URL parameters through logon page

Hi experts,
I've to add this new requirement to the logon page and I don't know what is the best choise.
The scenario is the following:
Some users with a generic portal user need access to the Portal without authentication. The solution was sending the authentication parameters (generic user + password + user addition data) encrypted and by post method. These parameters would be decrypted by the logon page and this would grant the access after an addition data validation. This works fine by post method (encryptation has not been developed yet) but I have a problem because the additional parameter is missed after log in. This parameter is used in some java WD applications in Portal.
When I pass all these parameters by get method, all works fine. User is authenticated correctly and the WD application gets the additional parameter. I don't know why it's missing with the post method. Also I've tried to pass the additional data by get and the authentication parameters by post method, but also it's not working. Maybe I need to add some custom code to pass this data parameter to the WD applications.
Does anybody know what could be the problem? Or if could I solve this scenario with another option? The anonymous authentication could be great but I need validate the additional data and hide the authtentication data and I don't know if this method is useful for this propose.
Thanks a lot in advance.

HI,
I am not clear about your requirement. But I think setting up the required iView for Anonymous user and named anonymous users
might help. Pl check
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/cd/1aad4abcb98c4597f9e395a6b62f43/frameset.htm
If your iView is a WD Iview then you can try two things. You can retrieve the parameters in WD using inbound plug
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/42/c813b3d9cd6bb7e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
or you can set the authentication of the wd application where it does not expect authentication

  • Use URL Parameters in WPC Pages

    Hi all,
    Is there anyway to pass url parameters when calling a wpc page? We would like to call a wpc page and pass a URL a parameter that would then be accessible to each individual component within the wpc page. Also, how can we read the url parameter in the XSLT for the component webforms? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Shibendra

    That would come within flex.
    In my case, there is a SAP CRM web application which has a push button. On click of this button, flex URL is called(ie., http://172.22.41.154/MH_Bluebook_Integration2.html). On click of that button I need to pass an Object ID, which is passed withing that flex URL, something like this:
    http://172.22.41.154/MH_Bluebook_Integration2.html?objID=abcd
    I need to receive 'abcd' in the flex. Any way we could modify the HTML wrapper to send this value to swf?

  • Passing parameters through URL in ADF Application with UIShell

    Hi,
    JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0
    The UI in our application is developed with UIShell pageTemplate.
    We have a Home page created with PageTemplace "UIShell.jspx" and this page is placed as a view in adfc-config.xml (the Unbounded Task Flow).
    The other pages for our application are created using Page Fragments and these pages are called from Home_taskmenu.xml through Bounded task flows.
    With this setting, the URL(after SignIn) will look like,
    http://localhost:7101/OperationalPlanning/faces/Home?_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.no-new-window-redirect=true&_afrLoop=6811862222491857&_adf.ctrl-state=29wus7giw_19
    We have a requirement to build the URL which should open a Page Fragment directly after Signing In to the application. And we have a id to be passed as a parameter, so it should open the page fragment with the details based on the id value that we pass.
    The parameters are already registered in the Bounded Task Flow(which has the page fragment) and I could open in the "localArea" using a link in the Home Page.
    Now, I want to directly launch the Bounded task flow by passing a parameter, so that it opens the Page Fragment as a tab once we signIn.
    Let me know if there is any solution for this requirement.
    If there is any document to follow for this kind of requirement in an application which is created using the UIShell, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Tamil

