  • Urgent help needed... PL/SQL Insert statement

    Hi...
    I need some urgent help on this project. I have a 2 column table with values that need to be inserted into another existing table which has a sequence.
    This is the 2 column table:
    FUND YEAR
    29587 05
    29587 07
    Existing table:
    Name Null? Type
    LIST_ID NOT NULL NUMBER(6) -- This is a sequence
    WEB_USER_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(10)
    RESOURCE_TYPE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(8)
    LIST_TYPE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(10)
    LIST_NAME NOT NULL VARCHAR2(50)
    LIST_CODE_1 NOT NULL VARCHAR2(6) -- FUND from table above
    LIST_CODE_2 NOT NULL VARCHAR2(6) -- YEAR from table above
    LIST_CODE_3 NOT NULL VARCHAR2(6)
    LAST_UPDATED_DT NOT NULL DATE
    LAST_UPDATED_BY NOT NULL VARCHAR2(10)
    LIST_CODE_4 NOT NULL VARCHAR2(20)
    The columns from table 1 (FUND, YEAR) correspond to columns (LIST_CODE_1, LIST_CODE_2) in table 2. The column LIST_ID is a sequence. I can put in sysdate for LAST_UPDATED_DT and my initials SN for LAST_UPDATED_BY. This is going to be for 2 unique WEB_USER_IDs which would be in the WHERE clause. I will be inserting 2200 rows for each id. A single insert statement would look like this -
    INSERT INTO EXISTING_TBL (list_id,web_user_id,resource_type,list_type,list_name,list_code_1,list_code_2,list_code_3,list_code_4,last_updated_dt,last_updated_by) VALUES ('470027','WEBUSER','GL','FUNDFYF',' FUND BALANCE SUM','12010','01',' ',' ',{ts '2010-5-19 10:16:9'},'SN')
    How would I do this to insert the 2200 values from my 2 column table to the existing table?
    All help is greatly appreciated!!

  • Need help with the session state value items.

    I need help with the session state value items.
    Trigger is created (on After delete, insert action) on table A.
    When insert in table B at least one row, then trigger update value to 'Y'
    in table A.
    When delete all rows from a table B,, then trigger update value to 'N'
    in table A.
    In detail report changes are visible, but the trigger replacement value is not set in session value.
    How can I implement this?

    You'll have to create a process which runs after your database update process that does a query and loads the result into your page item.
    For example
    SELECT YN_COLUMN
    FROM My_TABLE
    INTO My_Page_Item
    WHERE Key_value = My_Page_Item_Holding_Key_ValueThe DML process will only return key values after updating, such as an ID primary key updated by a sequence in a trigger.
    If the value is showing in a report, make sure the report refreshes on reload of the page.

  • [urgent] How to enable session state without modifying web.config ?

    HI ,
    We have customized a new master page to our site. We have a requirement to use session (HTTContext.current.session) , to save data , then we have an error session is null , so we excuted the
    Enable-SPSessionStateService-DefaultProvision
    We have no access to the web.config ! so we cant change the ligne from <pages enablesessionstate="false"  to <pages enablesessionstate="true" , so we wanted to add enablesessionstate="true" in the page wich caused
    the probleme and we had a new error "enablesessionstate is not allowed in this page".
    How can we resolve this problem without modifying the Web.config ?? a have benn blocked since 2 days ! Any help will be great. Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Bouhmind,
    Thanks for posting this issue, you can enable session by setting enablesessionstat="true" in page directive as you try. Also, you need to do some configuration in your IIS. Kindly browse the below mentioned  URL to do that configuration in
    IIS.
    http://ammarfassy.wordpress.com/2012/04/06/session-state-can-only-be-used-when-enablesessionstate-is-set-to-true/
    I hope this is helpful to you. If this works, Please mark it as Answered.

