  • Using Business area for External Reporting-Pros & Cons?

    Dear Freinds,
We are a Retail Business Group half way through SAP IS Retail implementation. We have 8 legal entities, currently their complete Annual Financials are being made & audited separately. In SAP the structure is that there is Single Co. Code & transactions will be seggregated by Business Area (made manadatory for data entry) and Annual Accounts will be drawn up using Business Area.
This to me does not seem to be the right structure. I have joined the group recently, I will be much thankful to you all if you please help me list the Pros & Cons of using Business Area for external reporting.

Dan: <i>For management reporting you may not want to post eliminations between companies where the business areas are the same.</i>
If the Business wants to see the eliminations between companies, within the same business area, as part of BEx reports, what should I do? They do not want to execute consolidation functions in UCMON but just want to see how the eliminations have taken place between companies with in the same business area.
Dan: <i>As long as the partner company and partner business area are consistently included for the intercompany transactions, the eliminations between Legal and Management will agree at the top-level of each hierarchy.</i>
Have I to introduce one more InfoObject Partner Business Area in the data basis and assign the role Sub-assignment once again?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to use remote directory for external table

    Hi Folks,
    I have 2 Oracle 11GR2 64 bit database installed on Win 2008 server as prod1 and prod2.
I have one directory created on prod1 server as EXT_TAB_DIR using the path as D:\OrsDWtest_dir .
I want to use this directory in Prod2 server and use external table using this remote directory.
I am able to access the Prod1 directory from Prod2 machine and also i have created Network map drive as Z drive pointing to that prod1 D:\OrsDWtest_dir directory. Also i checked read and Write permissions are there . I am able to create the external table but when i try to fetch the data i m getting below error ..
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
    ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    KUP-04040: file IOMM_20121213_060736.csv in EXT_TAB_DIR not found
now my doubt is this possible ? Can we use remote directory for External table ? or is there is there any alternative way to achieve same ?
    Thanks & Regards,

Using Airport Express for External speakers and Apple TV.  When I'm on MAC computer adn using internet sound from Internet does not go through external speakers.  Instead it comes out of Mac computer speaker.  Why?

As far as I know, the Airport Express only transmits sounds via Itunes. So every other sound (internet, but also incoming mail) will be coming out of your mac instead of your external speakers.

Can i use time capsule for external h drive and also for time machine?

    Hello, vascocaco.
If I understand correctly, you're wondering if you can use your Time Capsule's internal hard disk both for Time Machine backups and as an ordinary drive. Is this your question?
You can, but Time Machine backups may take longer.
To do it, you should partition your Time Capsule's hard disk to create one volume for the backups and one for other files.

  • Problem using PAPI-WS for external process notifcation

    Hello,
I'm trying to have an external Java application send a process notification using PAPI-WS.
I have a process instance currently sitting at a notifcation wait step (configured to wait for an external notification) but each time I call processSendNotification I get the an unspported operation exception. • Can I use Signal Express for multiple customers for only the one time $699?

How do I go about distributing Signal Expresss applications to multiple customers?

    Hi Nutter,
Unlike LabVIEW, Signal Express doesn’t have any file distribution capabilities.  If your application uses only basic features, you could install the free LE version of Signal Express on as many computers as necessary.  If you need the full capabilities of Signal Express, however, you would need to purchase a license for each customer.
An alternative to paying for Signal Express for each customer deployment would be to generate LabVIEW code from the Signal Express project and create an executable.  This process is described in the Knowledge Base articles Generate LabVIEW VIs from Signal Express and Deploying VIs generated in Signal Express.  Note that this method requires that you have LabVIEW installed on your development computer with Application Builder capabilities.

  • Is it possible to have 2 display names (one for internal use; the other for external use) in Active Directory?

