Urgent: custom action buttons

i tried to program a midlet for the siemens s55 using custom action buttons (i.e. start, back, actions) but the siemens s55 doesn't show the action buttons like in the emulator instead it shows for example its own action buttons (i.e. options) and within that action button i find my own action buttons - or it simple adds an action button where i don't want to have one - how can i avoid that?
or to put it that way: what i can implement in a midlet that shows action buttons just like in the emulator and that on any mobile phone?
or if there isn't a solution for the above mentioned problem then how can i rename standard action buttons?

buurdb is correct. The mapping between the Commands added and the device's soft-buttons is at the implementation's discretion. If you are targetting a specific device only, then you can try to play around with the Command types and priorities to get the placement you want (the success you'll have depends on the device). In general it is advisable (specially if you want the application to be as portable as possible) to just just Command types and priorities that acurately reflect the actual Commands and let the implementation do their best job to map them successfully.

    Is it possible to customize the ribbon in the Project Center through a Solution? Is the only way to add a button to the Ribbon through an app?
    I am using Project Server 2013 on Prem and every time I deploy a custom action - button to the ribbon in the Project Center the button becomes greyed out/disabled and says "This control is currently disabled." I haven't been able to find any examples

    Hello,
    You can add a new button using a SharePoint feature or via an app. If you haven't see the links below already, take a look. These are for 2010 but would be very similar for 2013:

  • Button to execute custom action(s)

    I have created 3 custom actions which print, e-mail, and fax Opportunities when executed.   These actions work perfect from the SAP GUI, but I am unable to execute them from PCUI CRM as there is no button which is linked to these actions.   Please note that there is a button which prints the opprotunity, and a button which sends an e-mail, but these buttons do not execute the custom Actions which I have created!
    I would like to add a button (custom or standard) to PCUI CRM which would execute my custom Actions.
    I understand how to add buttons to PCUI CRM, but I do not know how to link that button to my custom actions.   Is this even necessary?   I see an "Actions" button, but am not sure if this will automatically link to the custom actions.
    Thanks in advance for any and all responses to my post.

    Thanks for your your help but it was the same thing Timo said before and it didn´t work for me. But I found out what was wrong :) and you were both right.
    I used a template that had a form and when I inserted a form on the page this form was inside the form in the template and that did so that it didn´t work.

  • New Button : Custom Action

    Hi Experts,
        i have a VC application which display Sales Order Information based on the Customer, Material & Sales Organization. There are two buttons submit & reset everything works fine. Now i wish to add new button validate with custom event like checking if entry has been made for all the 3 fields.
    so i create a btnValidate & custom Action actValidate, where should i enter the logic of what should happen on actValidate ??
    i am on NW CE EPH1    visual composer 7.1
    Regards
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant
    In order to validate the 3 fields (check they are not blank) using your new button follow the next steps:
    1. For each of the 3 fields you wish to validate do the following:
    Right click the field and from the context menu select Configure. In the Validation area of the Configure  task   panel u2013 where you set the validation rules and the validation behavior check the Required box (or set a specific rule in the Rules field) and change the Behavior to Severe (instead of Normal).
    2. Right click your new button and from the context menu select Action...
    After assigning your custom action to the button, in the Validation area of the Define Action Dialog Box (The right tab) of your new button  - where you set the validation scope (none, Control, Element, Window) make sure this scope is set to Element (this is the default) and change the validation behavior to Permissive (instead of Normal).
    I Hope this helps, for any further information feel free to continue the thread or contact me.
    Also, a more detailed information about using the validation rules can be found [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/ed/5f05491f814bb08865213d29f36af5/frameset.htm]

  • Custom actions - can we send email with VC button?

    Hi all,
    I wonder if there is a way to create custom actions for button in VC so that we can use to send an email with predefined content and some fields from a table? Will appreciate any idea reply real quick.
    Thanks very much,
    Tien.

