user "siegfried" have the right to create tables? I guess I could try but I don't want to create tables in the system database.
I noticed I can also use "Oracle SQL Developer" to connect with my new "siegfried" account. It seems that I should have been able to connect with sysdba... strange.
So now I am connected in the "Oracle SQL Developer" and I see no list of databases.
    Thanks!
    Siegfried
    >Paul,
Thanks! I tried changing my profile name to siegfried but I'm not seeing the change...
Anyway, I'm trying your suggestion to use SQL Developer which was already installed in the virtual box appliance and I cannot figure out how to get a connection.
When I use the defaults of sid=xe, port=1521, hostname=localhost and specify
    username=sysdba
    password=
I get status: failure - test failed: listener refursed connection with the following error: ORA 12505, TNS: listener does not current know of sid given.
So I try sid=orcl and that works better: status: failure - test failed: ORA-01017: invalid username/passowrd; login denied
OK, sqlplus let me in with out a password, why does not this work?
So I try checking the box for "OS Authentication" and I get the same error!
Hoek: I tried searching the documentation and found "3 Exploring Oracle Database with SQL Developer" at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e10766/toc.htm but following those directions did not help. above does NOT use SQL*Net to connect to the instance

Siegfrieda database in SQL Server is same as schema/user in Oracle
