  • How to Programmatically Get Preferences from WebCenter Spaces

    Hi,
    I'm developing a custom task flow to be added to WebCenter Spaces 11.1.1.4.0 (PS3).
    Spaces provides a Preferences link where a logged in user can change his/her preferences such as language, time format, date format, and time zone. I would like my custom task flow code to honor these settings.
    Can someone point me to the right API or tutorial that explains this?
    Thanks.

  • Passing session parameter to a portlet from webcenter spaces page

    How do you pass a parameter to a portlet on a WebCenter Spaces page? For example, I have the user's company ID in the session, I need to pass that company ID to the portlet defined to accept a company ID parameter so that the returned data can be filtered.

    You can for example add the companyID to the url of the page and then pass that parameter to the parameter of your portlet.
    Have you created your portlet to enable inter portlet communication? You should first do that and create a navigation-parameter in the oracle.xml. If you don't know what i'm talking about, i'll explain a bit more.
    Their is another way, which is easier i think, is to set the value of your portlet parameter to an expression language refering to a session variabel.
    In you portlet parameter set the companyId (if you have created a navigation-parameter companyID) to following value:
    #{sessionScope.company}You will have to set the value of that session variable from within your webcenter spaces.
    How are you doing that? Are you planning on setting that variable using another portlet, taskflow,... This can be very important on how webcenter reactt on parameters and it can also give you additional ways on passing the parameters.

  • I purchased iWork apps for iPad (pages, numbers and keynote). How do I use MobileMe to upload docs from my PC to iPad?  Janet Frustrated

    I purchased iWork apps for iPad (pages, numbers and keynote).  How do I transfer files from my Laptop PC to the cloud for my iPad?  Thanks!  Frustrated Janet

    Greetings Janet,
    Read here: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/news/2010/09/iwork-for-ipad-apps-now-support-mobil eme-idisk.html
    Login to your iDisk on the windows machine and then click on the Home on the left.
    Upload whatever documents you want access to on your iPad to your iDisk.
    Once you have the desired files on your iDisk you go to the app on your iPad you wish to work with tap the sharing button (little arrow going down into a box) which will give you an "iDisk" option and you'll see the files there.
    Hope that helps.

  • Uploading docs from iPad to MacBook Pro via iCloud

    Why are my Pages documents not syncing with iCloud, and what do I do about it? I have iCloud turned On, Documents and Data turned On to store on iCloud, I have 24.3 GB storage available, and I have Use iCloud turned On in Pages. What else do I have to do?
    Once this is done, and assuming it works, why when I try to access the documents via iCloud on my MacBook Pro, am I being asked to buy Pages again (and being redirected to a page with Spanish instead of English)? Pages shows in my Apps on iTunes on this computer.
    Also, I am logged on with my me.com Apple User ID on both devices.
    iCloud is not the user-friendly solution it is advertised to be. My iDisk was working just fine.
    Can anyone help me? Thanks!

    Check out this conversation thread.  One has to physically upload a document into the Cloud, they do not 'auto sync'.  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3773754?tstart=0
    I hope this helps.

  • Error while exporting/uploading taskflow from JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0

    Hi all,
    From WebCenter Spaces Administration I downloaded a taskflow (mashup ->taskflow) as an .ear and imported it into JDeveloper.
    I applied a few changes then right-clicked taskflow-definition.xml on the application navigator and picked "Upload portal resource to server".
    JDeveloper crashes with an error, which I paste later.
    JDeveloper will return a similar crash/error when exporting the taskflow as an EAR.
    JDeveloper will work when uploading a skin (skin.css) to the very same server.
    It is a brand new installation of JDeveloper with the addition of the components/scripts found in the DesignWebCenterSpaces_PS5.zip package.
    I tried googling the errors and found no hits at all.
    Your help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    I did not touch any jars. They should be in their place. What I see from the project properties is that JSF 1.2 libraries are attached as before..

    Do anyone have any idea about this matter? I really don't know where to look at.

  • How to create a portlet in Jdeveloper and consume it in webcenter spaces

    Hello all,
    I need to create a portlet in which i will be passing the parameterized url and it will go on hit the third party application.After doing that i have to consume it in webcenter spaces where user can directly add that porlet and can do all his work of third party from webcenter spaces itself.
    Can anyone tell me how to make portlets and what all we need in Jdeveloper for creating the portlet.As well as i need some reference guide which let me help to create the portlets as well as consuming in webcenter spaces.
    Please Help !!!
    Thanks...