    Hi,
    Currently you cannot trigger a background mail sending from VC. However, you can use the "hyperlink" system action on the button, and create a mailto: link.
    This way the default mail editor will open up when clicking this button.
    You can use dynamic expressions to build dynamic Recipient/Subject/Body to this mail message that will automatically be created for the user when clicking this button, and then the user can edit the mail message and send it.

    Hi Carl,
    As a security policy, a new customer cannot upload images and links. You can try to add links as text and upload your images to Onedrive and share it temporarily.
    Thanks,

  • Custom Action to change selected column's Background color for a table in CEWP

    I have a OOTB CEWP. When I insert a table to this, I would like to see a context menu that would give me an option to change the selected cell's/row's/table's properties like cell padding/cell spacing/background color etc.
    How can this be achieved using SP2013 ribbon's custom actions. It would be great if we could add all these properties on a separate contextual tab when row/cell/table is selected.
    Rajasekar A.C

    Hi,
    If the table in Content Editor Web Part, we don’t need to use SharePoint Ribbon to achieve it.
    We can insert some input button and use jQuery to change the table tr/td background color.
    The code like this:
    <style type="text/css">
    .highlight {
    background-color: red;
    </style>
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(function () {
    $("#TableID tr").click(function () {
    $(this).toggleClass("highlight");
    </script>

  • How to display action buttons on iPad app?

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to display "action buttons" in my custom BO's TI in advanced list panes. For each of these table I created LayoutStackPanel where inside I have icon with defined event handler. In web UI version everything works fine. "Action button" appears and event handler is triggered on click.
    When I open same TI on iPad, first of all Table is displayed as grid, not table, but I assume that is how iPad player generates that. But my created icon is not visible in specific row (I haven't allowed hover option as I thought iPad can't handle hover event), and even switching TI into edit mode it's not appearing and event handler isn't triggered.
    I wonder if there is around some detailed guide, best practice doc which covers how we can design our screens for iPads.
    Thanks,
    Uldis

    Hello Uldis,
    Please try to follow these steps to create it from scratch. It guides you on how to create a Delete button, so you can use is as a reference for futher action buttons:
    1. Drag and Drop ‘LayoutStackPanel’ from ToolBox to List Column.
    2. Right Click on the column and Select Model ‘LayoutStackPanel’. Add an icon over there.
    3. Set the property ‘Visible on Hover’ of Layout Control to True.
    4. Create an action on your BO node called Delete<NodeName>. Generate the script file and add this snippet:
    this.Delete();
    5. Set the property ‘On Click’ in UI Designer.
    Create EventHandler calling the BO action. The EventHandler and "Misc" name must contain "Remove" or "Delete" as prefix to identify as a deletion column. As sample you can check the "Account Team" facet of account Thing Inspector:
    /BYD_COD/SalesOnDemand/Account/UI/COD_Account_TI.TI.uicomponent
    Click on the "Items" collection as following figure shows:
    Then set the Icon ‘OnClick' event to your delete event previously defined.
    Let me know if that worked for you.

  • Interactive Report - Add a 'custom' Action Menu Item

    Hi,
    I'm wondering if it is possible to add 'custom' Action menu items to an interactive report?
    I have a situation where I want to use all the richness that an interactive report gives with it's out of the box functionality, then if a download is selected I need to be able to set a 'lock' on the currently selected records set before the records are downloaded.
    I've had a good look around the forum and various other sites and I can't seem to find anything in this area. The nearest I can find is on the OBD tutorials the ability to add a 'Reset' button.
    I know how to create custom download functionality, to which I could add the required record locking functionality and in turn link to a button, but what I don't know how to do is pull out the selection variables from the Interactive Report in order to construct my select query.
    Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and there's a better way if so any suggestions would be most welcome.
    Many thanks in advance Peter..

    Hi,
    For your issue, in SharePoint Designer, Click Custom Action->View Ribbon->Create Custom Action.
    Then the extra form will show up in the Ribbon.

