URL - _adf.ctrl-state

hi
Is there a way to hide this particular part of url (_adf.ctrl-state=o3n0hu5zr_4)
http://127.0.0.1:7101/XXXX/faces/XXX/home.jspx?_adf.ctrl-state=o3n0hu5zr_4
I remved the disply of session id by <url-rewriting-enabled>false</url-rewriting-enabled>
Edited by: Queenbee on Sep 17, 2009 11:24 AM

Hi,
not, there isn't. The state token is added by the controller and without this the context of your page navigation would be unknown (especially using bounded task flows, removing it will cause issues)

  • Removing the _adf.ctrl-state

    I am using an unbounded task flow. I dont want the session information to pass to the forwarding screen. _adf.ctrl-state should not appear in the url after forward. Is there any way to do that ?
    Thanks
    Suneesh

    I do have two pages . Page1 displayes a tree structure and there is an edit pane. Page2 is the create node page. I created one tree node from create page and set the action parameter of the command button to page1. After forwarding to the page1 the tree is not getting updated. If i am directly accessing the page1 url its showing the data expected. I am not an expert in ADF , so i was thougt if we can some how build the direct url my use case will work properly

  • Are the values of _adf.ctrl-state and window.name assigned uniquely?

    Hi
    I found that javaScript window.name always returns the same value with the value of URL parameter _adf.ctrl-state subtracted by 3.
    For example, if the adf.ctrl-state is xxxxxxxxx4, window.name returns xxxxxxxxx_1.
    I want to utilize these values to handle windows with javaScript programming.
    But I wonder if these values are assigned uniquely or not.
    By chance they can be equal to those of previously opened window?

    Thanks for your responses.
    My use case is as follows.
    There is an ADF application having two pages, say page A and B.
    A user can open page A on multiple windows simultaneously, while page B is allowed to be opened on only one window per session.
    When a certain event is kicked in page A and there is no window showing page B, page B is opened on a new modeless window.
    However, if there is already a window showing page B when the event is kicked in page A, a new page B window should not be opened but the event should be propagated to the existing page B window and refresh it.
    As far as I know, ADF does not provide this kind of inter-window communication functionality.
    Thus I thought of using JavaScript.
    When page B is opened, the name of the window showing it is added to the session attribute (with a key of "page B", for example).
    Depending on whether session.getAttribute("page B") returns null or not null, the event in page A is resulted in opening a new page B window or refreshing the existing page B window, respectively.
    I admit that this is not cool.
    I do appreciate if someone show me a better solution.

    Kenji

  • Disable random generation of  .adf-ctrl-state and the view state

    Hi,
    I'm trying to test a few transaction on an ADF application that would need to be run using a simulator.
    The problem is it is pretty hard to do this using a programmed simulator since everytime the adf-ctrl-state and the viewstate in the browser change, which requires capturing them. To complicate matters further there exists the PPR navigation (at least that's what I think it is) which present a unique _afrLoop id, that also seems to behave differently with different user-agents.
    My question is, can I do anything with those fiedls that would allow me to have one id to run my transactions ? I understand that some of those ids, like the viewstate act like a session nonce....but are there do I have any options ?
    Thanks,

    You will need to configure your test suite to capture and replay those values. There is also the javax.faces.ViewState variable.
    Here are some good pointers on how to do this in JMeter

    Suma,
    If you're trying to generate a column with a URL, try something like the following:
    select key, num,
    case when Attachmentcnt(KEY) != 0 then
    'f?p=&APP_ID.:91:&SESSION.:'' '':NO::P91_KEY,P91NUM,P91_PREVPG:'
    || tableA.key || ',' || tableA.num || ',' || :P91_PREVPG
    else NULL
    end
    FROM tableA;
    But the best way to pass these would include checksum values against the values of your parameters (to make sure a user doesn't hack them). You'll need to check the Apex User manual for details - See "Understanding Session State Protection".
    Good luck,
    Stew

  • URL Fragments and States

    My application has a button bar across the top that will jump
    to the section you select. The sections are defined by a viewstack.
    Within some of the sections are linkbuttons that will display
    different text based on what you click. These are defined by
    states. All of this works fine.
    I am currently using the browserManager to link within the
    application. When one of the top buttons is selected, the URL
    changes to include a fragment of "page=" and then the selectedIndex
    of the viewstack. This works fine, also.
    My problem is adding to the fragment "view=" and the selected