  • Need help with session state/item refresh

    I have an application that allows users to record productivity information for our employees. There are different types of work they have to do, so the form is in header/multiple-detail form and uses collections to handle all processing. In the header portion are the fields that record the time of work. Though this is stored in the database as a single field for start of shift and single field for end of shift, in the entry it is split up into 9 fields: 3 for day, month, and year, and three more each for start hours, start minutes, AM/PM, end hours, end minutes, and AM/PM, which I then concatenate to get the dates to store. The update part works fine. When I go in to display each of these, I have to use an SQL query to retrieve only that section of the time.
    The problem I am having is that if the user pulls up several timecards to edit them, it retains these time values from the previous timecard, and due to the way the collections refresh, I can't seem to get either item session state parameter (Only when Null/Always from Source) to achieve the desired result. If I use the Only When Null option, I retain the values from the previous timecard. If I use the Always from Source, the user can't update any of the time-related input.
    Can anyone suggest a solution? I've tried a session state process that fires on entry to clear those items and ran into the same problem as using the Always From Source option. There has got to be a way to handle this, but it's got me stumped and my users are clamoring for a fix.
    Page initial load
    A. Before Header process populates job collection and other collection (not header info), which comes straight from DB table.
    B. Data displays for Header (from table) and two detail sections (from collections)
    User presses Submit to save changes
    1. On Submit Before Processing: updates job and other collections (to preserve changes in case validation fails)
    2. Validations check to make sure job codes are valid, date is valid, employee is valid, etc.
    3. On Submit After Processing: Writes changes to header from input form, writes changes to job and other from collections to appropriate DB tables
    I also have two On Submit After Processing processes to add blank lines - one for each collection. These are triggered via buttons.

    Blair:
    Does creating a 'before header' process to populate these fields make a difference ? The sql could be something like
    select TO_CHAR(TC_START_TIME,'HH') into :P1115_TIME_IN_HH from TC where TC_ID = :P1115_TC_ID;You should set the 'Source Used' back to 'Only when current value in session is null' and the 'Source Type' to 'Static Assignment(....)' and clear out the 'Source value or expression' field.

  • Session State Protection - Arguments must have Checksum - Help Required

    Hi everyone,
    I am using apex 4.0 and have set:
    Session State Protection = True
    Page Access Protection = Arguments must have checksum
    Application Item Protection = Cecksum required - Session Level
    Page Data Entry Item Protection = Cecksum required - Session Level
    Page Display-Only Item Protection = Cecksum required - Session Level
    On pages which contain a Interactive report the calls to other pages to update and or delete a record passing the PK of the record work OK.
    I have set these as follows:
    In the Interactive report LInk Colomn --> Link Attribute = onclick="new top.Ext.apex.PopupWindow( { url: this.href, title: 'Edit Classification Details', width: 530, height: 500, listeners: {'success': gReport.search} } ).show(); return false;"
    Target = Page in this Application
    Page = 302Item = P302_IDCLASS
    Value = #IDCLASS#
    Page Checksum = - User Default -
    The problem is on the "Create new record" button which is located on the Interactive report page. I have defined the button as:
    Button Attributes = onclick="new top.Ext.apex.PopupWindow({ url:'f?p=&APP_ID.:302:&APP_SESSION.::NO:302::::', title: 'Create New Classification', width: 530, height: 500, listeners: {'success': gReport.search} }).show(); return false;"
    Action when button click = Redirect to Page in this Application
    Page = 302
    Clear Cache = 302
    When I click the button I get the following message:
    Session state protection violation: This may be caused by manual alteration of a URL containing a checksum or by using a link with an incorrect or missing checksum. If you are unsure what caused this error, please contact the application administrator for assistance.
    If I change the Button attributes to be:
    onclick="new top.Ext.apex.PopupWindow({ url:'f?p=&APP_ID.:302:&APP_SESSION.::NO:::::', title: 'Create New Classification', width: 530, height: 500, listeners: {'success': gReport.search} }).show(); return false;"
    It works OK, bu the page items are not clear.
    Could someone please explaing to me what am I doing wrong so I understand my mistake ?
    Thank you
    Daniel

    Here's an interesting situation. I have been having great results with the prepare_url function, until I needed to pass a column value from a report into a popup.
    Originally, in the Column Link --> URL in the Report Attributes I had this. This worked great when there was no session state protection enabled.
    javascript:popUp('f?p=&APP_ID.:17:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:17:P17_EVENT_LOG_ID:#EVENT_LOG_ID#','450','375');When I enabled session state protection and changed the URL link to this
    javascript:popUp('&VW_EVENT_LOG.','450','375');and then created an application item and computation in order to pass a checksum along
    APEX_UTIL.PREPARE_URL (
      p_url => 'f?p=&APP_ID.:17:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:17:P17_EVENT_LOG_ID:#EVENT_LOG_ID#',
      p_checksum_type => 3
    );the checksum seems to get passed fine, but the column value for the EVENT_LOG_ID is being concatenated to the end of the checksum instead of being passed as the value for P17_EVENT_LOG_ID. I also noticed that the clear cache page (17) looks like it is also being attached to the beginning of P17_.., but I'm not sure if that's to be expected or not.
    It took me a while to figure it out, but when I started looking at the error message closely, I could see that the checksum is identical except for the last two digits, which coincidentally are the same as the ID for this record.
    The checksum computed on the request, clear cache, argument names,
    and argument values (17P17_EVENT_LOG_ID [C6161B29B4C078F68DCF430133407754] ) did not match the checksum
    passed into the show procedure (C6161B29B4C078F68DCF43013340775490). Any thoughts on how to pass a column value with a checksum to a popup window?
    Thanks,