  • How to hide custom actions from Oracle Worklist Application (Conceptual)

    Hi,
    I have a conceptual question in relation to Worklist Application and the Oracle Workflow. I will explain, now:
    This is the image that demonstrate the situation (worklist app console): http://i53.tinypic.com/34h9ilw.png
    As you can see, i have 4 custom actions (ENVIAR_ANALISE_FRAUDE, APROVAR, REPROVAR, ENVIAR_ANALISE_NIVEL2) and i have three main regions in the image
    (Action By Menu 1, Action By Menu 2 and Action By Button 3).
    I have to make same custom validations when the user to choose any action, then inside of the JSPX file (Human Task Page Generated), i made the following customizations to reach my objective:
    1) At the Region 2 (Action By Menu 2) - I delete these lines of code to hide the actions:
    <af:group id="g2">
    <af:forEach var="childNode1"
    items="#{actionAvailable.customActions}">
    <af:commandMenuItem textAndAccessKey="#{childNode1.displayName}"
    actionListener="#{invokeActionBean.setAction}"
    action="#{invokeActionBean.action}"
    partialSubmit="false" id="cmi2">
    <f:attribute name="ACTION_MENU_ITEM"
    value="#{childNode1.action}"/>
    </af:commandMenuItem>
    </af:forEach>
    </af:group>
    2) At the Region 3 (Action By Button 3), i change the default action button's to point to my managed bean action and make the required custom validations, in accordance to my requirements. After that i made my validations, i call some lines of code to make with the Oracle Workflow executes your default internal functions when an action is clicked.
    <af:commandToolbarButton actionListener="#{myManagedBean.setOperation}"
    text="Aprovar"
    disabled="#{myManagedBean.isErrorOccurred}"
    action="#{myManagedBean.invokeMyCustomizedOperation}"
    partialSubmit="false"
    visible="#{wf:isCustomActionAvailable('APROVAR', 'bindings.customActions')}"
    id="ctb2">
    <f:attribute name="DC_OPERATION_BINDING" value="bindings.APROVAR"/>
    </af:commandToolbarButton>
    public void setOperation(ActionEvent p1){
    this.acaoSelecionada = (String) p1.getComponent().getAttributes().get("DC_OPERATION_BINDING");
    this.operation = UtilWorkflow.getInstance().getOperationFromHumanTask(this.acaoSelecionada);
    this.operation.execute();
    InvokeActionBean ia = (InvokeActionBean)ADFContext.getCurrent().getRequestScope().get("invokeActionBean");
    ia.setFinalizerJavaScriptName("closeBrowser()");
    ia.invokeScript();
    3) The great problem for me now is the region 1 (Region By Menu 1), this the part of Oracle Worklist Application and i cannot hide this Menu or change anything inside it. If the user click at the 'APROVAR' action, my custom validations will be ignored and the Workflow will approve my task, without intervention of my validations.
    After explaining everything this, here are my questions:
    1) Is this the correct way to work with the Oracle Soa Suite ?
    2) How can i hide the Region 1 (Action By Menu 1) ? Is possible ?
    Thanks,
    Victor Jabur

    Hi,
    I am also in need of hiding or having custom validations for the actions in Region 1. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!
    Thanks,
    Farhana

  • Custom action in Visual Composer

    Hello!
    I have faced with one problem. I have executed the integration of BW reports and VC. I used "drop-down list" option for some characteristic in Input Form. I followed the guide: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/07134c67-0b01-0010-0493-b89287cf330f
    The problem is following: For example, I choose one of value of characteristic in the full list of values and press Submit button. I will see the data and, for example, I want to change the value of characteristic and choose another value. But I will see in drop-down list only 1 value – the previous one. When I reload page – press “refresh” button in Internet Explorer – I see the full list of values in drop-down list of characteristic.
    Maybe it is possible to create “Reset” button? Which command I should write in custom action?
    Regards, Iryna

    Hi Suman,
    If the RFC does not require any input parameter, there is no problem in this. Drag a start point from RFC and deploy your application. Can you able to get the result in drop down?
    To get a list in a drop down from a RFC you can use 'Entry List' option in the properties of drop down.Check the below link for help to create a dyanamic entry list.

