URL cache problem in UCM and sitestudio

Hi ,
We have created Metadata Field : xPageName, and have configure an entry in config.cfg as SSUrlFieldName=PageName, Scenario is we have assigned abc.html to xPageName for a content item on suppose /oracle/cms1/ URL, by mistake we assigned abc.html to xPageName to another content item on suppose /oracle/cms2/ URL. Problem is abc.html is registered with two content item and on two URL's, and now we have changed it for /oracle/cms2/ URL to xyz.html, but when we hit /oracle/cms2/abc.html it is also served with blank page. Please suggest how we can get away with this ASAP.
Thanks,

That is definitely a limitation that each custom page name must be unique.
If think what you are saying is that you have resolved this issue but the URL is still taking you to the wrong page...
THis stuff is cached IIRC in some js files in the weblayout
Have you tried, clearing browser cache, recreating the navigation in SS Designer, or restarting UCM and webserver?

  • Caching problem in Chrome and Firefox

    Hey folks,
    I ran into a weird problem.  I created a video player based on the Strobe Media Playback.  I added a couple of plugins.  This player is used to watch progressive download FLV files.
    I ran into the following issue.  I watch part of a video.  I select another one.  Then I select the previous one again.  Only the cached portion of the first video is shown.  The entire video will not be downloaded again from the server, but only the portion already cached on the client.
    This problem is really bad in Chrome.  When I restart FF, I can watch the entire video.  Not in Chrome.  The only way to solve this in Chrome is to clear the cache.
    Any ideas?
    The website is live, so you can test this yourselve.  http://www.submergeproductions.com/videos.aspx
    All help very welcome, because this is a major issue.
    Follow up.  I made a quick fix.  I added a random number to the FLV url to force a redownload from the server, but this quite a dirty fix. I would rather have a restart/continuation of the download if the file was only partially downloaded.
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Hi Silviu,
    the reason why it works now is because I uploaded a modified version.  I append "?<random number> to the URL.  That prevents caching problems because the browser hasn't got the version cached.  But I still report it as a bug.

  • Cache problems in IE8 and FF3.5.4

    Hello,
    simple things first: Excuse my bad english, i´m from germany.
    My problem:
    Two weeks ago, i updated my PC. Everything is fine, except when playing videos,
    the system cache is rising fast until my browsers run very slow and the whole system stops/crashes.
    IE8 is running a bit more stable than Firefox 3.5.4.
    First thougt: Virus. I ran two scanners (Kaspersky and Antivir), then Ad-Aware. Nothing.
    Next steps: Hijackthis and ccleaner. Everything is fine. Problem still occurs.
    I´ve been around a couple of forums in the last weeks, nothing worked.
    I think it´s got something to do with flash, but can´t figure it out.
    Any Ideas?
    n4gel

    Problem solved?
    I´ve had some updates from Mozilla, Microsoft, whatever.
    Current Situation is:
    IE8 is ok. System Cache is fine.
    FF3.5.5 still down when trying to view Videos or using other Flash-related things.
    Is it possible that something in Flash is interfering with JAVA?
    This has been the last update today.
    Greetings,

  • Possible cache problem ftp scenario

    hello,
      we have the following scenario
      ftp -> ftp
      very simple, no integretation rep needed, interface -> none, namespace -> http://none
      just pick up the file and put it on another server
      strange thing is that the receiver uses for target directory the source directory of the sender to put the file
      could this be a cache problem, we cleared the cache but the problem remains
    regards,
    Michel

    Hi Michel,
    Very strange problem indeed.. not convinced this is a cache problem.. have you checked the cache overview in the Integration Directory ?
    If it is a cache problem, deleting, activating and recreating the ftp receiver could solve it.
    Using another receiver Business System/Service will surely avoid a cache problem, as an object with a completely different key will be created.
    Can you see the correct receiver channel being called in the Message Monitor ?

  • I recently had to swap out my iphone 4s and I am having problems restoring photos and videos from icloud.  I get a message on my phone that says " the URL you are requesting is not found on this server".  Pics and videos have been deleted too.

