Upload file to a particular folder in UCM
I want to upload file to a particular folder location in UCM.
When I am uploading it is going to the default location though i programmatically have set the folder path
I am using Adf application in Jdev 11.1.1.3
As i am new to UCM i do not have idea of whether to define the location at ucm level or in our program
Below is my code like this
public void checkInContent(TransferFile file){
UploadContentVORowImpl row=(UploadContentVORowImpl)this.getUploadContentVO1().getCurrentRow();
IdcClient client= UCMRepositoryOperations.getIdcClient();
DataBinder binder= client.createBinder();
binder.putLocal ("IdcService", "CHECKIN_UNIVERSAL");
binder.addFile("primaryFile", file);
String fileType=file.getContentType().substring(0,file.getContentType().indexOf("/"));
int contentId= new SequenceImpl("UCM_CONTENT_ID_SEQUENCE",getDBTransaction()).getSequenceNumber().intValue();
binder.putLocal("dDocID", contentId+"");
binder.putLocal("dDocName", file.getFileName());
binder.putLocal("dDocTitle", file.getFileName());
binder.putLocal("dDocType","DigitalMedia");
SimpleDateFormat sdf=new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss");
binder.putLocal("dInDate",sdf.format(row.getFromDate().dateValue()));
binder.putLocal("dOutDate",sdf.format(row.getToDate().dateValue()));
binder.putLocal("xScope",row.getScope());
if(row.getStateId()!=null){
binder.putLocal("xState", row.getStateId().toString());
if(row.getDistrictId()!=null){
binder.putLocal("xDistrict",row.getDistrictId().toString());
binder.putLocal("dLocation", "/Contribution Folders/sahaj/content/loginPageNews");
binder.putLocal("dAuthor", "Test");
binder.putLocal("dSecurityGroup", "public");
binder.putLocal("blDateFormat", "dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss");
ServiceResponse resp=null;
String response=null;
try {
resp = client.sendRequest(UCMRepositoryOperations.getContext(), binder);
} catch (IdcClientException e) {
ucmAMLogger.severe(e);
try {
response=resp.getResponseAsString();
resp.close();
} catch (IOException e) {

To determine the correct ID, this PL/SQL function may be useful :

v_folder_path VARCHAR2(32000);
pos_next_separator NUMBER;
CURSOR c_get_folder_id ( p_parent_folder_id in number, p_folder_name in varchar2 )
is
SELECT dcollectionid
FROM collections
WHERE dcollectionname = p_folder_name
AND dparentcollectionid = p_parent_folder_id;
begin
v_folder_path := p_folder_path ;
-- strip first '/'
if ( substr(v_folder_path,1,1) = C_FOLDER_SEPARATOR ) then v_folder_path := substr(v_folder_path,2); end if;
pos_next_separator := instr(v_folder_path,C_FOLDER_SEPARATOR) ;
while ( pos_next_separator > 0 )
loop
v_folder_name := substr(v_folder_path,1, pos_next_separator - 1);
v_folder_path := substr(v_folder_path,pos_next_separator+ 1);
open c_get_folder_id ( p_parent_folder_id => v_parent_folder_id , p_folder_name => v_folder_name );
fetch c_get_folder_id into v_parent_folder_id;
close c_get_folder_id ;
pos_next_separator := instr(v_folder_path,C_FOLDER_SEPARATOR) ;
end loop;
v_folder_name := v_folder_path;
open c_get_folder_id ( p_parent_folder_id => v_parent_folder_id , p_folder_name => v_folder_name );
fetch c_get_folder_id into v_parent_folder_id;
close c_get_folder_id ;
dbms_output.put_line('Found :' ||v_folder_name||' id '||v_parent_folder_id);

Migration of data using ETL tools.
Hi,
We want to tranfer data from Sap to Oracle.Could you please suggest which ETL tool we should choose
for fulfilling our requirement.
Would somebody will be able to access it from outside SAP? Is it possible to extract data at certain frequency e.g. every week, every month using ETL tools.
Regards,
Divya.Hi,
A feature in BI called Open Hub Service is used for transporting SAP data to non-SAP datamarts, etc. This data can be transferred to database tables or flat files. To know the detials, please refer:

Upload Files into SAP Office Folder in Background
Hi All ,
Has anyone tried uploading file(s) of any type say *.XLS , *.PDF to SAP office folder (Outbox) in the background . I am using the function module 'SO_DOCUMENT_REPOSITORY' with methods "SAVE" , "ATTCREATEFROMPC" and "SEND" . It works fine in foreground without any errors . But when tried to schedule in background , the job stops at the method call "ATTCREATEFROMPC" and gives a message "Database error for <INSERT INTO KPRO> " . It looks like the uderlyiong function module checks for an active GUI and fails during background .
Any thoughts or other solutions would be appreciated ....
ThanksHi,
I think ATTCREATEFROMPC method is for loading the file from frontend PC. It is bound to fail if you run it in background since there is no SAPGUI running it and it can't know the location.
You will need to use some other method to be able to read the files from the APP server, and have your documents on the APP server if you want to run your code in the background.
cheers,

