Url link in User Decision workflow step

Hi Experts,
I had created a workflow for "Employee transfer" process using SWDD tcode.
I had a created a workflow step with type as "User Decision".I had included "Approve" & "Reject" decision options.
Now i want to include URL link along with "Approve" & "Reject" in the user decision workflow step (i.e) The manager needs to see the URL link along with "Approve" & "Reject" in his SAP workflow inbox.
Can anyone guide me...
Regards,
Krishna Balaji T

Hi Krishna,
I understand your issue. I have faced a similar issue in my project.
Here is the solution!
To add link of a URL you need to have the binding with the BO of the transaction your are refering to. To do this, you need to bind your BO event (triggering event) to the workflow container and then the workflow container to task container. This BO value should flow from event-> workflow -> task container to get the link in the User Decision.
To do the binding you need to follow the following steps:
1. Go to t-code SWDD and open your workflow template.
2. Go to Basic Data (cap sign button at the top of the screen) or click Ctrl + F8
3. Go to Start Events tab.
4. In the Object type enter your BO name (BO for the transaction you need to add as link), in Event of object enter the BO event. This would serve as the triggering event for your workflow.
5. Click on 'B' i.e. Binding Defined, click on generate automatic binding. It would automatically generate the appropriate binding for the workflow. You can also alter the binding as per requirement. This binding would ensure that the URL comes under 'objects and attachments' section.
6. Click on 'C' i.e. Start Condition. A dialog would open, select the appropriate start condition for the workflow. Check the condition before saving (recommended).
6. Click on 'A' to Activate the binding and start condition. All 'A', 'B' and 'C' would get green.
7. Save the changes made and activate your workflow.
8. Do the binding between the workflow and the user decision step. Select automatic binding (recommended).
You can also refer to the similar thread that I had provided solution to. This would help you resolve the issue!
Re: URL of site has to be attached along with the mail
Hope this helps!

  • Link in User Decision step not showing correctly in UWL

    Hi SAP Experts,
I have a requirement to add a link in a user decision step, this link triggers a custom webdynpro for additional input. When I access the workitem from Business Workplace, the link is showing fine. But when I execute the workitem in UWL, the link is not displayed, instead the code is shown (<a>...</a>). Please advise on what I should do to have the link working. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
This same thing was just recently discussed. I just cannot find the thread anymore (well, in that thread there was not really any solution). Basically the hyperlinks in work item do not seem to work in UWL as they should. I don't know if there are any way to make them work. My suggestion is to not use the hyperlink at all and replace that with an action (=button) to the task in the UWL. This can be achieve quite easily by simple XML configuration in portal. If you have worked with UWL this should be quite straightforward for you, or if there is a consultant at the site, who is familiar with UWL, this should be simple for him/her.

  • Attaching HTTP Links for User Decisions?

    hi all,
how can we attach HTTP Links along with User Decisions. i have previously attached Business Objects as links along with approve/reject button but this time I need to attach a HTTP link.
    Points will be awarded.

    hi ravi,
the basic requirement for me is that the frontend is going to be Webdynpro Pages controlled with a workflow in the backend. say if a personnel submits a form, it has go to the person's manager for approval.
So while approving it, if incase he wants to see the approval information, he would click on the URL which comes with the User Decision. this is the precise requirement.
Regarding Javascript code, where can we write the java code for URL's. is there any standard template which follows the same requirement.

  • URl link of record in workflow email

    Hi,
any one know how to send a URL of a record to a user in am workflow email?

This is a link to an Opty record on the DSA pod:
    https://secure-ausomxdsa.crmondemand.com/OnDemand/user/OpportunityDetail?OpptyDetailForm.Id=ABJA-XXXXXX
To reuse this for any other record type or another system do the following:
Open a record that you want to link to i.e. SR for DSA Demo and you get this URL at the top
    https://secure-ausomxdsa.crmondemand.com/OnDemand/user/ServiceRequestDetail?ServiceRequestDetailForm.Id=HU15-XXXXX&OMTGT=ServiceRequestDetailForm&OMTHD=ServiceRequestDetailNav&OMRET0=ServiceRequestHomepage&OCTYPE=Other&ocTitleField=Abstract&ocTitle=Send+copy+of+Annual+Report&ocEdit=Y
As you can see the URL starts the same except it references ServiceRequestDetail instead of Opty detail.
From the OnDemand screen copy everything from http:// to ServiceRequestDetail? ServiceRequestDetailFormID= and paste it into your workflow email.
Click the Fx button and add the Row ID.
Voila you now have a link in an email that will open the record that triggered the workflow.