    I recently had to swap out my iphone 4s and I am having problems restoring photos and videos from icloud.  When I restored my phone from icloud, half of my pics and videos have been deleted, the pics that were restored on my phone are very blurry, and the videos won't play.  I get a message on my phone that says " the URL you are requesting is not found on this server".  I have erased and reset my phone twice, but every time I do it, more pics and videos are deleted.  I have backed up to icloud and iphoto, however, some of the pics are no longer on iphoto either.  Is there someway to get the videos to play on my phone again?  Make the photos not as blurry as they are now and to restore the pics and videos that have been lost?  I really would love to have them back, this phone is supposed to be the best and right now it doesn't seem to be.  Please help if you can.

    I too have noticed that once i restored from iCloud. Pictures blurry and videos wont play!
    Need help too!!

    Hi
    +"Is the replica truly read only?"+
    It should be. However I've come across a similar situation. At a site I support the local admin was creating users and editing passwords on the Replica rather than the Master. He kept getting the usual "dsDirectoryetc" errors but he persisted and eventually got the settings to 'take'. Querying the databases on both Master and Replica produced similar results to yours. It was difficult then to go back to the Master and 'redo' properly what he'd done as he'd not kept track of the changes he made. To 'fix' I simply demoted/repromoted the Replica which worked for me. Although time will tell if it turns out to be a permanent fix?

    Dear Members,
    I would request for help regarding setting of LD_LIBRARY_PATH in Oracle 11G Application server and web cache problem when any single text file edit and save the result should not be changed . it shows previous page result.
    *1. Where to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH in Oracle11g Application Server (10.3.0) ? [  like in 9ias we set in opmn.xml . ] Where is opmn.xml file in oracle11g or which files contained LD_LIBRARY_PATH?*
    *2. When we created program generated report it shows correct result after some changes in file and generate again it shows first means previous page result as it is not take changes in that file. Even we tried out side made one .text file and open edit and save. It's given same result. So What is the problem regarding it?*
    It is the matter of  Browser Cache or WEB Cache. Where is the settings of it?
    *3. How to connect database (oracle11g Release 2) through OCI driver?*
    Regards
    Vipul Patel

    If you're compiling it yourself, you should set the library path then. If not, you can try something like this:
    env DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH:/path/to/add-on-libraries orca ...
    but I'm not sure it will work.

  • Caching problem of servlet

    Hi guys
    We are facing this problem of caching within our project. The project aims to generate a html code to pick up some rich media ads details at random and displaying on the html file where the generated code is expected to be pasted. We developed two servlets, one which extracts the ads from the database randomly and then depanding on the ad type it calls the other servlet as src of an iframe, which in turn puts all code for displaying the rich media ads. The script which we are generating for the user to paste onto their pages is:
    <script LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" src="http://192.168.1.6:8080/advert_java/servlet/GetAdServlet?region=1&zone=1&type=nossi&cachevar=yes">
    </script>First servlet (GetAdServlet) returns the javascript statements and thus is called using this generated code. Now cotents of the iframe are supplied by the second servlet ie richMediaServlet. This servlet is called like
    iframeURL = fullHttpDir+"/servlet/RichMediaServlet?";
    iframeURL += "bannerCode="+ RNBanner (BannerCode to be called);
    out.println("document.write(\"<iframe  src='"  + iframeURL +  "' height=" + hheight +" width="+ wwidth + " SCROLLING=no FRAMEBORDER=0 MARGINWIDTH=2 MARGINHEIGHT=2 onfocus='window.focus(); return iframeFocus()'>\");");
    out.println("document.write(\"</iframe>\");");This richmediaServlet returns HTML into <iframe>. when richmediaservlet is called, a parameter 'bannerCode' is passed. then richmediaServlet fatches the banner from the database and displays the banner into the <iframe>.
    Now the problem comes when we run the html file containing the script tag mentioned above, and refresh our page, ideally it should pick the ads randomly and pass it on to RichMediaServlet.
    I also try debugging both servlets. I called the getadservlet from javascript mentioned above and put debugging info in both the servlets, now for every refresh we do on the html side, we are getting a different random bannercode in adservlet but in richmedia when we print the bannercode received in querystring it is taking an older value which was displayed some time back and keeps on doing this for quiet a long time, making it look like some caching problem of RichMediaServlet.
    Instead when we tried to put the same html <script> code into another servlet's doGet, everything seems to be working fine.
    i have also used the following code to prevent the caching on both the setvlets
    long currentTime = System.currentTimeMillis();
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache, must-revalidate");
    response.setHeader("Pragma", "no-cache");
    response.setDateHeader("Last-modified", currentTime);
    response.setHeader("Expires", "Sat, 6 May 1995 12:00:00 GMT");     and following in the iframe's head tag before the iframe tag in the getAdServlet.
    out.println("document.write('<head>');");
    out.println("document.write('<meta http-equiv=\"Cache-Control\" content=\"no-cache,must-revalidate\">');");
    out.println("document.write('<meta http-equiv=\"Pragma\" content=\"no-cache\">');");
    out.println("document.write('<meta http-equiv=\"Last-modified\" content=\""+ currentTime + "\">');");
    out.println("document.write('<meta http-equiv=\"expires\" content=\"Sat, 6 May 1995 12:00:00 GMT\">');");
    out.println("document.write('</head>');");I request you all geeks to try and help me to your best. The project is at its final stages and in high urgency now.

