Urgent!! Problem in using session invalidate()

Dear all,
I think may be the problem has been posted here before, but i can't find the solution yet. I hope you can help me about this.
My case is that i wrote a logout servlet for my web site. So i use session.invalidate() in the servlet. After that it will redirect to the home page again. At this time, NullPointerException is thrown. I have tried many ways to solve this problem, but still failed.
Can anyone help me? Thanks for advanced.

    how to avoid this problem....

    The browser stores the page in the cache and renders the cached page when you press the back button. You can use headers to stop the browser from caching the pages that you don't want to be cached. Like in your example you can apply the headers to the home page. Look here for more info...

    Thanks,
    Salam.

    And BTW you do not need that clumsy CURSOR c.. OPEN c.. FETCH c INTO... CLOSE c etc. It is "reserved" for more complex cases when you cannot use:
    <pre>
    FOR P IN
         select Process_template_name
              from ProcessTemplate
              where PROCESS_template_ID in
                   (select PROCESS_template_ID

                                  where STATUS = 'PI_COMPLETED'
                                       OR STATUS = 'PI_REMOVED'
    LOOP
         EXECUTE IMMEDIATE
              'DELETE FROM ' || P.Process_template_name ||
                   ' WHERE process_instance_id in
                        (select process_instance_id
                             from PROCESSINSTANCE
                             where STATUS = ''PI_COMPLETED'' OR STATUS = ''PI_REMOVED''
    END LOOP;

  • URGENT -- Problem in using JMS with JBOSS

    Hi,
    My jar file which includes my Java/JMS classes can easily be executed when I use Sun Application server, but I don't know how I can change execute the same jar file in when I switch to JBOSS. Do I need to use ants? or I can use the original jar files?
    thanks,

    It can depends on your application, but basically in order to run JMS JBoss client application you need:
    1) Set proper jndi settings, e.g. by placing jndi.properties to the root of your classpath.
    2) Add some jars to your classpath from client folder of your jboss AS distribution. My latest application works well with concurrent.jar, jnp-client.jar and jbossall-client.jar on the classpath.
    You can read more at http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/guides/j2eeguide/r2/en/html/ch6.chapt.html It is valid for all the 4.x jboss versions. Check jboss samples also.

  • ViewExpiredException issue with session invalidate on IE9

    Hi guys,
    I have posted this on the ADF forum as well as I'm not sure of the root cause is JHeadstart related or not - but I thought I would check also here to see if anyone else has encountered this ...
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6 (JHeadstart 11.1.1.4.26) and having problems when calling "session.invalidate();" with my custom JhsAuthenticationFilter. If i log on and immediately log out (so no web.xml timeout which is set to 25 min) - The message shown on screen is
    "Because of inactivity, your session is timed out and is no longer active. Click on OK to reload the page"
    In the log files, the following error is thrown

    Brent,
    I think it is best to make a very simple testcase without JHeadstart (you can cust and paste code from the jhs auth fillter as needed) and then attach your testcase to the post on JDev forum, or copntact Oracle support.
    Looks like a browser-specific ADF bug to me.

  • Urgent: session invalidate problem

    Guys:
    Has anyone had a issue with session.invalidate() using weblogic 8.1.
    we have vignette portal and weblogic 8.1.
    the problem i have noticed is session.getId retunrns a extra timestamp string in the end. And i am thinking since this changes the entire sessionid, it does not get invalidated. I tried adjusting the weblogic.xml's idlength session-param to 52 but this still happens after that. can anyone suggest any insights. i am unable to kill the session and hence the user is always logged in. the only way is to close to broswer window.

  • Can I use sessions to solve a problem?

