Uploading list of user to single group

hi,
   i want to add 500 users to one group,can any one tell me,how to do it in the simple way.
   thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ravi.

Hi Ravi,
what kind of UME data source (DB, LDAP, ...) do you use. Depending on the UME data source you have got different options. For example most LDAP products support batch group assignment.
But as Michael said, you can always use the text-based UME object import tool. You will find it in the portal under => User Administration => Import.
You will find more information about the tool in the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/index.htm">SAP Library</a>. Search for "UME object import tool" and have a look into the group section.
Best regards,
Martin

  • PS Script to find the list of users and the groups in a Workgroup server

    Hi There, could you please explain on how to get a complete list of local users and local groups in a "Workgroup" server to which they belong to using Powershell. I'm able to get the users list but couldn't find any help in finding
    the script to find to which localgroup the user belong to. Anticipating your response. Also let me know the cmdlet for Win2k3 servers to find the same.

    Here's some code from David Pham (don't remember wher I fund this code):
    Trap {"Error: $_"; Break;}

  • Listing all users in a group

    Hi guys,
    I need to write some code that returns a list of Users that belong to a particular group, using pt 5. This has been asked in lots of different posts but no answer has been given. There must be a way to do this somehow.
    Should I be doing an IPortalSearchRequest and then filtering by group? I can't work out how to do this, or even if it is possible. Or should I be using the IUserGroupManager interface? It does not seem to be documented anywhere.
    I do not want to resort to reading the PlumTree DB but it looks like I may have to. Obviously this defeats the whole point of the API - but considering this changed from 4.5 to 5 maybe this is not a problem!

    Also check these other two posts. If the gateway blows up the links I'm sticking in below, just use the general portal search to look for "QueryUsers"
    http://portal.plumtree.com/portal/server.pt?in_hi_req_objtype=18&in_hi_req_objtype=17&in_hi_req_objtype=1&in_hi_req_objtype=512&in_hi_req_objtype=43&in_hi_userid=281772&in_hi_req_bbs=1&in_hi_req_thesaurus=1&space=SearchResult&in_hi_req_spell=1&parentid=1&cached=false&control=searchstart&in_hi_req_gadsrchtype=bannersearch&in_hi_req_initialsearchstring=QueryUsers&in_hi_req_page=50&in_tx_query=QueryUsers&in_hi_req_lang=en&parentname=SearchResult#

  • Listing of Users with associated Groups

    Is there an easy way to generate a listing of APEX users and their associated groups? I know how to get the current user and how to determine what groups they are part of, but am looking for a simple query I can run to generate a complete list of Users and their associated groups.
    Thanks

    if you want to return the application groups that a user is assigned to, you can use the WWV_FLOW_GROUP_USERS intersection table. For example;
    SELECT group_name
    FROM wwv_flow_group_users
    WHERE user_id = (SELECT user_id
    FROM wwv_flow_users
    WHERE user_name ='MRITTMAN')
    would list out all of the groups that the user 'MRITTMAN' belongs to
    So to get all users and their groups, remove the where clause..
    (You will need read rights to the view, some dba's deny read rights to these objects in the name of security..)

  • List normal users and corresponding ops$users in Oracle database in groups

    Hi,
    We are having Oracle database version 11.2.0.2 on Oracle Ent. Linux 5.1. Basically, according to our requirement, we need to list similar users in the database which are having individual usernames as well as their corresponding ops$usernames (in one query).
    Eg. in the database if have users 'xyz' and 'ops$xyz', 'abc' and 'ops$abc', then we need to write a query which can list this users together in groups as below;
    xyz
    ops$xyz
    Similarly,
    abc
    ops$abc.
    Can you help me write a query so that I can list all these similar users residing in my database together.
    Also, later I need to find out the roles and privileges assigned to these users once its listed.
    Thanks in advance.
    ~ Rahul

    Hi, Rahul,
    To ignore leading 'OPS$' when sorting:
    SELECT       username
    FROM       dba_users
    ORDER BY  REGEXP_REPLACE ( username
                            , '^OPS\$'
    ;'$' has a special meaning in regular expressions, so when you literally want a '$' sign, it has to be "escaped" as '\$'.