    i think the caching is being in the browser, with the iframe.
    You should try passing a random param to the servlet in the iframe URL, something like:
    var a = Math.random() * 10000000; //for example
    out.println("document.write(\"<iframe  src='"  + iframeURL +"&rand="+a+"' height=" + hheight +" width="+ wwidth + " SCROLLING=no FRAMEBORDER=0 MARGINWIDTH=2 MARGINHEIGHT=2 onfocus='window.focus(); return iframeFocus()'>\");");
    out.println("document.write(\"</iframe>\");");
    ...It should force the browser to ask for the servlet again
    hope this helps...

  • Caching problem with Internet Explorer

    Hi,
    users of an ApEx application I'm working on are reporting that when they're deleting an uploaded file from one of the pages in the application (using Internet Explorer), the link to the file remains. This is however not an issue in FireFox, and after some research I found out that this is a caching problem in IE. It can be avoided by making IE check for newer versions of stored pages every time a page is visited, but it is clearly not an option to ask all our users to do this. I also learned that it can be fixed by randomizing the file URL every time the page is loaded, but I don't know how to randomize a URL, nor how to make it still point to the uploaded file.. Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    -Kjetil

    Kjetil,
    This problem is also there if you use Flash Charts with a drilldown. See this posting:
    http://www.deneskubicek.blogspot.com/
    It will also link you to a corresponding thread and to an example in my demo application.
    The idea with a random number changing you link is the same I used in extending my

