Use dynamic web services endpoints with eInsight

Hi,
I'm dealing with a small problem when integrating two multiple systems based on web services.
The problem is that Ive a WSDL that represents different web services endpoints and my Business Process have to look out the input information and access a different web service endpoint corresponding to the input code. I only want to be able to change the endpoint of the web service or change the server that is called. However I don't know how can do it or if I can.
To explain more clearly Ill give an example. Imagine a company with some stores. All the stores have a web service with the same WSDL (changing the endpoint). I want to be able to call the web service in different endpoints automatically, without having to import another WSDL and make changes on my Business Process.
I hope someone can help me. Thank you in advance.

I would prefer using a Sun's JAX-RPC implementation if you are using JBoss. USe JBossWS. There are many things you have to consider when developing a Web Services. You should probably research that first. If it is your first web service, probably you are better off using RPC style web services. The documents and samples are all available on SUN web site. Try those out. For deploying on JBoss you would require to configure some jboss specific deployment descriptors.

  • Problems with using old web service project with new WLS/OEPE install

    I developed a java web service two years ago using WLS 10.3.3 and OEPE. After development I checked the workspace into Subversion including the .metadata directory. The web service was deployed to a production WLS box and is running fine.
    Now I have a new Windows 7 desktop computer. I have installed WLS 10.3.3 and OEPE on my new desktop and am trying to get the web service I wrote two years ago to run locally. When OEPE launches I point the workspace to the workspace project directory (from two yrs ago) that I have just checked out from Subversion. However when the OEPE IDE comes up I have many errors in the java code. Pretty much every java class is flagged with a "cannot be resolved to a type" error.
    Also, when I try to create a new server and domain, I have a problem there. I select "Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 2" as the server type, click Next on the wizard, but then on the next window where you select the Domain, the Domain Directory is disabled and will not let me enter a value, and the link to allow you to create a new Domian is not visible.
    Feeling kind of stupid as this should be really simple to do. Am I proceeding correctly by saving off the entire workspace and then trying to use that workspace in the new WLS/OEPE install? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you tried creating a new workspace, then import the project from your subversion workspace?

  • Web Service Endpoint URI expected. Not found endpoint with URI /wssproc

    Hi All,
    We are following the steps mentioned here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/ea/c91141e109ef6fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm to configure the message level security in our new PI 7.1 system.
    We have created the RFC destination with prefix /wssproc/plain?style=document. But when we test the RFC connectioon, we get the following error message:
    Status HTTP Response     404
    Status Text     Not Found
    And response body is: Web Service Endpoint URI expected. Not found endpoint with URI /wssproc.
    Are we missing a configuration point? Do we need to create the endpoint manually? And if yes, how?

    Well, in addition to the 404 message I get the following error as well (i.e. if I go to the link http://<server>:<port>/wssproc/plain?style=document)
    Web Service Endpoint URI expected. Not found endpoint with URI /wssproc.

  • Setup dynamic Web Service Data Source

    Hi all,
    is there a way to setup a "dynamic" web service data source like
    WSDL-URL = 'http://${server_ip}:${server_port}/XYZService?wsdl
    and passing in the server_ip and server_port variables from outside upon document rendering?
    As far as we have seen, there is not way to do so - leaving us with a static web service data source configuration that is only able to point to one specific WSDL.
    The use case we have here goes like this:
    1) We have one specific template for a specific document to be rendered.
    2) Depending on the caller, the data source must be different, i.e. the same web service at different endpoint addresses must be called to fetch the right data.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Stefan

    Hi Klaus,
    thanks for your reply. We also had that idea with the router web service ;-) But a little more flexibility would be great for us due to our decentralized system landscape.
    Currently, we are in the evaluation phase of BI publisher to replace our local reports (sales documents) with BI Publisher reports having one central instance of BI Publisher and n local store instances all providing a getSalesDocument() web service.
    To be able to call the correct web service, a dynamic config of web service endpoints would be helpful.
    Best regards,
    Stefan

