Use of variable in interface

Hello
I have a variable which contains this instruction : select max(ID)+1 from table1
In an interface I try to map the ID of table1 with this variable but I always have the same error : violation of PK.
I tried with a sequence too but same issue

In operator :*
Step 0 - variable decalaration : OK
Step 1 - refreshing variable : OK
Step 2 : Fail
drop work table : OK
Create work table : OK
Load data : OK
Analyze work table : OK
Insert new rows : Fail
SQL Code at this step :*

  • How to use a variable between interfaces or class?

    Hello All;
    Far by now I can say that the forum is very helpful for me. Thanks for all the people who have the time and generosity to help our problems. Thank you.
    Unfortunately I have a problem <Again :( >
    I want to use a variable in two different *.java files.
    Is it possible?
    The Variable i want to use is; int CiftSayisi
    The variable is declared in the CamCalib.Java under a button's Action Listener.
    Here is the code;
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent arg0) {
                        ImagePair.main(null);
                        String[] ImPath = list.getItems();                                           //Storing Items in an Array
                        Dimension dim = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();                     //Dimensions of the Screen Storing in an object
                        int ScreenHeight = dim.height;                                           //Definition ScreenHeight
                        int ScreenWidth = dim.width;                                          //Definition ScreenWidth
                        // System.out.println(ScreenHeight);                                                    //Testing of the Dimensions
                        // System.out.println(ScreenWidth);                                                     //Testing of the Dimensions
                        int CiftSayisi = ImPath.length -1 ;
                        if (CiftSayisi == 0){
                             System.out.println("Added Images do not Construct a Pair");
                        else {
    }Now i want to use it in another java file which is ImagePair.Java in the loading part of the interface;
                 setType(Type.UTILITY);
              setTitle("Image Pair Selection");
              setResizable(false);
              setAlwaysOnTop(true);
              setBounds(100, 100, 450, 68);
              contentPane = new JPanel();
              contentPane.setBorder(new EmptyBorder(5, 5, 5, 5));
              setContentPane(contentPane);
              contentPane.setLayout(null);
              textField = new JTextField();
              textField.setBounds(61, 11, 22, 20);
              textField.setEditable(false);
              textField.setEnabled(false);
              contentPane.add(textField);
              textField.setColumns(2);I have a text field in here that i need to fill with the value of CiftSayisi

    I didn't bother reading the code, since you didn't format it.
    But to answer your question (if I understand it correctly), yes, it is possible to pass variables between different object instances (not from an interface specifically, since interfaces don't have members). The simplest way to pass the variable as an argument to a method or constructor. If these aren't available, you could create a static global variable, though in a multithreaded app you'd have to synchronize access.

    Hi Krishna,
    What is the datatype of the Variable lastupdate ?
    In my case
    Variable
    Name : LastUpdateDate
    Datatype : Alphanumeric
    Action : Historize
    Query : select to_char(to_date(sysdate,'DD-MON-YY'),'DD-MON-YY') from sys.dual
    Then in filter I used
    EMP.HIREDATE>to_date('#LastUpdateDate','DD-MON-YY')
    Thanks

  • How do  I use a variable from an Interface class?

    Right now I have three classes. First class is called Game and it extends my second class call Parent and also implements my third class call Source. Source is an interface class. I have a variable that I want to use in my Source class named Checker. Now, How do I go among using that variable from my Game class? What should the code look like?
    ex.
    public class Game extends Parent implements Source
    need help badly....

    ok, what I forgot to tell you guys is that my variable
    in my interface class is a boolean type(true or
    false). It is set to true now. But I want it to change
    to false when a user triggers a button in the Game
    class. How do I do this? You don't because you can't. If you have a varaible declared in an interface it must be static and final. It cannot, therefore, be changed. Better head back to the drawing board.

  • How can I use a variable for an interface log and error fle

    I want to use a variable for the interface's log and error file so that when I migrate from Dev to QA to Prod I don't have to do a lot of editing.
    Specifically on the "flow" tab for the "target", I want a variable to be the first part of the path for the log (\\sundev1\fnd1-hypd1) and join this with the rest (\update\log\logfile.log) within the LOG_FILE_NAME field.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    It is quite simple....
    just use the <%=odiRef.getSchemaName("D")%> before the file name and configure both path in the topology linked to each context.

