URLs Prefixes Customized on Both J2EE and ABAP Side

In the Diagnostic Support tool I am getting the subject error message and the following check error:
The URL for ABAP customizing table RSPOR_T_PORTAL: https://mycompany.com:1443 is not compatible with the URL for ABAP-based BI URL generation for BEx Web Applications 3.x (function module RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET): http://mycompany.com:8104
I have no idea where the function module RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET is getting that port of 8104. Any ideas where I can check?

I think from the profile parameter : icm/host_name_full.
in your instsance profile enter :
icm/host_name_full = hostname.domaine.
look also at the 2 parameters :
icm/server_port_0
ms/server_port_0
may be the ms/server_port_0 is equal to 81$$.
instance id is it 04 ?
these parameters should (if i remember well) define the URL you are using. make changes and let me know if it works.

MYSAPSSO2 cookie format in J2ee and ABAP - NW7

I installed NW7 with ABAP + Java with system id DV1. I was able to configure the java and abap to issue ticket and to be accepted by other systems (DV2).
If I login to the DV1 abap host using webgui url(integrated ITS), I am getting the MYSAPSSO2 cookie in the browser IE. With this I am able to login to DV2 j2ee and also to ABAP.
If I login to DV1 j2ee engine using the portal link, I am not seeing the MYSAPSSO2 cookie in the browser, but seeing JSESSIONID and with it still I am able to login to DV2.
My question : Is the JSESSIONID exactly equal to MYSAPSSO2 ? If not how can I make the DV1 J2ee to issue MYSAPSSO2 cookie ? Thanks.

I am able to test and able to login to the other j2ee or abap system. But still not able to see the MYSAPSSO2 cookie issued by EP j2ee.
DV1 - NW7 SP12 system ABAP + J2ee(with portal on it)
DV2 - NW7 SP12 system ABAP + J2ee(with BI java)
I have exported DV1's java and abap certificate to DV2, made it trusted and the the connection is working.
When I login to DV1 j2ee using the url http://<DV1fullhostname>.com:52200/irj/portal
and getting the below in my browser

With this above cookie I am able to login to DV2 j2ee http://<DV2fullhostname>.com:52500/nwa
or abap http://<DV2fullhostname>.com:8025/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
without any issue. In my browser I do not see MYSAPSSO2 cookie. Why is that?
My login stack in j2ee is defined as below.
           1. Evaluate ticket
           2. Basic login modele
           3. Create ticket
At the same time if I login to DV1 abap http://<DV1fullhostname>.com:8022/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui I can see the cookie MYSAPSSO2 in the browser and still able to login to DV2.
Dont understand why my DV1 j2ee is not issuing MYSAPSSO2 cookie and issueing JSESSIONID ?

Compatability of J2EE and ABAP Editions

Are these two sneak preview editions (Java Edition and ABAP Edition) compatable such that they both can be installed on the same XP system?
Presumably the Full edition which is not yet released will provide for a proper J2EE add-in installation.
But in the meantime, should it be OK to install the J2EE ABAP installations separately on the same system?
If yes, if there any special approach to the instance numbering that must be followed?

Thanks for those hints. I have installed the ABAP version (SID = NSP). After that the J2EE installation (J2E) is smart enough to figure out that instance 00 is already taken and uses 02 (without any input from the installer).
But ... unfortunately ... Load Java Database Content step just hangs. The last message in the log is an INFO message (see below). It seems like a lot of people have reported problems like this one.

Suppress Overall result (both rows and columns side and its data)

I need to do some settings in BEx Query Designer, so that In BEx Analyzer, I don't see 'overall result' both on 'rows' and 'column' sides
This is what I have done so far
In 'rows' section, Properties of my KF (no. Products) then 'calculation' tab 'calculate result as'=Suppress result
This way in BEx Analyzer I don't see the FIGURES/DATA for 'Result' and 'overall result' BUT 'result' and 'overall result' still exist both on rows and colum side even if there are not figures in them.
Is there any property in BEx Designer so that I don't see 'overall result' at all

selecting a characteristic, properties, Display tab, Result lines: Always Suppress
with this I don't see 'result'
but 'overall result' result exist both on 'rows' and 'column' side alongwith its data.
If I combine the above with this: selecting KF, properties, calucations, Calculate result as: Suppress result
then
I don't see the data in 'overall result' BUT 'overall result' still exist both on rows and column sides
any setting so that 'overall result' completely vanishes

HA Solution with J2EE and ABAP Stack

In the Planning Guide is written that if DB2 data sharing is used, each application server connects to only one database server at any one time. There is a mechanism called sysplex failover that automatically redirects an application server to another database server in case of a failure. Sysplex failover is currently not available for a SAP J2EE system.
Lets assume that DB2 Member A fails. The ABAP Stack A is doing automatically a reconnect to DB2 Member B. The J2EE Stack A isn't able to do this. So what happens now with the new incoming http requests over the WebDispatcher/ICM? The J2EE Server on A is basically running still well, because only DB2 member A is down.
a) Does the MSG server realize that DB2 Member A is no longer available and informs therefore the WebDispatcher that incoming requests should be send to J2EE Server on machine B?
b) Doesn't the MSG server realize this situation and therefore the WebDispatcher will furthermore load balance the requests between J2EE server A and J2EE server B?

