Upload document through PCUI screen

Hi,
Need help from all experts.
I have a requirement to upload the documents through PCUI screen. Exact requirement is to dynamically call a tabstrip by pressing a toolbar button. This tabstrip will have one input box which shall allow the user to browse and input the file path and one upload button, that will upload the document.
I'm aware that there is standard process to achieve this result but unaware of the steps.
Please help.
All helpful answers will be rewarded.
Thanks and Best Regards,
D. Chakrapani

Hi Roshani,
I've heard of people being able to use the LSMW to accomplish this, but don't have any details.
You can also create a custom report to do this for you.
Read this forum topic. It has a lot of info and links to what you want to do.

  • Upload documents from transactional screen - Sale & Purchase Order

    hi All,
    I am trying to have DMS attachment from trx - VA02 directly. I have come across few links which say - this is possible.
    upload documents from user transactional screen to content storage area | LinkedIn
    I am able to get the functionality for CJ20N - 'WBS Element' Object (Screenshot attached). Can someone pl suggest if I am missing something to get the same functionality for Sale Order / PR & PO.
    For Sale Order - I believe the 'Create' icon shall be 'Enabled' once I navigate - Extras -> Documents.
    -thanks

    Hi
    This button is only displayed if you use the new screen logic (see note 1066915) and when you have maintained the necessary customizing for the required document types and objects in transaction DC10.
    So I would kindly ask you to go to transaction DC10 and mark a document type where the necessary object is linked under 'Define object links'. Choose the right object and display its details by double-click. Then you will see the field 'Create document' where you have to enter a value '1' (using transaction) or '2' (simple creation). Please enter a value and flag the 'Additional function' checkbox too.

  • Uploading Documents to Another Database Through APEX

    Hi,
    I am trying to find a solution for uploading documents through APEX, but storing them in a database on a different server other than the server where apex is installed.
    I am unable to use DBLINK, because we are needing to pass a BLOB column. We have also looked into the DAD, but it only allows for one database connection for the APEX instance. I am pondering with creating a database connection to the other database when needing to upload a document, but not certain if that is the most efficient way.
    I am wanting to know if there is a way to upload documents (BLOBS) through APEX that is installed on DATABASE A, but store the documents in DATABASE B?
    Thanks,
    Keisha

    Ok...up front warning...this is a bit klugey but, it does work.
    In the APEX database:
    Create the table (with the BLOB column) to which you will upload the documentsWe're going to get them to the remote DB but, for reasons that will become apparent shortly, they need to go here first.
    In the Remote database:
    Create a DB Link to the APEX database.
    Create a Materialized View that selects from table with the the BLOB column in the APEX database
    In the APEX database:
    Create a local synonym that points to the DBMS_REFRESH package in the Remote database.For this example, we'll name the synonym REMOTE_DBMS_REFRESH
    Create a PL/SQL procedure that does the following:
    Upload the document to the APEX database
    Fire the REFRESH method for the MV that you created using REMOTE_DBMS_REFRESH
    Remote the data from the APEX database
    For whatever reason, the restriction to copy LOB data over the link is by passed when using a Materialized View.

    hi
    you cannot limit the siZE of the doccument to be uploaded perhaps u can specify filter on the repository to check the type of the doccument.
    pcd  and wcm which is stored as database best gives the siZE  please query it or check its properties.

  • Upload documents from ESS Web Dynpro through Archivelink

    Hi Guys
    I am aware that ESS Whos Who has a functionality where the user can upload his own Photo and this makes use of the SAP Archivelink Architecture.
    We wish to make an iView that enables users to upload documents (other than photos) using Archivelink. This should be possible since it can be done for photos anyway.
    Does anyone know how to go about it? What are the configuration steps / coding required. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards
    Joy Kaushish

    Hi Joy!
    I haven't implemented from java, but from ABAP.
    You have to call the FM "ARCHIV_CREATE_TABLE".
    e.g.
      constants: c_sap_object like toaom-sap_object value 'PREL'.
      data: l_ar_object like toaom-ar_object.
      data: object_id like toa_dara-object_id.
      data: flength like sapb-length.
    call function 'ARCHIV_CREATE_TABLE'
          exporting
            ar_object                = l_ar_object
            object_id                = object_id
            sap_object               = c_sap_object
            flength                  = flength
          tables
            binarchivobject          = curr_dat
          exceptions
            error_archiv             = 1
            error_communicationtable = 2
            error_connectiontable    = 3
            error_kernel             = 4
            error_parameter          = 5
            others                   = 6.
    I hope, this hint helps!

  • POSTING G/L account documents through custom program

    While posting the documents through the tcode fb01,

    Hi,
    Nope, in standard SAP you can not do that.
    You would need to develop your custom program for it.

