URL iView only works in seperate Window

Hi Everybody,
i have store a html file under KM-Content. The problem is that i can not open the file with an URL-iview in the portal content area but in a seperate window. So when i choose the property: Launch in a new window = Display in portal content area i get the error access denied ( this message appears in the left bottom of my browser window, i have to click on a small icon to get the protocol with this message) and by choosing = Display in a seperate window it works fine.
The permission for the KM-Content folder is Everyone.

Try this,
Remove html, head and body tags from the html file.

In my WD4A application, I called the method 'navigate_absolute' to display a URL iView in a new External window.
The code is as follows:

The application can display the iView in the same Window (navigation_mode = '0'), but cannot in a new External window (navigation_mode = '1').
In the iView properties, the following attributes are set to:
1. Launch in New Window - Dipslay in Separate Window
2. Open iView Links in New Window - Yes

Yes it's MS Windows! You will need a license of MS Windows (preferable Windows 7) and from there you can decide on the strategy for running Windows on your iMac. You can use Boot Camp (you already have this) or you use virtualization software such as Parallels or Fusion. For your situation I'd recommend virtualization software. However for only one program I'd do some due diligence to see if there is a OS X version. You can start with the App store or simply use Google to search.

Airdrop only works with Airdop window open

I have Airdop running on two computers. But it only works when both computers have the Airdop window open. That is stupid. When somebody wants to send you something he can't see your computer when the Airdop window is closed. If Apple means this as a "do not disturb function" it would be done better with a switch. I don't like to have windows open.

Sorry, but I have to agree with the OP. There should be a switch, and perhaps the default for that switch should be as you stated, however it would be great to have the option there.
And anyway, with file sharing on (like most Macs on my uni network have, see attached), you can put anything in their drop boxes at any time. Airdrop is a simplified version of this, so why not have an always on option as well?
Waiting for a clever person to come up with hack. Perhaps it drains battery life in terms of the ad hoc feature of Airdrop. I dunno.

URL Checker - only working sometimes?

}But it's only working for some addresses and not others. For example, if I use a page that actually exists (e.g. www.facebook.com) I get an OK which is correct then a sub-page of this site which doesn't exist (e.g. www.facebook.com/sgboegoeb) I get a 'Not OK' which is also correct.
BUT if I use a URL which doesn't exist at all (e.g. www.lgnwpo.com) I get back a 200 response code and an OK. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Am I getting redirected to a genuine page or something?

Plain Text URL links not working in the Windows 8 Mail App for only one account.

I just started using a Surface Pro, and randomly one of the accounts I have setup in the "Modern" Mail app stopped parsing the pain text URL path that was included in them. Specifically links to forum discussions. I have 4 other Win
8 devices and they display the links fine.
More confusing is this issue happens ONLY with my O365 mail account and only on one PC. I have an Outlook.com account and it renders the pain text URL as a clickable link, but when I send the same email to my O365 account it just shows up as
text, no link generated. All in the same Windows 8 Mail App.
I ran the Windows 8 App Troubleshooter, I've reinstalled the Mail app, I've removed and re-added the mail account. Nothing fixes this. Anyone know why?

Same problem for us, the link is also not rendered, if the mail is sent to an on-premise Exchange server.
Its only for plain-text messags, HTML-messages work fine.
Why is this problem ignored? The app is useless with that limitation.

I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion and now some CDs I use for school do not work. Can I create a partition to run both Snow Leopard and LIon or does it only work to run windows? How do I do this?

Getting a new CD from publisher is not an option as they would want me to pay for a new one and they are pricey. If possible I would prefer to keep my upgrade to lion but would go back to leopard if there's no other option.

You can add another partition on which you can install Snow Leopard. If you do, however, you cannot use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows. Just so you know.
To resize the drive do the following:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired new volume's size. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed. (Note: You can only make a partition smaller in order to create new free space.)
4. Click on the [+] button below the sizing window to add a new partition in the gray space you freed up. Give the new volume a name, if you wish, then click on the Apply button. Wait until the process has completed.
You should now have a new volume on the drive.
It would be wise to have a backup of your current system as resizing is not necessarily free of risk for data loss. Your drive must have sufficient contiguous free space for this process to work.
Boot from your Snow Leopard DVD and install on the volume you just created. Be sure you set the new partition as the target for your Snow Leopard system.

Internet only works on the windows side of my bootcamped mac

I have a bootcamped 2012 macbook pro running os x 10.8.5. My issue is it says that I'm connected to the internet but everything that requires internet will not load. Web pages go about 20% of the way before it stops. This is occurring on any wifi I try to connect to, not just my home internet. I have ran diagnostics as well and it tells me nothing is wrong. When I switch over to windows 8 everything works perfectly fine. I can't figure out what the problem could be.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Tabs keep opening on their own even though I only work in new windows.