    hi Frank,
    Thanks for the response. We followed your suggestion and managed to capture URL parameters in afterPhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_MODEL) and save parameters to ViewScope.
    Then in beforePhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_RENDER), we retrieve parameters back and invoke FndUIController.openMainTask method to launch the correponding taskflow but nothing happens.
    public static void openTaskflowOnNewTab(String taskflowId) {
    try {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ELContext elc = fc.getELContext();
    ExpressionFactory ef = fc.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
    ValueExpression valExp = ef.createValueExpression(elc,"#{bindings.openMainTask}",Object.class);
    JUCtrlActionBinding methodBinding = (JUCtrlActionBinding)valExp.getValue(elc);
    Map params = methodBinding.getParamsMap();
    params.put("label", "Some Title");
    params.put("taskFlowId", taskflowId);
    params.put("reuseInstance", true);
    methodBinding.invoke();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    To prove that this method works, we create a UI button on the page (which binds this method in PageDef.xml), and associate this method to onclick event. At runtime after page is opened, clicking on the button does launch the taskflow on new tab successfully.
    Do you happen to know what I do wrong in the beforePhase() method?
    Thanks

  • Different portal logon pages with same url.

    Hi all,
    Im doing portal logon page customization . My requirement is when a user give the portal link in his browser he should get the portal logon page according to the country language..for example if he opens the portal from india he should get English text and if he opens the portal from japan he should get the japanese text in the portal logon page.
    thanks
    Rajeev B

    Rajeev,
    Its possible to have the different logon pages for the same portal.
    Its also possible for the same ulr but different parameters.
    You can do customization on portal logon page.
    For example:
    Consider that the url http://myep:50000/irj/portal is currently using to access the portal.
    You can pass addintional parameter on this url and fetch them into logon page, display the pages based on the values that you have fetched.
    for example http://myep:50000/irj/portal/myparam

  • Question about parsing parameters through url

    Hello,
    I have some questions about parsing parameters through a url.
    What I want to build is a page with some text fields and maybe one drop down list. After user enter values into the text fields and select one option in the drop down list, then press the submit button, a report will be opened, which according to the parameters parsed.
    These were what I have done:
    1. create a blank page and a region
    2. create one text field in the region, the name is FIRSTNAME
    3. create one hidden items FN, of which the source value is item FIRSTNAME
    4. create a process. the type is "Set Preference to value of Item" which set PN with the value of FIRSTNAME when the page submitted
    5. create a button "Submit Page and Redirect to URL", in the URL I entered:
    http://dianti.local.net:9704/xmlpserver/~shichao/GuestFolder/orderdetail/orderdetail.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=0&_xdo=%2F~shichao%2FGuestFolder%2Forderdetail%2Forderdetail.xdo&FIRSTNAME=&FN.&_xt=orderdetail&_xf=pdf&_xmode=4
    My problem is: it seems working for the first time after I entered a value in the FIRSTNAME text field and press submit button, but when I come back to the page (the report was opened in the same page, wondering how to open it in a new window?), the value is saved in the text field and after I enter another value and submit the page again. It still parse the old value to the report. The value of the parameter doesn't change.
    What's the reason? and is this the correct way to build what I want?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Shichao

    Hi Scott,
    Thank you again for the help.
    But this didn't answer my question exactly. I have tested what you created and the problem remains. When I first time enter a value in the text field and press the button, it goes to page 2, but the parameter didn't parsed. When I go back to page 1 and then click the button again. After that I can see the value I parsed on page 2. Same thing happens when I try to enter a new value. So which means the button has to been pressed twice to parse the parameter.
    Due to the limitation of my knowledge of Apex. I don't know how to fix it. Could you please help me again and hope you understand what the problem is. Thank you very much.

  • Passing Parameters through a URL to a Report..

