Upload user chosen file for the app to access directly

hello all,
i'd like my app to upload a user chosen file from user's hard
drive but i want the flash app to have direct access to the
uploaded bitmap rather than saving the file to the server via php.
i've seen examples to send the FileReference object to a
serverside script for uploading to the server but i just want the
flash app to use the bitmap w/o needing to save the file.
is the file data only uploaded by php or during the
FileReference.upload()? how to get access to the bitmap data?
help!

thx kglad. as far as you know, is that the only way? i was
hoping that FileReference was able to gain access to the bitmap to
pass it to the flash app directly.

Error while uploading standard text files for the Global rule set

Hi all,
As part of Post Installation Activities we have uploaded standard text files for business process, functions, risks and rule set obtained with the installable Software.
While uploading the text files we have uploaded the Basis Functions Authorizations first and then R/3 text files.
When we checked no actions are appearing in the rule architect under respective functions except for the BASIS Module.
Is this because we have uploaded the Basis functions before the R/3 text files?If yes, how to replace the Basis with the R/3 ones.
We tried to replace the Basis function authorizations by re-uploading the R/3 text files again but we got the below error message u201CORA-00001:unique constraint (SAPSR3DB.SYS_C004479) violatedu201D
Can somebody please help in this regard how to get the standard rule set in our system?

Hi Sri,
you should upload first the static text files and the authorization objects first and then the GRC standard rule set files following the instructions of the SAP Configuration Guide available in Service Market Place under http://service.sap.com/instguides .
The GRC standard rule set contains files named Basis_functions_action.txt and R3_function_action.txt. The first one contains ONLY function definitions in terms of transcation codes for basis only, whereas the second one contains functions definition for basis AND ERP modules. The same holds for the *_function_permission.txt files. There are also function definition files for other SAP solutions such as APO, CRM, HR etc.
You can open a customer message and request a deletion script for the rule sets files you have uploaded already. After their application of this script all rule set data will be deleted from your database. If you have uploaded static text and authorization files correctly, you can then upload the GRC standard rule set files as needed again.

I need to find and upload a hidden file for an app service issue

I need to locate a hidden file, filename.plist which is on a networked drive, and upload it to the company;s wed=biste for the to support the app. Obviously 'filename' is just a word. there is a long and complex filename.
Finder spins its wheels uselessly when I ask it to search. The action gear thingy has no useful options to see hidden files that I can see. And the upload part of the website, while it lets me enter the filename in the search box, just spins uselessly, too.
The file is held on a networked freestanding drive. That isn't of itself, any real problem. I just need to find it and upload it so I can get support. I don;t mind using some utility to grab a copy of it somehow, and uploading that! BUT I am not hugely technical, so I need to be spoon fed.

You can use Terminal to find the file you are looking for.
Let's say your network drive is named Net_Drive
find /Volumes/Net_Drive -name filename.plist
if you know the exact file name or
find /Volumes/Net_Drive -name *.plist
to search for all file names ending with .plist

That article is about using your iPod as an external hard drive, to move files from one computer to another computer. It is not related to your question.
You can't use iTunes to move song files from iPod to computer, except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store (and you can also re-download purchases). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can move song files from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your current computer, add them to that computer's iTunes library by dragging the files (or folder containing the files) to the iTunes window. After confirming everything is there (and fixing the data issue you mentioned) you can sync the iPod. You may want to do a Restore on the iPod, if it might have a data corruption issue, which will erase the iPod's hard drive, re-install the latest software, and set it to defautl settings.

System config files for Labview App

In Win 7, I am building a Labview project. Where should I store the user selected system specific configuration files for the app operation? Things like data directories, log file directories, etc

If you mean your own build application
WHat I do in my projects is the following :
- LabVIEWs ini file in the same folder as exe
- Log files in directory logfiles next to exe
- other data files like settings, configuration etc in a datafolder next to the exe
If you mean with your source code
- create folders for every type of VI : globals, controls(typedef), subVI, FGLB, ...
- create a datafolder for your datafiles your using
- create logfolder for your logfiles

I have tried london1a1's workaround, and it has not made any difference.
It seems that london1a1 suggests changing the Camera.h file in this location:
          Users/london1a1/Documents/DW_NAF/PhoneGapLib/PhoneGapLib/Classes/Camera.h
Whereas you're saying to change the Camera.h file in this location:
          /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5/Configuration/NativeAppFramework/DWPhoneGap/iphone/PhoneGapLib/Classes/Camera.h
I've tried changing the Camera.h file in both locations. Neither has made a difference.

I have purchased a from within an app. I submit my password for the app, and then my Apple ID. I then get the following messages "Regrant failure _ please log in with the same user that has bought this app" and that is followed by "cant conn with IT _

I have purchased an item from within the app PocketBible on my iPad. However when I try to download it I am asked for my app User Name and Password and then my Apple ID and password. I give both of these. I then get a message which says Regrant failure - Please log in with the same user that has bought the app. That is then followed by Pocket Bible Alert - cannot connect to iTunes Store.
Anybody got any ideas, both what the 1st alert means and how I get round the problem please.

