URGENT : Problem in DataSource usage in Client applIcation
Hi ALL
I have deployed a EJB(Session Bean) in Oracle-OC4J Container.I am using datasources, in my bean as well as in my client
application.Here Client is deployed along with bean in container.
I am using "ejb-location"JNDI Name inside Client to get connection.
(Which is mentioned in datasource element of datasources.xml)
For this i have configured datasources.xml also.
If i use "oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource" in datasources.xml then ClassNotFoundException is coming.
But i have included classes12.jar in home/lib directory
But if i use "com.evermind.sql.ConnectionDataSource" then i am getting connection.But if i do some operations(Even
setAutoCommit(false))its giving NULL PointerException.
Why this is happening?

Hi Venkastesh,
There are two issues. If your entry is like this....
location="microDS"
xa-location="jdbc/xa/MicroXADS"
ejb-location="MicroPool"
...then use ejb-location for database calls through ejb and location when you try to get through normal java client.
This will help you.

Is anyone here encountered very high CPU usage after upgraded the database from SQL 2005 to SQL 2012? Following describes my issue.
I have my client application running on Windows 7 that access to central database (SQL 2005) on Windows server 2003 using ODBC connection, this client application basically query data and perform data insert and update. There are a number of this similar
clients connected to the database.
Due to slowness of the database server, company decided to upgrade the database server to SQL 2012 and also new hardware runing Windows Server 2012. There is no change on the client application and client hardware and the client application still using the
same ODBC connection to query, insert or update the new database server.
The problem I am now experiencing now is that my client PC where my client application running the CPU usage is very high almost hitting 100% when accessing to the central database. I am also noticed this program lsass.exe that utilized almost 40-50% of
the CPU time when client application accessing the central database.
Is anyone here know, why client PC CPU usage 100% when access to upgraded SQL 2012 database? What is lsass.exe program doing, it only appear when accessing to database server. How to reduce the CPU usage on client?

Urgent: problem running reports in Oracle 10g application server

Hi all,
our problem is that we deployed a jsp report as Ear file in Oracle 10g application server in infrastructure node.deployment says successfull.when we try to run that report it says 401 unauthorised.while sending request we are passing the database username,password &sid is this correct or any configuration setting to be done to make it run.
one morething normal jsp works fine.when we run reports jsp it gives the above mentioned 401 error.

when you deploy reports JSPs they still require the reports specific componentes (e.g. TLD file, classes, ...) etc be available. i doubt that's the case in your ear file.

Obtaining DataSource from a client application

Hi,
I am trying to use the connection pooling capability of DataSource, but my application is not running under any container, ie. servlet/ejb. How can i obtain DataSource object ? Do I need to use JNDI to do that ? If so, how can I use JNDI without any web container/ejb container ?

You simple run the JNDI registry in a separate process, then bind obejcts to it, which could be a datasource or whatever. Then you have other objects connect to the JNDI tree and lookup objects. It works the same, but you simply have to initiate the JNDI service manually.

After clicking to send/not send an error report, I get back to the desktop where all appears normal. However, I can no longer access the internet while logged in under this account.
I can log in on another PC with the domain admin account with no error.

I would like to suggest you run System File Checker with command: sfc /scannow to scan and repair the system files.
If it does not work, please also test the issue in Clean Boot.

Adding a Formview in a rich client application---urgent

You seem to be having a problem with creating an Eclipse plugin. You don't seem to be having any problem at all with Java and XML that I can see. I think you would have more chance of getting an answer if you looked over on the Eclipse site for a forum for plugin writers.

OWB CLient Application Problem

We have the installed the OS as Windows 2003 server Enterprise Edition and on which we have installed the ORACLE 9i Database. Even our OWB Design time installation went on successfuly with the creation of Target schema & Run time repository schema. Still the problem we are facing is as soon as we try to start the OWB Client application it gets hung immediatly after showing the first popup of OWB Client server 9.2.0 screen. Please let us know is there any other setting we need to do for this to start off smoothly. Is there any OWB server installation needed? Your early reply would be very helpful.