    Are you trying to expose an existing system inside of WCS?
    If this is the case, you should investigate "External Applications":
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e10149/config_svcs_prod_extapp.htm#WCSUG6698
    This is an out of the box way of embedding external systems, with seperate login pages etc. I think this will achieve what you are trying to do yourself. It even allows for parameterised URLs

  • Adding Custom screen for Create Space functionality in WebCenter Spaces

    I need some information on WebCenter Spaces.
    By default there are couple of parameters such as Space name, description, tag, url, status (Public, Private) etc. is required to create the Space with the Out-of-the-box screen in Spaces. But we have a requirement to create Group Space with some additional parameters too.
    I am finding a solution for that. Can we build a task flow with all the parameters that we need to create the Spaces ? If that is possible, can we use Spaces API to create the space and then deploy that task flow in Spaces ?
    Please let me know if there are any other options.

    Hi.
    Yes you can. Build a Task Flow consuming Spaces API (WebService or REST) and setting custom properties to it.
    Steps that you have to follow is:
    - Use API to create your group Space:
    //create the Space
    GroupSpaceWSMetadata gsMetadata =
    client.createGroupSpace("Databases", "Databases" "A community for people interested in databases", "databases, oracle", "CommunityofInterest");
    //print the Space GUID to provide confirmation of creation
    System.out.println("GUID: " + gsMetadata.getGuid());- You can add programmatically custom attributes:
    //create the custom attribute
    client.setCustomAttribute("Databases", "Vendors", "List of vendors", "java.lang.String", "Oracle, IBM");Code is from WebCenter Spaces API off doc: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25178_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_spaces.htm#CIHIJBIG

  • Error Messages in a WebCenter Spaces Components

    Dears,
    we deployed a custom component for check the quota for the folder before add any new item (we deployed it on UCM 11g),
    the component is working properly from UCM side, so when override the quota for the folder the error message "you can't add the file because...." appeared.
    but when we test the same process from WebCenter Spaces side by using the document manager component for the same folder to add new files the error message "Untitled error" appeared when override the quota, so how i can fetch the same message from UCM to view it in WebCenter Spaces when we override the quota.
    please help me if anyone know how we can solve this problem, or if anyone know how we can customize the error messages that appear from component.
    Thanks,

    I can help with this one - the component is mine. It was discussed in this thread: Re: "documents folder" on UCM size limit feature
    The error is raised via an exception:
    throw new ServiceException(msg);
    (where msg contains the text of the exception, something like: Folder UCM 11g Manuals Quota Violation Used:72.0MB Max:72.0MB File: 15.0KB)
    In UCM the check is bound to a check-in filter, which prevents check-in should the quota be exceeded.
    My guess is that either Document Management task flow, or WebCenter Framework has its own exception-handling mechanism, which replaces the text from the UCM component.

  • Deployed Captcha Code on webcenter spaces using customized Task Flow

    Dears,
    i am using Captcha Code, make new Task flow and fragment to be deployed on webcenter spaces, the code working correctly when am execute RUN from JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0, but when i deploy it on webcenter spaces version 11.1.1.5 and call this Task Flow from webcenter spaces the image not appear(Actually its Servlet code).
    as mentioned on Oracle PDF (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/index-101235.html ) -- > How-to use Captcha with ADF Faces and Oracle ADF
    add Servlet on web.xml, then make Managed Bean Code (add it into faces-config.xml) , then create new task flow and call the method that execute the Managed Bean from ADF Task Flow Page.
    1 - Servlet on web.xml :
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>CaptchaServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>nl.captcha.servlet.SimpleCaptchaServlet</servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>width</param-name>
    <param-value>250</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>height</param-name>
    <param-value>75</param-value>
    </init-param>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>CaptchaServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/captchaservlet.jpg</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    2 - Managed Bean :
    public void callMethod() {
    FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ExternalContext ectx = fctx.getExternalContext();
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest)ectx.getRequest();
    Captcha captcha = (Captcha)ectx.getSessionMap().get(Captcha.NAME);
    try {
    request.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");
    } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) {
    //bad luck - but ignore
    System.out.println("UTF not supported !");
    String answer = (String)ectx.getRequestMap().get("bestGuess");
    if (answer != null && captcha.isCorrect(answer)) {
    sendMail();
    SendMail_ToExternal();
    } else {
    fctx.addMessage(null,
    new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR, "Please write the number shown in the Picture",
    null));
    i am download the Captcha JAR from Oracle : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/index-101235.html , Download Captcha an using it as Task Flow to deploy it on webcenter spaces, but as i told you when i Run this code from JDeveloper working correctly, but the problem when i deploy it on webcenter spaces the Servlet code with image not appear. i wanna to know if servlet code working with deployed task flows on webcenter spaces or not ?
    Please Advise..
    Thanks

    Dear Bijesh Krishnadas,
    I did not add the servlet configuration to webcenter spaces yet, just add the Servlet to web.xml to ADF application, i will try to do the steps you are sent to me ? many thanks Bijesh Krishnadas

  • File download from a portletized ADF app running in webcenter spaces.

