Urgent help : Meta Data lost

Hi,
We are using our dev server to deploy on different prod server. Recently our server is dead and no way to recover anything from disks because they are all damaged. Even worst, the backups are unreadable and all the Metadata were on dev server.
My question is : is there any way to regenerate OWB Metadata from Runtime environment ?

Hi,
there's no way to get the metadata back! :-( If you import the packages from the target database you get them as packages into the repository - not as mappings.
That's why you should backup the metadata - and try to import it again too. ;-)

hi,
you need to do the process in source system or BW.
if it is in source system, extract through program/function module that coolects all the data package and process there and push to BW once procee is over.
if it is to be done in BW- i hope in the start routine u can do only by package by package.
please give ur actual requirment so that others can give suggesstion.

Urgent Help with Date and then email in ASP

USING ASP AND ACCESS
I am implementing a classified section for my website and I
am displaying
everything successfully.
When the user posts the classified he selects how many days
he wants his
POST like 10 days, 20 days or 30 days and i can successfully
show the posts
So if the user posts on says 1st of July 2006 and selects 10
days for his
post to be showed on my website
THEN
8th July 2006 an email shud go to him saying if he wants to
keep his POST
for another 10 days, 20 days or 30 days with 3 links
and IF YES the 1st july 2006 date must be changed to
Date of Post + Number of days selected initially + Number of
days selected.
I am using two columsn in the DB for this date thing one is
the strPostDate
and strAddDate
So basically the number of days selected for the post to be
shown on the
website keeps adding up each time the user clicks on the link
for 10 days,
20 days or 30 days with 3 links
please help need it badly :-)

I have to disagree with my colleages above - this isn't that
hard at all. I have done it a number of times successfully. It does
depend on a "trick", but who cares as long as it works.
Basically, the "trick" says that your site will receive a
visit once in a while! It better, or why have the site!
In ASP, use the global.asa file. In the "Session start"
section of global.asa, which is fired off every time a new comer
arrives, you have an opportunity to:
1. check if it's ok to check who needs an email (in other
words, you don't want to be checking EVERY time someone comines on
board every last listing on your site. So what i would do is allow
it to do the full check once daily, say after midnight.
2. If its ok to check who needs an email, do so, and send the
emails out.
3. After sending out emails, fix it so you will not be
resending uptil teh next time window. You could also set "flags"
for any lister where you sent an email 1st round email has been
sent.
The above is one way.
Sometimes i do the very same thing, but i simply tie the
checking routine into the home page.
Both schemes work as long as you have a single visitor once
in a while. if you never had a visitor to teh site, not even one,
then the emails would never be sent. But as i said if you go days
without a visit, better start looking for a new vocation!

sign-up-to-stay informed email system, its been running for a year
just fine, all automatically, using the method of #1 (but for
asp.net, same difference!)

Help! Data lost on external hard drive.

Well, I will explain what I did first.
I have an external hard drive. It has 4 FAT32 partitions, the 1st and 3rd ones are empty, the 2nd and 4th ones has about 10G data on each. I wanted to make a minimum backup of the current Tiger system with Superduper! to partition (or volume) 1. So I moved all my photos, musics and documents out from the internal hard drive to the 4th partition on the external hard drive. Then, I deleted all the original files on the internal hard drive, and emptied the Trash, sign... And then, I tried to use Superduper! to make a backup of the only volume on the internal hard drive. I chose the method of "volume to volume". I forgot I have another option to just make a backup image of this volume. I guess if I did that, it would save me all the trouble that I have right now. Anyway, after I hit "copy now", Superduper! tells me that I have to use a volume that has a format of Mac OS Extended in order to do that. So I used the disk utility to convert the 1st FAT32 partition to Mac OS extended format as suggested by Superduper!. I think the disk utility told me that this operation would deleted everything on that volume, however, it won't affect the other 3 volumes. Since it is empty, I proceeded. However, it ended up with an error. I forget what it said now. The result is that all the four volumes are not accessible to either mac or windows OS. I successfully retrieved all the files on partition 2 of that external hard drive to another disk with EasyRecovery Pro. They all seem good. I tried the same thing on partition 4. I do get all the files that are moved there long time ago using windows. However, only a few files that are just moved to it from the internal hard drive using Mac OS Tiger right before the disaster were retrieved with success. All the others including my iPhoto and iTune Library are nowhere to be found now.
I tried Data Rescue II (for mac) on my internal hard drive hoping that it might find the files that I deleted, however, I think running the Tiger OS itself may have changed the information on the disk already, so it doesn't really give me the files I wanted. Maybe it did find most of them, but they are not grouped in a folder like what they were before. Anyway, I think I have a better change with the external hard drive since it is not even accessible without a software that is dedicated to recover files.
Right now, I am out of ideas. Please tell me what I can do to get those missing files back. Any suggestion is welcome. Thank you!