  • 'Content not working' problem on BBC and elsewhere

    Wonder if any kind and expert people could help here?
    System: Lenovo laptop, Win XP SP3 32bit, all updates installed. Main browser Firefox with add-ons including Adblock and Ghostery. Broadband via TalkTalk (after they bought up the original ISP I signed up for!) via a BT Business Hub router, usually connecting wirelessly. Comodo firewall installed, no other 'security' stuff running..
    Problems: started around 7/8/9ish Jan 2013 after working fine for ages. Not sure what triggered it - there were Windows, Acrobat and possibly a few other automatic updates going in around then, maybe also FireFox going to 18.
    Problem is with on demand video:
    BBC iPlayer - any show - spins for a bit then comes up "this content doesn't seem to be working"
    Error code - EMP v.3.0.0.r617463_618125_4  Playlist URL : http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/playlist/p012msym/ Error code :
    CDNRedundancyManagerError [0] : null
    BBC news website clips - any - spins for a bit then comes up "this content doesn't seem to be working"
    Error code  - same as iPlayer
    BBC radio player - says 'loading' for a bit then does nothing.
    ITVplayer - plays an ad then 'resume' button comes up but it won't play, 'resume' just reappears.
    Youtube - videos play but takes several seconds to start buffering, much slower than usual
    BUT video playing via e.g. Guardian website seems to work fine.
    I've tried googling CDNRedundancyManagerError and searching for any related problems, and then tried everything suggested, e.g. at
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4022210
    http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1939039.html
    but nobody seems to have an answer and all made no difference:
    - Broadband speed tests - these show around 2Mb/s as usual. Iplayer diagnostic showed the 'streaming 1' test at zero one time, but then it was around 2Mb/s like  the others on subsequent tests.
    - Cleared Firefox browser cache and history
    - Restarted FF in safe mode
    - checked 'allow third party storage' is on in Flash settings. Also tried it with and without hardware acceleration (right click in Flash player and also in Firefox options).
    - /etc/hosts file is original Windows one with no changes.
    - uninstalled Flash and reinstalled current Flash 11.5 (freshly downloaded)
    - Full clean uninstalled Flash as per Adobe instructions and reinstalled 11.5
    - Clean uninstalled and tried Flash Beta 11.6
    - Clean uninstalled then tried Flash 10.3
    - Then put 11.5 back on
    - Turned off firewall
    - In firewall, whitelisted Firefox and plugin container
    - Installed Chrome and tried that - exactly the same behaviour as Firefox.
    - Connected laptop to router via ethernet cable not Wifi
    - Tried another XP computer, connecting by wifi to the same router - same problem. Rarely use this machine so not sure how long it had the issue.
    - Tried a Windows 7 laptop connecting by wifi to the same router - works properly no problems!
    - On original laptop tried a system restore to a week ago when known working - system restore failed, 'no changes made to original system'.
    So, I'm a bit flummoxed.
    - Can't be the router as the Win7 laptop works OK.
    - Can't be the ISP throttling streaming video as the Win7 laptop works OK.
    - Can't be the Wifi on the XP machines as connecting by ethernet makes no difference.
    - Unlikely(?) to be Flash as the Chrome version has same problems as Firefox, and also installing various versions made no difference.
    - Not the firewall as turning it off makes no difference.
    - Not the Firefox add-ons as (a) turning them off in safe mode makes no difference and (b) Chrome also affected
    So what can it be? Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks in advance for any help. Will respond quickly with further info or results of further tests. Cheers Pete

    Good idea - but sadly there was no change in safe mode. I agree something in XP does sound like the culprit...
    I suspect it may be quite hard to reproduce - similar error reports from users are fairly thin on the ground, and I'd expect many more if all XP systems were affected. Everything also plays fine on an XP machine I have at work (different router and ISP, but it's got much the same software on and has had all the same updates).
    I'm in the UK BTW as you clearly guessed!
    As to a URL - just try any of the video clips on the BBC website or try playing anything via iPlayer - they all behave the same as far as I can tell. e.g.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21039157
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01pz9m7/Locomotion_Dan_Snows_History_of_Railways_Epi sode_1/
    both give the 'content not working' with CDN redundancy etc error just now. Incidentally several of the Google hits for that error were for people trying to access the BBC via various VPN services/proxies... wonder if that's an indication I'm running into some error whereby the BBC don't know I'm in the UK?
    for ITV player see e.g.
    https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/lewis/series-7/episode-2-down-among-the-fearful-part-2
    It prompted me for a location - either via me typing a postcode or letting the browser tell them the location. Choosing the latter came up 'unknown' so I had to enter the postcode...
    So I wonder if it's an issue whereby my IP address (or whatever) isn't being properly tied to a UK location. I would assume that's usually an ISP issue, although the fact that the Windows 7 machine works would seem to contradict this...
    Region is set as UK in the XP 'Regional and Language' control panel...
    Finally I've just noticed that another on demand service seems to be working OK: e.g.

  • ACL problem in 6 and 5.1 sp9? Bug?!