    I have a set of three pages called say "pick", "edit" and "confirm". The edit page is on one of a set of 5 spry tabbed panels.The server is unix and the machine uses windows 64 bit and CS5.5.
    Pick uses a drop down list to select an item to edit. It then sends the record index to the edit page where it is edited.
    Edit then updates the page and sends the user to the confirm page where he told that the edit was OK and is given a link that takes him back to the edit page.
    So far everything works fine - the record is edited and the user knows it. But he needs to be able to check it, and that's the problem..
    While this link does send the user back to the previous page, it does not send any info as to which record it should pull out.
    I have tried to store the value of the record index in a session, but just cannot get it to be available ion the confirm page.
    As soon as I enter <?php session_start() ?> on line 1 of any page, I get the message :
    Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent on line 1  on the pick page and line  62 on the edit page as soon as a button is pressed, or, in the case of the edit page, as soon as live View is active.
    This line is where the page is directed to the next page using a stock Dreamweaver udate record behaviour.:
      $updateGoTo = "editok.php";
      if (isset($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'])) {
        $updateGoTo .= (strpos($updateGoTo, '?')) ? "&" : "?";
        $updateGoTo .= $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];
    }header(sprintf("Location: %s", $updateGoTo)); // This is line 62.
    I have checked all the lines for white space, made sure that the instruction is on line 1 and have no include files other than connection files, all with no white space. Matters not whether I put them before or after the session start instruction.
    I even created a new page with just a form and a field to send and this gives the same message - this was not on a spry panel..
    PHP ini has the path to sessions set up, and sessions are visible there.
    I get the feeling that the tabbed panels could be part of the problem, as when the user lands on the edit page, he has to select the second panel, so some output must have been sent to the browser.and that would kill the session I think?
    Is there a way of passing the info from page to page without using sessions?

    Thanks Burak - I was aware of the bom problem.
    Bregent - I think that I found the problem. I was using a set of 5 spry tabs with a form on each and trying to update them one at a time. To get to any of the forms, I had to open a tab, so I assume that the browser generated some output and that was why I had problems with the sessions.
    So I found out how to set up the tabs within the same form, which meant that I could edit all 5 pages at one go, and only post them on the last one. I got the idea from a post on the spry forum which links to a page containing  code which does this at
    http://www.soleproductions.com/oakley/tabform.php
    With some slight modification, this gave me a better solution with no need for sessions.
    This still left the problem of passing the edit page location to the confirm page. Its such a long time since I have used parameters that I had forgotten them.
    However, a little modification to the update record server behaviour enabled me to pass the correct value from the $_POST array to the confirm page.
    Like so:
    From this:
    $updateGoTo = "editok.php";
      if (isset($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'])) {
        $updateGoTo .= (strpos($updateGoTo, '?')) ? "&" : "?";
        $updateGoTo .= $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];
    }header(sprintf("Location: %s", $updateGoTo));
    To this:
      $updateGoTo = "editok.php?pick=" . $_POST['club_index'] . "";
      if (isset($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'])) {
        $updateGoTo .= (strpos($updateGoTo, '?')) ? "&" : "?";
        $updateGoTo .= $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];
      header(sprintf("Location: %s", $updateGoTo));
    Using this code there was no problem with "headers already sent."
    None of the info is particularly sensitive.
    Thanks for the interest.

  • Problem in using XSQL-session and connecting database

    Hello
    Let me explain clearly. We have some data entry screens for which we want to use session with time out option. Normally in Servlet, we use to create a session with max age option. Then everytime the browser call the servlet we use to check for session.isnew(). If it is new session then we will forward the page to Relogin (because session is timed out) or we proced with further action.
    In XSQLServlet, how will do this. Do I have to create my own servlet extended from XSQLServlet ? Override the Service method and write about the session part and call
    super(). Here only I am getting confused. In servlet mapping we have given for every .XSQL call run the XSQLServlet. How will I override this ?
    And also we have problem with user id and password. We don't want to use the same id (system id as defined in XSQLConfig.xml) for every database connection. We want to define only the connection information like SID, Server, Port number. But user id and password should be dynamic. How can I achieve this ?
    Please help us on solving these problem. Thanks.
    Lakshmi

    You'll need to implement your own classes that implement the:
    oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLConnectionManagerFactory
    and
    oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLConnectionManager
    to change the way XSQL handles connections. Using this mechanism, you should be able to implement any alternative connection scheme you choose.
    If you run into problems implementing these interfaces, give us a shout here in the forum.

  • URGENT:Problem in a mapping with 8 tables in JOIN and using the DEDUP op.

    I have an urgent problem with a mapping: I must load data from 8 source tables (joined togheter) in a target table.
    Some data from 1 of the 8 tables have to be deduplicated, so I created a sort of staging table where I inserted the "cleaned" data, I mean, the deduplicated ones.
    I made it to make all the process faster.
    Then, I joined the 8 tabled, writing the join conditions in the operator properties, and connected the outputs into the fields of the target table.
    But..it does not work because this kind of mapping create a cartesian product.
    Then, I tried again with another mapping builted up in this way: after the joiner operator, I used the Match-Merge Operator and I load all data into a staging table exactly alike the target one, except for the PK (because it is a sequence). Then, I load the data from this staging table into the target one, and, of course, I connect to the target table also the sequence (the primary key). The first loading works fine (and load all the data as I expected).
    For the next loadings,I scheduled a pre-mapping process that truncate the staging table and re-load the new data.
    But..it does not work. I mean, It doesn't update the data previously loaded (or inser the new ones), but only insert the data, not considering the PK.
    So, my questions are as follow:
    1) Why loading the data directly from the joiner operator into the fact table doesn't work? Why does it generate a cartesian product??
    2) The "escamotage" to use the Match-Merge operator is correct? I have to admit that I didn't understand very well the behaviour of this operator...
    3) And, most of all, HOW CAN I LOAD MY DATA? I cannot find a way out....