  • 403 error when trying to access a previously uploaded document in App

    I have 2 machines on one I am running WLS 10.3 with an admin server and a managed server called "dev" on a live box.
    On the other, my dev environment I upgraded from 8.1 to 10.3 so it upgraded my server to have the admin server all in one i.e. deploy apps to that server too.
    I have an app with a few entries that the deployment descriptor ( ejb-jar.xml) refers to a directory within the app, the directory is a location where files get uploaded to. It reads something like thisL
    ./app_name/web/uploads/document/
    THe documents get uploaded to the correct location on both machines, but on the machine that has the managed server and admin server I cant actually view the documents - whih are viewed through a jsp....there is a Session Bean that creates a link to the document based on an id within the database(and not the actual filename itself), for retrieving the document, which is populated in a jsp. However in the Bean the directory is set like this:
    String docUploadDir = "/upload/document/"
    so the link gets generated like this:
    www.mydomain.com/upload/document/?text=12345
    This works on the upgraded WLS version where the domain got upgraded from 8.1 to 10.3, where the admin server bundled up as the apps server as well. However under the WLS 10.3 domain i created(which base location and domain names are the same as 8.1 version) I get a Forbidden 403 error when I try and view the documents.
    Im assuming the forbidden comes about because I am trying to access a location on the machine that I shouldn't be allowed to. However where is the relative "docUploadDir" actually suppossed to exist?
    Thanks in advance!
    Paul

    Questions:
    - Did you set up a protected web realm?
    - When you click on the link to the realm, you get the block message?
    It's a little unclear what you've done to configure the web server and what you did to get the message.

  • Creating a new "Link to a Document" opens Word document or upload document dialog - plus more!

    The Link to Document content type seems to be corrupted at root. When I attempt to create a new Link, either Word opens with a blank document or the "Upload" document dialog opens. It's been changing as I investigate.
    One things I've noticed is that the "Link to a Document" Content Type on the parent site collection now shows it's parent as Document. this explains why the Word document opens, but not why the Upload dialog does.
    While writing this question, I decided to check further and it seems that the other document types, Audio, Video etc.  all now have Document as the parent and are opening a blank Word document.
    Has anyone seen this behavior? How do I fix this?
    This is on SharePoint 2010.
    Thanks in advance.
    Barry Cohen
    Barry Cohen

    Well, I spoke too soon. The process worked for all the custom content types, but the default Document type was still messed up. I probably should have fixed that one first, but...
    Anyhow, the Document type had no template going to the Upload File dialog rather than the blank Word document it's supposed to go to. I followed the same procedure I'd followed for the other content types, checking what worked on another site and using that
    template which in this case was a blank field:
    So, I went opened Document, Document Content Type and went to advanced settings. The template field was empty, which matched the working site, so thinking that if I saved, it would match up with the working site. I saved the Document content type and when
    after several minutes the save failed with an incredibly long list of locations where that were being perceived as "read only" plus several hidden content types that were listed as sealed. This snapshot shows a few of they many pages of content types. (I poorly
    struck through confidential info):
    Besides this gigantic error, which would require going to hundreds of locations on the site to change read access settings, which are, as far as I can tell actually not "read only" or are inaccessible, such as the hidden "System Page Layout' and so forth
    which shouldn't be based upon the default document type anyway and therefor not fixable, I need to understand why this is happening and what to do about it. I don't want to spend the next two days going over all of these libaries and content types and ending
    up back where I started with all the content types still screwed up. Afterall, I've spent about a day creating all these custom Content Types only to have the default Document content type loose its settings and corrupting everything and another day fixing
    it and having it happen again.
    This is a highly unacceptable behavior on the part of SharePoint and I would really like to fix this.
    Help is sorely needed.
    Thanks in advance

  • Getting the document ID of an uploaded document

    Hello All,
    Perhaps someone out there can help with this assumingly simple task of getting the document id of a file that was uploaded.
    Back ground:
    I have a separate system which retains records of transactions. Paperwork is often received as a part of these transactions and my intention is to store those documents into SharePoint. I want to store the document id on the record to facilitate easy retrieval
    of the document. No need to search by meta tags or the like; I will have the specific document id which will point to the document.
    Environment:
    I currently have SharePoint 2013 online. The program that creates and maintains the records is an in-house VB.Net application running on 4.5 framework. The document repository is defined as a record center and contains several content types and meta tags
    (columns) already defined. Again the application is written in VB.
    Goal:
    Upload a given document, get the document id, and store that id to the record.
    What I have done:
    I have created a function that will take a given file name and proceed to upload the document to the given SharePoint list. It then proceeds to update the meta tags with information that will help find it using alternative methods. I have also spend hours
    upon hours researching every corn of every forum to find an answer. But to no avail.
    The problem:
    I cannot find how to get the document id of the document that I uploaded. Either it is so easy that no-one has bothered to post how it is done. Or it is not doable. I say this because I can find absolutely no reference to how to get the document id. There
    is lots of references on how to get the name, the url, the meta tags, etc... But NO example on getting the document id. Very frustrating. Below is the code that I am using. Can someone suggest how I can go about getting the document id. Please treat me like
    I am a noob and spell it out. Sample code would be great! I have already burnt way too much time on this seemingly simple task. I would greatly appreciate any help.
    Thanks