    <$wfSet("conditionalApprover", "contributor1")$>
    <$wfSet("type", "user")$>
    <$wfAddUser(wfGet("conditionalApprover"), wfGet("type"))$>

    Dear Ramesh,
    Need your help!
While creating travel expense request from Enterprise Portal, travelers create few attachments [pdf/doc/xms/txt] and then save the travel expense reports.
A workflow then gets triggered and this travel expense report reached the SAP Inboxes of the checkers [in the finance department].
The issue here is that these checkers do not have access to enterprise portal and they expect to see the attachments [that the traveler has created via the portal] via corresponding work items in their SAP Inboxes u2013 which currently is not happening!
I checked the trip transaction that got created [in the backend / in SAP] and found the u2018attachment listu2019 menu option in GOS being disabled [may be because there is not even one attachment that has come to the backend!]
What needs to be done so that the attachments can even be viewed from the backend / from SAP Inbox?  Does this involve coding?
    Please suggest!

  • "You can also" link in UWL work item when using user decision step in workflow

    Hi,
Just want to check if anybody has tried adding links to this section in the UWL when using user decision step? I need to pass some custom links which will be calling some webdynpro applications and backend transactions. I have read somewhere that Ineed to modify the XML file but don' t know how the next steps once I have defined (i.e. how to handle those links).
    Thanks in advance.
    Rammel

    Hi Rammel
I hope you are keeping well and many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums .
Based upon your scenario you mentioned that:
You want to add links to the "You Can Also" section in the UWL with user decision steps
In an effort to pass custom links (calling web dynpro) applications.
You wish to know how to modify the XML
Ok now based upon the scenario there are two key points regarding XML files and efforts to change them.
Remember that XML in terms of the UWL follow the notion of precedence. Now that means that once you make a change to an XML file you need to re-upload it to realize changes. To re-upload an XML file and realized changes you need to do so with a "High" or "Very High" priority and also ensure that the UWL Cache has been cleared of the UWL Service restarted so changes can be realized.
The second key point is to ensure that you backup all current XML files before making any changes so you can easily revert those changes if required.
Now reverting back to your query, the XML files and the "You Can Also" section. Kindly see the documentation outlined below as here you are going to make changes to the I-View configuration:
    Configuring the UWL
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a3461636-0301-0010-3787-978f5ac8bd45?overridelayout=t…

  • User Decision Step Link

    Dear Experts,
I have created a custom application, in which I have to trigger the workflow. I have created a workflow and this workflow is being called through application using FM: WAPI_START_WORKFLOW. In this workflow there is a user decision step. I want to create a link of application's "change screen" in the user decision step. As I don't have BO object in this workflow; So how should I create the link of change screen?
    Regards,
    Sohail

    Hi Sohail
Starting a workflow using SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW is not a preferred option ; instead use events to trigger the workflow by using SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT - It gives better tracking capability as well as options for queuing.
Coming to your question, Business Object is required, you can not only create a method to display the change screen, but also provide attachments etc....a lot more is possible if you have business object instantiated.

  • URL in user decision step

    Dear Experts,
I am using ecc4.7 version system. I have a user decision step. I want to display an url in objects and attachments section of user decision step. Ofcourse I found many similar threads from SDN. But they are not helping me with the solution. Please tell me how to achieve the same.

    Bharath
Edited by: bharath padmanabhan on Dec 21, 2009 9:08 PM

    Hi Bharath,
Have you displayed the URL in Attachmnt & Object of UD step?. If not try this,
If we need to display something, say URL in Attachmnet & object of UD step, we need to have a BO (instantiated) and the default method of the BO (mentioned in Basic data of SWO1) will be executed, if we click the URL in Attachment & Object.
I am not sure, whether you have any ZBO or not, if not create a ZBO and create a key field, this key field needs to hold the URL link. Then create a method, inside the method, call the FM- "CALL_BROWSER" by passing the Exporting para of FM (URL) as object-key-<key field>. Also in the basic data tab of the SWO1, give this Zmethod name in default section tab.
Now copy the std task of UD step and create a task container as same type of ZBO and create a WKF container as same as ZBO and instantiate this ZBO. And do the binding in the UD step,
    <WKF container of ZBO> -> <Task container of ZBO>
Make sure before this binding, the WKF container of ZBO needs to be instantiated with the corresponding URL as key field. Now execute the WKF, you will find the Link in Attachmnet & Object and after clicking the link, it will direct to you the corresponding place. Let me know for any issues.

  • Programatically pprove/Disapprove user decision step in a waiting workflow.