  • URGENT HELP ON BMP CMP!!!

    Hi everybody!!
    I've wrote few CMP EJB's before and now Im trying to write a BMP EJB.
    In the finder methods Ive to select data from two tables:
    "product_catalog" and "product" (relation One to many)
    The query that matches my needs is:
    SELECT DISTINCT a.product_code, b.product_description
    FROM product a, product_catalog b
    WHERE a.product_code = b.product_code
    AND (a.region_code = '00' OR a.region_code = 'variable argument')
    AND b.product_line <> '08'
    Note that in the FROM clause of the query data is retrieved from two tables and that the WHERE conditions involve both tables.
    A query like this can be implemented into a finder method of a BMP EJB?
    What about the descriptor? -Im using Websphere Application Server 4.0-
    How can I tell the container which fields will be persistent?
    Which fields should I've to specify as primary key fields? The ones from the parent table? What about the ones from the child table? What about the query in the ejbLod() and the ejbStore() methods that select and update data from the table(s)?
    I've looked at the J2EE tutorial examples but none of the examples uses a query like mine.
    As you can see I need URGENT help on this.
    All the help you can give will be greatfully welcome!!
    THANKS!!!
    Ezequiel Velazquez

    Greetings,
    Note that in the FROM clause of the query data is
    retrieved from two tables and that the WHERE
    conditions involve both tables.IOW: an "inner join"...
    A query like this can be implemented into a finder
    method of a BMP EJB?BMP differs from CMP in that as the bean coder: you are in control of the query and therefore can be as simple or as complex as required without required to the container's query language support. However, remember the implementation rules of finder methods:
    1. A finder method's purpose is simply to locate entities in the resource; and, therefore...
    2. A finder method returns an instance of the PrimaryKey class (or collection thereof).
    Also...
    a. The container calls a corresponding ejbFind method on an instance in the free pool; and, therefore...
    b. A finder method should not attempt to manipulate bean state.
    Therefore, as long as the data returned by your join query (a.product_code, b.product_description), compose a PrimaryKey class instance, you are fine.
    However, I will add that it should be remembered that an EBs purpose is to provide an OO representation of shareable, persistent, data ("entities") in an enterprise resource. They have a specific purpose and do not merely provide "data access" or act as "resource managers". From your example given, it seems your "entity" may be uniquely identified from 'a.product_code', a common primary(?) key in both tables and that the code is actually trying to act as a report writer. If your SELECTed data (a.product_code, b.product_description) do not together comprise a unique entity representation in your application then this is incorrect usage. In this case you should either generate the query from a Session Bean or create separate Entity Beans for each of your tables 'a' and 'b' and handle your 'joins' in business methods.
    What about the descriptor? -Im using Websphere
    Application Server 4.0-Your descriptor will identify the bean's <persistence-type> as "Bean". This is all it needs to know about the bean since the Bean is Manag[ing] it's own Persistence (BMP ;).
    How can I tell the container which fields will be
    persistent?Er, you don't. BMP beans manage their own persistence and, therefore, manage their own fields. Refer again to the above.
    Which fields should I've to specify as primary key
    fields? The ones from the parent table? What about
    the ones from the child table? What about the query
    in the ejbLod() and the ejbStore() methods that select
    and update data from the table(s)?These are all questions related to how your application requires an "OO representation of its resource data" to be mapped to the backend resource(s). Only "you" can really answer these questions. However, refer back to the above for some implicit pointers. :)
    I've looked at the J2EE tutorial examples but none of
    the examples uses a query like mine.The tutorial is intended for beginners to J2EE development and, therefore, provide only simplistic examples. For a more thorough examination, refer to the J2EE Blueprints.
    As you can see I need URGENT help on this.
    All the help you can give will be greatfully
    welcome!!I hope this helps.