    The idea:
When communicating amongst our own staff via email we'd like to see our display names in this format:
    Firstname Lastname (Division/Department/Branch/Unit)
Whereas, when we send emails to people outside the company, we'd like to be seen as:
    Firstname Lastname (Company Name)
    Is this technically possible?
    Regards,
    Anthony

Please read about Exchange Simple Display Name if you are using Exchange in your environment. It should be suitable for your needs, but as far I know not every Exchange version support it.
In Exchange 2003 this Simple Display Name was at Advanced tab of user, but now..
With Exchange 2013, SimpleDisplayName is configured using Exchange Management Shell (EMS)
    Example:
    Set-Mailbox ALIAS -SimpleDisplayName $True
..and as with Exchange 2007/2010, you will need to enable UseSimpleDisplayName on RemoteDomain.

  • Use G3 Tower for external HD?

Is it possible to use my G3 as a storage / external hard drive w my MacBook Pro? I have the blue/white G3 only, no monitor. If it is possible, how? Thanks.

As an ethernet based storage device, it would work using the instructions on my FAQ*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/network9X.html
However, the ethernet on that machine is only 10/100, which is much slower than USB 2 or Firewire or Express/34 SATA solutions. The MacBook Pro Express/34 SATA solution is the fastest:

  • I have 2 iphoto libraries but one is lost, missing, cannot seem to find it... tried an apple care person - they were no help - we use Time Machine for external backup... but cannot find my older iPhoto library! I desperately need some help!

I have recently had something really odd happen within iphoto.  My photos from May-Oct 2013 appeared to be missing from my primary Iphoto library.
last night I was trying to find any additional Iphoto libraries on my Imac... I could not find them... but then somehow the May-Oct 2013 library showed up and now I cannot find the "current" primary Iphoto library.   I sought help from apple care today but no solutoin from them after 2 hours trying.  I have timemachine that backs up my Imac each day to an external hard drive.   When I open Iphoto while holding down the "option" key - it lets me choose which Iphoto library... but only (1) library comes up...  I can't figure out what happened - but it seems that I must have more than one Iphoto library because yesterday I was able to see all my photos except the "gap in dates" from May-Oct 2013.  Today - I can only open a Library called Iphoto2014... and it contains the photos from the gap in dates.  I can't "see" any other options to open photos... but just yesterday there appeared to be a different library available.
Any advice or steps i should take to locate my missing photos - would be soooooo much appreciated.

  • Semifin Production for internal AND external customers

One of our plants produces semifin goods that are then transferred via Stock Transport Orders to other plants that finish them up.
That plant would like to be able to also sell these same materials to outside customers. Normally, we would use PIRs for that purpose, however, these materials are all set up as dependent requirements, to be produced against STOs entered at the other plants.
How could we create some additional requirements for production for external customers? Right now we have been using a defunct plant and created STOs from there, but it doesn't really work, especially the billing side of it. We considered creating a Sales Order Type that can be entered ahead of time to produce against. I don't know much about the S&D side, and the dude that tried that finally gave up.
Is there an easier solution that would take care of this situation?
    Thanks,
    MMPP

This sounds strange. STOs - independently from planning startegy - are present as requirements in standard system.
Perhaps in your standard system. Our standard system for FG production is set up as MTS strategy 11, and no, STO's are not taken into account there, as strange as it sounds.
If you use planning strategy 40 you can work with PIRs, SOs, STOs paralelly. You can even achieve to force STOs to behave as SOs (I mean to consume PIRs based on master data settings) in this strategy.
Stock transport orders in planning strategy 40 - consume PIR
Yes, but I can not use strategy 40. Like I mentioned, we deal with perishable goods, and can not make existing stock part of the MRP calculation.
In my opinion you should revise your way of thinking / current pratice since you would gain more profit if you applied standard scenarios instead of force something that cannot be defined exactly.
I am sorry that our situation is different from what you define as your standard scenario.
I mean if your SFGs are considered as FGs (because you sell them to external customers) you should handle them accordingly.
It is probably a bit difficult to understand. But these are semifinished goods that we want to sell to outside customers (who might treat them as raw materials). Not everything in this world can be clearly divided into three categories. Again, I apologize that our situation doesn't conform to what you consider standard.
Why do you want to work only with DepReqs? I cannot understand this...
98% of what that plant will produce are DepReqs = semifinished goods to fulfill STOs from other plants. Does that explain it somewhat?
As I said you should handle the materials as they are handled in reality.
I appreciate your reply... it's a good answer, just not to my question.