    Hi Experts,
If I have the approval step work item ID,can I programetically resume the waiting workflow by providing the input (approve disapprove).
The use case is that the workflow is started. The workflow has a approval step and it is now waiting for user decision.
When the workitem is created,I get the workitem id thru an exit.
Now assume the user decision is got thru another means and now I want to resume the waiting workflow by providing the decison into the waiting workflow. The workflow should now continue with the subsequent steps.
Is there any WAPI to do that.
    Thanks in advance.
    Bikram

Ad Hoc Approval should be done with transaction SWIA.
If this occurs a lot then a redesign of the flow is in order. One where with deadline monitoring you can take certain actions when workitems are idle for an amount of time.
Also setting up substitution is advisavle for this scenario.
Programmatically doing stuff is done with the SAP_WAPI function modules, check out if sap_wapi_decision_complete works for you.
    Kind regards, Rob Dielemans

  • URL links for Workflow Approval Email per user & others

Hi all, we have upgraded to SRM7 and understand that we have to switch to using program /SAPSRM/OFFLINEAPPROVALSEND to generate the workflow notification emails. We have maintained the portal information in the SRM configuration to build the link. However, we have 2 issues here
    1. We currently output collective email so emails are sent out at specific timing on a per user rather than per work item basis. The URL link does not seem to work in this case (for shopping cart approval example) and we get an object GUID error. The URL looks something like this
    http://sap-ped.dev.xyz.com/irj/portal/?navigationtarget=obn://BOSystemAlias=SAP_SRM/BOTechnicalName=sc/Operation=detailprof&NavMode=3
Also, even if I run the program for a PO approval example, the BOTechnicalName is still pointing to sc.
However, if I do it on a per work item basis, the URL works.
Does anyone know where the control this setting?
    2. External and internal portal
We have some users connecting to the portal through more secured channel (external portal). In this case, I couldn't find a way to generate the appropriate URL for the external. In the past in the older SRM version, the program was using the attribute ITS_DEST in PPOPMA_BBP to build the URL link. Now, I do not know how the system knows which portal URL to take if the control is no longer at user level.
Has anyone ever had this requirement before?
My worse case scenario to resolve the above issues would be to use the BADI to alter the content of the email notification. The purpose of posting this message here is to ensure that I am not missing out any standard SAP functionality which could meet our requirements.
    Cheers!

  • Workflows : Objects & Attachments @ User Decision Step ?

    Hi pple,
As Ramki said,I was able to create a link in the OBJECTS and ATTACHMENTS part for a normal Activity step.
But now my requirement is to create a Link at Objects and Attachments part in USER DECISION Step. Can I do so?
I tried copying the DECISION BO to ZDECISION and copied the the standard Decision task TS00008267 to my task say..TS97900168 with my BO ZDECISION, Now when I tried to include this task in the WF User Decision step, I am getting an error that I cannot include any other object other than DECISION BO.
I thought of creating a ZDECISION Business Object and change the Default method of this BO. But I am not able to include a Z Business Object in the USER DECISION Step itself.
Is there any way of instantiating the Objects and Attachments part with our own Attachment of the USER DECISION Step.
    Please let us know.
    Regards,
    Raja Sekhar.

<i>But now my requirement is to create a Link at Objects and Attachments part in USER DECISION Step. Can I do so?
    </i>
I am not sure I understand your requirement correctly. But an agent can attach objects or documents at a decision step by clicking on the Create button in the Decision step display.
<i>Is there any way of instantiating the Objects and Attachments part with our own Attachment of the USER DECISION Step.</i>
You can copy the standard decision task and define container elements for the BO references already available in the WF container. Bind them from WF to the step. These objects will then show up under Objects and attachments in the decision step.
You can use the 'Create object reference' wizard to create an object reference if it is not already available.
    Cheers,
    Ramki Maley.

  • Workflow user-decision mail with Approve & Reject button to Outlook.

    Hi All,
Requirement: To send a mail with Approve & Reject buttons to outlook inbox.
Approach: I have used the user-decision step in the workflow and the approve, reject buttons are displayed . As far as solution in SAP inbox is concerned, it is solved.
However the requirement is to show the mail with the buttons in the outlook mail.
Resolution Required For: to show the mail with the buttons in the outlook mail. I am new to workflows sending mail to outlook inbox. Is there any way to do this using ABAP developments.
    Thanks for your time.
    Best Regards,
    Goutham.

    Hi,
If you are on ECC 5.0 or above, you can use the Extended Notif. for achieving this.
How are you getting the Outlook mail ?. If you already have Extn.Notif, then do the following :
    1. In Transaction SWNCONFIG,for your Scenario and Category,
in the Subscription Basis Data -->Subscription Settings,
Set the parameter SHOW_ACTION_DECISION_AS as "LINK"
This will give you the options of your user decision as LInks in Outlook mail.
There is lot of material in this forum for Extended Notif. if you search.
    Hope this helps.