    Hi Glacket,
    Below codes should give you headsup.
    This command will give you estimate the result count for each group:
    PS C:\Users\Administrator> Get-ADGroup -Filter {Name -like "TestGroup*"} | Select Name, @{Expression={get-adgroupmember $_ -recursive | Measure | Select -ExpandProperty Count};Label="Count"}
    Name Count
    TestGroup1 7
    TestGroup2 8
    Note that as said earlier we are getting duplicated results(12,13,14) for users belonging to multiple groups. Result is in order as per earlier code's count and order.
    Get-ADGroup -Filter {Name -like "TestGroup*"} | get-adgroupmember -recursive | Select Name,@{Expression={Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $_ | Select -ExpandProperty Name};Label="GroupMemberOfName"}
    Name GroupMemberOfName
    User100 {Domain Users, TestGroup1}
    User14 {Domain Users, TestGroup1, TestGroup2}
    User13 {Domain Users, TestGroup1, TestGroup2}
    User12 {Domain Users, TestGroup1, TestGroup2}
    User11 {Domain Users, TestGroup1}
    User10 {Domain Users, TestGroup1}
    User1 {Domain Users, TestGroup1}
    User19 {Domain Users, TestGroup2}
    User18 {Domain Users, TestGroup2}
    User17 {Domain Users, TestGroup2}

    User14 {Domain Users, TestGroup1, TestGroup2}
    User13 {Domain Users, TestGroup1, TestGroup2}
    User12 {Domain Users, TestGroup1, TestGroup2}
    Use below to export to CSV:
    Get-ADGroup -Filter {Name -like "TestGroup*"} | get-adgroupmember -recursive | Select Name,@{Expression={Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership $_ | Select -ExpandProperty Name};Label="GroupMemberOfName"} | Export-Csv C:\ListGroups.csv

  • Report of Users and their groups

    Hi Experts,
    Is there a way to extract all the Hyperion Planning Users and the groups they belong in Hyperion 11.1.2.1 version? I need an excel file having the users and groups.
    Thanks
    Kannan.

    Hello Kannan,
    Yes, a clean list of Users with their Groups...
    Nothing standard. Strange...
    You might see if this export has something you can use. I do not recall it from the vast amount of detail exported here. The file will be generated on the server, so you might need somebody to pick it up and give it to you.
    MaxL command
    export security_file to data_file "essbase_security_file.txt";
    The alternative is to query the Planning repository. Maybe somebody has experience with this?

    Philip

  • Pt:treelink Select Users From Specified Group

    Is there anyway to have the pt:treelink show classid="1' (users) from a specific group? I can pass a rootid="ADMIN_FOLDER_ID" and get it to only list objects in that folder id. I'm looking for something similar to pass a GroupID="X", where X is the group that I want to display users from.
    Thanks,
    Jon Yutzy

    I'm looking for something similar to this, although without specific selecting.
    I would like to popup a list of users inside a group (just to view who's in the group).
    I've seen the plumtree portal itself do this while managing security access to different portal objects. You can click the group name to see who's inside. This is exactly what i'm looking for.
    Considering this post was originally made a year and a half ago, has anything become of this?

    Thanks,

    Hi,
    use the transaction "suim" or the abap report "RSUSR002"
    -> user information system
    open tree -> user -> users by compley.... -> exec. users by complex...
    next screen -> Group for authorization -> select multiple selection (right symb.) -> in the tab 'single vals' -> click on the left symb. -> select '='
    leave the fields blank. -> 'F8' or ok. -> then in the main screen 'F8' or run.
    so you will get all users without a group asignment
    I hope it was helpfully.