  • Loading JDO in a web service endpoint

    I have a web service endpoint (Java class exposed as a web service) I'm developing in NW04-sp9, and I'm having trouble getting access to JDO in my web service.  I have an object class I'd like to persist using JDO, and I've developed them and run the build helper utility to make them persistable.  I believe that this works, because I can look at the .class file in a text editor and see references to javax/jdo/spi/PersistenceCapable.
    In my WSE, I try to get the default PersistenceManagerFactory doing a JNDI lookup with:
    _pmf=(PersistenceManagerFactory)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdo/defaultPMF");
    which fails with a NamingException.  Based on another forum posting, I tried:
    _pmf=(PersistenceManagerFactory)ctx.lookup("deployedAdapters/jdo/defaultPMF/shareable/jdo/defaultPMF");
    Which actually seems to work, but when I do this, I get a NoClassDefFoundError on javax/jdo/PersistenceManagerFactory from the web service endpoint.
    I have added the com.sap.jdo application to my WSE's application-j2ee-engine.xml file, as described in the JDO chapter of the NW04 documentation.
    Any clues what I'm missing?
    Thanks,
    - Bill

    I did this (see my initial post), and I agree that it's a bad idea.  I didn't have much choice, though   When I did this, and I tried to cast the returned object to a PersistenceManagerFactory, I received a NoClassDefFoundError, which led me to believe that the JDO classes were not loaded into the web service container.  This is what led me down the resource reference path.

  • Problem in passing/returning objects over dynamic web service call

    Hi Friends,
    I am beginner in java web service.
    Here is the problem I am facing when I pass/return user defined objects to remote web service method using dynamic we service call.
    The client can call the remote web service method in 2 ways.
    1. By generating client stubs using WSDL file
    - In this case, I am able to pass/return the user defined objects to remote method without any issue only when the server side web services are deployed in any server(jboss)
    - But in java 1.6 & above, the web services can be deployed without server using endpoint. In this case, I am not able to pass/return objects over web service calls.
    2. Without generating client stubs (dynamic web service call)
    - This will establish a connection at run time using the given WSDL file (I have attached the document). I have to form an XML(This will contain API name, arguments) string as input at run time
    - In this case, it allows only string as argument while passing & returning.
    Please let me know if you can help me on this.
    Regards,
    pani

  • Using Encrypted Web Service connections within Xcelsius 2008 SP1 - FP3

    Hi all,
    I'm running the latest version of Xcelsius Server 2008 and have setup a simplistic dashboard that uses 4 web service connections to dynamically call queries within a SQL Server 2008 database. The dashboard has been exported to html and I can serve this to the WWW.
    I have since created a new https website (using a self signed certificate) and can now serve my Xcelsius dashboard via https. My problem is that I have had to run my old website in parallel (as it serves the said non-encrypted web service) which is linked within the swf source (that is running on the new https enabled website).
    Upon trying to alter my existing xlf file so that it references the encrypted web service URL (which works fine via the browser) it prompts me to accept the self signed certificate. Once I click yes, and then add the certificate to the certificate store the whole thing locks up and I am forced to close Xcelsius.
    Am I right in thinking that Xcelsius will not accept self signed certificates or encrypted web services at all? For me this is big security concern because if I want to share my dashboard via the WWW I have to accept the fact that I need to run an unsecure web service.
    Is this something that is only supported in Xcelsius Enterprise?
    TIA

    Hello Paul,
    Sorry not to have replied to this sooner.
    We have had experience of hosting Xcelsius Dashboards using Https: for one of our clients here at Flynet.
    We noticed a number of issues , we did have problems relating to the Firewall on our Gateway server for example. We also had issues with the number of active connections processed when the dashboard is running. I think the default for Https: is 2 , so the connections can be queued up. Have you retried with one connection open. The Dashboard we did however did have up to 12 connections, so Xcelsius can handle multiple connections.
    When developing the Dashboards using Xcelsius I did have to import using the Web Service URL of the remote server which was Https: However due to issues sometimes with our Gateway Firewall and the way our Local Network had to access the https: URL , what I tended to do was develop using a localhost Web service and then switch the URL to use the https: Web Service once the dashboard was exported to the server it was to be hosted on.
    What we did notice for example is that we could have a dashboard running locally quite happily using the https: web services which are actually on [http://www.flynetviewer.com]   then we would start getting #2 type flash errors. To solve this we had to restart our Windows Firewall on our gateway server. We could run the dashboard fine if run from our web site.
    I am not sure if the issues you have are related to this. I have had problems when I had to import the https: web service URL on my local machine  , I am prompted for the Username password for the Https: location , but when trying to import Xcelsius has a problem and exits. Due to these problems I tended to use a local Web service when developing. I know this isn't always practical.
    I was running on Vista 64 bit , but I also have XP and Server 2003 running on Virtual machines.
    I will be happy to share information my experiences with you.
    Best Regards,
    Ian Learmonth
    Flynet
    Updated to add: I have just successfully imported an https: Web service. Mapped it to the dashboard , run it and invoked sucessfully. This was on Windows XP professional SP2.
    I did the same thing on Windows Vista 64 bit and had an issue. So not sure what operating system you are using or whether it's a Certificate thing. I can try and find out a bit more on our Certificate if you need to find out what the issue is.
    The Vista issue seems to have been resolved by running Xcelsius as Administrator.
    When successfully importing I was prompted for the Username and Password for the URL but not the Certificate.