I had the same problem. My wife had the PocketBible on her Ipad 2 and she transferred ownership to me. I had to delete the app and reinstall it from the App store(logged in with my apple ID) and its working without a problem. I do not get those error messages when I attempt to Buy/Upgrade or Add/Remove books.

Yes its in oracle SR(support request).
I created two SR's for the below questions,
1)When I am exporting the report from the analysis ,the report is looking fine and large. but when I export the report from dashboard to PDF , the report is not showing the same size, instead the image got shrink-ed and is small in size.
Can you help me with your suggestions( I don't know but can it be done editing the .fst files in the style files, If so can you please provide me with your suggestion ASAP)
2)I tried to add a presentation variable in the footer of a dashboard's pdf setting,it worked, but the presentation variable gets repeated in the center and right panes of the footer. (the presentation variable i have used is :- @{DashboardRunDate}

Saving files for metro apps in Windows 8/8.1 when printing

Hi,
I have a query regarding saving files for metro apps Windows 8/8.1.
Metro apps saves the file automatically to the Document folder when we print.
But I would like to save the files into a recommened folder like C:\users\tmp\
Please suggest me, is there a way to save the files to a particular folder for metro apps in Windows 8/8.1.

As far as I know (and I may be wrong), there's no built-in file saving when printing documents. How are you confirming that?
You can save the file anywhere you want, as long as the user chooses the folder location using the FolderPicker.

Upload users from File

Hi,
We are working on SRM 4.0 classic , SP 11.
We want to upload the users + cost center using upload users from file option in USERS_GEN transaction. The problem is we dont have the option of selecting the cost center and logical system on the main screen.
We have considered the OSS note Note 871216 - Cost Center not Updated with transaction Users_Gen. And the code corrections are already present in the system.
But the check boxes for selecting the cost center and logical sytem are not available.
Any guesses.

But the problem is selection of the check boxes for cost center and logical system, these two are not appearing on the screen.
I can down load the file format using option " Download user data to file". While doing this you have option of selecting data like fax number, telephone number etc. But there is no option of selecting the cost center / logical sytem.
On the same line while uploading the users I do not have the check boxes for the cost center / logical sytem. How can to activate these check boxes so that cost center data is also uplaoded while generating the users as well.

An error has occurred while updating article layouts. The InDesign file for the layout cannot be...

When trying to complete the tutorial for indesign I get the following error when trying to add an article to my folio:
"An error has occurred while updating article layouts. The InDesign file for the layout cannot be found."
I am able to create the folio then I click into articles. My document "WiFi_v.indd" is open when clicking add article, but I keep getting this error message.
I am using the following versions of the software (Should be the latest).
- Folio Builder (Downloaded version Version 1.1.8.0)
reported version:
11.4.3.20111129_m672305 7.5.5.17
Adobe In Design 7.5.2 CS 5.5
Also tried reinstalling the plugins (uninstall + install)

If you're on Mac OS with the OS in another language than english the "User" folder might contain a non english character and causing problems.
I e in Sweden the Mac OS user-folder is called "Användare". When attempting uploading articles from a file locaded anywere this "Användare" is in the file path the Folio producer says Error finding InDesign layout, due to -what i think is-the "ä" in Användare. If you still want to work local you can place the InDesign files directly into the Macintosh HD. In this case the User folder is not used.

Option 1: Upload Users from File (ASCII)
Prerequisite
The data fields for a user are in a row and are separated by a
semicolon. You can generate these files in MS Excel, for example, (save
the Excel sheet as file type CSV). The order of the fields is critical.
Example
o   D030456;Smith;50000105;[email protected];de
o   C00213445;Doe;50000106;[email protected];us
o   D23456;Moser;50010203;[email protected];dk
Note
In the menu under Goto -> Define Separator, you can determine if a
semicolon or a comma is to be accepted as a separator.
If all the data in the file is not accessible, default values are used
for the missing data. If the file contains an e-mail address, the system
generates a password and sends it via e-mail to the user. If the file
has not e-mail address, you are prompted to specify an initial password
for all users.
You must specify the technical key for the fields Academic title, Form
of address, Manager indicator, Role and Country.
o   You can find the system keys for the academic title in field
    TITLE_KEY of table TSAD2.
o   You can find the system keys for the address text in field TITLE of
    table TSAD3T.
o   If the user is to be a manager, you check the field Manager
    indicator.
o   If you are assigning a role for a user, the file must contain the
    technical name of the role. You should check in advance in
    Transaction PFCG if the role actually exists.

I had this same problem, and it was erased.
For some really odd reason iPads sometimes retain the last user iTunes account on first visit to the iTunes store.
I am thinking it is actually the iTunes store recognising the iPad, and so 'helping' by showing the last log in settings.
So I would also recommend Erase All Content and Settings to start.
If that was done then what you need to do is log in, or create your own itunes account.
This is in Settings, Store.
create your own iTunes account (or log in with an old one).
Purchase something.
Then (as long as you don't have any app from the last owner on) it should never ask for the old account again.
