i have an application from which i would like to output text to a webpage every 10 minutes. this may be a little complicated, what sort of things do i need to know about, and is it even possible?

You're right, it is a little complicated. One way to do it is to use servlets. You'll need a MultipartParser. This should get you started:

Web Upload into web page done with Apple iWeb

I use Apple's iWeb program to create a web site where I present my photos. I used Lightroom to create a web page which I would like to upload to the website created with iWeb. I would like to know if we can upload a web page created in Lightroom to a website created in Apple iWeb?

An FTP program will let you drag and drop the folder created in Lightroom Web module to your own website. There are many free FTP programs available if you don’t have one. The left hand panel mirrors the folders on your hard drive and the right hand panel mirrors your website when you are logged in (click image below for an example) and you simply drag and drop to your root directory folder. A progress bar at the bottom shows the file being uploaded to your website.
Supposing your site was Groove28.com and you created a Lightroom slideshow saved in a folder called wedding. You would upload the wedding folder using FTP and when complete the slideshow would automatically start when you link to it in a web browser.
The path would be something like:

Or
www.Groove28.com/wedding/index.html

We tried to upload are web page but its not loading correctly as laid out? any suggestions?

What version of iWeb are you using? How are you uploading to the FTP server: via iWeb or a 3rd party FTP client. A little detail on the situation would help immensely.

How i upload a web page named index.html generated by NI Web UI Builder in thin client application on world wide Web

Hello All,
I have an example which use simulated signal with its web service generated by LabVIEW. Then an application of this web service was created using NI web UI builder. And application was build and deployed on NI Cloud Portal, a zip file was downloaded of that project after build and deploying application.
The downloaded file contain a thin client application like :index.html page, readme file etc.
Now problems is this index.html runs easily on http://localhost:8080/appname/index.html or on my computer name like
http://iaa42:8080/appname/index.html web page runs and shows updated values in indicators and graphs but when i use ip address of my system like http://192.168.1.6:8080/appname/index.html , index.html runs but the values in indicator and graphs remains 0 (zero) constantly. how can i get all indicators and graphs updating continously on by using my ip address like same when i use localhost or computer name in url bar. 1st problem is this.
Now 2nd question.
I get a page index.html in a zip file built by NI web UI builder now i want this page to be viewed by every one world wide
where should i upload that code. Should NI Cloud Portal be my hosting server for that web page ? or i have to purchase a domain other than NI cloud portal?

Hi Waqas,
For your first question, my first thoughts turn to your router (which I assume you are using with a 192.168.x.x address). Are you sure you are configuring your ports and firewalls to allow NI services to function? Here is a really good resource on how to check if your ports and firewalls are configured properly:

For your second question, when you deploy a web service you are hosting it on your local machine. If you wanted to host it elsewhere (i.e. another server or another domain) you would have to be sure that the server hosting your application has the LabVIEW run-time engine installed.

Lightroom 1.1 Server timeout message when uploading a web page

I just updated to LTR 1.1 and now I'm sitting here looking at an error message for most of the day when ever I want to make a Web Page in LTR.
It tells me the Server is not responding and It's timing out.
I called my ISP and Server both are okay. What can I do or, who can I call to make things work a little ?

This looks like the URL has the content of a wiki page as an attachment to the URL which is blowing up the get request. Can you go to the earlier version - the history should allow you to backtrack changes - if you access this earlier version and change something small - does it save OK. If so then maybe the change you made is the problem.
I cannot access the workspace without being given explicit access so this is a guess.

Web Gallery - Upload from web page doesn't work

I've created a web gallery with upload permissions set, no name or password, and none of my friends or relatives can get anything to successfully upload.
I'm using iPhoto 8 version 7.0.2 (341) to build my web gallery, but uploading for others just doesn't work. They get the dialog to enter their name and email, they can choose images, they get the progress window, then nothing. I've deleted the gallery and rebuilt it, I've renamed it, I've looked in my _gallery folders on iDisk, and so no, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.
Anybody know what's up with the Gallery?