    Thanks Micheal for confirming SharePoint version.
    Is your VB code working with SharePoint 2010 Client Object model? It would give the idea that there is some poroblem in SharePoint 2013 CSOM.
    By the way, I tried the below code  in C# and I was able to print the Document ID and it worked for me.
     using (ClientContext clientContext = new ClientContext("http://<<Server Name>>:2425/sites/test/"))
                    Web site = clientContext.Web;
                    // Change your document library name
                    List docLib = site.Lists.GetByTitle("tester");
                    clientContext.Load(docLib);
                    CamlQuery caml = new CamlQuery();
                    ListItemCollection items = docLib.GetItems(caml);
                    clientContext.Load(items);
                    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
                    // Iterate through all items in the document library
                    foreach (ListItem item in items)
                        Console.WriteLine("File Name:: " + item.FieldValues["Title"]);
                        Console.WriteLine("Document Id : " + item.FieldValues["_dlc_DocId"]);
                    Console.ReadLine();
    Output:
    File Name:: Remove_URL
    Document Id : TEST-1-1
    File Name:: Request
    Document Id : TEST-1-2
    Please check that your code is working with SP2010 or not?

    There is a programming error somewhere.To get a solution quickly, do as follows:
    1. Turn off all badi's, user exits and whatever you have changed in standard SAP.
    2. Rerun - if it still fails - search in SAP notes for relevant notes
    3. If it doesnt fail - you have an error in your own programming
    4. If you are on relevant Support packages etc, send a message to SAP.

  • PA30, attaching documents through the employee personal master dat

    Dear freinds,
    We are attaching documents through the employee personal master data
    PA30, Our client wants to know where exactly these attachments are
    getting saved; Our SAP environment is ECC6.0 on AIX 5.3. so i exactly would like to know what is the exact path where these documents are getting saved on AIX machine.
    I would appreciate if you can tell us where exactly these documents are
    getting saved at OS level, any particular file system you think,
    because I probed in but couldnu2019t find where exactly there are on the
    OS..
    Regards
    ayush

    hello,
    SAP generally recommends that you store employee documents with a bar code. You can find the documentation to 'Storage Within Personnel Administration' using the following path:
    => Help => SAP Library => Human Resources => Personnel Management (PA)=> Personnel Administration (PA-PA) => Storage Within Personnel Administration (PA-PA)
    In the SAP Standard it is not possible to tie original documents to specific personnel numbers in the PA30 transaction. The only exceptions are two specific scenarios where you can tie original documents in the PA30 transaction:
    1. late storing with bar code
    2. late storing without bar code
    During both scenarios you start out in the Trx PA30. If the bar code entry is deactivated the actual key data will have to be transferred to the document in any case, otherwise you will be asked to enter a barcode again. Therefore the document would be transferred to the scanning location and then assigned to a specific business object.
    Unfortunately it is NOT possible to upload a document directly into archive in the PA30 any other way.
    Let me emphasize once more that PA30 can not be used for storing infotype specific documents. Via the special scenarios mentioned already by my colleague you are able to assign documents to the specific infotypes but the storing has to be completed outside of PA30.
    Using the option Extras -> Assign facsimile in PA30 will be interpreted by the system as start for late scanning with barcode thus the error message.
    Hope this help
    Sarah

  • Parking documents through program ZLOADGL

  • Issues in displaying upload document link in publisher taskflow

    Hi,
    We are trying to do a feasibility analysis on the upload document feature of publisher taskflow, but are facing issues.
    The Attach : File link is not getting displayed along with the publisher taskflow. The Attach: Link option alone is displayed.
    Below are the steps i did to try out.
    1. Created a new webcenter Portal application using JDEV 11.1.1.6
    2. Created a new JSF file under /pages.
    3. Dragged and dropped a publisher taskflow from Resource Pallete.
    4. Set the username parameter to #{securityContext.userName}
    5. Created an UCM connection in Application resources.
    6. Deployed the ear to server.
    7. Made sure the UCM connection is active in the EAR. (verified through Enterprise Manager)
    8. To make sure the connection is proper, used a document presenter taskflow to display images from UCM in the same page
    On running the application the publisher taskflow and the document presenter with images are getting displayed on the page. But the Attach: File is missing. Only Attach: Link option is available.
    Am i missing any other configuration here?
    Requesting help is solving this issue

    Had to update adf-config.xml to have an try for <doclibC:spaces-repository> as below
    <doclibC:spaces-repository
    spacesRoot=<Name of the Root folder configured in the UCM connection for Spaces in the server>
    adminUserName=<Administrator username mention in the UCM connection for Spaces in the server>
    applicationName=<Name of the application EAR>
    />
    This fix enabled the Attach : File link in the publisher taskflow
