Uploading files to Moodle or Drupal -no can do!

Ipad users can not  uploading files on the IPad to a CM sites... because  "Choose file" is grayed out -in my case Moodle, or any other web based content management site I use. If it's absolutely not possible I need to be going another route. No file systems means this iPad can't do simple web based tasks. Please no post on how to attach to iPad apps. I need to upload or attach files on my iPad to a web based email account or to a content management site. After a year of waiting for apple to make this more than a content viewing tool im finally getting ready to move on. Seems like Apple is missing an opportunity here.

More than likely your control panel for these is not supported under the safari browser...
Possibly a mixture of javascript and java possibly.

  • Why is a new user account created every time I upload files from my old PC. Can't you just use the same user account all the time?

    I'm a new Mac user and am finding my way slowly around it. One question: why is a new user account created every time I upload files from my old PC?

    Because you're using the Migration Assistant, and it can't migrate data to an existing user account. Transfer everything at once or use a different method.

  • I want to upload files to my website. I can open the website with ftp, but I do not see any possibility to upload my website html pages..?

    I have a website and I have all the rights to it. Now I want to upload my html pages, but I cannot see how I do this with firefox.

    Hi,
    You can add enhanced functionality using the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fireftp/ FirefFTP] add-on. The installed add-ons are listed in Firefox ('''Tools '''('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. Please also go through the reviews, ratings, FAQ and help. There could also be similar add-ons.

    Hi All,
    I want to display uploaded file in JSP.
    Initially I am displaying File Name after saving the file & click on edit link.
    i.e on JSP Page I have File Upload component & save button.With that save button I am saving my file to databse.
    So when I click on edit link I am getting that file name from Databse then I am displaying it.
    But now I want to display uploaded file name on JSP page before saving to databse.i.e I will have browse & Upload button.When I click on browse button I will open window from where I will select file.
    This is working fine as,<x:inputFileUpload id="uploadfile" value="#{errorLotBean.file}" storage="file"></x:inputFileUpload>
    But when I click on upload button that uploaded file should be displyed there only.Can anyone please tell me how to do this ?
    Thanks

  • How to get InputStream of uploaded file from request?

    The situation:
    Client is uploading xml file to server.
    <form METHOD=POST ENCTYPE = "multipart/form-data" action="SendFile" accept="text/xml">
              <input type="file" name="SentFile" />
              <input type="submit" value="go"/>
    </form>Then I need to parse data from file.
    I want to use method javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder.parse(InputStream is)
    But, how to get InputStream of uploaded file from request?

    You cannot get the InputStream of the uploaded file directly. The InputStream you can obtain from request.getInputStream() contains a lot of other data as well as the uploaded file. You will have to parse the data in the InputStream to find the data that belongs to the file.
    A short cut is to use the HTTP Multipart File Upload available from www.jenkov.com. It simplifies file upload and makes it easy to obtain an InputStream for only the uploaded file. It also handles upload of multiple files. It is free, open source, Apache license, so if it doesn't fit your needs, you can always read the code and see how it works. Then write your own upload servlet.

  • Recognizing mime uploaded file type

    Hi
    I'm trying to restrict the mime type of an uploaded file to .PDF only. I can have some validation by using FileItem.getContentType() method from Apache commons' fileupload framework or by using FileDataSource.getContentType() method from COS framework, but both of these methods simply match the extension of uploaded file with MIME mappings of the server. If a user takes a .doc file and saves it as .pdf, i still get content type application/pdf for that file. Is it possible to check for these scenarios somehow?

    You could give DROID (Digital Record Object Identification) a go:

  • Prevent overwrite of upload file

    I'm using jspsmart to upload file to the server.
    How can I prevent overwrite of file ?
    for example,
    User A have a file call "abc.txt" in the server. Now, another user B upload a file call "abc.txt".
    The problem is User A and User B upload the file with the same filename in the same directory.
    Any method can give User B a warning signal to prevent overwrite of the file.
    Thank you !

    To prevent an overwrite of a file, first check to see if file exists BEFORE uploading the file.
    For example.
    String filename = "abc.txt";
    File f = new File(filename);
    if(f.exists()) // file already exists ->give error
    else // file not exists->upload file

    http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/CompatibilityMatrix
    It tells you which myfaces and tomahawk jars you can use together.

  • How can i Upload Files from my Flex 2.0 Application?

