URGENT !!!!!!!!!How to pass parameters to Forms from Reports(Oracle 10g)

Hai
I can call a form named "ABC" from one Report, using "hyperlink" . The URL is
http://....../forms90/f90servlet?form=c:/ABC&userid=a/a@a
Now I want to pass 2 parameters (that are received in that report) to the form ABC.
I am using Oracle 10g.
What to do?
Please reply soon.
I am eagerly waiting for the solution.
Please Help.
Bye

Hai
Thank u for the reply.
Is it possible to pass the variable instead of values.
My report receives 2 parameters named p1 & p2. Actually I want to pass that parameters to the form from the report.
I have tried as You said.
//http/.........&otherparams=param1=:p1+param2=:p2
Then the form receives the ":p1" as the value, it does not take the value of that variable p1.
Please Reply Soon.
Bye...

  • How to pass parameters to concurrent program report from Forms Personalizn

    Hi All,
    I am trying to run a report from a menu entry in the AP Invoice entry form. For this I have done the necessary steps of creating the menu entry and am assigning the values for the 2 parameters to a global variable and then launching SRS form.
    In SRS form created an action to assign the global variable value to work_order.parameters. I can invoke the SRS OK except that my 2 parameter values appear concatenated in the first parameter itself and are not getting assigned to each of them seperately.
    my global variable assignment is as follows :
    =${item.inv_sum_folder.vendor_name.value}||'.'||${item.inv_sum_folder.vendor_site_code.value}
    and my work_order.parameters value assignment is as follows :
    =select nvl(${global.kmg_invalid_po_gv.value}, ${item.work_order.parameters.value}) from dual
    It passes parameters OK if i replace custom report with standard AP report. I also made my parameters to be free text (17 character value set) to not validate input, but still no joy.
    Any ideas why this is not working ?
    Thanks in advance.

    As Francois said in his answer:
    e.g.:Form A call FORM B
    In form A (Button's or menu's Trigger code)
    DECLARE
    param_list_id  ParamList;
    BEGIN
    param_list_id := GET_PARAMETER_LIST('EMPNO');
    IF NOT ID_NULL(param_list_id) THEN
    DESTROY_PARAMETER_LIST(param_list_id);
    END IF;
    param_list_id := CREATE_PARAMETER_LIST('empno');
    ADD_PARAMETER(param_list_id, 'EMPNO', TEXT_PARAMETER, EMPNO);
    CALL_FORM ( 'FORM B.FMX',HIDE,DO_replace,NO_QUERY_ONLY,param_list_id);and in FORM B create a parameter EMPNO (e.g.: varchar2) in node tree(parameter) and at Form level (e.g. WHEN NEW FORM INSTANCE read parameter-
    or you could create a GLOBAL variables

  • How to pass PARAMETERS to FORMS while calling them through URL

    Hi,
    I am working on integrating EBS with OBIEE as per the doc id 552735.1(metalink2)
    In the Document, Oracle had given an example for genating the URL in OBIEE as follows,
    SELECT
    HEADER_ID,
    fnd_run_function.get_run_function_url(
    CAST(fnd_function.get_function_id('ISC_ORDINF_DETAILS_PMV') AS NUMBER),
    CAST( VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.OLTP_EBS_RESP_APPL_ID) AS NUMBER),
    CAST( VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.OLTP_EBS_RESP_ID) AS NUMBER),
    CAST( VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.OLTP_EBS_SEC_GROUP_ID) AS NUMBER),
    'HeaderId='||HEADER_ID||'&pFunctionName=ISC_ORDINF_DETAILS_PMV&pMode=NO
    &pageFunctionName=ISC_ORDINF_DETAILS_PMV',
    NULL) as ORDER_HEADER_ACTION_LINK_URL
    FROM OE_ORDER_HEADERS_ALL
    But this one navigates to the JSP page of sales orders. Its working fine,
    h3. Problem :_
    If i want to navigate to Oracle forms(say Sales Orders),
    i'm able to navigate, by giving the 1st param as '5522'(Sales order Form ID(ONT_OEXOEORD)) and 5th parameter as NULL.
    The 5th parameter is used to navigate to a particular record.
    But i dono how to pass the parameters to this particular Sales Order Form..!
    (like here they hav passed HEADER_ID in a particular format)
    {I guess, this might not be understood totally with this given data here, but i don want to make this post too big.}
    CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME, HOW TO KNOW THE FORMAT OF THE "PARAMETERS" TO PASS(WHILE GENERATING URL)_WHILE CALLING AN ORACLE FORM.._
    Thanks in Advance..!!