  • Installing a separate copy of IDM to support external customers

We currently have IDM 6.0 providing basic provisioning (i.e. login account, email, internet access...) for all associates. Our authoritative source is our PeopleSoft system - and this all works very well. However, we want to use IDM to provision access for our external customers. Now the business process for these external customers is very different than our internal associates. So the authoritative source will be different. And we plan to separate the internal and external accounts into 2 separate Active Directory domains. So we see a fair amount of changes to our existing workflows, forms, extended attributes... So my question is - should we modify our existing IDM 6.0 environment to support these external customers, or should we install another copy of IDM - and modify this new copy for our external customers only. (Our Sun rep said it doesn't cost anything to have IDM installed twice). We see pro's and con's with this. So does anyone have any insight into this? Thanks.

What is the added value of having two IDM installations? Maybe it is extra security. The drawbacks of two installations are double patching; double login for you user admins; the risk of deploying code changes to the wrong instance.
The customizations for external customers have to be done any way. I would stick to one installation, create a new organization for external users at the same 'level' as your existing organization for internal users and create a new AD resource for customers.
    Success!

  • Making Crystal reports to external customers

    Hi
Im making reports for external customers. What do they need to install to see the reports? They have SAP and a database server. Is it enough with a crystal runtime? or do they need to change the connection to their own database and therefor need Crystal 2008 Basic to do that? I´m new with SAP but familiar to Crystal.
    //Elle

    Hi Elle,
Yes they will likely need to set location manually but not completely sure. The integration forum can verify this if you are using that plug-in.
What ever works best for you. ODBC is old technology and MS wanted to get rid of supporting it so OLE DB is the most current or using the native drivers if that works also. If using ODBC then just creating the DSN the reports should work. OLE DB requires the DB server name to be the same as yours so it would require them to set location also, same using the native DB drivers.
Not sure what the best ways to get the reprots to them. Not enough info. If theya re not using Businessobjects Enterprise where you publish the reports to their system then simply sending the report via e-mail will work also.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Implementing AD LDS to Authenticate for External Users

    Hello,
I'm able to find documentation on AD LDS but I can't confirm if it's what I want.
My client is setting up an ecommerce site through Volusion and they want to be able to authenticate using Active Directory for their customers.
I personally don't like the idea of opening up the network for customers. AD LDS seems to be the right solution on a tight budget but I can't confirm if it will work.
    The Environment:
    Server 2012 1: DC; AD; Hyper-V
VM Server 2012 2: File Server (Hosted on Server 1)
VM Server 2012 3: DirSync (Hosted on Server 1)
MS documentation suggests AD LDS not be setup on a DC as well as placing the server in a DMZ. Unfortunately I can't implement a DMZ at the moment. I would like to put AD LDS on the File Sever. There is a web developer working on the ecommerce side, I just
have to provide the authentication. I'm going to try a trial version of OneLogin, but for a couple thousand users, it could get expensive.
    Questions:
What resources are recommended for AD LDS? (RAM, HDD Space, etc.) I only need AD LDS right now for 5-10 users but if I decide to go with it, it would need to handle a couple thousand accounts.
Is there special process of creating a SSL Certificate for authentication? Or should one be purchased?
    How secure is AD LDS?
Does anyone know of any good how-to guides for linking AD LDS to an external PHP site?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Jake

    Hi Jake,
Based on my research, AD LDS provides flexible support for directory-enabled applications, without the dependencies that are required for Active Directory Domain Services, which doesn’t mean that it is more secure that AD DS on
    external network.
AD FS is more secure and provides Single-Sign-On function. If you don’t have web applications on external network which require SSO, here is another suggestion for you: deploy a RODC.
Deploying a RODC is a simple solution, you can select users which need to authenticate from external network, and store their credentials on RODC. In addition, due to its read-only feature, it can be placed in locations where physical
    security cannot be guaranteed.