    First of all, thanks for the answer!
    Yes, I inserted the proper join condition and in fact I saw that when WB generates the script it considers my join but, instead of using the fields in a single select statement, it builts up many sub-selects. Furthermore, it seems as it doesn't evaluate properly the fields coming from the source tables where I inserted the deduplicated data...I mean, the problems seems not to be the join condition, but the data not correctly deduplicated..

  • Session concurrency problems on using IFrame

    Hi All,
    I am working on internationalization , i've used session level for differnt languages . In a jsp page there is one IFrame
    when i opend jsp page for english, content of IFrame is also english
    But when i open arbic version simultaneously Content of IFrame are not arabic those are english.
    When i print the session ID inside IFrame then i found that sessionID are overlapped inside IFrame.
    But everything is working fine for outer jsp page.There is no concurrency problem.
    Note : I track this error while setting the page referesh time one second
    using meta tag.
    Please help me for this issue.If you need any code for that please tell me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Himanshu

    is the url of your iframe the same as your outer page?
    if your outer page is http://127.0.0.1 and the iframe is http://localhost, you will have 2 sessions

  • Problem in using XSQL-Session

    We want to use Session information in our application. How do I use XSQL-SEt-Session-param ? Do I have to create another servlet to manage session and call the XSQLServlet from that session servlet or can I use XSQL-session elements ?
    Please help on this.

    <xsql:set-session-param> sets a session-level parameter to a value
    To refer to the session-level parameter value, just refer to its name as a parameter.
    No extra servlets needed.

  • URGENT : Problem in DataSource usage in Client applIcation

    URGENT : Problem in DataSource usage in Client applIcation
    Hi ALL
    I have deployed a EJB(Session Bean) in Oracle-OC4J Container.I am using datasources, in my bean as well as in my client
    application.Here Client is deployed along with bean in container.
    I am using "ejb-location"JNDI Name inside Client to get connection.
    (Which is mentioned in datasource element of datasources.xml)
    For this i have configured datasources.xml also.
    If i use "oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource" in datasources.xml then ClassNotFoundException is coming.
    But i have included classes12.jar in home/lib directory
    But if i use "com.evermind.sql.ConnectionDataSource" then i am getting connection.But if i do some operations(Even
    setAutoCommit(false))its giving NULL PointerException.
    Why this is happening?
    Thanx in advance
    Venky

    Hi Venkastesh,
    There are two issues. If your entry is like this....
    location="microDS"
    xa-location="jdbc/xa/MicroXADS"
    ejb-location="MicroPool"
    ...then use ejb-location for database calls through ejb and location when you try to get through normal java client.
    This will help you.
    regards,
    Vijay

    if (event.equals(Constant.EVENT_LOGOFF)) {
         /* invalidate the session and forward to logout url */
                                  session.invalidate();
                                  System.out.println("url logoff -> " + logoutUrl);
                                  response.sendRedirect(logoutUrl);
    please tell me what could be the problem.
    thanks

    Hi,
    To set these values you can use "plan.xml" which is not part of your application physically. Only u need to have a weblogic.xml file in your application ....even it may be empty...because you can add the Tags functionality on the fly without editing your application.....
    Please refer to:

  • Portlet question- session.invalidate()- with weblogic

    Guys:
    Has anyone had a issue with session.invalidate() using weblogic 8.1.
    we have vignette and weblogic 8.1.
    the problem i have noticed is session.getId retunrns a extra timestamp string in the end. And i am thinking since this changes the entire sessionid, it does not get invalidated. I tried adjusting the weblogic.xml's idlength session-param to 52 but this still happens after that. can anyone suggest any insights. i am unable to kill the session and hence the user is always logged in. the only way is to close to broswer window.
    session id:

    any help will be appreciated..thanks.

    i havent gone to weblogic support yet. Want to check
    if anyone of us might have seen a similar issue.I haven't used weblogic in a while. I doubt many people here have. I would suggest you ask on a weblogic forum. This is a java forum.