  • Operations not sorted in the drop list of the web service endpoint

    Hello,
    Since the beginning of oc4j standalone till the last release 10.1.3.5.0, the operations in the drop list of the web service endpoint are not alphabetically sorted,
    they are in a random order.
    If a web service contains a lot of operations, it's always difficult to find one operation in the list.
    How can this list be sorted ?
    I don't see any sort option in the web service properties (in Jdevelopper) or in the deployment descriptor (in Jdevlopper).
    Best regards
    Laurent

    You are correct...the above code is useful only when debugging in Visual Studio.  You should have better luck with either of the following two options:
    Option 1: Retrieve the id from the response of SaveChanges()
    sc.AddToSampleList(new ServiceReference.SampleListItem { Title= "Hello World" });
    System.Data.Services.Client.ChangeOperationResponse response = sc.SaveChanges().FirstOrDefault() as System.Data.Services.Client.ChangeOperationResponse;
    int id = ((ServiceReference.SampleListItem)((System.Data.Services.Client.EntityDescriptor)response.Descriptor).Entity).Id;
    Option 2: Create the list item and access its properties after calling SaveChanges()
    ServiceReference.SampleListItem li = new ServiceReference.SampleListItem { Title= "Hello World" };
    sc.AddToSampleList(li);
    sc.SaveChanges();
    int id = li.Id;

    Hi Rajendar,
    I think the problem with having empty interfaces, or interfaces without methods for EJBs, is that they don't really make  "sense". After deploying your EJB, a client application will use JNDI or dependency injection to access your EJB.  So in your case it will look something like this
    @EJB
        mytestSSBLocal myejb; //(In this case we are using the local interface)
    In the second step, you will want to do something will your EJB, but since mytestSSBLocal doesn't define any methods, there is nothing you can do with your ejb.
    The Exception is telling you that weblogic couldn't find a complaint interface for your EJB.
    best regards, Nicolas

  • Automated Web Service Discovery with Java

    Hi,
    I am doing research on Dynamic Web Service Discovery. For that I have to code some implementation. I need to do the following things:
    - Code a J2SE application in which I give the name of web service and/or the required function name.
    - The application dynamically discovers related webservices on the internet.
    - Displays the results for the available Web Services
    Please suggest any other standard for Dynamic Web Service Discovery that can be used in Java.
    I have seen some tutorials using WSDP1.5/2.0 but they are rather old dating back to 2002. I have also seen JAXR, but again it refers to WSDP1.5/2.0
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to use RESTful Web Services provided from BO Enterprise

    Hi Experts,
    i am trying to use the Web Service "BIPLATFORM" provided by BusinessObjects Enterprise. As I have trouble reading the WSDL i tried to use the REST interface.
    Unfortunatally I cannot find any Docu about that in the internet.
    Does anybody have experience in using the BIPLATFORM web service?
    Thank you in advance

    Thank you very much for your instant answer and help!
    I got it now: "no rest in biplatform service"
    What made me think REST is possible was only the following entry in ...\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\conf\axis2.xml
    "<!-- Our HTTP endpoints can handle both REST and SOAP. Following parameters can be used to distinguiush those endpoints
      -->
    - <!-- In case of a servlet, if you change this you have to manually change the settings of your servlet container to map this