Urgent help on date query

The error message appears to indicate your columns are numeric so the query is obviously:
select userid,month,year from counter
where month = 4
and year = 2003
... or am I missing some hidden problem here ?

Applying meta data

When applying meta data using Bridge, is the meta data imbeded in the destination file?
If the file is viewed outside bridge is the meta data lost?

In a raw image all metadata is put on an xmp file. In other formats they are mostly considered written to file. DNG writes to image.
Not all programs read metadata, or read them partially.

You can't trace your iPhone by IMEI number.
If you had "Find My iPhone" enabled then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it. If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPhone" has not been disabled on it.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

Urgent help........lost every thing on my powerbook...............

i need some urgent help.
I just switched on my powerbook g4 couple of hours back, and to my shock, everything on my powefbook is LOST.
If i open mail, it starts with the same informaton, that wecome to mal, set up ur a/c ,
same with address book evrything gone, same welcome window
same with itunes, welcome screen
I am totally shocked.
I literally donnt know what happened.
The powerbook was on my table, i didnt even moved it since last night , when everything was ok, but now everything gone....
the softwares were all auto updated couple of days back and the software running is 10.4.7 tiger.
interestingly when i checked the updater, it says no new updates are available,
also, when i checked the HDD space, it was 93 gb total, and 18 gb free which was possibly the hdd space left with me before this possible crash.
I donnt know whats happening here,please ghelp me out of this.
I just want to go back to the stage where i was yesterday night
can anybody help me on this

Hi,
firstly, i must thank you for reminding me to backup my data as i had never done that except for the photographs i click( take back up on external drive) as me being a photographer.
now the issur.....
i went to macintosh hd > Library > and in that there is a folder , " ashishbahl" which being the name of my powerbook admin .
now the size of that folder is showing as 59.9 Gb.
in that "ashishbahl" folder i am seeing a desktop folder which has all the files which were there on my desktop before this ctrash.
now i am just not able to figure out how all this happened and now that i have located this folder , how to restore my system.

I have over 2,000 images. I don't want to go back through each image and add meta data.
Is there some way to move everything?

No, do not re-import your images. I assume you can see the thumbnails in the library module, just cannot access the full images, right? If this is the case there should be an exclamation mark in the top right corner of every one of your pictures and you only have to tell LR where the images are now.
Click the exclamation mark of one of the images and a dialog window should pop-up, telling you that LR cannot find the file, but with an option to locate it. Press "Locate" and navigate to the folder on your new HD where the file is. If in the new external HD you kept the same folder structure that you had on the internal disk, LR will be able to find all your images and re-link them to the database without further intervention.

I'm expecting a slash (/) between forms60 and java. Have a look in the formsweb.cfg if any paths are misconfigured.
Also, try if the URL with the slash:

does work when you just paste it in a browser. It should download the Registry.dat file

Urgent HELP required on forming the Matrix of data using PL/SQL

Hi All,
I'm new to this thread and require your urgent help in this regard.
I've got a requirement for building a 5000 X 5000 matrix using PL/SQL. My original data tables have 5000 rows each and I need to do a correlation analysis using this data and need to store in a physical table and not in-memory. Is this feat achievable using mere PL/SQL? I understand that Oracle DB has a limitation of 1000 columns(but not sure) and hence I'd like to know whether there is any work-around for such scenarios. If not, what are the other alternative method(s) to achieve this feat? Do I need to use any 3rd party tools to get this done? An early reply from the experts is highly appreciated.