  • Multiple user sessions for ADF application

    Hi All,
    We have a ADF application with 3-4 pages starting with a login screen.
    Assume we have two users, user1 and user2. In same system but different browser windows, when both users are logging in, only user2 's session is active. Though user1 logged in first and is able to perform transactions, the moment user2 logs in, user1's session is being over-written by user2 (user1's window now displays user2's information). I have observed the URL of user1 window which now changes to user2's URL (_adf.ctrl-state parameter of user2 is displayed in user1 browser)
    How do we overcome this?? We have a requirement to be able to open multiple user sessions.
    We are using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0 and browsers being used are IE 8, IE9 and chrome.
    Thanks,

    HttpSession httpSession = (HttpSession)ectx.getSession(true);

  • Getting "Error 403--Forbidden" while accessing ADF bookmarked URL

    Hi,
    Here am trying to work with an ADF application to suport bookmarking.
    Following are the steps I did to create a sample application.
    Created a bounded task-flow (user-details.xml), which has the "Method call" as default activity along with an another view activity(userData.jsff page).
    This task-flow takes an input parameter "Id" to display user details. In the method call activity user data will be initialized using the given input parameter and then the data will be displayed using userData.jsff page.
    Created a view activity (details.jspx page) in adfc-config.xml file.
    Marked the "details.jspx" file as bookmark-able by changing "Bookmark property to true" and given a Bookmark URL Parameter "Name is Id and Value is #{pageFlowScope.user_id}".
    Dropped the bounded task-flow user-details.xml as a region into the details.jspx file.
    Now the user_id which is coming as URL Parameter will be passed to user-details.xml task-flows input parameter value.
    Created users.jspx page which lists all the users as home page. In the users.jspx page we'll have a link to user details page with a parameter Id.
    By running the application will get users page. When I click on the user details link in the users page, the app showing user details page as expected.
    Now I bookmarked the user details page. If I open the bookmarked page in the same tab, it is working fine. But when I open this bookmark in a new tab getting the "Error 403--Forbidden" response.
    Bookmarked URL: localhost:7101/BookmarkTestApp-ViewController-context-root/faces/user_details?id=123&_afrWindowMode=0&_afrLoop=4884151149818&_adf.ctrl-state=35yghmx4f_18
    When I click the above bookmark in another tab the url is processing for few seconds ( 2 to 3 seconds) and converts to localhost:7101/BookmarkTestApp-ViewController-context-root/ and giving 403 response. At this time it is not touching my beans at all (verified this by running the server in debug mode).
    Web.xml looks like:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <web-app xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
             xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd"

  • Passing parameters through URL in ADF Application with UIShell

    Hi,
    JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0
    The UI in our application is developed with UIShell pageTemplate.
    We have a Home page created with PageTemplace "UIShell.jspx" and this page is placed as a view in adfc-config.xml (the Unbounded Task Flow).
    The other pages for our application are created using Page Fragments and these pages are called from Home_taskmenu.xml through Bounded task flows.
    With this setting, the URL(after SignIn) will look like,
    http://localhost:7101/OperationalPlanning/faces/Home?_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.no-new-window-redirect=true&_afrLoop=6811862222491857&_adf.ctrl-state=29wus7giw_19
    We have a requirement to build the URL which should open a Page Fragment directly after Signing In to the application. And we have a id to be passed as a parameter, so it should open the page fragment with the details based on the id value that we pass.
    The parameters are already registered in the Bounded Task Flow(which has the page fragment) and I could open in the "localArea" using a link in the Home Page.
    Now, I want to directly launch the Bounded task flow by passing a parameter, so that it opens the Page Fragment as a tab once we signIn.
    Let me know if there is any solution for this requirement.
    If there is any document to follow for this kind of requirement in an application which is created using the UIShell, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Tamil