    How can i do a Upload File funtionality with Flex 2.0? Do i
    have to make the component? How is the code in Flex/ Action Script
    to make this possible?. I'm new in this Flex world and it seems to

    I haven't tried this, but I believe what you could do is
    append
    requestHeaders to the urlrequest object that you pass into
    the file.upload()
    method. The requestHeaders is an array of name/value pairs
    that would be
    included with your post. At least in theory, I believe that
    shoudl work.
    Good luck.

  • Can you upload files from the iPad to a Web Browers

    I recently received an iPad and I love it. I would also love to leave my laptop at home and only use the iPad while I'm away. One thing I think is missing for this to be possible is the lack of a native filesystem, as far as I know.
    I know there are many apps that allow you to store and sync documents but I can't find a way to upload files to a website. For example, if I'm on a job site that requires me to upload my resume, the browse button on the browser is not active. I can't upload the files using the documents I've stored in Pages or in readdledocs.
    Does anyone else think this is a major shortcoming?
    Is there a way to do that I'm not aware of?
    You assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    joe

    I had the same complaint. I actually stopped using my laptop for the iPad. It was frustrating having to go to the laptop just to upload a resume to career builder. I just downloaded iCab browser in the app store. I sent my resume to an external email account and signed in. You need to open the email through the iCab browser and download the file there. ICab has its own download drop box. I was able to them go to career builder and upload a resume without a problem. It may be a pain to start emailing files to yourself just to import them into the app but it's worth it not having to either copy and paste or go back to your laptop. Hope that helps and you found a job.

  • I really need to go back to the save I made a day ago, my time machine is not set up and files haven't been automatically uploading to cc is there anyway I can go back a day in saves?

    Hi, I just had an issue with a photoshop document, my mac book temporarily crashed the screen glitches and deleted some vital layers I had constructed (took half a day) I thought I could correct it and saved it a few times in a panic and now i really need to go back to the save I made a day ago, my time machine is not set up and I just realised my files haven't been automatically uploading to cc is there anyway I can go back a day in saves?

    So you don't have anything like Shadow Protect running in the background?
    Video editing software only needs to save the steps taken to achieve the edit, and references the actual video files from the hard drive.  So the saved files are only tiny, and it takes very little drive space to auto save to incrementing file names.  Obviously, Photoshop files can be huge by comparison, so the only way to save with a different file name is to do it manually.
    I think most regular posters to this forum make a point of updating the file name of a large project every hour or so, and as a direct response to reading so many horror stories like your own.  The worst story I remember was from a poster whose computer had crashed half way through saving a large PSD file.  After several response, questions and answers, it turned out he was using a laptop with a failing battery.  He told us that he could see the battery was getting low, but left it and left it before finally hitting Ctrl s and running off to find the laptop's power lead. When he got back the laptop had run out of power and shut down, and his PSD file was lost forever.  He may have been a prime candidate to a computing Darwin Award, but his stupidity still did the rest of us a service so we could learn from his mistake.
    Ouch.
    My digital audio workstation works on the same principle; it creates a backup save just in case things go wrong (which--knock on wood--hasn't happened to me) and only references audio/MIDI files that are related to the project.
    My advice is to always, always back up sensitive documents. There are lots of ways of doing this, from manually to automatically. (e.g., A lot of higher-end routers let you connect external storage via USB so you can run backup software that detects any changes to a monitored folder over a network and then backs up any changed/updated documents to the connected storage. I prefer to do it myself manually, though.)

  • Can't upload files--"Acrobat has encountered a problem"

    I'm experimenting with Acrobat. com as a way to collaborate with peers across the country. Seems like an ideal answer. I'm testing the "free," 2-person version at the moment, and can't seem to upload files to My Workspace. I'm trying to upload two files individually--the first a small MS Word file, the second a 1mb PowerPoint. Each attempt produces an "Acrobat has encountered a problem" error message. I can't even upload a photo of myself for my profile. At first, I thought it might be a firewall/proxy problem, but I ran all the Adobe diagnostics. Everything tested fine. I'm even able to establish video connection in the ConnectNow workspace. I'm working off a T3 pipeline, so I don't think its a volume problem. Help.

    Hi, can you tell exactly what requirements exist?
    I am having the same problem when I try to upload a file. My Admin has opened the site Acrobat.com for me and I can access Acrobat.com via browser, but not upload PDFs. I also cannot upload files for review from other Adobe products (RoboHelp or Acrobat).
    This whole issue seems rather strange to me - an online reviewing process should be designed for professional users and these user are typically behind a firewall. Therefore it would be most important to pinpoint exactly which access rights are required, rather then let the user try and stumble around themselves.