    Hi,
    I am having trouble downloading non static files from a portletized(with ADFPortletBridge) ADF application running as a portlet producer in Webcenter spaces .
    This is my scenario :
    Jdev : 11.1.1.3
    Webcenter : 11.1.1
    The ADF app has a query page, that uses the af:query component to do a query and display results on a table. This table data need to be exported as a file with some changes like splitting address to component city and state columns .
    The ADF app makes use of af:filedownloadlistener to get this(HTML formatted file with an .xls ext is our current preference to get it to open in excel, but could be anything) done . The ADF app works just fine, but as section 30.2.5.5 in the web center dev guide points out http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_bridge.htm#CACBHDEF
    > The <af.fileDownloadActionListener> component is not supported.
    The actual behavior however is that the export happens when triggered, but the component keep serving up the same file it created the first time it got invoked every subsequent time. The same file is served even across sessions.
    The alternatives I've considered so far are :
    1. <af:exportCollectionActionListener> - Exports what you see on the UI table. Would not work for us, because our exported data is different than whats on screen. (eg: whole addresses are displayed as a single column, but broken down as component city and state columns in exported data )
    UPDATE : <af:exportCollectionActionListener> exhibits the same behavior as <af.fileDownloadActionListener> in a portlet environment. The first time after deployment it works, and every subsequent time (across sessions) it serves up the same file it first generated.
    2. redirect to a servlet - admittedly half baked idea - fiire an action that will generate the report, then put it in sessionScope , redirect to a servlet that would pick up the report from session and stream it to the user by setting the servlet's response content type. Very unsure if this would fly in a portlet environment (sorry, I'm new to portlets) and even if it does, section 30.2.5.2 in the web center dev guide says :
    Do not redirect or forward a request within your JSP. JSR 168 only supports requestDispatcher.include(). The use of httpServletResponse.sendRedirect() or requestDispatcher.forward() results in exceptions and errors. Am I overlooking some feature that would let me do this or whats the recommended method to achieve this functionality of exporting a file generated at run-time in a portlet environment ?

  • Edit option not enabled for workflow content from within Content Presenter in Webcenter Spaces

    I have a webcenter spaces portal page with a content presenter displaying a html page using the default out of the box template. The html page is located in webcenter content / UCM under a folder on which the " All Reviewer" seeded workflow is enabled. The issue i am seeing is when the file is in workflow the edit option is not being enabled even though the reviewer should be able to edit/approve the content in this step. The other functions like workflow approve or reject and switching between workflow version and published version are all enabled. Also when rejected the content does not show edit option from the content presenter (cntrl-C option) for the original author to make any updates.
    What would need to be done to enable editing from within the content presenter for workflow content?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi Sreedhar
    We are using WCP 11.1.1.8.5
    To recreate the issue
    1)  Login to WCC Portal: Spaces as admin user , create a New Page under a webcenter spaces portal
    2)  Under the space , Pages Section , select the page and click edit
    3) In Design mode , choose Content Management and Add Document Explorer and Add Content Presenter on the page
    4)  The Document Explorer will default to the Current Space/portal directory under MyWebcenterSpaces in UCM
    5) Create a directory "content" under the Portal space using the document explorer.
    6) Right Click on Content folder and choose details. In Details view , go to File->workflow settings and pick a seeded workflow -> MyWCSAllReviewer. Add a user as workflow approver
    7) After workflow is enabled on this folder upload a basic html page with simple text into this folder
    8) Now in the design mode choose edit in the content presenter and select the "single content view" with default template to display an Image or HTML. Click browse and select the html that was added to workflow
    9) Save the Page and view the portal. Workflow should now be enabled for any content changes to that html page.
    10) Click Cntrl-shift-c in portal/space as an authenticated user with edit access to content and make an edit to content , this will trigger worklow . The author currently will see edit option get disabled once content enters workflow
    11)  Login as approver to the portal and cntrl-shift-C to the portal and workflow options(approve and reject) are enabled but the edit option is not. If you reject content , the author should be able to edit content in the content presenter mode, this also is not available. The issue is the content is now no longer available for editing from wthin content presenter if it is in workflow to either the approver or the original author depending on workflow step. If you check the same content under the document explorer the option to edit is enabled. Is this a bug /issue with content Presenter or some option needs enabled?

    How to upload a Word doc from MacBook to iCloud?

    Just going to throw in again: iCloud is to keep's Apple's products on Apple's devices synced up between multiple devices. It isn't for sharing. It isn't for storage.
    iCloud is the Apple-branded cloud (see the "i"). It isn't meant to be a completely free-of-charge realization of the future that all the tech people keep calling "the cloud."
    It adds a lot of very nice functionality to Apple's own products, yet people are screaming their heads off about not getting free disk space and free bandwidth to use for whatever they want online. Apple added functionality, but tons of people seem to think they took away functionality. These things were never promised with iCloud.