  • Urgent HELP required on forming the Matrix of data using PL/SQL

    Hi All,
    I'm new to this thread and require your urgent help in this regard.
    I've got a requirement for building a 5000 X 5000 matrix using PL/SQL. My original data tables have 5000 rows each and I need to do a correlation analysis using this data and need to store in a physical table and not in-memory. Is this feat achievable using mere PL/SQL? I understand that Oracle DB has a limitation of 1000 columns(but not sure) and hence I'd like to know whether there is any work-around for such scenarios. If not, what are the other alternative method(s) to achieve this feat? Do I need to use any 3rd party tools to get this done? An early reply from the experts is highly appreciated.
    Thanking you all Gurus in advance.
    Rgds
    Sai

    Welcome to OTN!
    I'll get to your quesiton in a moment, but first some welcome information. Many OTN posters consider it impolite to mark threads as "urgent". We are volunteers and have jobs of our own to do without people we don't know making demands. You are brand new and deserve some patience but please understand this. It is very likely before I finish this post someone will complain about the word "urgent" in your subject.
    On to more interesting things :)
    You can do the matrix, but are out of luck with a 5000 x 5000 table because Oracle only allows 1000 columns per table. There are ways to work around this.
    How do do the matrix depends on what you want to do. You can do this different ways. You can create a table beforehand and use PL/SQL or simple SQL to populate it, or use the CREATE TABLE AS syntax to create and populate it in one step if you can get the underlying SQL to work the way you want, something like
    create table my_table as
      select a.*, b.*
        from table1 a, table2 bcan populate a matrix from 2 tables with an intentional cartesian join (the WHERE clause was left out intentionally, provided your data is already in the data base.
    If not you can use a PL/SQL routine to populate the data.
    There are a couple of ways to solve the 1000 column limit. The easiest way might be to have 5 collections of 1000 columns each. A more complicated but more elegant soltion would be to have nested collections, allowing 2 colliections that you can loop through - a collection of collections. Nested collections can be hard to work with. A third way would be to use nested tables in the database but I personally do not like them and the insert, update, and delete statements for nested tables are hard to use.
    I'm not going to give a code example because I am not sure which solution is best for you. If you have further questions post them.

    I need to write data in LOB object using DBMS_LOB object
    following code is written in PRE-UPDATE Trigger for the block CTX

    After querying the data I change Clob_Desc_f and enter the new data when saved it shoud empty the lob field based on the key value with empty lob
    and then write the data into lob

  • Application Items/Session State Values and Page Branching

    I have users coming into a specific page in my application, passing in a value on the url that sets the value of an application item, where a validation routine occurs. If their session validates, I want to send them to one page, if it does not, I want to send them to a login error page.
    During validation, I am setting the values of several application items so that these values can be saved and used throughout their session. The values appear to be setting correctly. I am concerned that setting the application items may not be limiting these values to a particular session. So, I have also tried setting the setting session state variables with code like:
    apex_util.set_session_state ('F203_REQ', vReqID);
    I found it curious though when I ran this page, not trying to branch so I could check session state, these values showed up as being application items and I saw nothing under session variables.
    The problem I am having is that once validated I don't know how to branch to these other pages. I have tried adding some javascript in the header to force a page submit so that I could use a branch setup on the page. However, when it comes time to evaluate the branches (it's using one of the application item values I set earlier), I'm getting an error that no branch has been provided. Further research suggests the application item values are being cleared on the page submit.
    So, (1) I either need to know how to preserve those values on submit so the page branch works or (2) I need to branch to the new page without using a page submit and instead doing that in a some code (assuming submit is clearing application item values). I have not been able to find an example of how to do this in code. If there is a way to do this in code, will the application item or session state variable values be retained? I will need these values to be available to the user throughout their session.
    Thanks for the help,
    Steve

    Steve,
    I am concerned that setting the application items may not be limiting these values to a particular session.They are set in the current session only.
    It is hard to know what you are doing exactly without seeing it. If you set up an example on apex.oracle.com we could could address one specific question at at time.

  • Session State Protection Confusion!

