Upset that I STILL can't log & transfer .mts files from Canon HF100

Upgraded to 4.1, Apple says it's compatible with the HF100. I can access the files on the camera's card via USB cable, but have tried everything to log & transfer into fce4 - absolutely no luck. Keep getting "invalid directory structure" error. I have the newest Intel Imac, Snow Leopard 6.2.
Please help or I'm giving up and getting a refund. I mean, iMOVIE can import the &%$! files.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you exactly describe what you're doing and how FCE behaves?
Do you see a preview of the clips after connecting the camera?
Try to import using iMovie, when this works, it should in FCE somehow, too.
I googled a bit around and found someone having the same problem (but unfortunately in german language).
He has formatted the SD card using the camera, then it worked. But the clips beeing on the SD card before are still lost. But if you backup before, you can convert the .mts files into .mov and then import it into FCE.
Some other possible source of errors:
- is the HF 100 power cable connected for transfer? (it has to be)
- did you see the "mode selection" screen when connecting to your Mac?
- if yes, did you select the "PC mode" there?
- does the USB port you are using work with other devices?
- can you try using an SD Card reader instead of the camera?
- do you see the camera device icon after connecting to your mac?
- can you try it on another Mac if it works? (if not, it may be a manufacturing issue)
At moment no more ideas...

You can download the 7.1 DNG converter to make copies of your canon raw files in the adobe dng format, which can then be opened in pse 9.
As said above the the latest camera raw plugin 6.5 for pse 9 won't open those files directly, but will open the the converted dng files.

Can Aperture 3 read Raw files from Canon G1X?

Is Aperture 3 capable of reading Raw files from a Canon G1X?
I'm currently using an elderly version of IPhoto, having resisted upgrading because of negative feedback about the latest version. My IPhoto version cannot read the Raw files from the G1X. I also tried importing one into Picassa, but the colours looked completely wierd.
I'm now considering buying Aperture 3 but will maybe wait until:
a. Aperture 4 is released and;
b. I know that Aperture can indeed read the Raw files from the G1X.
Any help/advice gratefully received.

What is your MacOS version? Perhaps upgrading to 10.7.4 should make the raw support available in iPhoto too.

Problem is need to log off computer to go from one web site to another with message that program still running. Logging off to go from email to something else is very time consuming and annoying.

Troublesome need to log off between switching from Yahoo to another website with message that program is still running.

Terminate Firefox from the "Processes" tab of the Windows Task Manager not the "Applications" tab. Then select firefox.exc and use the right-click context menu to "End Process" or use the "End Process" button on the selected process.
Windows 7 keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" will go directly to the Windows Task Manager and reopen the last tab that you had open.

(1) Upgrade to PSE 10 or awit the forthcoming PSE11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your CR2 files to the Adobe Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your original CR2’s as backup) or (3) Use Canon DPP bundled with your camera.

I have updated my PSE9 and still can not open the RAW files from my new camera, I get an error?

I bought a new camera (Canon T5i) and took photos in RAW, tried to open them in PSE9 and they wouldn't open. I got the following error...

I have been to the link & downloaded what update it had. I have also done the available updates on my PSE9 and I am still getting this error messge. When I called Canon regarding this they said I needed to contact Adobe.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or not doing so I can open these files???

The T5 is supported by Camera RAW 8.4 which needs PSE12. You can use the Canon software to convert RAW to TIF or the Adobe DNG Converter. The converter will convert the CR2 files to Adobes RAW DNG format that will open in PSE9's RAW processor. http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html#downloads.

Why can't I transfer music files from i-Tunes to my 30GB ipod?

I have just updated the software on my ipod, and now there seems to be a major problem. When I drag a song from the i-Tunes library to the ipod folder it has a 30% success rate - the other 70% gets the message "attempting to copy to the disk 'name' failed. An unknown error occured (-48)." What on earth does this mean?
NB. yes my preferences are set to manual update

Is there an easy way to convert and import MTS files from a external hardrive so that I can edit them in FCP?

I am trying to convert game footage that is in MTS format to something that I can edit into a quick highlights video. I have final cut express and the standard IMovie '09. looking for easiest solution, everything seems to involve using one application to convert to Quicktime and then dropping file into Iphoto etc. is there an easy way?

I'm not completely sure that MPEG Streamclip can convert AVCHD footage (.mts files). If MPEG Streamclip doesn't do the job, then get a copy of Clipwrap, which was designed for transcoding .mts files to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec (that's the format/codec you need to convert the .mts files to for use in FCE).

Actually, you can use iCloud and the way that you so it is to log into iCloud.com on the Mac (use Safari for best results) click on the Pages icon and then drag the Pages files into the browser window. It works the other way around as well. Log into iCloud.com on the Mac and download the files from Pages (that you created on the iPad) in iCloud onto your Mac. You can click on the file in the documents window and select it to Download by clicking on the Gear icon or right click upon the file and select download.
The files will then sync to the Pages app on the iPad - assuming hat you have use iCloud tuned on in Settings>Pages>Use iCloud>On. I have an iMac running Tiger 10.4.11 that I can still move Pages/Word files back and forth Iike this.
Also, File Sharing with iTunes is a great way to move the files back and forth.

The computer has to be authorized for the account that purcchased the media.
What error message are you getting when you try to lauthorize the computer for that account?
