• Writing XML document using form values

Being new to java/xml I'm strugling with this task:
I have a web form and I need to pass the values from the form to a class that will then create an xml file using the form values.
I've looked through the JAXP tutorial and Sun's XML tutorial but can't find anything that would suit my needs.
Could anyone help me on how I should go about doing this?
Does anyone have any sample code?

with JAXP, you can either :
- build a new XML document from scratch, using DOM, and append each node, each value,
- create a style sheet that generates an XML document, receiving the web form values as parameters, processed with XSLT.

• URGENT: Calling Pro C from Forms

Hi All,
How to call a Pro C function from forms?
Can i call a function declared inside a DLL or i can only call a Pro C executable?
Where can i look for more information?
TIA
Naveen

Naveen
If you are trying to call a user exit written in PRO*C ( I assume ur OS is Windows since u re talking about DLL) then yes you can make a dll then likn this dll and call it from ur forms using user_exit. Refer Forms help
But If you wanna call a pure Pro*c program then call the executable ( nothing but a compiled C program) using probably host command

If you are running on the Web try using the Web.Show_document built in.
If you are in C/S try the Host built-in.

• Urgent: Calling Reports from Oracle Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2) fails

Problem displaying a report from within Oracle 10g forms.
After a lot of work, we are able to access and actually display a report directly from Internet explorer and view the report from the report server as well.
The successful url was:
http://york.vrc.virginia.gov:7778/reports/rwservlet
?report=/u01/app/oracle/produ ct/vrcmidtier/reports/vrc/pmw41051.rdf
&userid=vrcpr/vrcpr@vrctest&destype=cache&desformat=HTML
The form displays correctly back to the screen
When executing from within the form, however, the report runs but does not display back to the screen.
Forms Steps so far:
created a report object called pmw41050
static parameters are:
file name: /u01/app/oracle/product/vrcmidtier/reports/vrc/pmw41051.rdfination format
execution mode: batch
communication mode: synchronous
destination name; null
destination format: HTML
reportserver:: vrc_york_midtier
Built a when button pressed trigger as follows:
declare
l_report_file varchar2(200);
l_report_id REPORT_OBJECT;
l_report_status varchar2(200);
begin
-- capture the report
l_report_file := 'pmw41051';
l_report_id := find_report_object(l_report_file);
-- set the parameters for this output
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE, BATCH);
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_COMM_MODE, SYNCHRONOUS);
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESTYPE, CACHE);
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESFORMAT, 'PDF');
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_SERVER, 'rep_york_vrcmidtier');
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_OTHER, 'PARAMFORM=NO');
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESNAME, 'DESNAME');
-- and run the report
l_report_status := run_report_object(l_report_id);
-- monitor progress
while l_report_status in ('RUNNING', 'OPENING_REPORT', 'ENQUEUED') loop
l_report_status := report_object_status(l_report_status);
end loop;
message('back from the report'); -- test message for return
end;
The report executes without error (as indicated by the message on the last line) but does NOT display back to the screen
checking the rwservlet/showjobs verifies the report completed and the reportcan be displayed from there.
So, bottom line: how to make a 10g form call report and display it on the screen?

Thanks MIke for your feedback...
Will this surfice?

• Xml Document is not formed correctly.. Help me..

Using the .xsd files provided to me, I created XMLBeans using the schema project in weblogic 8.1 sp2.
These XMLBeans are used to create a XML document in my Weblogic Integration process. The values in the xml document are retrieved from a database (which cannot administered/viewed by me). XML document was formed perfectly. But recently when I tried running the application again, I found that the xml is not created properly.
When I tried to print the xml message, it displays the xml message with the first letter changed from '<' to '<'.
eg.
<batch_document>
</batch_document> is displayed as
<batch_document>
</batch_document>
What may be the reason behind this change. Is it possible because of some invalid data from the backend? If so, what could be the data?
Is there any special characters which when inserted between the elements makes the document like this?
The code that creates the xml document looks like this ...
BatchDocumentDocument bDoc= BatchDocumentDocument.Factory.newInstance();
BatchDocument bd= bDoc.addNewBatchDocument();
System.out.println(bDoc.toString());
The print statement prints the xml message as
<batch_document>
</batch_document>
I would be grateful even if I am answered with any of these questions.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Elango,
Have you tried validating the instance document using the validate() method