Please follow the steps as given:
1) change datetime in your client machine to current date.
2) reboot your machine
3) move the following files to another backup place eg desktop:
$OWB92_CLIENT_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/ext/US_export_policy.jar
$OWB92_CLIENT_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/ext/jce1_2_1.jar
$OWB92_CLIENT_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/ext/local_policy.jar
$OWB92_CLIENT_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/ext/sunjce_provider.jar
Where $OWB92_CLIENT_HOME is the path to your owb9.2 client home.
4) Copy the 4 replacement files, (mail me to - [email protected], I'll send you the 4 .jar files), to the directory OWB92_CLIENT_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/ext/
5)start owb…
If all has gone well, delete the files moved in step 3.

I have deployed a very simple ear file ( consisting of 1 session bean ) called
HelloEjbsApp.ear in Weblogic 6.1. I want to access the method in this ejb from
a client application. Please can anybody tell me the steps to do the same? I have
referred to the documentation, but it isn't too clear.
I have a HelloClient.java class inside a jar file called HelloClientJAR.jar,
which is inside the client application called HelloClientApp.ear. As I understand,
I should have the following 3 files for the same.
application.xml
application-client.xml
HelloClientJAR.runtime.xml ( This exists in the same directory as the HelloClientApp.ear
I then ran the following command
java appclient.ClientDeployer HelloClientApp.ear HelloClientJAR
It deployed properly, without any errors.
After this, how do I exceute the HelloClient class? Please if anybody knows the
solution to my problem, help me.

Unless it's a J2EE "application client" which is packaged in the ear.
Unfortunately 6.1 still doesn't support that standard.

Problems Logging in Client Application after Download and Setup

I'm having trouble running the desktop Client x64 bit Client application for the Primavera (P6) Version 7 Project Management program. Throughout the entire download and configuration process, I have written down all user names and passwords needed.
Once installed, I attempted to log in to the software with both "admin" and "system" usernames (along with my password configured during my registration with the E-Delivery Oracle software. The default database provided is "ORAPMDB".
After attempting there, I went through the user guides that came with the zip file(s) and ran through the "Getting Started Guide" for Oracle Database Express Edition (Oracle Database XE), which included signing in as the database administrator and setting up a sample user profile (username "hr", password "hr") and creating my first application. I have no idea what the significance of having an "application" created has on logging in to Primavera, but the "Stand Alone V7.0.0.0.3." PDF guide suggested I run through that process and obtain a database username and password before launching the Project Management Module. Of course, none of the usernames or passwords used in the Oracle Database XE program work with P6.
Has anyone run in to this similar issue before? Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds as if you ran a stand-alone P6v7 installation... Did you try username = "admin" password = "admin" when logging into the P6 client?
What is the exact error message you receive? Invalid login or unable to connect to the database?

Iphone client application using SUP build problem

I created client application for iphone. while building i am getting the following error Parse issue in the "SUPLogLevel.h" file like "Expected selector for objective-c method" at the
+(int)DEBUG method. Howevevr i did not change anything in that SUP given include file. Can anybody plese help me how to solve this.

I saw on a different post of yours that this was something to do with the version of SUP and SDK you were using at the time? Error while building SUP based iphone client application
Our developer is facing the same issue with her libraries now and I am trying to investigate where this comes from. Your insight will be very useful.
The issue takes place under the SUPLogLevel.h for the (int) Error method.
She mentioned that she updated her xCode recently. Is this something that may caused the issue?