    Hi,
    In addition to the above...
    if i give the 5th parameter as, 'HEADER_ID=||'header_id { in runtime it'll be converted as 'HEADER_ID=5432..}
    I'm not getting any error, getting a fresh Sales order page..!! { The given Header ID is ignored }
    else if i give something like 'HEADER_ID=||'header_id||'&FunctionName=ONT_OEXOEORD...' { lets say }
    its throwing the following errors..
    FRM-47023: No such parameter named G_QUERY_FIND exists in form OEXOEORD.
    FRM-40105: Unable to resolve reference to item PARAMETER.G_QUERY_FIND
    FRM-47023: No such parameter named ORDER_NUMBER exists in form OEXOEORD.
    and then it shows up the Navigator.

  • How to pass parameters to javascript from HTMLB Button Click

    Hi Experts,
    I am using a HTMLB Button, I need to pass parameters to JavaScript onClientClick.
    Whether we can pass parameters to javascript function from HTMLB button.
    I tried to pass parameters to javascript in onClientClick, but on load of the page it is saying that its a Syntax error.
    This is the code that i have created Script
    Note: The parameters and the Button are dynamically created. Also there are n Numbers of buttons created.
    Please help me in this regard to solve the issue. If there are any error in syntax please let me know.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Palani

    Rather than using SQL loader, you could just use similar syntax in an external table definition. It both cases, the file may need to be at the OS level.
    http://www.psoug.org/reference/externaltab.html
    If your file is stored in an Apex table's clob column, you can just loop through the individual lines (but then need to parse the lines yourself). See clob2line here http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:285215954607#388438800346703098
    Or you can dump the clob to the OS first (using utl_file or dbms_lob), and then read it back using external table, taking advantage of your control file definition. sqlloader has the disadvantage of needing user/pass usually.

  • How to pass a date parameter from report builder query designer to oracle database

    i'm using report builder 3.0 connected to oracle database. i'm trying to pass a date parameter in the query with no success, i don't
    know the exact syntax. I've tried :
    SELECT * FROM igeneral.GCL_CLAIMS where CREATED_BY IN (:CREATED_BY) AND CLAIM_YEAR IN(:UW_YEAR) AND (LOSS_DATE) >To_Date('01/01/2014','mm/dd/yyyy')
    it worked perfectly.
    However if i try to put a date parameter "From" instead of 01/01/2014 it will not work, a Define Query Parameter popup window appear and error occurred after i fill
    the values (usually i shouldnt get this popup i should enter the value when i run the report)
    SELECT * FROM igeneral.GCL_CLAIMS where CREATED_BY IN (:CREATED_BY) AND CLAIM_YEAR IN(:UW_YEAR) AND (LOSS_DATE) >To_Date(:From,'mm/dd/yyyy')
    appreciate your assistance

    Hi Gorgo,
    According to your description, you have problem when in passing a parameter for running a Oracle Query. Right?
    Based on my knowledge, it use "&" as synax for parameter in Oracle, like we use "@" in SQL Server. In this scenario, maybe you can try '01/01/2014' when inputing in "From". We are not sure if there's any limitation for To_Date()
    function. For your self-testing, you can try the query in sqlplus/sql delveloper. Since your issue is related to Oracle query, we suggest you post this thread onto Oracle forum.

  • Report with Form Passing date to form from report issue

    Hi All ,
    I got stuck up in the below issue .Can anyone point out the issue behind it and how to get rid of this.
    I have created a report page with form page .The report page have 2 column identified as conjugate primary key.the col1 is varchar2 and col2 is date .
    The report page have one link on col1 field which is passing the Item_value for both col1 and col2 to form page .
    In the DB level the col2 data type is date (for e.g : 26/07/2007 07:08:56) .But the probem is when we are clicking on the link of col1 it is displaying error like Error like ORA-01403: no data found .
    But if the data in DB is only in format of DD/MM/YYYY removing the timestmap the link is working fine and returing data for other fields in the form page .
    Could anyone pls pointed out the problem and let us know the issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Deba

    Hi Deba,
    I suppose your problem is due to the : in the time.
    You're passing these values with the url I suppose? Have a look how APEX generates/constructs the url, it uses : to separate things.
    I'm not sure why you want a date in a Primary Key?
    Thanks,
    Dimitri

  • Form Personalization - Custom Function - How to pass parameters?