You need to escape certain characters in order to make XML documents well formed. The problem in this case is the less than sign between companynumber and 1000. You should replace it with <

• Error in webservice call | Error in XML Document(1,358)

Hi all,
We currently have a web service developed in Java, which we're calling from
a dot net coded windows form. this web service is returning an object of type
abc (say). Now, when we try and get a response from java server on the form,
i'm getting the following error:
There is an error in XML document (1, 358)
Does this have something to do with a java serialised object not being able
to get deserialised in dot net? Or is it something else?
Also, I have a web reference that has been created on this java web service.
This I believe means that the object that we're trying to get on the dot net
client would be the java object that is being sent from the web service.
Point to be noted is the fact that this web service was working absolutely fine till about 2 days ago.
Any pointers are gladly appreciated.
Cheers!
Nick

Sorry for not mentioning the product versions:
The bpel process was build and deployed with Jdeveloper Studio edition version 10.1.3.1.0.3984 on a Bpel server/Application Server with version 10.1.3.1 (NT).

• Very urgent help needed- Error while passing XML document to Oracle stored

Hi !
I have been struggling a lot to call Oracle 9i stored procedure passing Stringbuilder object type from ASP.NET
I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional, OS: Windows XP and Oracle: 9.2.0.1.0
Following is the procedure:
CREATE or REPLACE PROCEDURE loadCompanyInfo (clobxml IN clob) IS
-- Declare a CLOB variable
ciXML clob;
BEGIN
-- Store the Purchase Order XML in the CLOB variable
ciXML := clobxml;
-- Insert the Purchase Order XML into an XMLType column
INSERT INTO companyinfotbl (companyinfo) VALUES (XMLTYPE(ciXML));
commit;
--Handle the exceptions
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
raise_application_error(-20101, 'Exception occurred in loadCompanyInfo procedure :'||SQLERRM);
END loadCompanyInfo ;
And following is the ASP.net code:
StringBuilder b = new StringBuilder();
b.Append("");
b.Append("
");
b.Append("<price>500</price>");
b.Append("
some item
");
b.Append("<quantity>5</quantity>");
b.Append("
");
//Here you'll have the Xml as a string
string myXmlString1 = b.ToString();
//string result;
using (OracleConnection objConn = new OracleConnection("Data Source=testdb; User ID=testuser; Password=pwd1"))
OracleCommand objCmd = new OracleCommand();
objCmd.Connection = objConn;
objCmd.CommandText = "loadCompanyInfo";
objCmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
//OracleParameter pmyXmlString1 = new OracleParameter("pmyXmlString1", new OracleString(myXmlString1));
objCmd.Parameters.Add("myXmlString1", OracleType.clob);
objCmd.Parameters.Add(myXmlString1).Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
//objCmd.Parameters.Add("result", OracleType.VarChar).Direction = ParameterDirection.Output;
try
objConn.Open();
objCmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
catch (Exception ex)
Label1.Text = "Exception: {0}" + ex.ToString();
objConn.Close();
When I am trying to execute it, I am getting the following error:
Exception: {0}System.Data.OracleClient.OracleException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'LOADCOMPANYINFO' ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignored at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleConnection.CheckError(OciErrorHandle errorHandle, Int32 rc) at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleCommand.Execute(OciStatementHandle statementHandle, CommandBehavior behavior, Boolean needRowid, OciRowidDescriptor& rowidDescriptor, ArrayList& resultParameterOrdinals) at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleCommand.ExecuteNonQueryInternal(Boolean needRowid, OciRowidDescriptor& rowidDescriptor) at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at Default.Button1Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)
I understand from this that the .net type is not the correct one, but I am not sure how to correct it. I could not find any proper example in any documentation that I came across. Most of the examples give information on how to read but not how to insert XML into Oracle table by calling Stored Procedure.
Can you please help me to solve this problem? I hope that you can help solve this.
Also, can you please give me an example of passing XML document XMLdocument to Oracle Stored procedure.
In both the cases, if you can provide the working code then it would be of great help.
Thanks,

