URL Link to Documents in Other systems

Hi,
Is it possible to have a url link saved as a document in OCS? We have somme documents that cannot be moved to OCS( business decision). These documents reside in various systems and are raccessible through a web url. Is there any way to create this web URL as a document in OCS?
what we are looking is if we click on this document link, it should open the document which is in other systems..
Please let me know

You can create a blank html page with a meta refresh tag that redirects user to the link in the other system, e.g.
<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="10; URL=http://www.myothersystem.com/my_link.htm'">
Optionally, you can accomplish the same with a blank page that includes a javascript redirect function, e.g.
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
location.replace('http://www.myothersystem.com/my_link.htm');
</script>
Upload the blank page to Content Services. When users clicks on the page, they will get redirected to the document in the other system.

  • Link to Document Content Type issue - links not relative

    I'm using the Link to Document content type in a library in order to link to documents in other libraries.  We just migrated to 2010 from WSS 3.0 (2007) and are having an issue.  We view our site internally thorough the internal machine address/name
    and also have users connecting remotely from an external url.  In 2007, it didn't matter whether we were internal or external, all links were apparently stored as relative because the "link to document" items worked fine either way.  This
    was despite entering the url fully and not relative.  When viewing/editing the properties of that item, it shows you the full url applicable to where you are viewing it...internal if internal, external if external.
    However, after the migration to 2010, all links that existed previously are fine, but any new items created using link to document apparently no longer store them as relative so either the internal or external users get the wrong link.  For example,
    if I put in the link as http://servername/library/doc the external users get that same link and it doesn't work, since it should be like https://myurl/library/doc.  Viewing/editing the properties of the item shows an absolute url of whatever location
    the item was added.  For instance if I'm connected externally and add an item, even if i only enter it as relative, it creates the link as https://myurl/library/doc and then the internal users end up having to connect via that url and that is just a pain
    due to AD and certificate issues.  The internally created links are obviously not accessible at all from the outside.
    I've also tried storing the link as relative when creating the item but it seems to overwrite it with the absolute link.
    This is causing quite an issue with us.  Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on and how to fix it?
    thanks!

    Hmm...I thought I had the thread set to email me if there were replies and I never received an email so I thought there were no replies.  I came back to this since another issue cropped up that is related and there were replies!
    I cannot recall how things were set up exactly in 2007 and there's no way to look back now.  I'm a novice when it comes to AAM/DNS/IIS really.  Maybe you can suggest what it should look like?
    We have our site which is accessed internally by http://machinename .  Externally, we use https://sharepoint.mydomain.com .
    In AAM we have http://machinename listed in the default zone with the same url for internal and public.  We also have https://sharepoint.mydomain.com listed, in the internet zone and it also has the same url for both internal and public.
    In IIS, the sharepoint site has bindings for port 80 and 443, but nothing specific to https://sharepoint.mydomain.com
    DNS....I'm not sure what should be here, if anything.
    We can access the site just fine externally, there are just a few instances where some links do not work correctly and point to the internal url instead of external when you are external.  The original post is one time and the other, found the other
    day, is a search box webpart that points to a relative url for the results page but externally it ends up going to the internal url.
    I'd appreciate any guidance.  Thanks!

  • CMIS Query to get documents in a folder - link to document

    Hey
    I have created a page that uses Content Presenter to get a list of content in a folder. The CMIS query looks like this:
    SELECT * FROM ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile WHERE ora:p:xCollectionID = 73120544374400676
    I have a Content Template to display the content titles, and that is all working well.
    The next step is to hyperlink the document name to the actual document. If I had done a service call to get tjis information, I would get back DocUrl which would link directly to the web rendition of the document. Does the CMIS query return anything like this, or is it a matter of building up the URL manually?
    Cheers,
    A

    Look at this documentation: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_content_presenter.htm#CHDFEBIB
    It provides all the properties from the node element in your CP template.
    #{node.url} will return the URL of the document.

  • Wrong URL link is being sent to users

    Hi,
    There are workitems in user's inbox.  An external notification mail is sent to user via a scheduled report.
    These  notification mail contains a URL link to log in SAP system. This URL link is old. Is it is possible to change an existing url in an email sent to user?  If its not possible what workaround can be provided so that user gets the correct url to log in??
    Regards,
    Vittalprasad

    Hi,
    How can I resend the mail for the workitems for which mail has already been send once??
    If you execute the Program RSWUWFML2
    You can see From work item creation date  & From work item creation time in the Block "Data for an Individual Run (Time Stamp Not Set)"
    There give that date & Time ( Date from which you want to resend the workitem) and execute it.
    Before that confirm whether it sending the New URL.

  • URL links for Workflow Approval Email per user & others

    Hi all, we have upgraded to SRM7 and understand that we have to switch to using program /SAPSRM/OFFLINEAPPROVALSEND to generate the workflow notification emails. We have maintained the portal information in the SRM configuration to build the link. However, we have 2 issues here
    1. We currently output collective email so emails are sent out at specific timing on a per user rather than per work item basis. The URL link does not seem to work in this case (for shopping cart approval example) and we get an object GUID error. The URL looks something like this
    http://sap-ped.dev.xyz.com/irj/portal/?navigationtarget=obn://BOSystemAlias=SAP_SRM/BOTechnicalName=sc/Operation=detailprof&NavMode=3
    Also, even if I run the program for a PO approval example, the BOTechnicalName is still pointing to sc.
    However, if I do it on a per work item basis, the URL works.
    Does anyone know where the control this setting?
    2. External and internal portal
    We have some users connecting to the portal through more secured channel (external portal). In this case, I couldn't find a way to generate the appropriate URL for the external. In the past in the older SRM version, the program was using the attribute ITS_DEST in PPOPMA_BBP to build the URL link. Now, I do not know how the system knows which portal URL to take if the control is no longer at user level.
    Has anyone ever had this requirement before?
    My worse case scenario to resolve the above issues would be to use the BADI to alter the content of the email notification. The purpose of posting this message here is to ensure that I am not missing out any standard SAP functionality which could meet our requirements.
    Cheers!