    hi Frank,
    Thanks for the response. We followed your suggestion and managed to capture URL parameters in afterPhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_MODEL) and save parameters to ViewScope.
    Then in beforePhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_RENDER), we retrieve parameters back and invoke FndUIController.openMainTask method to launch the correponding taskflow but nothing happens.
    public static void openTaskflowOnNewTab(String taskflowId) {
    try {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ELContext elc = fc.getELContext();
    ExpressionFactory ef = fc.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
    ValueExpression valExp = ef.createValueExpression(elc,"#{bindings.openMainTask}",Object.class);
    JUCtrlActionBinding methodBinding = (JUCtrlActionBinding)valExp.getValue(elc);
    Map params = methodBinding.getParamsMap();
    params.put("label", "Some Title");
    params.put("taskFlowId", taskflowId);
    params.put("reuseInstance", true);
    methodBinding.invoke();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    To prove that this method works, we create a UI button on the page (which binds this method in PageDef.xml), and associate this method to onclick event. At runtime after page is opened, clicking on the button does launch the taskflow on new tab successfully.
    Do you happen to know what I do wrong in the beforePhase() method?
    Thanks
    -Phi

    The question is why do you want to show the URL?
    Faces apps don't change the url with each click (as the click might be going into a region).
    Can you give us a use case? Do you use bounded task flows?
    JDev version?

  • Differentiating HTTP Request through a URL and a value change listener

    Version Details:
    Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 1 11.1.1.4.0
    Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.4.0
    Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101227.1736.5923
    IDE Version: 11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    Product ID: oracle.jdeveloper
    Product Version: 11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    ADF Business Components     11.1.1.59.23
    Java(TM) Platform     1.6.0_21
    Oracle IDE     11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    Versioning Support     11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    Base Details:
    The Product, that a different team is working on (<i><b>which I cannot access, code, touch,...</b></i>), creates reports and essentially generates a URL with a bunch of parameters:
    http://<host>:<port>/myApplication/main.jspx?parameter1=value1&parameter2=value2...When the user clicks on an "Edit" button, a modal popup window is displayed (using jQuery) with an embedded iFrame with its source pointing to the above URL.
    The "myApplication" is an ADF application which brings up an ADF form based on the parameters. Once the user enters the data, validations occur and the data is written into a total of 3 different Tables in the Database. Once the operation is finished, the user closes the popup by clicking on the "X" button of the popup window, which essentially does "popup.*hide()*".
    Limitations:
    <li>Since there are varied combination of parameter values and associated ADF forms, taskflows is not* an option.
    <li>Since the logic of generating the ADF form is not straightforward, ADF BC is not* an option.
    <li>Since validations are based on the value change listeners, the managed bean has to be a session scope_ bean.
    Problem:
    When, for the first time, the user clicks on the Edit button with a particular set of parameter values, the corresponding ADF form is displayed and things work normal. Since the managed bean is under session scope, the form generated for the first popup window stays the same for any subsequent popup windows, even when the URL and its parameters are completely different. As I can not listen to the popup close event, I cannot invalidate my session either.
    I tried using filters in the web.xml to grab the request and apply the business logic. Due to the presence of multiple value change listeners (too many <tt>autosubmit=true</tt>), every value change listener triggers a request and so the business logic gets applied with every value change.
    After some tests, I deduced that the difference between the call from iFrame and the call from value change is the HTTP Request Method - GET for iFrame and POST for value change listener. So in my filter I apply the business logic when there is a GET request and not apply when its a POST request.
    Turns out, that is not a valid enough differentiation between the two requests being made. Sometimes, even the value change listeners are issuing a GET request.
    Question:
    *<font color="red">1</font>*. Is there a way to force the value change listeners to always trigger a POST request?
    *<font color="red">2</font>*. Is there a way to differentiate the requests originating from the other team's Product and those generated by my own value change listeners?
    *<font color="red">3</font>*. Is there a different approach, incorporating the above-mentioned limitations, to clear out the session scope each time when a request is made through iFrame? That is, whenever a request is made through the other team's Product?

    _(Temporary) Solution_:
    Summary:
    I am using the request parameter <b><tt>_adf.ctrl-state</tt></b> to differentiate between the HTTP requests that my application receives.
    Details:
    When I receive the request from the other team's Product, I receive a <tt>GET</tt> and a <tt>adf.ctrl-state</tt> value which I store into a local variable in my session-scoped managed bean. The <tt>adf.ctrl-state</tt> value stays the same for all requests (<tt>GET</tt> or <tt>POST</tt>) made from within my own application. It changes only when there is a new request from the other team's Product.
    Also, as my application is accessed through an iFrame, there is no possibility of the generated URL being modified by the end-user.
    For now it seems that the solution is appropriate but I am not fully confident if relying on the <tt>_adf.ctrl-state</tt> value is the best approach.
