Urgent: How to export a Director cast member - in this case it's a flash movie?

Hi there,
I've got a problem - of course, that's why I'm here.
My problem is that in my Director (version 11.5) movie a flash movie is member of the cast list (sorry, I only know the German terms and hope totranslate correctly!). In it's properties there's no source-URL. So it must be "in" the Director film somehow.
Unfortunately the original file went lost. Now I need to have this flash movie as a flash movie, not as a member/ cast. Is there any possibility to get the movie out of Director als a file?

thanks for that hint! I downloaded and extracted the Xtra into the Director Xtra folder. Then I tried to use the function "exportSWF", but it told me the handler is undefined.
Unfortunately I'm a real Lingo beginner and don't know anything about Xtra usage.
I used the following code:
m = member("Player")
exportSWF( m, "/output.swf", TRUE )
I'm sure that line 1 gives me the flash movie as a member, because it is used like that in the code already.
I thought with the Xtra I can simply use the exportSWF-funcion. What else is to do to use it??

How can I save a cast member to the hard drive?

Hi,
I am using 'canvas' from the Paintbox library.
I found a line of code on the forum to create a 'new' cast member.
Now, I'd like to save that new cast member to the hard drive.
BuddyApi doesn't have an option to do that, and I haven't had any luck with the Xtras lists I've found.
How can I accomplish this?

To elaborate, this is how you would call the Xtra in your code:
-- create the instance of the xtra
objImg = xtra("ImgXtra").new()
-- get the member's image we want to save
imgToSave = member("foobar").image
-- set the path and filename for the bitmap

-- call the ix_saveImage method, with required parameters

The other optional parameters such as format and flags can be set, if you like, and the info can be found in the imgXtra.txt document.

How to delete rows from 2D array in this case...

Hello. I'm just begging adventure with labview so please for patient. I created a program whitch suppose work in following way:
2D Input array is array created by FOLDER BROWSING subVI. It works in this way,that browse folder and looking for txt files whose contanins measurment data. In my case subVI founds 4 files,and from theirs headers read information about what kind of data are in file also their's path. In this way is created 2D Input Array. subVI named PLOTS FROM PATHS ARRAY make picture with polar/XY plot. It's create only those plots and legends on one picture as many files(their paths) is setted to the program by output array. I made this subVI in that way and I would not like to change it.
My problem is that in even loop (witch check for any change by user) program suppose to relay anly those rows(files) for which checkbox are marked, e.g. marking anly 1 and 4 box, program should chose from input array row 1 and 4 only and pass them to output array,then PLOTS FROM PATHS ARRAY subVI makes a picture only with 1 and 4 plot and legend only for plot 1 and 4. The best solution would be some relay witch is avtivated by logical signal. It lost to me ideas how to solve it, I'm just in blaind corner...
I tried to use delete from array but I don't know how to do use it properly in this program,becease it can be only before or afeter for loop. Below is scan of front panel and also main problem. Please set me up somehow to solve this problem.

Sorry If it's a simple question... I'm a beginner in JSFs :P...
I need to do with a dataTable an effect.
In my old JSP file (Basically made with HTML), when I made a TABLE, I changed the class of all the rows. Like this:

</TABLE>All the row changes if the mouse was pointing at its.

Apparently JSF does not provide as simple solution to this simple task as one would expect. I've been looking for a solution to it myself but not found an answer.

Simple import of PDF as cast member

I believe that there used to be a method to import PDF and
DOC files into Director Cast members. Does anyone remember if this
did exist and where they may be currently found.
I want to be able to hold the content of an exisiting PDF or
DOC document inside a Director Cast (Dir 8.5) and then view / print
from the cast member. This is as opposed to turning them into
straight bitmap images. I am not wishing to have the user being
able to access the output via either a PDF reader or Word.

How to export Camera Raw metadata?

I cannot figure out how to export metadata from Camera Raw to xmp files. I need to move my pictures to another computer but files were edited with metadata saved in Camera Raw database.
I run Photoshop CS6 with Camera Raw 8.6 in Windows 8.1.

It's because the Export Settings to XMP command isn't in Camera Raw Preferences. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Flash movie in director heard but not seen... mostly not seen!

Using flash i made a flash movie to use as an intro to my
director project, I imported the flash movie into director and
placed it on the stage. When i play the director file i can hear
the audio from the flash movie but cannot see the flash movie,
untill right near the end i have an image on a motion tween in the
flash movie which i can see.
Can anybody tell me why i cannot see the rest of the flash
movie?

I'm guessing you're using Flash 8 and haven't updated
Director for Flash 8
compatibility.
Go to:
http://www.adobe.com/support/director/downloads.html
make sure you've downloaded and installed the 10.1 update.
Then install the 10.1.1
update. This will update your Flash support.

How to export a embedded sound cast member in Director

I have some sound effects and music files that have been embedded into the cast members of Director. I'm not familiar with director and
can get to the cast member but I need help on how I can export the sound out. I tried Audio Xtra and copy and paste function but couldn't get it to work

You can't copy and paste with the AudioXtra, but rather write code that will export sound cast members. I know I've provided such code on one of these forums to do exactly that - try searching on 'Audio Xtra' or 'AudioXtra'

How to export multiple cast members at once?

i have found a cdrom of family pics and after a day i managed to extract the .cst files, i used GIMP as an external editor to get the photos BUT i only done it one image at the time.
I have probably around 400 images and its gonna take me forever ^^

Download Valentin Schmidt's free Image Xtra and install the xtra ("ImgXtra.x32") and "FreeImage.dll" into Director's Xtras folder ("C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Director 12\Configuration\Xtras\Scripting" or your equivalent)
Link your CST (or CXT/CCT) cast file/s to your movie with the "Link…" button on the dialog presented when you hit Ctrl + Shift + C
Open the message window (Ctrl + M) and type mExportImages(2) and hit ENTER. All the images in the second cast library should be exported, as PNG files, into the same directory as you saved you movie file into

Hi. I am trying to script a simple 2d platformer engine for a larger University project. I have movement sorted with W and A and gravity. I can get collision detection with the floor by doing

I dare say there's a better way to do this, but an easy way is to set a global variable, do a sendallsprites message, and check the global variable again.
So, if you had an extra global in your man control script:

then in your collision checking part you would say this:

The #checkcollision message would get sent to all sprites, and if you had a behavior placed on the floor sprites, that was like this:

any one of those sprites that intersected with the sprite you ask about would then change the global 'hit man' variable to be true. To make a sprite behave like floor, you would just attach that behavior script.
Notice how the floor sprite makes a note of its sprite number when it first shows up on the stage, you could do the same with your other script, if it's attached to the man character. Then you wouldn't have to have it hard coded to '4', which would save some headaches later if you have to change the sprite layers.

Make sure when you export you select the option to include audio. It seems some of the default settings do not include the audio.

I have a developed a page wich dispaly the records based on some condition.
The Page has two regions.
1.RowLayout Region
2.Table Region
Both the regions are getting the data from two diffrent VOs.
In this case how to export the data to excel as the export button will not work if the page uses more than one VO(I think).

Yes you are rite.When i tried exporting the data(which is coming from two different VOs altogether),i got only one region's data and then got error.