    I have noticed a lot of message about similar situations where people have had problems sending certain parameters through a URL.. so this is maybe something that's not possible.. but you if you dont ask then you dont know.
    so..
    We have a form that has search options in it
    (its a customized form that replaces the customization bit that you get with a report -> .show_parms - just so we could do different things with it)
    and one of the fields is a combobox populated by an LOV
    - it has usernames in it
    so when you search using a value in the combobox it will show all the records that that person has entered into the table..
    however we are currently getting an error
    Error: An unexpected error occurred: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error (WWV-16016)
    this is the URL with the parameters
    http://portal.somewhere.com/pls/portal30/foldername.RPT_Edit_Request_Old.show?p_arg_names=Request.RID&p_arg_values='||nRID||'&p_arg_names=Request.CID&p_arg_values='||nCID||'&p_arg_names=Request.ATID&p_arg_values='||nATID||'&p_arg_names=Request.REQUEST_NAME&p_arg_values='||nREQNM||'%&p_arg_names=_request_rid_cond&p_arg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=_request_cid_cond&p_arg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=_request_atid_cond&p_arg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=_request_request_name_cond&p_arg_values=LIKE';
    when you remove the condition at the end
    the report is displayed (but not customized obviously)
    however you can see the value has been picked up from the combobox as it's in the URL in the address bar..
    so that bit works fine
    any thoughts/ideas/or even solutions! :) would be much appreciated
    thanks
    Richard

    actually
    nevermind
    i got it to work without even knowing :)
    the condition was causing the error
    and adding a % after the value makes it work

  • Does CF really auto-decode URL parameters passed to a page?

    CF docs and livedocs state that:
    quote:
    ColdFusion automatically decodes URL parameters that are
    passed to a page
    (for example, see the URLEncodedFormat tag description, last
    sentence of opening paragraph)
    However, if you have a url-encoded url parameters, as in
    ?var1=1%26var2=2 (%26 is url-encoded equivalent of &), and in
    your page you try to validate url parameters with <cfparam
    type="integer" name="url.var1"> or with isvalid("integer",
    url.var1) function, the validation will fail! Apparently, inside at
    least this tag and function Cf does not automatically decode url
    parameters... it sees the var1 declaration, but sees its value to
    be not 1, but 1&var2=2, which surely fails validation against
    type "integer"....
    This behaviour has been brought up in these forums several
    times now, but nobody has been able to explain how this relates to
    the CF docs statement... Any ideas, anyone? Is this an expected
    behaviour? Are the docs wrong? Does 'parameter', as in "url
    parameters", refer only to specific parts of query string and does
    not include url var name/value pairs separator? Apparently the same
    happens if you have "=" sign url-encoded, too...

    I will have to think on this, do some reading and try some
    experiments.
    But my first thought is that this is expected behavior. I
    would
    propose the purpose of URL encoding the ampersand(&) is
    so that it will
    be considered a part of a value, not its usual role of
    name-value pair
    separator. So in my mind this is the way it is supposed to
    work.
    val1=1&val2=2 : val1 is 1 and val2 is 2
    val1=1%26var2=2 : val1 is '1&var2' or '1&var2=2'
    I will have to explore this further.

    Hi ,
    We have a URL iview in EP 7.0.When we run URL iview, logon page appears.This site user ID and password are the same as portal user id and password.
    How can pass user id and password screen in URL iview?User want to see his/her menu without entering user id and password in the URL  iview.

    Ok, i understood you the other way.
    Thoose parameter are used for logging on to the portal from another system.
    You want to logon to another system from the portal.
    You will need to use usermapping of the portal
    You create a system and an alias for the webpage you want to logon to.
    In you user adminstration you can the maintain a user mapping for the user to the system.
    At last you can configure the iView to use the mapping.

    You need not do hit and trial on various version of jdev. Jdev version should be as per your instance patchset version. Go through document no.416708.1 on metalink to know you need to download which version of jdev, as per ur instance patch set level.

    hi Expert,
    I have created two different logon pages with different URL's for the same server, now i can use both the pages to logon in to the system.
    what i need to do now is :-
    URL "A"  users set ="A"
    URL "B"  users set ="B"
    If we have the above two different URL and respective users for those URLs.
    Now if i am User from the User set "A"  and try to Login by using URL "B".
    I am able to login, but i want to restrict.
    ie.
    users from set ="A" login only by the link URL "A"
    users from set ="B" login only by the link URL "B"
    Points would be given to helpful answers.
    Regards,
    Sanjyoti.

