URL for Portal

Hi All,
Is it possible to find out the link/URL of the portal applications (for example UME or GRC) from the ABAP system. We have a test system but need to know the URL. Please help
Thanks
Vijaya

Vijaya,
The URL for portal on ABAP+JAVA system follows the convention
http://<hostname>:5<xx>00/irj/portal              ---> This links to portal
http://<hostname>:5<xx>00                          -
> This links to default Page of java
On the default page you will get options to go to UME and other options.

    LSO -- where in configuration do you enter URL for portal / corses

    Hi Matt,
    Another address not mentioned in the other posts is the CMS address where your courses are physically stored. In the IMG you will find it here:
    Training & Event Management - SAP Learning Solution - Learning Portal - Content Player - Specify CMS Address
    Enter the appropriate http: address beside the setting CPCFG/RSURL
    Once a learner clicks to launch a course from the portal, the system will go find the appropriate course in the CMS directory and then find the Content Plyer address previously mentioned to launch the course.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello ,
    We are running EP 7 SP 13.
    We had a problem with the j2ee engine going down due to a db problem .It is ok now and and j2ee is up and running fine and the portal is accessible from the intranet.
    But there is a problem with the https url that we use for internet access. It gives "page cannot be displayed error".
    There is a IISproxy in place for internet access.Https certificate has not expired. Couldnt find much in the portal logs and trace or am I looking in the wrong place?
    Any help would be most appreciated.

  • Url alias for portal

    Hi All,
    I am new to this portal
    Can anybody suggest me a way to create alias for my portal.
    i want to access my portal using <b>http://<servername>:<port>/sapportal</b>         without using <b>http://<servername>:<port>/irj/portal</b>
    regards,
    prasanthi o.

    irj/portal will come as default with portal
    if u want remove this irj/portal u can remove but u can't replace with sapportal
    if u want to access certain iview or pages directly u can use quick links option
    Quick links are shortcuts to iViews and pages. Each quick link is a string that you add to the default portal URL in order to navigate to a specific iView or page.
    Quick links provide a meaningful name for iViews and pages to which users may want to navigate.
    Procedure
    1.     Enable Short URLs
    a.     Go to System Administration-->Navigation --> Short URLs
    b.     Choose True (default) in the Use Short URLs drop list menu
    c.     Choose Save Configuration
    2.     Define Quick Links
    a.     Go to Content Administration --> Portal Content ->Folder --> iViews (i.e. Content Administration à Portal Content à My Folder à iViews à SAP News)
    b.     Double-click SAP News to edit the iView
    c.     Choose Navigation from the Property Category drop list menu.
    d.     Enter a name for the Quick Link. (i.e. News)
    e.     Choose Save.
    f.     Choose Close.
    g.     Add the object to a role if necessary.
    h.     Repeat steps a to go to create more Quick Links.
    3.     View a Quick Link or Short Navigation URL in the Portal.
    a.     Enter the link to your portal and append the Short Navigation URL or Quick Link. to the URL
    (For example, http://myServer:50000/irj/portal/News)

  • Portal Url for BI Statistics - Urgent

    Hi,
    We have BI System and all statistics cubes installed.Can anyone let me know what is the standard URL in portal or where exactly can i find the information about this.
    Thanks,
    Arvind M

    Hi Arvind,
    I am not clear what exactly what are you looking for. Default url fro portal server will be
    http(s)://<server_name>.domain.com:50000/irj
    you need to have a authorized user to user this. Are you planning to host BI reports on Portal, then you need to have content and system admin roles. Check this with your Basis consultant. They will provide you required access.
    You need to create a BI system in Portal and then create iview for BI reports.
    Check this for further details

  • Generate URL to Portal Objects in Web Dynpro

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where in I have to generate a URL to portal objects such as iviews/pages from the PCD. I am able to retrieve the PCD contents but I am not able to generate the URL dynamically.
    I cannot use WDPortalNavigation.absoluteNavigate method, since I need the URL of the object.
    IUrlGenerator can be used, but it is asking for the IPortalComponentRequest object. Now where can I get this object in web dynpro.
    Or is there a way to generate the URL of the iview/page dynamically in Web Dynpro. I have to use standard API only.
    Please provide inputs on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Use the below url
    /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2f<yourfolder ID>!2f<if any subfolder id>
    !2fcom.abc.xyz
    where com.abc.xyz is the ID of the xyz iview/page
    Use that url in your webdynrpo

    Why do we have to create a new user for the server which is consuming the web service? We already have an user "ADSUser" defined for the Web AS server which has ADS services deployed.
    I have opened this thread to solve the previous unanswered question I posted on SDN Empty area in place of Interactive form. .
    One more thing the adobe print forms of ESS [Total Compensation Statement and Salary Statement] are rendering properly, only the ones with Interactive ability or not.
    thanks,
    Sanketh