I'll get to your quesiton in a moment, but first some welcome information. Many OTN posters consider it impolite to mark threads as "urgent". We are volunteers and have jobs of our own to do without people we don't know making demands. You are brand new and deserve some patience but please understand this. It is very likely before I finish this post someone will complain about the word "urgent" in your subject.
On to more interesting things :)
You can do the matrix, but are out of luck with a 5000 x 5000 table because Oracle only allows 1000 columns per table. There are ways to work around this.
How do do the matrix depends on what you want to do. You can do this different ways. You can create a table beforehand and use PL/SQL or simple SQL to populate it, or use the CREATE TABLE AS syntax to create and populate it in one step if you can get the underlying SQL to work the way you want, something like
create table my_table as
select a.*, b.*
from table1 a, table2 bcan populate a matrix from 2 tables with an intentional cartesian join (the WHERE clause was left out intentionally, provided your data is already in the data base.
If not you can use a PL/SQL routine to populate the data.
There are a couple of ways to solve the 1000 column limit. The easiest way might be to have 5 collections of 1000 columns each. A more complicated but more elegant soltion would be to have nested collections, allowing 2 colliections that you can loop through - a collection of collections. Nested collections can be hard to work with. A third way would be to use nested tables in the database but I personally do not like them and the insert, update, and delete statements for nested tables are hard to use.
I'm not going to give a code example because I am not sure which solution is best for you. If you have further questions post them.

Used Relocate Masters to new g-drive. Lost Aperature Library and meta data

how i crashed aperature
1.56 aperature
all updates current
tiger 10.4.11
all updates current
Goal was to move Aperature Library from MBP to g-drive.
what i did:
1. "Relocate Master" to g-drive. Success. Aperature still viewed all Files with all Meta Data normally.
2. Collapsed "Library" in Projects Panel. Did not delete Projects. Did not delete any Photos.
3. Preferences > Image Management > set new Aperature Library on g-drive.
4. Uploaded new photos from a Canon and viewed them successfully.
5. Ejected g-drive correctly.
what Aperature is not doing now:
1. no Projects show up.
2. no Referenced Photos show up.
3. no Vaults show up. Note: the Vault was originally on MBP, but I foolishly did not set one up on g-drive before moving. I also have a back up Vault on a different g-drive that is, unfortunately, not up to date with all current photos before move.
4. Aperature Library on g-drive is there but can not open any files in it. [note: item 3 above]
5. Image files listed in g-drive but won't open in Aperature but do open in Preview or Gimp, etc.
6. Aperature does not show any Vaults nor does it access Referenced Files.
*Can you help ?*
*I guess these would be the questions:*
1. How can I get the pics from the g-drive back into an Aperature Library with all the previous Meta Data attached to each Version?
2. How do I get the Aperature Library - I put on the g-drive - to open in Aperature?
3. If #1 is impossible - I guess I set up a Vault on the g-drive and move what I have from the back up Vault mentioned above.

If I an not mistaken, I may have read through your pdf's quite a while ago. I am still trying to digest them and then apply them to my needs. If I had known that small projects may be faster and easier to manage than larger ones I would have done my imports quite differently. I chose to use Aperture in the first place to organize and add information to photos. I archive old photos. In particularly from 350th Fighter Group, WWII in the Mediterranean. So one "Project" of mine is =/-5000 images in the form of TIFF scans. I imported all of these into 1 project. Then I started applying metadata and keywwords like crazy. This allowed me to start to sort the photos into categories and find multiple version of the same image. I started making stacks of all the multiples. Then with smart albums and smart web sites I was able to create what might now be smaller projects. Since I gather information from others by sharing these photos on a website, You are able to see the smart websites here.

One cool thing is that various images reside in multiple smart webs based on common keyword. But now that I have all this organization, it seems it is time to put all my originals in a similar order via Aperture.
By the way, my files are reference files unless I make the mistake of importing them without leaving them in there original location.
I am thinking of starting over with blue folders. But I can't seem to get my head around it.

I created materialized view by "FAST REFRESH":
MASTER:

-> I had many transactions insert/update/delete on MASTER.
Please help me any idea to protect data and fast replicate data.....=>

I need to know anybody use materialized view log and found the problem like me.

I'm sure new script to resolve duplicate, But not sure about data lose.