    Hi all gurus:
    I got this problem for several days, and still cannot solve it. Can
    anyone help me?
    My design is to put all my beans and connection pool under one "kbf"
    acl. And "guest" servlet/jsp accesses these beans by using this "kbf"
    account. And it works in 5.1 sp8.
    Then i tried to use sp9. The very first time when jsp is compiling
    by WLS, all the jsps work correctly! After that, immediately click the
    link again, it throws jndi exception. Saying "guest" no permission to
    access "kbf" jndi. But my "guest" actually is a servlet/jsp running
    inside the server.
    So then we tried to use 6 sp2, to see whether we can solve the
    problem. And the funny things come out as follows.
    I just click my URL link in browser, first time everything is fine,
    my data is shown correctly. second time it throws ACL exception ,saying
    guest no right to look up my JDBC pool. Click again, the data comes out
    again. Clieck again throws same exception. It is a "toggle".
    And, for another jsp page/link, (it gets data from two tables),
    first time both two tables data are shown. Click some other link, then
    come back to click this link, only one table data is shown, then click
    this link again, both are shown. It is also a "toggle", slightly
    different.
    Something really funny going on for this ACL!
    Can anyone in BEA tell me more about this ACL issue? Why always
    nobody cares to answer these ACL questions? Both in ejb group and
    security group?
    Or simply nobody is using ACL in their project?
    Or i missed out something important? or i am abusing ACL?
    Or is it a bug?
    Since we are going to production very soon, i need the solution
    ASAP. Right now i only have two solutions:
    1. stick to 5.1 sp8.
    2. grant "guest" permission to all my beans, connection pool, which
    means no use for the ACL at all.
    Hope someone at least give me an hint. And sorry for the crossing
    post.
    Thanks.
    minjiang

    Thanks a lot!
    The problem is that i cached the ejb homes and connection pool. So now i use
    your first solution, create context everytime, although the performance may be
    slow down.
    But strange, it works in 5.1 sp6-8.
    Thanks again, Dimitri!

    The security context is associated with thread so, for example:
    in a servlet, you create InitialContext as "user" and save it.
    Next request which will be "guest" anyway.
    So, if you want authentication, you can either
    - create InitialContext everytime
    - use j2ee security so container will do this automatically:

    Hi Dimitri:
    Sorry to mail you directly.
    I have this question for quite some time. And not receive any
    response for my posting, cross posting.
    Do you have any idea why my deployment works on 5.1 sp8, but not on
    sp9 and 6 sp2?
    I noticed bea changed the weblogic.ejb.interal.StatefulEJBObejct,
    and StatefulEJBCache in sp9, and this is part of why my application
    cannot work. (for one facade session bean looking up other beans in
    another acl)
    Another part is i described in the forward posting, for my "guest"
    jsp/servelt cannot access other acl?
    For my understanding, since my facade bean and jsp/servlet only run
    inside the WLS server, so as long as the correct credential is supplied
    while constructing the jndi context, they should be allowed, right? It
    shoud not be only one credential in one thread, which seems WLS is doing
    now.
    Thanks for help, and any hint or document is appreciated.

  • LoadSound IE cache problem

    I see there are a lot of postings on this topic, however I
    haven't found any resolutions that are working for me. Here is the
    situation. I have a main movie, that loads external .swfs and plays
    in a linear way, much like a slide presentation. There are back and
    forward buttons, that go from one slide to the next. In each
    external .swf I am loading an mp3 dynamically as an event sound in
    the first frame. Here's an example of the AS:
    this.my_sound = new Sound();
    this.my_sound.loadSound("screen2.mp3", false);
    this.my_sound.onLoad = function(){
    my_sound.start();
    gotoAndPlay(2);
    This all works fine when I upload the files, clear my cache,
    and go to the URL. When I refresh the browser, it stops working.
    When I use the forward or backward buttons, it also stops working.
    Pretty much any time I try to revisit this external swf after it
    initially plays, it won't play at all. I'm assuming this has
    something to do with the cache. It's only an IE problem so far as I
    can see. I don't have this problem in Firefox. I've tried giving
    the mp3 a different extension. Doesn't work. I've tried moving all
    the AS to the second frame. Doesn't work. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated.
    Thanks.

    inlineblue and Tracy,
    Came across this post while looking for a solution for the
    cache problem. I am using Flex 2.0.1.
    Q1) From what I understood is adding a parameter to the
    AC_FL_RunContent("src", "MainMod?version1.1",...) call in the HTML
    wrapper will make sure the latest content is downloaded to the
    browser. Does this mean when the next time my MainMod.mxml is
    changed, I need to make this V1.2.
    Q2) I only saw one occurance of AC_FL_RunContent call in my
    wrapper where it is referring my SWF file. This is the only place I
    need to keep changing whenever the mxml file is changed?
    Q3) Looks like I have to change all Wrapper files (if I have
    multiple .mxml files in my project). Is there any we can automate
    this?
    Do you have a sample that I could take a look at to
    understand what needs to be changed to fix the issue?
    Appreciate your help.