    Hello Sanketh,
    1. To access the NW04s configuration guide,
        - Go to https://service.sap.com/adobe
        - On the left frame (tree), under Adobe > Media Library > Documentation
        - On the right had pane you will find the link to the NW04s Configuration guide
    2. The link that you have mentioned below details the steps required to be carried out on the client machine that consumes the Adobe Document Services. In our case that is the j2ee engine on which your Web Dynpro application is running. It could be the same physical machine with two different j2ee instances hosting Web Dynpro and ADS or it could be two different physical machine or a single machine having a single instance of j2ee engine hosting both the Web Dynpro and the ADS.
    You do not have to create a separate username and a password on the consuming machine but you need to configure the Web Service client proxy to point to the ADS (maybe hosted on a different machine) with the username and the password created on the ADS server. As you have mentioned, you have already created such an user on the ADS (ADSUser). This user authentication on the client machine (consuming server - Web Dynpro) would be required at the runtime by the j2ee engine to authenticate itself with the ADS.
    Best Regards,
    Krish

    Hello,
    We need to configure SSL for Portal Server. We are using J2EE 6.20 Patch 25 and EP6SP2P4. The ITS is already using https and it creats lots of Session issues since Portal is not in https.

    Hi Marcel,
    Thanx for your Post, I have a Question, we will use CISCO for load balancing and SSL termination but I have a big issue, the URL in the portal applciation is always the same ant the URL in the borwser, I guess al the other URL´s are in the Frames, how will we configure the SSL termination for the login page in example if the URL in the Browser appears always the same?

  • Url for a page group

    I can get the groups that a current member belongs to like the following:
    User user = new User(ctx, Util.IDTYPE_DN, userDn, mysub, false);
    String [] groupAttrs = {"displayName","owner"};
    Group [] groups = user.getGroupMembership(ctx, groupAttrs, false);
    String[] groupsList=new String[groups.length];
    for(int i=0;i<groups.length;i++){
    PropertySetCollection properties = groups.getProperties(ctx,groupAttrs);
    PropertySet set = properties.getPropertySet(0);
    Property name = set.getProperty("displayName");
    groupsList[i]=(String)name.getValue(0);
    return groupsList;
    This will return the result to a jsp page and then the jsp will render the result like:
    <table width="100%" border="0">
    <%
    for(int i=0;i<groups.length;i++){%>
    <%="<tr><td><a href=\"/portal/page/portal/\""+groups[i]+">"+groups[i]+"</a></td></tr>"%>
    <%
    %>
    </table>
    all this is within a portlet to display the groups a user belong to. The user should be able to click on the links and then redirected to that particular page. The question is how to get the url or the part of the url for the group. I read many posts about using undocumented procedures/tables like wwpob_page_util and page$. Is there a supported way to do this with the java apis and maybe with a plsql packages. Thank You

    Tom this is fantastic - thank you. I took your advice and purchased a domain name from godaddy.com ($9) and it is already forwarding to may .mac web page.
    The only question I have is that I masked my domain name so that the browser always shows my group name (vs showing my .mac user name on the url). The only problem with that is that the same domain name 'jpmensgroup.com' shows up on every page of that site. Is there a way to include the names for the various pages so each one has its own address. such as jpmensgroup.com/events or jpmensgroup.com/photos etc?
    Thanks again. I bet you have to answer this question quite alot! But I am thankful that you do!
    Best,
    Bob

  • How to create a new solution for portals?

    Hi all,
    In order to makde goinglive sesions for portals, I´ve updated SAP Solution Manager (SSM) to 7.0 EHP1-SP19.
    Portals have two servers:
    - Win 2003 for main application (NETWEAVER 7.0 2004s)
    - HPUX 11.23 for database (Oracle 10.2.0.2.0)
    I haven´t worked with solution manager until this update, and of course, I haven´t configured before.
    I´ve a mix of terms, possible configurations:
    - run SOLMAN_SETUP transaction after update ¿?
    -  install SMD ¿?
    - install/configure SLD (we haven´t configured) ¿?
    - create new solution, system components, logical components,...
    I´ve tried to create a server, database, system, but I don´t know what is the right procedure.
    I´ve seen that there is a transaction called "SOLMAN_SETUP" that I suppose I´ve have to run to configure the new version, but the EWAs configured before de update, runs properly.
    Do you know the steps as more detailed as possbible to create the new solution for portals after update?
    Does any of this steps/procedure impact into our configured and running EWAs and Goinglive sesions?
    Thanks in advance.
