Upscaled images look blurry, is there a way to sharpen them? In particular, zooming on pages with images that actually contain only text are hard to read.

I am zooming in on my homework in mastering physics. I am using a large screen and sitting far away. It uses a lot of images containing the text I need to read, but when the images are upscaled, they become very blurry and hard to read. A simple sharpen effect after it is resized would fix the problem. Is there a way to do this in firefox? like a command line switch or maybe something in about:config? Thanks

It may sound counter-intuitive, but could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"

The box is called Headers and is used for thing that will be repeated on several pages like page numbering and names etc.. You can uncheck it in the Inspector > Document tab

Annoying bar on the right side of my browser, makes the text and resolution of things inside the browser look blurry, is there any way to fix this?

That annoying bar makes the whole browser become blurry in resolution and it even affects how I click on links, for example lets say I click on link, the browser will think im just highlighting text and make me click about half an inch to the right in order to click the link I want. I guess the transparent bar throws off the browser as if that bar isn't there but yet the browser has adjusted to fit the faulty resolution. I know about computers and I'm not a stay at home mom that has no idea how to fix things, if you notice the image the browser is fully opened, as in the button that has the square to make the browser fit the window is clicked, so the browser is set to fit. This is really annoying because it just throws off the way I use it and the functionality is not there any more.

If the Firefox window isn't maximized can you then drag te windows borders to make it fill the full screen width?
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

I know there is a sharpening brush under the affects brushes, but is there a way to apply a sharpening or unsharp mask filter to an entire image or layer? This would be very helpful.

Is there a way to display canvas and MathML in one page with Firefox 3.6?

I can use the canvas element in a HTML5 document with the current Firefox. I can also display MathML with a xhtml+math doctype. But I couldn't find a way to use them together in the same document.
I am aware that it works with the current Firefox 4 beta using a HTML5 doctype.

There is no supported method to downgrade the iOS on a device.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Where is your basic address book? On Yahoo? Or outlook? Check those two. If are in Yahoo try to export from there and import to outlook. Then close contact syncing on emails account in your iPhone and sync through iTunes. Omes you have your contacts in iPhone open Contacts in iCloud settings (iPhone) and look if its syncs. If yes uncheck Contacts syncing in iTunes (under info tab) and keep syncing through iCloud.

Is there a way to scroll between footnotes in the new pages version and to actually copy an old text with footnotes into the new version without losing them or having them in the text?

Since my update I am no longer able to scroll between the footnotes. I have to klick on each one to change something. That is unbearable since I have to write a lot of academic texts which usally have a ton of different footnotes. Photos are meant to be uploaded to your computer for archival and storage. Certainly before doing something as major as a software update, you've done this, correct? In this case, your photos should be residing safely on your computer and you can just synch them back.

Contacts are synced with a compatible programme on your computer (Outlook, Windows Contacts, Address book etc) or with a cloud service (iCLoud, Google, Yahoo). Sync your contacts back from wherever you were making the backup of them. If you have not been backing them anywhere, then they are most likely gone.
If you updated the iOS through iTunes and assuming that your photos were present at the time of update and you deleted the photos afterwards; you may try restoring the iPhone from the last backup, provided that you had not synced your iPhone after deleting the photos.

My images look blurry when I export or publish my site from Muse. Why and how do I fix it?

My images look blurry, jagged, pixelated and low quality when I publish or export my site from Muse. Is there any way to avoid or fix this problem?

The primary cause of blurring images is the less than Photoshop-quality image downsampling algorithm currently used in Muse (that was compounded in early betas due to a bug in the JPEG compression library we were using at that time). Due to work we've done for Beta 7 to improve image encoding performance we now have the infrastructure in place to enable us to take a much better image resampler/resizer (after Beta 7), so this source of blurring will be addressed.
The other source of blurring is unique to opaque images containing line art or otherwise containing hard edges and large areas of solid color. When an image is opaque Muse will encode it as JPEG (if it's altered in Muse is a way that requires re-encoding). For line art this will introduce JPEG compression artifacts that can be noticeable depending on your eye and the specific image involved.
There are (at least) to ways to avoid these JPEG compression artifacts:
Resize your image before placing and avoid applying any effects (rounded corners, drop shadow, etc.) or doing any cropping or resizing in Muse. If the image is unaltered your original JPEG, PNG or GIF will be passed through unaltered.*
Put at least one pixel of transparency in your original image. (It could be a single 99% opaque pixel.) This will force Muse to encode as PNG. PNG compression is lossless and thus doesn't introduce any compression artifacts. However, an average PNG can be 5 times the size of a JPEG for the same image, so there is an impact to webpage download performance.
*For PSD files Muse has to encode the original PSD data into some web-friendly image format. If an image is resized in Photoshop and placed Muse won't resize/resample the image data, but it will encode it as JPEG or PNG depending on whether it contains transparency.

I've tried using crop and linear wipe effects but both of these effects take way from the outside of the image moving in. I'm trying to find a way to take away from inside of the image and move out. Basically making a window, if you will, to view the video layer underneath.

Crop wasn't such a bad idea.
Drop to be revealed clip in V1.
Drop clip for the curtain effect in V2 and add crop.
Set first keyframe at say 1 second for LEFT 50%, second keyframe at say 2 seconds to 100%
Add the clip for the curtain effect again but on V3 (superimposded).
Add crop.
Now animate RIGHT: 1 second 50% at 2 seconds 100%.
Done