  • Using a variable in netsh command to set ip address on NIC

    hi friends
    i wrote an script which gets an input & use that variable to set ip address on NIC. but actually it doesn't set ip address. may you please help me.
    my script contains:
    $VMNumber=Read-Host "please enter your VM number (for example 2)"
    Netsh interface ipv4 set address NIC static 192.168.1.$VMNumber

    1. I do not thing that the use of netsh is a right way.
    2. You will need a table with MAC address in first column and IP address in second to correctly map IP address to computer. MAC addresses are unique identification.
    3. Follow this article including comments and adapt scripts to your task

    hi Milos
    thank a lot for your useful answer.
    but let me say that my need has nothing to do with MAC address.
    in my test lab, i need an script which asks the administrators to enter their VM number & it saves this input as a variable & set is as the last octet in their VM IPV4 Address.
    so can we tell it as a rule that variables we create in powershell, can't be used inside non cmdlets (inside legacy cmd commands) ?

  • How to default bind variable using session variable at run time

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where all VO queries (multiple VOs) produce only records that meet a certain value.
    For example, I have three tables with 3 VOs and each of them has a one-to-many relationship to another table (let's call it ref table and this table has a field called release). One of the 3 VOs is a parent/master table, and the other two are child tables. I created a VO for master table that linked to the ref table and created a view criteria using the release (use bind variable) field from the ref table. The other child tables have their own VO that has view criteria that also linked to ref table using the release field.
    On the UI page, I created a query component and a table from the master table VO. I also dropped the child table VOs in a tabbed panel which partial triggered by the master table. When I ran a query for a 'release' (hint: ref table value), the table for master table was filled the correct records that meet the criteria. Unfortunately, the child tables were not correct due to the query didn't use the bind variable that filter only records for the same 'release' value as the master table.
    The question is how do I 'default' or dynamically set the bind variable on the child tables based on the selection criteria from the query component. I am thinking to set a session variable from the query and use it in the bind variable in the child table, but not sure how to do it.
    Any suggestion how to do it or better solution to achieve the same effect?

    Hi,
    How about creating a custom AMImpl method, that takes parameters as required, and set the bind variables for all the desired VOs and perform executeQuery on them.
    You could expose this as client interface, and then use the method as parameter form.
    Check this thread for ex.

  • Data and Dashboard Security using ROLES Variable in OBIEE 11g

    Hi all,
    I'm currently using OBIEE 11g. I'm wondering how to implement the security for data and dashboard in the 11g.
    Below is the sample of how the security matrix requirement when I use the 10g version. In 10g, we usually use GROUP (for the data filter in RPD) and WEBGROUPS (for dashboard objects) variables in my initialization block to read from database. As we have 2 different variables, it is possible to control security separately for data and dashboard.
    GROUP | Country
    G1 | US
    G2 | FR
    G3 | UK
    WEBGROUPS | Dashboard
    WG1 | D1
    WG2 | D1
    WG3 | D1
    WG1 | D2
    WG2 | D2
    WG1 | D3
    WG3 | D3
    WG3 | D4
    Now, in 11g, the recommendation is to use ROLES variable (for application role). So, how would I apply the required security matrix above in 11g using just ROLES variable? Do I still create G1, G2, G3, WG1, WG2, and WG3 as application roles then only use G1-3 in the RPD to filter the data and only use WG1-3 in the analytics to serve as webgroups?
    Any advice on this? Thank you very much.

    "...Could you elaborate more?"
    I mean that role creation and user->role assignment will be managed outside of to the obiee interface - whether that's via the database, LDAP, fmw etc.
    Webgroup creation and assignment is managed within the obiee interface and I think that has a lot of benefits - generally you have people responsible for shared folders and dashboard creation, so having them responsible for webgroups and presentation permissions is preferable for me.
    "are you saying that I use the role G1-3 only in the RPD, while using the role WG1-3"
    Yes .. I'm assuming you have something like
    G1 | US
    G2 | FR
    G3 | UK
    WG1 | Finance
    WG2 | Marketing
    WG3 | Sales
    Which becomes
    R1 | US
    R2 | FR
    R3 | UK
    R4 | Finance
    R5 | Marketing
    R6 | Sales
    And John belongs to R1 and R4, Fred belongs to R2 and R4 etc. So you would set your data filters against R1-R3 and use R4-R6 like webgroups in the presentation services.

    Robert

  • Using global variable in package

    Hi. I have created a function (Retrieve_SerialNo) which returns a variable, which I use throughout my package. I would like to assign this variable as a global variable to be used by all functions and procedures in the package. Can someone help me in the declaration of this variable as a global variable? Also, is it necessary for me to initialize this variable whenever the package executes. If yes, how would I do this?
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY Supply_Item_Interface AS
    FUNCTION Retrieve_SerialNo RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
        v_serial_no VARCHAR2(20);
        CURSOR Serial_Code IS
          SELECT S.Serial_Code
            FROM Spare_Parts s, Orders r
           WHERE s.serial_code = r.serial_code;
      BEGIN
        OPEN Serial_Code;
        LOOP
          FETCH Serial_Code
            INTO v_serial_no;
          EXIT WHEN Serial_Code%NOTFOUND;
          v_serial_no := v_serial_no;
        END LOOP;
        CLOSE Serial_Code;
        RETURN v_serial_no;
      EXCEPTION
        WHEN OTHERS THEN
          RETURN NULL;
      END;