Unable to upload Files to child site collection using REST
Dear All,
I referred this article http://www.shillier.com/archive/2013/03/26/uploading-files-in-sharepoint-2013-using-csom-and-rest.aspx for uploading documents to SP Document Library and it works fine for any document library under the root site collection(
for example "http://<server name>/Shared Documents" but when i upload the same document to one of the sub site collection created using Managed Path( the site collection path is "http://<server name>/files/Case" and the library
name is "records") it fails and i get below error:
The security validation for this page is invalid. Click Back in your
Web browser, refresh the page, and try your operation again, Error Code -2130575251 Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException"
Any help suggestion to resolve this? I've almost tried everything to resolve this issue but no luck.. appreciate any help
for this..
Regards,
VishalHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you had an issue uploading files to subsite using REST.
I had made a simple code demo below, it will upload a file to Document Library after you make your selection with the File control.
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
function uploadFile(){
//alert(2);
if (document.getElementById("file").files.length === 0) {
alert('No file was selected');
return;
var parts = document.getElementById("file").value.split("\\");
var filename = parts[parts.length - 1];
var file = document.getElementById("file").files[0];
uploadFileSync("http://YourSite", "Documents", filename, file);
//Upload file synchronously
function uploadFileSync(spWebUrl , library, filename, file)
//alert(3);
var reader = new FileReader();
reader.onloadend = function(evt)
if (evt.target.readyState == FileReader.DONE)
var buffer = evt.target.result;
var completeUrl = spWebUrl
+ "/_api/web/lists/getByTitle('"+ library +"')"
+ "/RootFolder/Files/add(url='"+ filename +"',overwrite='true')?"
+ "@TargetLibrary='"+library+"'&@TargetFileName='"+ filename +"'";
$.ajax({
url: completeUrl,
type: "POST",
data: buffer,
async: false,
processData: false,
headers: {
"accept": "application/json;odata=verbose",
"X-RequestDigest": $("#__REQUESTDIGEST").val(),
"content-length": buffer.byteLength
complete: function (data) {
//uploaded pic url
console.log(data.responseJSON.d.ServerRelativeUrl);
error: function (err) {
alert('failed');
reader.readAsArrayBuffer(file);
</script>
<input type="file" id='file' onchange="uploadFile()"/>
Thanks,
Jason

Finder - Create new files directly from a folder using finder ?
In Finder, is there a way to do a right-click in a folder and create a new file like: New Text File or New Document from that location?
I used to do this oftenly in Windows (right click, New Word document) but I have not found it in Mac OS X, any work around ?
ThanksTry the [Apple feedback page|http://www.apple.com/feedback>. However, note that this is unlikely to be added. It would be a very cumbersome feature.
On Windows, you're almost guaranteed to be tied to a particular set of document creation tools. If you're using an office suite other than MS Office, you're so weird you might as well be using a Mac! This means that commands like "New Document" make sense there.
On a Mac, a "document" could be created with MS Word, Pages, TextEdit, NeoOffice, OpenOffice, Mellel, Nisus Writer Marinter Write, or any of a host of other programs. (Mac users tend to put less emphasis on the popular tool and prefer to use the tool that "fits the hand" best.) Further complicating things is the fact that "document" is a very generic term, since every spreadsheet is a document, every Photoshop file is a document, etc. The contextual menu would rapidly become unmanageable if it had to fill up with "New Whatever Document" commands for every app on your hard drive!
It is possible for you to add your own custom services to the contextual menu using AppleScript or Automator, and you should be able to create services to create new documents for the apps you use frequently. Check on the [AppleScript forum|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=724] for guidance on how to do this. -

How to read the name of .csv file from a particular folder using Oracle.
Gurus,
I have a folder called 'data_dir' in Oracle Server and it contains 10 different .csv files and the name of the each file is being suffixed by date and time(24 hrs format).
First i need to read all the file names then i have to process those files by UTL_FILE to load the data into a relational table.
Is there any mechanism is available in Oracle to read the file names?
(In this case all the 10 different csv file names)
If so, then please help me accomplish this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Venugopal.KIs there any mechanism is available in Oracle to read the file names?Sounds to me like you need to use External Tables (*not* utl_file).

Hi all,
Can any one tell how to get the number of files(.EPS) count inside a folder when the folder path is specified in VC++ 6.0?
Thanks in Advance.

myriazI'm a little confused by the question, but it sounds like you're asking how to count the number of files with a particular extension in a given directory? That's not really an AI SDK question, but it's a fairly easy one to find if you google it. If you're trying to use Illustrator to do it, AI doesn't have a general purpose file API. It has a few functions to do some things that Illustrator needs, but I don't think enumerating directories is one of them.

Can I delete a file in my web folder using JSP/servlet?
I want to delete some of the files in my website. How can I give file path. I have uploaded my website in US. Just by uploading a servlet /jsp I want to delete files in my directory.
Is it possible to delete files using Servlert/jsp. What path should I give for the file name in jsp/servelet?It is possible. You can just specify the absolute file path in a File object and then invoke the delete() method. File file = new File("/path/file.ext");
file.delete();See the File API [1] for details. Further on I think that you also want to know how to get the absolute file path for the given relative path. If so, it's available by ServletContext#getRealPath() [2]. To get for example the absolute root path, just query the relative root path "/":
String rootPath = getServletContext().getRealPath("/");[1] http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/io/File.html