Since the last Thunderbird update I'm having trouble with random(?) emails opening in tabs, even though I don't use tabs. It's annoying to have to keep closing all these tabs that I didn't open and don't even use in any way. It's a distraction. I'd just disable the tabs bar altogether if that was possible, but I guess it's not an option.
In Tools-Options-Advanced-Reading&Display, I have selected "Open messages in - a new message window", as it's been for a long time. When I click on an email, that setting works normally. I've read that double-clicking an email can cause it to open in a tab, but I can't reproduce that behavior, so I don't believe that's the cause. When I notice the random open tabs, its usually right after starting up Thunderbird for the day. There are usually three open email tabs. I don't leave emails open when I close the program at night - I just haven't figured out a pattern or cause for this annoying behavior. Seems like a bug to me, and I can't seem to stop it from happening. Any ideas?

Update to graphics only working when maximise window

Hi folks, I'm trying to put together a java application but have run into trouble with a JPanel that displays graphics.
The JPanel is inside of a JScrollPane, which is itself inside of a larger panel in the main JFrame. The JPanel inside of the scrollPane displays some graphics depending upon what is stored in an arraylist that it keeps. What I would like is for the image to be updated when the user adds or changes one of the elements in this arraylist (the user does this by pressing buttons).
Presently, I have it so that when for example the user adds to the arraylist, the repaint() method is called after this addition. However, the image is not changed unless the JFrame itself is maximised (then it appears as I want it). Obviously I would rather it updated without this! :-)
I have experimented with the various paint, repaint, and validating methods to no avail, but I'm hoping this is a problem that has cropped up with people before.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Sure can. The inner most panel is a chart that increases in size when you add to it. Each row of the chart has a description and a bar (kinda like a gantt chart).
taskList is the arraylist.
getBarLocation is a method that returns the x-position of the bar depending on the date of the task

Problem with JavaScript in URL iView

I am facing a problem with javascript when i am trying to access my application through URL iView. In the javascript window.top is used to access the frames in the window. But the EP is not recognizing it as valid. what exctly the problem and please suggest me a solution.

thanks for the quick reply. But what i asked was different. I will put it in different way. I have deployed a application in Web Application Server and trying to access it through URL iView. My application is pure J2EE application with html,jsp and JS files. In javascript we used window.top property of the java script which is working fine MS IE. The problem is window.top is a IE specific property which is not having any equallent open standerd so EP is throwing a java script error. As I know the only possible solution for this problem is inherating IE rendaring capabilities to iView(i.e iFrame). is there any way to do that?

How to set dynamic host name in the URL of a URL iView?

Hello,
I am using a standard URL iView that points to some J2EE app I've written and deployed on the same server.
I would like to set the host name to be a dynamic one, this way I won't need to change the iView URL when transporting it from one portal to another. As far as I know the system for a URL iView only controls authorizations but cannot replace the full URL set in the iView.
Any idea who can this be achieved?

forced URL at runtime will require me to call the URL iView from another iView that I will need to code (setting the URL in the Request object). If I did all this I might as well call it from this iView already.
I would like to do it with no further developments. I would have thought that SAP has constants that can be plugged in the URL for this type of thing, i.e. $hostname...

Synchronization only works with Administrator user

I've been using Blackberry Desktop Software for about 18 months to synchronize organizer data held in Microsoft Outlook 2010, under Windows XP Professional SP3, via a USB connection.
I recently upgraded the BB desktop to v7.1.0 B42. In order to get a functional installation, I needed to remove the previous version and all associated data, and reinstall from scratch. After this, synchronization only works when the Windows account has Administrator privileges. This is true for both USB and Bluetooth connection.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I believe I do have it setup for all users - the printer shows up in "print setup utility" for the other accounts. When I get home I'll go ahead and reinstall the Stylus C86 driver.
Since I'm at work, I attempted to print to a network printer I also have installed - I get the same error when I print from the other admin account (not mine) or the managed user account.
Here's another tidbit: From the other admin account I navigated to the CUPS interface (127.0.0.1:631) and was able to successfully print a test page from there.
Could this be some kind of user permission issue?

Unable to login into url iview on portal

Hi,
I have created a url iview which works fine when I preview (after login) it but when I open it in portal under a defined role it stops at the login step. I have tried the same login which I used for previewing the iview but it doesn't go beyond the login screen.Kindly help.

If it is working in mozila, then it might be IE8 is not compatible for your portal server version.
Please check the product availability matrix in the service market place for browser compatibility.

URL iView doesn't open link in new window

Hi All,
I'm have an URL iView that I want to display in the portal content area but whenever the user clicks on a hyperlink on that iView launch a new window for the link.
I've tried using the 'Open iView links in new window' without any success. Is this supposed to work or this property is for another purpose...? Can someone point me to a solution.

I checked what you said. I've already looked at that page but didn't saw that important disclaimer. My problem was that I didn't had a captured area-URL iView but a full page-URL iView as it says:
+These properties are relevant in the following instances only:
§ The iView content is displayed in its source format. The rendering type must be defined as Keep Source Formatting. See Defining the Look and Feel of the iView Content.
§ The iView content displays a captured area, and not the entire Web page. See Selecting the Capture Area.+
I only had to change the 'Open iView links in new window' to Yes after capturing a part of my page and it started working.