• Simple Transformation from Adobe Form XML document to Dictionary structures

I have an XML document that I am receiving via email (the XML document is generated from an Adobe Interactive form). I would like to write a simple transformation that will map that XML document to a structure and internal table in my ABAP program. I am new to Simple Transformations and I am having trouble working out how to write a simple transformation for this type of XML document. I would prefer to write a custom transformation rather than using the identity transformation (ID). I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Please refer to the below for an example of the XML file.
This maps directly to 2 dictionary structures that exist within our system containing all of the same components. PIM_REQUEST_HDR has a corresponding SAP dictionary structure Y_REQUEST_HDR and PIM_REQUEST_ITEMS has a corresponding SAP dictionary structure Y_REQUEST_ITEMS.
Can anyone help with some instructions or examples of how to create the simple transformation?

• Creating a form based on what is in an XML Document

Hi ,
Has any one got suggestiongs on how I would read an XML document and based on what is in the document create an input form using JSF .
Thanks for your help.

Straightforward way is to create a custom component which in the encode* methods reads in the xml file and adds appropriate child components programmatically. I find JSF actually particularly suitable for this kind of work. In my case the content of the form is deducted from a JPA entity classes instead of XML files, but i think the principle would be very similar.

• Call XML Schema based Adobe form from ABAP Program

Hi,
I have a scenario where an online Interactive form is designed and its working fine. Now i have a requirement to call the same Adobe form from a report for viewing purpose. Since it is XML Schema based Interface, is it possible to call the same form instead of creating a new one with the same template? Because i tried to call the same Adobe form by passing the values and converting those to XML(By Creating Transformation). Then i converted the XML to XSTRING and passed to the Generated Function Module for Input paramter "/1bcdwb/docxml". This resulted in an error "com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.Processin".
Please help me out in solving this and check the attachment for code.
Thanks,
Raj

Hi,

and Now call the generated function module
pass the following in docparams

• MII BLS Trasaction calling SAP RFC call - How to pass XML document as input parameter

Hi,
1. I am very new to the SAP and SAP xMII workbench.
I have a webpage with iGrid applet embedded on it. We have multiple rows in the iGrid applet that can be selected by user.
After selecting single or multiple grid rows user clicking a 'button' on the web page.
We are using iCommand applet (ExacuteQuery] to call the BLS transaction.
Using iCommand applet on the webpage we are passing parameters to BLS Transaction.
Would like to pass on the single/ multiple selected grid row values as a XML document to BLS Transaction variable which is an Input parameter for SAP RFC call.
I am using SAP JCo Session to make the RFC call.
Any pointers will be helpful.
2. Which is a best track in SAP training courses to get formal training.
Thanks,
Senthil

Hi Senthil,
What version of MII (or xMII) are you working with? There are some examples of this type of transaction in the wiki which you may want to download and take a look at.

• XML document does not appear to contain a properly formed DOCTYPE header

Hi,
I've created an ejb which uses the studio API to start/execute etc the workflow
tasks in a generic way. The same ejb contain certain method which I want to use
as business operations in my workflows. However, when I deploy this ejb as a separate
application by putting the required jar files in class path it works fine, but
when I deploy it as a part of WLI application for accessing the business operations
in workflow I'm getting the following error. I'm entering ejbcomponent entry under
the wli application tag of config.xml and putting the jar file in the lib directory
where other jar files are placed. I couldn't understand the reason why it is failing
when I deploy it as a part of WLI application and not when I deploy it independently.