    Hello all,
    I'm looking into SSP, and find it very confusing; there are so many ways to implement it, and I'm just not sure which I should choose.
    I basically want to stop people tampering with the URL to change the values of variables and the like. I have currently enabled SSP for every page, which seems to work fine.
    However, you can also do it for each item and application item; is this also necessary, or are these options only there if I only wanted to enable SSP for a very specific thing (item) rather than an entire page?
    Does enabling SSP at page level protect the items (application and other) on that page in the same way enabling SSP for each of those items would do?
    Also, are there any implications from using SSP? Will some things not work if I enable it in some instances?
    Thanks for your help.
    Robin

    Robin,
    These are all good questions.
    What situations would arise when you'd want to use "No URL Access" for page access protection and "Restricted - May not be set from browser" for various item protections?
    Sometimes you have pages that you would never want a user to "get to" unless they had used the navigation controls that you built into the application. For example, the intermediate steps within a wizard. You may have seen examples of this in the Application Builder as you step through wizards (and in other places) where you'll be on a page and in the URL all you see is ..wwv_flow.accept, with no f?p URL that tells you what page ID was requested. This is an example of a Branch to Page branch in use. This type of branch does not do a redirect to an f?p URL but instead has the engine's "accept" procedure (from the last page submission) call the engine's "show" procedure directly using PL/SQL without introducing a new HTTP request. So if you have pages like that and you use Branch to Page branches as the "normal" way to get to them AND you want to prevent users from specifying those page IDs in URLS, then this feature of Session State Protection is available to support that.
    and how does the "Restricted - May not..." differ from the "Checksum Required - Session Level"; is that literally where a user can't alter the value of an item in the application, or is there more to it than that?
    Restricted ... prevents an item from being altered from outside the application. The only way you can set or change these items is by application logic. This feature can be used for items even if Session State Protection is not enabled for the application.
    Also, I can't understand just what user level and application level checksums would be useful for.
    Normally, when SSP checksums are generated, they are good for the current session. Say you have a URL like:
    f?p=100:55:ssssssss::NO::P1_ITEM,P2_ITEM:some-value-1,some-value2&cs=38DDFE1C102BDE167BCD66F4C2E77E16E
    A curious user might say, oh, I think I'll bookmark that link and run it again tomorrow to set the same page items to the same values. Well that doesn't work because the checksum is session ID specific. This also makes the hashing algorithm more secure.
    But sometimes you want to provide checksum-secured links that users can bookmark. Maybe you want to email a link to your application to a specific user and the link provides some key value that should be used by that specific user only (and you have authorization logic in the application to enforce that), like f?p...P10_USER_KEY:ABc568zz&cs=238DDFE1C102BDE167BCD66F4C2E77E16D. This is where the use of a User-Level checksum would be applicable. After the user clicks on the link and authenticates, the provided checksum can be verified against a new checksum computed on P10_USER_KEY:ABc568zz. These links can be used across sessions for this type of use but the checksum prevents alteration of the request arguments even by the intended user.
    The third type of checksum is the Application-Level (or Workspace-Level) checksum. Links with this type of checksum can be used by any user so long as the requested application is really the same application from the same workspace that generated the link. The checksum prevents alteration of the request arguments by the user.

    No problems if you run the app directly likes so :
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=29691:1
    when you login through apex.oracle.com
    WS : martijnke
    login guest
    passw : apex_demo
    then the error occurs
    it seems that from the buikder I can't run any page that does not have any parameters
    even if I make those pages unrestricted

  • Problems With Session State Protection

    I have enables SSP on one of my applications and everyting seemed ok until I reached a page with a custom pop up page.
    I use this code in my page header
    {} used to display code
    {<script language="JavaScript1.1" type="text/javascript">
    function callMyPopupRank (formItem1,formItem2) {
    var formVal1 = document.getElementById(formItem1).value;
    var formVal2 = document.getElementById(formItem2).value;
    var url;
    url = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:115:&APP_SESSION.::::P115_RANK,P115_RANK_ID:' + formVal1;
    w = open(url,"winLov","Scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=400,height=630");
    if (w.opener == null)
    w.opener = self;
    w.focus();
    </script>}
    Then I call it from post element text of an item
    {<img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#edit-white.gif" border="0" alt="Edit">}
    When my pop up page opens I get this error
    Attempt to save item P115_RANK in session state during show processing.
    Item protection level indicates "Item may be set when accompanied by a "session" checksum.".
    No checksum was passed in or the checksum passed in would be suitable for an
    item with protection level "(No checksum was provided)".
    How do I append the checksum to my url ?
    Thanks
    Gus

    You will need to use the APEX_UTIL.PREPARE_URL function to append the checksum to the URL. I would suggest you use a hidden page item to hold the URL and then reference it in your JS.
    I hope that helps
    Shunt