Urgent: Problems in Generic Extraction by Function Module

Hi BW Gurus,
I am new to SDN and also new to generic extraction using function module. My requirement is to extract long text(142 char) from CRM to BW as the text is not stored in database table I used function module read_text with in another ZXXX function module copy of (RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE). In my extract structure I used GUID(char,32), Langu, long text(142 char) and 2 placeholders. Text can be extracted by passing STXH table fields(Tdname, Tdid, Tdobject, Tdspars) to read_text as parameters and i also need to use CRMD_ORDERADM_H field GUID(32 char) to compare 1st 32 chars of tdname(70 char) with Guid to select Guids and loop thru this Guids and for each Guid i need to append lines of text to e_t_data but as i donot know ABAP i unable to write the code for this. Through my friends help i wrote code when i check in RSA3 it is displaying the text but when i replicate into BW and load into data target in monitor the status is red with records initially but afterwards it will be red status again with 0 from 0 records for initial load again.when i check on job logs the errors i have are:
The background job has created a job log file of 2Gb size and it is currently on a infinite loop writing entries into the SAP System Log that it cannot write to the Job log file due to Error 22 for write/read access to a file this is because of the datasource i have created. The statement <b>RAISE NO_MORE_DATA</b> should be active (uncommented) in your code. Otherwise, the infinte loop occurs.

URGENT Problem with Greek Character from an Oracle database

Hello, I am having a serious and urgent problem with the character settings of an oracle database (8.1.7). The database is sitting in a solaris unix server and when we run the env command we have the following in the NLS_LANG parameter: AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 (I do not know if this is helpful). When I retrieve data from oracle database (through a VB.NET 2005 program)to a dataset I use a special font in order to see the greek characters (HELLASARIAL). But when I am trying to save these data to a TXT file the greek characters are like Chinese to us. I tried several encodings (System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(869)) but without success. Can someone tell me how to convert the oracle greek characters during the selection or during the saving to the TXT file?

I have the information that you have a VB.Net 2005 application connected to an Oracle database 8.1.7.4 hosted on a UNIX server.
This database has the CharacterSet WE8ISO8859P1.
When retrieving Greek characters from this database in the application, you cannot see them.
Could you please send me a screenshot of these characters in the .Net application?
Are they displayed as gibberish, or as inverted questions marks (?)?
I already had similar cases with Hebrew characters hosted on an Oracle database.
These characters were displayed as questions marks on the client side.
This is due to the fact that System.Data.OracleClient is using the Server CharacterSet to display the characters.
If your Greek characters are not stored in the WE8ISO8859P1 characterset, then they won’t display correctly on the client-side.
This is different from OLEDB where you could interact on client side by modifying the NLS_LANG parameter in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0.
The client NLS_LANG and the server CharacterSet had to match in order to correctly display the data, and avoid SQL*NET conversion.
So there are two solutions to your case:
- The first one is to create a new database using the P8 characterset. The Oracle .Net managed provider will so be able to use it and display the characters correctly.
- The second one is to use the OLEDB.Net managed provider, and then use OLEDB for Oracle provider. OLEDB will take care of the client NLS_LANG registry parameter.
Would it be possible to test your application against an Oracle database with WE8ISO8859P8 characterset?

Problem connecting to database within an application

We are running an application that utilizes SQL Server 2008 Standard, and has client software running on Windows 7 64-bit systems. Users access the database via the client software. There have been reported problems connecting to the database. Users can
launch the client application, but when they go to a part of the application that connects to the database, they encounter the following error:

I have connected to the server via remote desktop, and have been able to access the database via the SQL Studio. The connection that I made is to the mghrostortest\RAYTEST1 database, and I have logged in via the sa account. I have stopped and
restarted the Database and the SQL Agent on the mghrostortest server.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what further steps I should take here?

Client application freezes permanently when one user logoff and another user take that session on windows server 2008 r2

Hi,
we have windows server 2008 r2 and In our application there are three server and on e client application.
My client application freezes on a specific scenario.
Steps taken to hang are following:-
1. start client application
2. open an module named by XYZ
3. login to remote machine with another session./ Another user login from their computer.
4. connect with the session which have client application opened.
5. Whenever the session is forcibly taken client application becomes unresponsive.