  • [help] Flash cache problem?

    Operating Environment: IIS6+ASP.Net 2.0+Flash
    Framework / Procedure:
    When running, Flash will run ASP.NET program. ASP.NET then
    extracts data from the database and generates a XML file for Flash.
    Flash reads the XML file and parse it into a readable format
    for the users.
    Problem:
    When Flash displays the XML content and user leaves/exits the
    webpage, this process creates a change in the database.
    Then if this Flash function is executed again, ASP.NET
    generates a new XML file, but Flash still displays the old XML
    content.
    We discovered that when IE's "Temorary Internet Files"
    setting is set to AUTO, the above problem would occure, we suspect
    this is related to IE cache.
    Is there any way to resolve this Flash cache problem?

    Did you try returning the XML via an ASP script?
    In other words have the ASP generate an ASP wrapper that
    returns XML.
    Then if necessary, you can then add a random URL var to the
    Flash XML load url variable. "theXMLWrapper.asx?x=" +

    tip I've got is that it must be connected with the kind I do include my JSF-pages.
    When I use <%@file="sub.jsp"%> my pages are are represent right. When I use <jsp:include page="Sub.jsp" /> or <c:import url="Sub.jsp" /> ( mark: the usage of flush="true" or flush="false" doesn't matter )
    my pages are represent wrongly.
    The usage of tags like f:facet or f:verbatim were also included but didn't point to an solution.
    I searched the whole Sun Developer Forum and some other web-sites for any solution for my problem but the given hints and clues didn't help. Now I'm trying to post my problem directly in Sun's Forum in hope to get help.
    My environment is the following:
    JAVA JDK 1.5 Update 4
    Tomcat 5.5.9
    JSLT 1.1
    Sun JSF 1.1
    Win 2K

    Hello Zhong Li,
    many thanks for your post, but it didn't work.
    My problem is that the JSF-Components im my included or imported
    JSP-Pages does not accept any kind of style or styleClass for
    designing. The components take over the informations for colors
    but not for alignment.
    When I take a look at the generated JAVA-Source in $TOMCAT/WORK/WEBAPP for my sub.jsp ( sub.java )
    it seems that the resulting HTML-page would be presented correctly.
    But later when I start the application via Firefox or Mozilla the html-sourcecode is totally wrong.
    In my example I create a simple grid with 2 rows and 2 columns.
    Both columns contains JSF-Outtext-Components and are included with div-tags.
    The generated Sub.java shows that the text would be setted in the div-tags. Unfortunately the html-sourcecode represented by my browser shows that jsf-text is not setted in the tags but in the <h:form> tags. The div-tags are neither rounded by <h:form> nor containing the JSF-OutText-Components.
    Any clue?
    Many thanks Benjamin

  • Clear cache problem

    Hi,
    I'm using Apex 3.1 and I've created a branch on a page using the following url I found in the documentation:
    f?p=6000:6003:&APP_SESSION.::NO:6003:MY_ITEM:1234
    This should clear cache on page 6003 from app 6000, set MY_ITEM to 1234 and return to the same page.
    Apex interpreted the link and put page 6003 in the clear cache box of the branch's properties. For now all sounds great, the only problem is, that it doesn't actually clear the cache. The url appears in the browser except for the page before the item setting, so it doesn't clear any page caches.
    Is this a bug or is there an option I'm missing?
    Thank you,
    Marc

    Marc,
    Could you be a little more clear on what you are trying to do?
    if you use the following url for example:
    f?p=6000:6003:&APP_SESSION.::NO:6004,6014
    this will take you to page 6003 in application 6000 and clear the cache for pages 6004 and 6014. if you are finding items with values populated, most likely that they are being set by some process after the cache has been cleared.
    Also, how are you checking if the cache for the other pages have been cleared? Have you confirmed that you are not populating the items on these other pages as you are are navigating to that page?
    Use the session link on the developer toolbar immediately after you make you original navigation to clear the cache to check the relevant pages - you should expect to see that they have been cleared in most cases (unless there is a process that is resetting the values)
    Also, just to check/confirm - the syntax is page numbers as in 1,2,3 not P1,P2,P3