    Anyway I was only hoping to get REST work as the WSDL provided by BusinessObjects Enterprise is not valid to be parsed by SAP Netweaver ABAP SOAP Runtime...
    I regret but i have to add: The fact that the web service is only meant to work with certain consumers shows that the people responsible have little to no understanding what the idea of SOAP, SOA and WSDL really is. On the one hand SAP was always pushing their ESOA idea but on the other hand we got this strange limitations like "only for these clients..."
    This is exactly the opposite of the SOAP-idea:

  • Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16

    Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16
    I need to make wsdl web service call in my weblogic app server. The web service is provided by a 3rd party vendor. I keep getting error
    Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found
    Certificate chain received from ws-eq.demo.xxx.com - xx.xxx.xxx.156 was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure
    Validation error = 16
    From the SSL debug log, I can see 3 verisign hierarchy certs are correctly loaded (see 3 lines in the log message starting with “adding as trusted cert”). But somehow after first handshake, I got error “Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found”.
    Here is how I load trustStore and keyStore in my java program:
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore",”cacerts”);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", trustKeyPasswd);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", keyStoreName);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword",clientCertPwd);      System.setProperty("com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.dump","true");
    Here is how I create cacerts using verisign hierarchy certs (in this order)
    1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignClass3G5PCA3Root.txt -alias "Verisign Class3 G5P CA3 Root"
    1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediatePrimary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Primary"
    1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediateSecondary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Secondary"
    Because my program is a weblogic app server, when I start the program, I have java command line options set as:
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore=SSLTrust.jks
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.enforceConstraints=strong
    That SSLTrust.jks is the trust certificate from our web server which sits on a different box. In our config.xml file, we also refer to the SSLTrust.jks file when we bring up the weblogic app server.
    In addition, we have working logic to use some other wsdl web services from the same vendor on the same SOAP server. In the working web service call flows, we use clientgen to create client stub, and use SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter to load trustStore and keyStore, and then bind the SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the webSerive client object and make the webservie call. For the new wsdl file, I am told to use wsimport to create client stub. In the client code created, I don’t see any way that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the client object, so I have to load certs by settting system pramaters. Here I attached the the wsdl file.
    I have read many articles. It seems as long as I can install the verisign certs correctly to web logic server, I should have fixed the problem. Now the questions are:
    1.     Do I create “cacerts” the correct order with right keeltool options?
    2.     Since command line option “-Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore” is used for web server jks certificate, will that cause any problem for me?
    3.     Is it possible to use wsimport to generate client stub that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to it?
    4.     Do I need to put the “cacerts” to some specific weblogic directory?

    I received a workaround by an internal message.
    The how to guide is :
    -Download the wsdl file (with bindings, not the one from ESR)
    -Correct it in order that the schema corresponds to the answer (remove minOccurs or other things like this)
    -Deploy the wsdl file on you a server (java web project for exemple). you can deploy on your local
    -Create a new logicial destination that point to the wsdl file modified
    -Change the metadata destination in your web dynpro project for the corresponding model and keep the execution desitnation as before.
    Then the received data is check by the metadata logical destination but the data is retrieved from the correct server.

  • Using 2 web services data sources in the same report

    I've been trying unsuccesffuly to use 2 web services data sources in a report. The main report accesses the first web service to get job summary information. 3 fields are are passed as parameters to a sub-report and used as parameters for the sub-report selection. Each report works fine independently, but when I link them together the subreport alway fails to retrieve data.

    Please re-post if this is still an issue or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly:

  • Web Service Call with Basic Authentication does not work

    If I try to use Basic Authentication in my Web Service Client with the automatically created methods
    setUsername(inUserName)
    setPassword(inPassword)
    setAddress(inAddress)
    the application does not make a call. Did I forget something?
    Is it possible to use "Test Method" with Basic Authentication?
    Thank you.

    Thank you for your answer.
    But: I already read this article. And it doesn't help me.
    I use the following code:
                getMyServiceClient1().setUsername(inUserName);
                getMyServiceClient1().setPassword(inPassword);With this code I always get a java.lang.NullPointerException.
    The methods setUsername and setPassword are definded as follows:
    public void setUsername(String inUserName) {
            myStub._setProperty(Stub.USERNAME_PROPERTY, inUserName);
      public void setPassword(String inPassword) {
            myStub._setProperty(Stub.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, inPassword);
      }But if I look at the methods which are generated automatically by Sun Java Studio Creator I cannot find _setProperty.
    I also found this thread in your forum:
