URGENT - Data loss and query re-execution

Is there a way to re-execute a VO and not lose data still not persisted to DB?
Or can I select and store rows not yet committed and, later, put it back on a VO instance, in a simple way?
This is needed to develop a wizard-type application, that persists data only at the end. The user must do a random number of searches and inserts on several tables, so I cannot see a way to insert row, requery data when needed and still mantain control. This is so easy with Hibernate, can't it be done with OAF?
Commit data before last step of operation is out of question.
Thanks for attention,
Elner Ribeiro.

Thanks so much for the response.
My VO is an EO basedVO, indeed. I don't need to mantain a specific current point in VO, but when I re-query it (VO) I'm losing all data not saved.
Is there anything wrong with my approach?
Thanks for your attention.

The method with problem (called from a link in a table, one link for line [solicitant]):
public void initTelaOutrasInfo(MtsRtOtherInformationsAllVOImpl oivo, MtsRtSolicitantsAllVOImpl svo, MtsRtCardMilesAllVOImpl cvo, MtsRtVaccinesAllVOImpl vvo, OADBTransaction txn, String rowReference) {
          MtsRtSolicitantsAllVORowImpl sRow = (MtsRtSolicitantsAllVORowImpl) findRowByRef(rowReference);
if (sRow == null) {
throw new OAException("Error [Method: initTelaOutrasInfo]");
svo.setCurrentRow(sRow);
     oivo.initQuery(sRow.getDocumentNumber());
MtsRtOtherInformationsAllVORowImpl oRow = (MtsRtOtherInformationsAllVORowImpl) oivo.first();
if (oRow == null) {
//Not found on DB, creates a new one
oivo.setMaxFetchSize(0);
oivo.executeQuery();
oRow = (MtsRtOtherInformationsAllVORowImpl) oivo.createRow();
oivo.insertRow(oRow);
oRow.setDocumentNumber(sRow.getDocumentNumber());
oRow.setOrgId(sRow.getOrgId());
oRow.setOtherInfoId(sRow.getRequisitionId());
oracle.jbo.domain.Number seq = txn.getSequenceValue("MTS_RT_OTHER_INFORMAT_ALL_S");
oRow.setOtherInfoId(seq);
oRow.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
oivo.setCurrentRow(oRow);
cvo.initQuery(oRow.getOtherInfoId());
vvo.initQuery(oRow.getOtherInfoId());
createNovoCartao(oivo, cvo); //Creates a new MtsRtCardMilesAllVORowImpl
createNovaVacina(oivo, vvo); //Creates a new MtsRtVaccinesAllVORowImpl
} else {

cvo.setMaxFetchSize(200);
vvo.setMaxFetchSize(200);

  • Weird happenings on data loss and backup

    Re Q10
    At work my blackberry files somehow were synced to my computer even though I never intended them to be.  I deleted my blackberry files off my computer.  A few hours later I was missing a lot of pictures and music files.  Some pictures and music were each on the device and my CD card.
    No problem - on my home computer I just made a full backup.  I did a restore and I am missing the same pictures and music files.  Does the backup program backup the SD card also?  How did my files get deleted off my blackberry in the first place.  I guess some wireless sync?  Its possible the files I lost were on the SD card which was never backed up?  Is there any way to get the mssing data back?

    Hi KayZerSoze,
    "There are disk operations in Hyper-V (powershell or GUI) to create a new "fresh" VHD, to replace the "suspect" VHD?"
    I'm afraid there is no such a way .
    You may try to use hyper-v manager to create a new VHD file then attach it to that VM :
    If the issue persists , I would suggest to contact ArcServe for further assistance .

  • No sleep mode at low battery - data loss and time reset

    I'm having this issue for about a year now:
    When I run my macbook pros Battery down, there comes the low battery warning. After a while the system just goes down without suspending anything to my harddisk. When I restart my computer it does a normal start and after logging in I'm experiencing a lot messages due to the reset time. I correct my system-time and restart my mac and the system is back to normal.
    Usually I'd say: Replace your CMOS-Battery (I know I have an EFI-Firmware), but where is it?. Or in other words: Is there a "System"-Battery, that would prevent my mac from forgetting the time?
    Since I'm not running down my battery to 0 very often I only experience this issue from time to time and never took time to do anything about it.
    I would also appreciate a workaround so that my mac immediately starts shutting down, after the low battery warning. That would be great.
    iStats battery-Status says: Health:83%, Cycles:333, charge 50%...

    Well, the problem, seem's to have reoccured: Battery ran out (even the indicator leds on the side didn't show any life), Time reset  to 1.1.2001, again some rebooting and setting the time again...
    Is this a sign of a degrading battery health status?
    It looks like reseting the SMC didn't help after all.