    I have my function defined and registered. In the definition under "Web HTML" tab, I have my pl/sql procedure call under "HTML Call". Where do the parameters go?
    On the customization of form POXPOEPO, I am using Builtin - Launch a function. I want to pass the po_header_id, so under "Parameters", I did "Insert Item Value" of :PO_HEADERS.PO_HEADER_ID

  • How to pass parameters between two xterm windows?

    Hi,
    I would like to know how to pass parameters between two xterm windows where there are two independence processes running on them respectively ? Would appreciate if any one out there can advise me . Thanks.

    Global variables can be used, but you can do what the online help
    says ...
    Parameters are passed to called forms by means of a parameter
    list. A parameter list is a named programmatic construct that is
    simply a list of parameter names (called keys) and their values.
    You can pass parameter values to forms invoked by the built-in
    subprograms CALL_FORM, OPEN_FORM, and NEW_FORM. In addition, you
    can pass parameter values to other Oracle tools with the
    RUN_PRODUCT procedure.
    A parameter you include in a parameter list can be either a text
    parameter or a data parameter. The parameter type determines how
    its value is interpreted.
    Text Parameters The value of a text parameter being passed to a
    called product is a CHAR string that can represent the following:
    n a user-defined form parameter defined in a form invoked
    by the CALL_FORM, OPEN_FORM, or NEW_FORM built-in subprograms
    n a command line or user-defined parameter for a product
    invoked with the RUN_PRODUCT built-in subprogram
    Data Parameters The value of a data parameter being passed to a
    called product is always the name of a record group defined in
    the current form. (A record group is a data structure that
    stores records derived from a query or through programmatic
    assignment.) Data parameters are used to pass data to products
    invoked with the RUN_PRODUCT built-in subprogram. You cannot
    pass data parameters to forms.
    The following table shows the structure of a parameter list that
    contains four parameters:
    Key Paramtype Value
    CITY Text_Parameter 'BOGOTA'
    CATEGORY Text_Parameter 'EXPORTS'
    MULTIPLIER Text_Parameter '.0275'
    NEW_DATA Data_Parameter 'RECORD_GROUP8'

    In the view2 , i just have a caption in my layout where i am displaying the parameter value by setting the attribute.THe warning i get is in view2. Here is the code. Apart from this there is no coding in view2.
    METHOD HANDLEPLUG_IN_V2 .
        DATA:
          NODE_CAPT_MSG                       TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE,
          ELEM_CAPT_MSG                       TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT,
          STRU_CAPT_MSG                       TYPE IF_VIEW2=>ELEMENT_CAPT_MSG ,
          ITEM_MSG                            LIKE STRU_CAPT_MSG-MSG.
    *   navigate from <CONTEXT> to <CAPT_MSG> via lead selection
        NODE_CAPT_MSG = WD_CONTEXT->GET_CHILD_NODE( NAME = `CAPT_MSG` ).
    *   get single attribute
        NODE_CAPT_MSG->SET_ATTRIBUTE(
          EXPORTING
            NAME =  `MSG`
            VALUE = PAR_1 ).
    ENDMETHOD.

  • Pass parameter to form from webpage?

    Hi guys,
    I'm aware that you are able to pass parameters between forms using CALL_FORM (using parameter list).
    Is it possible to pass parameters to a form from the webpage?

    i am trying to pass the parent_id as a parameter to a portal page but am not able to... i can add it to the list of in parameters to the PL/SQL based parent id but when i add the parent id to the url then i get no result... i created a custom attribute for the parent id since there is no attribute build other then page group and page id... when I set the Parent ID attributes default value in the attribute properties of the item type based on PL/SQL it just brings back results for the default value and if i pass a different value for ithe parent id i dont get the correct result I get the result for the default parent id.
    I am using the followin url to pass the parent id
    http://localhost:7778/portal/page?_pageid=76,87832&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&parentid=22223