    Hi Sanjyoti,
    I am not sure if this would work, but if time permits then do try this.
    User A -- URL A
    User B -- URL B
    Now make User A a part of Group A, and set conditions in code that Group A can logon only through URL A and User B can logon through URL B.
    Then in code check the association user - group and group - url and accordingly allow / disallow the user to go ahead.
    This is just a thought.....do tell me if this works.....or if it doesnt then do post the solution you use....

  • Source of URL parameters when launching the hap_document

    Hi,
    I have been working on the 'Status Overview' iView in the Employee Performance Management module. The source of the table in the iView is the MSS_HAP_STATUS data view in OADP. I have been able to edit and shuffle the columns through the 'define columns' options in the OADP data provider. Some of the columns are shown as links since they are associated with Service Keys which map back to Resources in the homepage framework. The resource 'MSS_MBO_DOCUMENT' is associated with the some of the columns of the Status Overview page. When I click on the link it launches the HAP_Document BSP application with some dynamic URL parameters like
    Application=HAP_DOCUMENT
    PageId=document_portal.htm
    DynamicParameter=NEW_APPRAISER_ID......
    I have been trying to debug the proxy class CL_HRWPC_SER_MBO_PARAMS associated with the service MSS_MBO_DOCUMENT to look for the dynamic URL parameters but didnt find them all in there. I did find some of them but not in the form of the parameter string it generates in the URL.
    Please let me know if I am looking in the right direction. Any help would be really appreciated.

  • How to pull URL parameters into my Captivate 6 flash

    I want to be able to parse a parameter being passed in the URL to my Captivate video and then use it after the file is over.   e.g. a username that is picked up by another web page.  Is there an easy way to do this.
    Looking through old posts, is see using the m_MovieHandle as the area to place my flash code, but everything so far I've tried doesn't bring in the variable.   I'm kinda new to flash.
    Thanks

    Put this JavaScript code in a separate .js file.  I called mine utilities.js:
         /* Utility to get a URL Parameters as queryString object */
         var queryString = (function(a) {
              if (a == "") return {};
              var b = {};
              for (var i = 0; i < a.length; ++i)
                   var p=a[i].split('=');
                   if (p.length != 2) continue;
                   b[p[0]] = decodeURIComponent(p[1].replace(/\ /g, " "));
              return b;
         })(window.location.search.substr(1).split('&'));
         /* Utility function to Set a Captivate Variable with a URL Parameter */
          var setCpVariableWithURLParameter = function(cpUserVariableName, urlParameterName){
              /* Get the requested URL Parameter from the URLParams Object */
              var variableValue = queryString[urlParameterName];
              /* Check for HTML5 vs. SWF output */
              if (typeof window.cp==='undefined') {
                   /* We have SWF output, so Get the Captivate Object */
                   var objCp=document.getElementById('Captivate');
                   if(objCp && objCp.cpEISetValue){
                        /* Set the Captivate User variable with the JavaScript variabe, variableValue */
                        objCp.cpEISetValue('m_VarHandle.' + cpUserVariableName, variableValue);
              } else {
                   /* We have HTML5 output */
                   if(cp.vm && cp.vm.setVariableValue){
                      cp.vm.setVariableValue(cpUserVariableName, variableValue);
    Include this .js file in the header of the <ProjectName>.htm file of the swf published output by using a script tag:
    <script src="utilities.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    Where utilities.js is at the root of the published project (where the published .swf file lives).
    Also add this script tag to the header of the HTML5 output index.html file.
    To use the setCpVariableWithURLParameter() function, you would make this call inside of a JavaScript action in Captivate:
    setCpVariableWithURLParameter('v_Name', 'userName');
    Where 'v_Name' is the Captivate user Variable you want to set and 'userName' is the name of the URL parameter.
    Give that a try and let us know how it goes.

    Jim Leichliter