  • Unexplained data loss

    Unexplained data loss even when computer is turned off. No hackers. No extra wifi units. Just account drains usage in one hour.Running daily Virus Scan. No other person in house can access.Woke up at 3 am had 830 mb a hour later had zero mb

    Kirradog01   I too have experienced a high unexplained data loss, and have had no joy in finding a solution. Can you tell me how you managed to solve your problem???  You might like to catch up with my past query on this forum, I've torn my hair out trying to figure out why this is happening, & short of having to call an "overseas" call centre, I'm at a loss. I guess I could try the Ombudsman, but then that would mean presenting facts & figures..........which I have, but I'm sure it will be a hassle................ Maybe you can provide an answer for me?? Thanks, MegsMum

    If I am developing my application using Kodo for data access layer, when
    my application crashes just because and needs to restart, what happen to
    all the persistence data that have not committed to database??If an app crashes, all current transactions will be aborted. There is a
    difference between data loss and aborting the current transaction. Data
    loss implies losing some persistent data -- data that resides in the
    database. That won't happen with Kodo.
    You will, however, lose any changes that have not been committed to the
    database yet. This is a good thing. You absolutely DO NOT want an
    unfinished transaction to be recorded, because that could violate the
    integrity of your data. Consider a transaction that decrements from one
    bank account and increments another to implement a funds transfer. You
    certainly wouldn't want to record the decrement unless you are absolutely
    sure the increment would be recorded too!

  • Bearing Data Loss

    Hello Experts,
    I have taken backup full on 21 JULY 2011 9:00 am and I have taken archivelog all backup 21 JULY 5:00 pm and then in the next morning I took another full backup on 22 JULY 2011 9:00 am,now i have confusion about the archivelog all backup is it still required after full backup taken on 22 JUL 2011 9:00 am
    we can bear data loss and I want to restore the database till last full backup of 22 JULY 2011 09:00 am or assume I have lost my archive backup and archive files too,can we restore database without archivelog backup and files ?
    Thanks in advanced

    If My database has created more than 1000 archivelog files since 6 month before to till date,so I have required all archive files till today with Full backup ?
    Ans: No, you need all the archive logs after your last full backup taken.
    DB Created: 1st Jan, 2011
    Last Full RMAN backup: 20th July, 10:00 AM
    Then to recover the database without any data loss you need full backup of 20th July 10:00AM + all archive logs after the full backup.
    ## Time based recovery
    startup mount;
    restore database until time "TO_DATE('29/10/10 19:00:00','MM/DD/YY HH24:MI:SS')";
    recover database until time "TO_DATE('29/10/10 19:00:00','MM/DD/YY HH24:MI:SS')";
    alter database open resetlogs;
    ## SCN based recovery
    startup mount;
    restore database until scn 10000;
    recover database until scn 10000;
    alter database open resetlogs;
    ## log sequence based recovery
    startup mount;
    restore database until sequence 100 thread 1;

  • I need a reliable (auto reconnect, no data loss, etc) TCP/CP Socket class

    I have been searching for a third party (free or pay) socket class that will do things that all of us programmers must do:
    reconnect when socket is disconnected
    reconnect and re-send data (so no data loss)
    and implementing all of these other features that we all require for "reliable" network communications over public networks.
    I would like to use this socket class on both my client and server applications. Does one exist somewhere? It certainly must. I want something that is tried and proven. free is great with open source but paying money is okay too. thanks !

    I am surprised at these responses. Using JMS or creating my own ARQ seems to not meet my requirement (lots of overhead in the case of JMS you usually need a middle "server" and the overhead is huge in high bandwidth situations -- lots of cpu and extra bandwidth -- and the ARQ is a nice idea but i really dont want to create anything myself)
    The fact is TCP/IP is unreliable over the internet. anyone who tries to use sockets over the internet recognizes this. It is not an issue of my application but the fact of the internet. the internet is designed with the assumption that the internet is unreliable (hence why the government created ARPA and the internet)
    so what if i loosened the requirement and said it was okay to lose some packets, but i just need something that knows the other side is alive and will reconnect/discnonect appropriately? doesnt this exist already? i mean every tcp/ip programmer is doing this and anyone who implements tcp/ip with the assumption that the "network is reliable" is going to be in big trouble. It doesnt need to be TCP, it can be a reliable UDP (i dont care what transport is used) but i just need something where i can take my existing code, drop in this new class instead of "Socket" and get my project done. it would be nice if it had features like reconnecting, dropping data if it is too old or if there are too many messages. i will be using it in high bandwidth applications (20-50mbps over the internet) and dont need 100% packet reliability, if we drop some packets due to a hiccup that is ok, but i do need it to be intelligent in reconnecting and such.