I've not used the upload but some have reported that it does not work BUT that uploading via e-mail does work -- give the e-mail route a try as a work around and report the problem to Apple -- iPhoto menu ==> Provide iPhoto Feedback

Uploading Modified Web Pages

Hi,
I have Golive CS (7.0.2) and I was able to publish my site okay. Problem is when I had changes to the pages, I uploaded the modified changes, the new changes dont appear on my server.
I have to delete everything then republish and the changes take okay. Is there a way to figure out why the changes/modified changes dont appear on the server?

Could be a browser cache issue. The changes may be there, your browser may just be reading the file it originally cached rather than the new file from the internet. Hold Shift when clicking the Refresh button while connected to the site.
Are you uploading from the site window, or are you using a secondary program like Fetch? Could your changed pages have been loaded to a different directory by accident and never truly overwritten the original files?
Do you have the right permissions set on the server? Sometimes you can have Read, Write and Delete, but Overwrite gets forgotten. Changes would not be allowed by the server. If that were the case, you should have gotten error messages from the server during upload though.
I think that does it for reasons I can think of. Any of those fit?

Uploading a web page that I have designed myself

Forgive me asking this but I am newbie to Macs and are slowly unraveling this wonderfull concept. I have checked out the templates that iWeb provides and I would like to design my own and upload them. I have looked and cannot find any reference to doing this.Is this possible?

Unable to Upload .ai Files to my Web Page

I secured a domain name and hosting provider, but am unable to upload my web pages, which were designed using Illustrator CS5. They are in .ai format and the .html version won't upload due to the incomplete '4 KB' size. How do I convert the files from ".ai " to enable me to upload my web pages? Illustrator's Save for Web command is designed as tool that helps you create graphics suitable for use on a web-site. I upload an a.KEYNOTE file which is quite alright on my local computer to the server (3.1.2). After successfully uploading, the web page keeps trying to display the file, but no stopping, just trying. Strangely, the name could be correctly displayed, just content keeps waiting.
But if I upload an a.PAGES file to the sever, the name is switched to a.PAGES.zip. Of course, the PAGES file cannot be displayed on the screen, just like the KEYNOTE file mentioned above, waiting and waiting, non-stop!
I reviewed many treads on the forum trying to find answers, but failed. A similar question like a a.PAGES.zip situation was found in a thread, but no one replies it.
So anyone had the same problem could tell me what's going on? And how to fix this problem?

WEB PAGE'S LOADING INTO AN AIR FOR iOS PROJECT

I have a complicated problem. I try to find a solution everywhere but I didn’t find anything.
I’m creating a project Air for iOS with Flash CS5 and Flash CS6. I need to find somebody that know how to upload a web page inside an app.
I try to explain better. There is yet a task for upload an html link, but it just work in a new browser window. In this way, every time I want to see a web page, the app will be close. Is it possible to import all the web page inside the Air for ios project, and not in an external window?

i used StageWebView class and i wrote this code:

The web page opens correctly without using the browser but it opens into all project's frames.
Is it possible to open the web page only in the frame one (for example) ????

Some Web pages will not load.

I just purchased 2 new Macbooks from Apple and they run great except
neither will upload specific Web pages(USAToday,Huffington Post are
2 examples). This happens with Safari and Firefox. They start to
load and stall.Both of the Macs do this, my wife's Dell operates
normally. Any Ideas?

Pdf documents not added on web pages

Hi!
I've got problems adding pdf documents in iWeb.
I'm doing it the way I've always done it:
I insert some text (or a picture) and activate a hyperlink (linking it to a pdf document). I then save and upload the web pages via ftp to my webhost.
This has always worked in the past.
However, now, when I visit the website and click the link to the pdf document I just get a 404-message saying the requested file can't be found on the server.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried publishing you site to a local folder and launching it in the browser by double clicking the index.html file to see if the link works in this version of your site?
Doing this will let you know if the problem is in iWeb or with FTP. If the local version works then the problem is with FTP. If not then you need to troubleshoot iWeb.
Its better to use a hyphen instead of a space in a URL.