  • Importing into a list with user names into People or group

    Hello,
    I am creating a SharePoint 2010 site for a Windows 7 upgrade team.
    We have several external (to SharePoint) lists that need to be available to the SharePoint site.
    List #1 is a list of users, and comes from the company HR system. It has NT login names, email addresses and locality information. (approx. 17500 entries)
    List #2 is a list of applications (approx. 1200) and associated users
    List #3 is a list of workstations (approx. 20,000) and has basic user details
    All three lists will change on a monthly basis as people come and go from the business and we are unable to link directly to each target system.
    I am keen to create a self service portal where the Current Logged in User using equals [me] has their own dashboard page and the lists are shown with their own information and any workstations they have.
    When I import the list from Excel, all columns are single line or number etc, and I don't see a ready way to map to a column type people of group. This means the filter [me] cannot be used.
    Is there any way the current logged in user [me] can filter against information in a list that has been imported ?
    Thanks

    I may have found a solution to this:
    If I use XL to add the domain\ to the username in the Excel sheet prior to import, then use the Current User filter web part, it seems to do the job.
    This is a test on a 100 item list, Ill import the rest and see how efficient it is, and perhaps index the NT Username column ?

  • GroupMemberListerMBean / list users in a group from AD

    Hi!
    I need to fetch out a list of users belonging to a group defined in AD.
    I have tried to use GroupMemberListerMBean, but find little or no information when searching for code/hints about it.
    Have any one tried with LDAP?
    I am using Bea WorkShop for Weblogic Platform v.10.0
    Please assist someone.

    If you are using an old version of Portal, you can use the wwsec_api.users_in_group:
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/html/plsqldoc/pldoc1014/wwsec_api.html#function-users_in_group]
    Otherwise, you can use DBMS_LDAP package to get the unique_member property of the group, and then tokenize it to get all the users. If it does not match what you have in Portal is because the provisioning is not working properly.

  • Getting list of all users and their group memberships from Active Directory

    Hi,
    I want to retrieve a list of all the users and their group memberships through JNDI from Active Directory. I am using the following code to achieve this:
    ==================
    import javax.naming.*;
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    import javax.naming.directory.*;
    public class GetUsersGroups{
         public static void main(String[] args){
              String[] attributeNames = {"memberOf"};
              //create an initial directory context
              Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
              env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
              env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ldap://172.19.1.32:389/");
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION, "simple");
              env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "[email protected]");

                   //get all the groups list
              } catch (NamingException e) {
              System.err.println("Problem encountered 1111:" + e);
    =================
    The following exception gets thrown at every user entry:
    User: CN=Administrator
    am here....1
    Problem encountered....0000:javax.naming.NamingException: [LDAP: error code 1 -
    000020D6: SvcErr: DSID-03100690, problem 5012 (DIR_ERROR), data 0
    ]; remaining name 'CN=Administrator'
    I think it gets thrown at this line in the code:
    Attributes attrs = ctx.getAttributes(userName, attributeNames);
    Any idea how to overcome this and where am I wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards.

    In this sentence:
    Attributes attrs = ctx.getAttributes(userName, attributeNames); // only asked for one attribute so only one should
    It seems Ok when I add "CN=Users,DC=filenetp8,DC=com" after userName, just as
    userName + ",CN=Users,DC=filenetp8,DC=com"
    But I still have some problem with it.
    Hope it will be useful for you.

  • How to get list of Users under an Auth Group (for executable Programs)?

    Hi experts.  I have a requirement to get a list of all users under a particular Auth Group for Program Objects.
    Goal of this requirement is to identify the users allowed to use/access a program - we're doing some sort of Program Inventory and we'd like to identify the users per program, via the Auth Group.
    So question is:  Which tables hold data about Program <-> Auth Group <-> Users, and how are they linked?
    I know this is Basis/Security stuff, but I was thinking of developing a report program to output the information needed.
    Thanks in advance.
    Edited by: George Esquerra on Nov 17, 2011 10:24 AM

    This is available in the standard via tx SUIM - user - users by complex selection criteria - by authorization values.
    If you enter auth object = S_PROGRAM and value = auth group, you will get the list of users.
    You can analyse how this program finds the information and incorporate it into your own logic.

  • List users of a Group

    Hi,
    I've just created some APEX User Groups, and associated users with them. Within the APEX, is there a way that I can list all members of a group in one place: I seem to have to go into each user in turn to find out which groups they being too, which is rather timeconsuming.

    Hi,
    Try running:
    SELECT G.GROUP_NAME, U.USER_NAME
    FROM WWV_FLOW_GROUP_USERS G
    INNER JOIN WWV_FLOW_USERS U ON G.USER_ID = U.USER_IDAndy