  • Dynamically built query on execution How to save the data in Object Type

    Hi,
    In pl/sql I am building and executing a query dynamically. How can I stored the output of the query in object type. I have defined the following object type and need to store the
    output of the query in it. Here is the Object Type I have
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE DEMO.FIRST_RECORDTYPE AS OBJECT(
    pkid NUMBER,
    pkname VARCHAR2(100);
    pkcity VARCHAR2(100);
    pkcounty VARCHAR2(100)
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE DEMO.FIRST_RECORDTYPETAB AS TABLE OF FIRST_RECORDTYPE;Here is the query generated at runtime and is inside a LOOP
    --I initialize my Object Type*
    data := new FIRST_RECORDTYPETAB();
    FOR some_cursor IN c_get_ids (username)
    LOOP
    x_context_count := x_context_count + 1;
    -- here I build the query dynamically and the same query generated is
    sql_query := 'SELECT pkid as pid ,pkname as pname,pkcity as pcity, pkcounty as pcounty FROM cities WHERE passed = <this value changes on every iteration of the cursor>'
    -- and now I need to execute the above query but need to store the output
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_query
    INTO *<I need to save the out put in the Type I defined>*

    How can I save the output of the dynamically built query in the Object Type. As I am looping so the type can have several records.

    Hi!
    I'm running Oracle 7.3.4 On HP-UX. I have problem when I try to export full my DB.
    I make a php program(a kind of ticket management program) and it use WEBDB's data in Oracle.
    Now, I export my WEBDB's data through userid="WEBDB" and the result of log is
    Connected to: Oracle7 Server Release 7.3.4.3.0 - Production
    With the distributed and parallel query options
    PL/SQL Release 2.3.4.3.0 - Production

    . . exporting table IMSI

    ORA-08103: object no longer exists
    . . exporting table TEMP 334 rows exported
    I export full my DB through user="SYSTEM" and the result of log is
    . about to export WEBDB's tables via Conventional Path ...
    . . exporting table IMSI

    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-08103: object no longer exists
    . . exporting table TEMP 331 rows exported
    The num of TEMP's row is 334 rows. I created "IMSI" table 2~3 days ago.
    What a terrible row & table loss!
    Please, what do I do? I need to do export full and no data loss...

    If its anything like exporting in Rel 2, you will have to export using SYS, not another user.
    Hope that helps ;)

  • [DATA LOSS] I closed the Tab Groups and all my tabs dissapeared. How can I recover the tabs in Firefox 26? Would you please just delete this feature?

    Thank-you in advance for reading all of this.
    A slip of the mouse in trying to return to the left-most tab caused the tab groups feature to take over the window. I completely failed to comprehend what I was looking at and closed the thing by clicking the x because I damn sure didn't want what I was looking at. Undo close group? Of course not, I didn't want a group in the first place. Hey! My tabs are completely gone now! So in just a few steps all of which seemed innocent, I have lost all but ten of the tabs that were open, and those were only the most recent ten (and actually older tabs would have been more valueable than newer so insult on top of injury).
    I don't think increasing the number of undoable tab closures is the answer. I think getting rid of the tab groups feature all together is the best way to go. I seem to have lost all the tabs I had open, irretrievably, and some of them had been open for WEEKS so they can't be reopened from history.
    The tab groups feature is a data loss bug. Please remove it from the UX completely. If you have to figure out a way to grandfather people who actually have a tab group, fine but don't further vex me with it, please.
    The reason this catastrophe has occurred is that your feature, was so discoverable that I activated it by mistake, and the UI after that had to be learned on the spot, yet was too complicated to learn. You really should withdraw it until you can figure out how to keep the UI for it from causing data loss such as I have experienced this morning.
    Also, there may be other questions on this feature which are from a certain point of view the same as this one. It's hard for me to tell for sure. None of them had a true resolution so that's why I posted this one, also I'm seeking a specific fix, removal of the offending feature.
    Why remove the feature? Because if I allow in my discussion the possibility of retaining it, it will stick around in its present and dangerous form until your team is done bikeshedding the new form it should take. Instead I want you to delete the feature and then require its champion to convince you that a new incarnation won't cause data loss before you allow it back in.
    Fellow users, if you know of a way to recover all 50 lost tabs from an "undo close tab group incident", I would be grateful for that advice, but I would still believe the feature should be deleted. Some of the tabs have been retained for months so digging them out of the history is not practical.

    I am not 100% certain but I am fairly sure development of this tab feature has ceased and it is likely to be deprecated. I am even less sure what the replacement will be.

    I have not tried this and am not even using Windows at present but the tabs groups are stored as entries in the sessionstore.js files. Firefox has such a file plus sometimes numbered copies and a backup copy. Firefox will have re-writen these files but I suppose there is a posibility the Windows OS may have kept copies.

    Find and backup any current sessionstore.js file. Consider also bookmark or otherwise recording anything you have open. Now find any previous versions and try putting them in Firefox's profile before restarting it.

    I want to read *.avi file from file system, and insert into
    database, and query from my forms.
    I create table with long raw, with default forms wizard,
    long raw for [image] item in forms.
    I change item type to ActiveX ,and right_click mouse
    ==>[Insert object]==>Oracle Veideo control.
    still can not insert avi data into database and query from my forms.
    Please give me some advice to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much!