  • How do I insert a URL link into a text document

    How do I insert a URL link into a Word document

    Don't have Word available to test, but it seems to depend on the program.
    In Pages and TextEdit, if you drag the favicon from the addrss box in your browser into the document, it will be pasted in already formatted as a clickable link expressed in plain text. The favicon (I think that's the name for that element) is this item -
    However, in AppleWorks 6.2.9, all that did was drop the raw URL into the document; and it is non-clickable, just text. In AW 6 you need to type the plain-text name for the link (how you want the underlined bit to appear), select that, then go to the Format menu and select Create Link, from it choosing Internet. In the new screen, the linkname will already be entered in the upper box; paste the URL into the lower box, and it's done.

  • Component to URL link a word/excel/pdf document inside Page

    Hello Experts,
    I would really appreciate if somebody can answer if there are any standard component or functionality available to call a network URL link to a word/excel/pdf document inside a ABOUT tab page for the definition and screenshot of How-to and functionality of the dashboard.
    I am trying to avoid creating a custom component to use SAP UI5 HTML control to initialize a OLE object call to a given URL.
    Thanks
    Arun

    Well, Word and Excel documents are binary, so you will need a Binary LOB (BLOB).
    I have recently been storing/retrieving BLOBs through ASP/ADO . . .
    BLOBs are limited to 4GB, but ADO has a limit of 2GB. Hopefully, that will not be a problem.
    If you are using ODBC, then be aware that you need to enable LOBs by setting LOB=T in the connection string. If you are using ODBC with stored procedures, then there is a bug that causes the LOBs to be truncated to 32K, which is fixed in 9.2.0.6.5. A colleague tells me that the Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle works with LONGs but not with LOBs.
    If you are using OleDB with stored procedures, then you'll need to set the "SPPrmsLOB" property to TRUE.
    When uploading BLOBs through ADO, you need to set the parameter size to 1 higher than the actual size, otherwise you get an error.
    When retrieving the BLOBs through stored procedures as OUT parameters, you need to set the parameter size to larger than the BLOB, otherwise it gets truncated. I do not like having to specify 2GB for a file that might only be 32K, so I prefer to return a record set via a REF CURSOR.

  • PDF form - Create link to folder or other document

    I've created PDF Form with various field along js. now client is asking the option to insert the link of other document reference in the field by using button. similar to browse to give the "link of document location in the server" in the field by using button.
    please help to make this.
    thanks
    kv

    I see. That is more complicated to implement... Basically you could do it
    like this:
    - Set the text field's option "Field is used for file selection" under
    Properties - Options.
    - Then add a MouseUp action to the button that executes this JavaScript
    code:
    this.getField("Link").browseForFileToSubmit();
    - When the button is then clicked it will open a file selection dialog and
    will populate the selected file path into the text field.

  • Posting of Trip Document from HR(in one system) to FI(in other system).

    Hello Experts,
    I have a question how to Post Trip Document from HR(in one system) to FI(in other system)? This is to be done via ALE/IDOC , i.e when creating posting run in HR, an IDOC should be triggered which will post trip document in FI in other system...
    How is it possible?? is their another alternative?? I am  a SAP ABAP guy is it my whole responsibility to handle this required,
    Thanks
    Puneet

    Hi Yogesh,
    I'm not sure about tr of data from FICA to FI-GL corporate. But in one of my earlier project we have tr data from FICA to FI-GL and then from FI-GL to Corp GL using customized iDoc structure ACC_DOCUMENT01.
    You can look into WE30 for standard iDoc structures that would suit your requirement.
    Hope this helps.

  • Solution Manager_document URL link

    Dear friends,
      I have uploaded project documents in SOLAR01. If i get into document attributes, i am finding option "generate". If i click on that, message has shown as "URL buffered". But i could not find the URL link for my document.
    How to get a URL link for my document?
    Thanks
    Senthil

    Hi Senthil,<br>
    <br>
    Now what you have done is activated the service "/default_host/sap/bc/solman/SolmanDocuments". By doing this, now your documents can be accessed by anybody in the same domain irrespective of whether they have an user account in the solution manager system.<br>
    <br>
    In case, if you want to restrict the access to users based on SSO, then SSO needs to be activated.<br>
    <br>
    For that,<br>
    <br>
    Activate SSL in WAS - for that follow note no. 510007<br>
    (ii) Configure WAS as per note no. 612670, so that it will issue SSO logon tickets<br>
    <br>
    On doing this, whenever you try to open the document using URL, it will provide a secure access to your document.<br>
    <br>
    All these information you can find in a IMG activity as specified by other SDNers in their replies.<br>
    <br>
    <B>If your issue is solved, dont forget to reward points to all who have contributed valuable replies and close the thread.</B><br>
