Use of CSS in Web Reports

When we use DesFormat = 'HTMLCSS' parameter on our Web report, we get correct output in 80 column report width. However, same parameter with 132 column width report generates distorted output. Headings and columns which are positioned after 80 column, don't print properly.
Which CSS file is used by Oracle Reports when we use the parameter DesFormat = 'HTMLCSS'? Where this file is located? Can we create our own CSS file and use it in place of HTMLCSS?

hello,
the CSS is generated in-line with the HTML file and can therefore not be replaced.

  • Multiple schemas to be used for a single webi report

    Hi,
Recently i got one requorement.as per the requirement i need to develop a single webi report in which i have  to display the data from 7 schemas.i am using the BO XI R 3 version.
Is there any options available to achieve this?
Please provide me your suggestions how better we can implement this?
    Regards,
    Kishore.
Edited by: NandaKishore A.V on Sep 9, 2011 3:46 PM

    Okay then pleace check this:
    1. IN every universe (schema) has to be one or more dimensions wich are equal to other dimensions(keys) in the other universes(schemas) .
    2. There are 7 universes (1 per schema)
    If this is fine then:
    1. Create a documet with the first universe
    2. select all needed objects and what else you need to define
    3. use the Add Query button to add another query from the second universe
    4. select all needed objects and and what else you need to define form the second universe
    5. repeat step 3 and 4 until you are at the seventh universe
    6. run queruies
    7. when the dimensons from the 7 queries are not automatily merged. you have to merge them by hand, this could be done by the merge dimensions button in edit Report panel. There you have to move together the dimensions which are keys.
    8. Now you can display in one table the merged dimensions and all measures. If there are not megred dimensions, which should also be displayed in the table. Is the solution du put them into a variable which is definded as measure and has a measure function like this example =max([Name])
I hope you unstand what i mean, because of my bad english

  • How to use linked filters in webi reports.

    Hii.. all
I want to know how can i  use related or linked filters in webi reports.
that means if i am using three diff filters as f1 for Zone f2 for location and f3 for sales office
then if have selected a zone from the zone  filter (for ex west) then the location filter should show only the locations which comes under that zone and the third filter should show only those sales offices which comes under the selected location from the filter..
    Plz help..
    thanks

    hi Neeraj,
    1. In Universe Take Storename, city, State, region, Country objects
    2. Double click on Storename, go to properties tab and click on edit button. Query panel will open.
    3. Double click on city and click on sort button, double click on state and sort it, double click on region and sort it, double click on Country and sort it.
    4. If you want to keep any condition like particular country, you can drag country object in to the Conditions pane.  If not leave it empty.
5.Click on Save and close button. Save the universe and export it.
    6. In webI drag and drop the Storename object and click on 'Add Quick Filter' button.  Now all the columns you included in the list of values appear in the Add Quick Filter dialog box.
Now You can select the values from here and run the query.  you will get the result.
One more way is there using cascading LOVs
    1. Go to Tools menu > List of values > Create Cascading list of values.
    2. Double click on Country, Region, State, City and Storename.  Close it.
    3. Save and export the universe.
    4. In webi drag and drop the objects in result objects pane, apply query filter and run the query.
Now you will get the result.

    Hello,
You need to create a client-side PL/SQL package as Program Units for your report. In this package you can define a package variable to hold and share your file handle, and create functions to open, write, and close the file. You can call these functions from the Before Report, Formula, and After Report triggers in your report.

  • How to use the SCOM 2012 Web Reporting page

    Hello all-
We are on SCOM 2012 SP1.  I just have a general question about reporting.  I know there is a "Reporting" tab in the real, locally installed, SCOM Operations Console software.  That part I get.  I see that there
are many pre-made reports the for me to run.  For example under Microsoft Server 2008 Operating System (Monitoring) folder there is a
Performance History report.  When I double click on it, it takes me to the report window where I can click
Add Object and add a server and then click
    Run.
This is pretty simple in concept.   BUT very few people at my company have the full Operations Console installed on their machine.  And as I'm sure you know, the SCOM Web Console does not have a Reporting Tab.  So they have to use the
SCOM Reporting website to run such reports.  I found that you can get to this page at the url:
    http://<reporting server>/Reports
This does bring up the Reporting console.  On the list I do see a Report.Windows.Server.2008.PerformanceHistory listed. So this surely seems to be the equivalent from my screenshot above.   However, it's not even close to user friendly like
the Reporting area in the SCOM operations console software. There's multiple fields at the top. All of which are required, and almost none of which have dropbox or other ways to help you fill them in. I have no idea what to put into these boxes or the format
    to use.
What am I missing here?  Is there a more user friendly interface anywhere?  In an ideal world, I'd really love to have a user interface where I can post the links to a few popular reports, like CPU and Disk Space for example.  Then ideally
all the user would have to do is select their servers and the time frame and that's all.   Which really is what you do in the Operations Console software.   So isn't is it that easy in the web reporting tool?  Is there a guide or how-to
section somewhere I'm missing?  Or just a more friendly looking way to get at this information?