Sorry, I haven't had time to answer your questions and unfortunately won't have in the forseeable future.
I'm using read only, so I do not know about RW, except that AD requires SSL and probably some settings on the AD server as well as the account you are connecting with.
BTW. The answer to the original question is that it is not possible to mix ssl and non-ssl connections to LDAP

Time Machine for both Mac and Windows side of BootCamp

Can I use my external hard drive to backup both the Mac side and the windows side of BootCamp? I am using Time Machine for the Mac side, and I know that WinXP doesn't have Time Machine software. Can I use the hard drive when I'm on the Windows side as I would on any Windows machine, and move files under "My Computer"?

ONLY if you partition the external and use Winclone for windows-but leave as much space as possible for TM.

Yes.
Without special software, the windows partition can't even see your OS X partition.

How can i format an external drive so as to read and write from both windows and mac side

i recently bought a macbook pro and used bootcamp so as to be able to run win7 and mac. I now wish to have an external drive so as to backup and tranfer files between the two os's. Specifically to read and write form either windows or mac. How can I do this?

JAVA and ABAP stack support pakages

Hi,
I am new on installation of solution manager server.
I just install solution manager server EHP1 on windows 2003. Now I want to patch my server.
I have abap and java stack on my server. Can I use jspm to upload my new patches for both Java and ABAP stack or I should use SPAM for abap stack and jspm for java.

Hello Reza,
Just to clarify, Best practise is to update your kernel to the latest before you start patching in your system.
So download SAPEXE.SAR (Database independent kernel package), SAPEXEDB (Database dependent kernel package) and IGSEXE.SAR (IGS Package) from the SMP. kernel is dependent on your operating system and database and therefore make sure you download the right package otherwise you'll end up in messing up the system.
follow SAPnote # 19466 for help.
Once you are done with the kernel update then patch you Abap stack by SPAM and JAva stack by JSPM.
I hope that makes things clear.

I am using Sharepoint server 2013 , SQL Server 2012 SP1, PerfomancePoint and Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode.
I built one report in SSDTusing an Analysis Services Cube. This report has 3 parameters. So the idea is use Dashboard Designer to use this SSRS Report and connect it with some PP Filters.
The issue is that I am always obtaining "Unable to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
I have the following settings in the PP Report:
Server Mode: SharePoint Integrated
SharePoint Site: http://MySharrepointSite:PortNumber/sites/bicenter
Document library : Documents (selected from drop down, my report is deployed to document library)
Report : report.rdl
When I select the report from drop down list its giving the error in a pop up message box as "Unable
to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
I have tried to use the most simple report, only with one parameter, but is always displaying the error above.
When I open the report directly from documents library its working fine and even it is working fine (
when I deployed the report) but the issue is parameters are not showing.
Any idea? Please help.

Hello Tom,
It should be "ReportServer" in the URL, not "ReportService".
In "Reporting Service Configuration Manager" look up the correct URL. Open Internet Explorer with right-mouse click => "Run as Administrator" and open the URL, this should work. Navigate to "Side setting" (on top right side),
go to tab "Security" and add your account with role "System Administrator". Afterwards you should be able to open the URL without running IE as admin.

Winrm and URL Prefix

My company changed the default wsman URL Prefix for Winrm. As a consequence, we cannot access file shares on Failover Clustering. We get Event Error codes 142 and 49 under the Windows Remote Management Event logs. Changing the URL Prefix back to
wsman resolves our issue. Is there a way to resolve this issue keeping our changed URL Prefix?

had better use the default settings for it. Changing it is not supported.

ABAP List formats to cater for both A4 and Letter environments

We have an environment where now both Letter and A4 stationery is used. Where can we get ABAP list formats for the Letter stationery and should we define them separately e.g. X_65_80 and X_65_80_LTR?
Secondly what is the transaction path for copying and modifying ABAP list formats?

Allright guys. I appreciate the quick responses. I've worked a lot in CR however i am not understanding the solution so I'd appreciate if you can dumb it down for me. If i understand it correctly you guys are suggesting to make a formula, that either return my group by string (which is a formula in my report) or the Quantity. I tried writing a formula like this

GroupName ({@GroupBy})
else
{NetPNL.GrossAfterAdj}
but it seems like CR does not allow you to return 2 different data types. Even if it had worked i would not know what to do from there. Can anyone please dumb it down for me. To make my situation more clear below is an example of how my data is..

CA 500
when the data shows in the report, its grouped by state, so it comes out like
MN 350
CA 800
I want the users to decide whether they want it sorted by state (ascending)

or Total quantity (asc)