  • Manage UWL action buttons

    Hi experts,
    I've customized the buttons that are displayed in the UWL. In the beginning i had only "Create task" button but after that i added "Manage substitution rules" and "Refresh" as buttons by changing uwl.standart.xml. The buttons are added successfully but now the refresh is shown not only as a button but as a link in the right side with the other two links "Show filters" "Hide preview". Is there any way to remain the button but remove the link of the refresh. I have to say that the other option "Manage substitution rules" is added only as a button but not as a link - this is exactly what i am expecting as a final result for the refresh. Here is the xml for refresh action:
        <Action name="refresh" groupAction="yes" handler="UIActionHandler" referenceBundle="refresh" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="SHOW_HEADERLESS_PORTAL">
          <Properties>

    <Property name="display_order_priority" value="uwlExcludeFromPreviewDetail"/>
          </Properties>
        </Action>
    For comparison here is the Substitution manager action in the xml:
        <Action name="launchSubstitutionManager" groupAction="yes" handler="SAPWebDynproLauncher" referenceBundle="SubstitutionManager" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes" launchNewWindowName="Substitution" launchNewWindowFeatures="width=800,height=600,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no">

            <Property name="display_order_priority" value="uwlExcludeFromPreviewDetail"/>
          </Properties>

    Hi Teodor,
    To remove the "Refresh" link from UWL find the effective UWL iView in Portal Content Administration, open its properties and see the property with name "List of UWL Actions to exclude". Once you find it put as a value the word "refresh" withouth the quotes. Use the "Preview" button to see the effect.

  • Add ecb custom action to the callout (item menu)

    Is it possible to change the order of buttons in the callouts (see image below)? I would like to insert "Download a copy" after the "Open" hyperlink. Anyone has got any ideas?

    Check if below can help:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23386514/sharepoint-ecb-custom-action-does-not-show-up-for-the-document-libraries-deploye
    n order for custom action to appear in your custom list definition you need to change
    RegistrationId property to the value of Type property of your list definition. In your case it should be
    RegistrationId=10000
    If you want to attach your custom action to all document libraries you can try to attach it to Document content type:
    SPUserCustomAction action1 = web.UserCustomActions.Add();
    action1.RegistrationType = SPUserCustomActionRegistrationType.ContentType;
    action1.ImageUrl = "~sitecollection/myresources/Images/Logo16x16.png";
    action1.RegistrationId = "0x0101";
    action1.Location = "EditControlBlock";
    action1.Sequence = 500;
    action1.Title = "Redirect to my page";
    action1.Url = "javascript:__doPostBack('RedirectPostBack','{ItemId}|{ListId}');";
    action1.Update();

  • Adding custom action to Tabbed User Form

    I am trying to view and delete user tasks (such as deferred task) from a user view (tabbed user form). I am able to list the tasks in a separate tab, however, I would like to be able to delete the task using a manual action. I added a button, however, the clicking on the button refreshes the page, and does not get into the Update User workflow.
    Wanted to check with the forum members if anyone has added any custom action via the TabbedUserForm where the button (or something) will submit the form for change of user view to the Update User workflow.
    Or, if someone has a simpler way - manual action to cancel/delete a deferred task for a user.
    Thanks in advance for any insight.

    It seems I was initially too focused on the VCS API itself, as I was under the impression that the context menu would be exposed through a manager (similar to the Editor API). But it turns out that the view API provides very nice access to the relevant bits and I was able to achieve the desired result by simple listening to view activation and access the context menu from there. It's not ideal as I have to deal with view ids directly, but it works - good enough.