Well, my first screen shot above is squished, so you really can't see it.  But what I'm saying is that the same report in the SCOM software has the level of configuration I want on it.   It allows you to pick the date range and add objects
to it, then you can click on Run.     However when I access the same report on the reporting console, it has all these extra fields.  None of which I know how to fill in properly.
I would ultimately like my customers to be able to do exactly that in the web version.  Pick their server and their date range and run it.   There are not likely going to be too many reports like you're mentioning which I can completely configure
before hand, so they just click on the link to have it run.  Most times I'd like my users to at least be able to select a server name.
Any idea how I would simplify the web version of the report?  Or why they look so very different?

  • Using arcsine function on WebI reports

    Hi All,

    Try:
    =MonthNumberOfYear([Order Date])+"/"+DayNumberOfMonth([Order Date])+"/"+FormatNumber(Year(CurrentDate());"####")
    Or,
    =FormatDate([Order Date];"M/d/")+FormatNumber(Year(CurrentDate());"####")

  • BEx Variable Key/Name swap when used as Prompt in WebI report

    Hi,
We are using Bex Variables in a Query used as a base for a BOBJ Universe and Query.
When refreshing the report the Prompt box displays the Name and Key of the infoobject (Dimension), but when selecting one of those values - moving it to the right, it brings across the Name not Key.
Our requirement is that the Key is selected value rather than the name - is this possible? And if so how?

    Ingo,
Thanks, I understand this in the background the Key is used, but is there any way to "swap" the Key and Name in the Prompt box, specifically my users want the Key to display in the right hand side of the Prompt bax when selecting, (or in the dropdown box, in the Prompt tab in WebI)

  • Can Tivoli (TWS) be used for scheduling WebI reports in BO XI 3.1?

I am trying to figure out if it is possible to schedule WebI reports to refresh using TWS?
We are using BO XI 3.1 SP2 deployed on unix and would like to use TWS to refresh WebI reports that are built on SAP BW Bex queries.  Does anyone have any experience scheduling WebI reports using TWS with XI 3.1?  Any information you can provide would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hi
I can think of two options:
    1) You define in BO CMC external events  and schedule your reports to wait for them. In the TWS you can schedule an OS script to create the file that triggers the BO external event. The reports will run only after the file is created.
    2) You write  a java program that uses the BOBJ SDK in order to schedule immediately your reports. In the TWS you create a scedule that starts the java program. (You can find examples how to use the SDK here http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/samples )

  • Analysis Office vs Webi report ---Bex query Data mismatch

    I have one Bex query.
I insterted the query in Analysis office for Microsoft edition, and its pulling 985 records, but when i inserted the bex query in Webi report its pulling only 27 records. Any body faced similar problem, explain the solution..?
Using BICS connction for webi report development.
    Environment: BI 4.1 SP5
    Anlaysis office version :  1.4 SP10

    Hi Ingo,
If we make it database delegated then the Webi query returns no results. (Blank results). Moreover there is no exception aggregation
We have tried the following and getting the result correctly,
In the Bex Query We had a Time variable which was based on SAP exit. We removed the SAP exit variable from Bex Query and restricted the period for atime range.
Then created a Prompt in Webi report for the time
    The result is matching.
But still failed to undrstand this because other queries which have SAP exit variables works fine.
Still working around for a convincing solution for this.. Will let you know

I'm using SAP BO Edge BI XI 3.1 STD.
When I schedule the webI Report on Infoview..

And setting the date for scheduling, it is needed to reset the data by calendar( ie. 2009. 07. 20.  -> 2009.07.20.)
What is the reason of failing schedule in WebI report?
I know it was a bug on BOE XI 3.1 and had fixed with FP 1.x.
But SAP BO Edge BI XI 3.1 has no FP yet...
    How can I solve this?

  • Best approach to "migrate" from BEX reports to Webi reports ?

    Hello,
i have read lots of documents regarding best practices on how to built webi reports and universes on top of BW.
But i can't find any document about best approach, not in performance way of thinking but in best way of using reports.
i mean: when end users are coming from bex reports (where they can drill down through hierarhies and use free filters ) to webi reports (where layout is quite beatiful and user can change it easely), this is not the same way of consuming reports.
I come from BO world and are new on reporting on top of BW.
for me webi is good for quite static layout reporting where data is clear and available.of course you can have prompts for interactivy and more accurate reporting.  Drill down is just a functionality but is not the real purpose of the report tool.
So ,according to me there is a gap between both tools (BEX and WEBI) but end users are the same.
So i 'm wondering if you have any feedback for the best approach to build webi reports where end users are coming from bex reporting.
And how to choose between prompts, drill-down (with available filters on top of the window), fold/unfold and input controls or just having diffrent levels of hierarchies in the table/ section/ breaks but without drill down (because if you drill down, report begins weird with diffrent levels) ...?
So , if you have any feedback , advise....
    thanks in advance,
    Rgds,