    Hi. I have created a function (Retrieve_SerialNo) which returns a variable, which I use throughout my package. I would like to assign this variable as a global variable to be used by all functions and procedures in the package.All variables have scope or "visibility". A variable defined in a procedure is only visible within that procedure.
    A variable defines in a package body. is visible within that package body (i.e. procedures and functions in that package body can "see" that variable.
    A variable defined in the package definition? Well, who can see the definitions of procedures and function in a a package header/definition? Everyone else basically (other PL/SQL packages and procedures and functions). So this is also true for variables defined in the package interface. These are global variables that not only can be used by the code in that package's body, but also can be used by other packages and PL/SQL code.
    So when you create a global variable you need to decide on its scope:
    - define it in package header for global usage in all PL/SQL code
    - define it in package body for global usage within that package only
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY Supply_Item_Interface AS
    ..snipped..Ugly code as there is no need to use an explicit cursor if returning a value from a single row. Also buggy code. If there are multiple rows returned by the cursor, the function returns the serial of the last random row. How does this make sense?
    This is what I would expect to see from a function like this. You pass it a unique identifier and it returns the applicable attribute (column) value for it.
    E.g.
    create or replace function GetSerialNo( orderNo number ) return number is
      serialNo number;
    begin
      select
        s.serial_code into serialNo
      from spare_parts s,
           orders o
      where s.serial_code = o.serial_code
      and o.order_no = orderNo;
      return( serialNo );
    exception when NO_DATA_FOUND then
      return( null )
    end;Also note that there is no need to write ugly uppercase code. This is not a proper coding standard. Programming standards for all languages (ranging from C# to Java to Delphi to Visual Basic to C/C++) specify that camelcase should be used for variables and pascalcase for procedures/functions/methods. Uppercase is very seldom used and then only for constant names and compiler options/flags for example.
    Coding reserved words in uppercase? That is just plain silly - and not found in today's programming languages. Do yourself a favour and forget the idiotic standards used by some for PL/SQL and look at the standards for Java and .Net/C# - as the latter are the de facto standards for programming (and have been for the last 2 decades and more).

  • Help! with creating a J2ME program using the http connectivity interface

    So this is what I have to do using the http connectivity interface:
    1.Creating two threads – one for communication (receiving and sending) and the other (main) thread will be for interaction with the user.
    2.The main thread will make use of three midlet forms. The first form will ask for web page address (URL) and separately for a delimiter which will separate the words in the URL document, the third form will display the ratio of all symbols on the page and the number of occurrences of the delimiter specified
    3.The second thread should perform http connectivity to the WWW, utilise the web page address supplied and connect to the appropriate web page and read its content, count all symbols on the chosen page, count the number of occurrences of the delimiter given as user input on the same form as the web page address, calculate the ratio between the two and pass this information to the first thread to display.
    I have many questions but my main concerns are:
    *1. How to communicate using HTTP interface within a thread*
    *2. What is a delimiter in the context above and how should it be implemented*
    I've been thrown in at the deep end with little programming experience with this assignment. If anyone can share a similar example or answer my concerns I'd be more than happy.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi thanks for the response.
    As I said I have coded in other languages before, but this is a new for me in java. I needed to get it working quickley. Now I can clean up.
    I will have a look at method and see how I get on.
    ANy similiar examples would be great.
    Thanks.I can certainly give you a similar example.
    Say you have code such as this:
      int a = 10, b = 11;
      int temp = 1;
      for(int i = 2; i < a; ++i) {
       temp *= i;
      System.out.println(a + " factorial is " + temp);
      temp = 1;
      for(int i = 2; i < b; ++i) {
       temp *= i;
      System.out.println(b + " factorial is " + temp);Each section of code takes the factorial of the current variable an outputs it. The factorial code can be placed within a method to be called more easily, as such:
    public void factorial(int num) {
    int temp = 1;
    for(int i = 2; i < num; ++i) {
      temp *= i
    System.out.println(num + " factorial is " + temp);
    }Then, whenever you need to call it, you can just do so:
    int a=10,b=11,c=12;
    factorial(a);
    factorial(b);
    factorial(c);

    Thank you

  • Using of variables

    Hi All,
    I have around 1200 rows of data to be populated into the table. I have created 6 global variables with action as 'HISTORIZE'. The result of one variable is the input for other variable. So final value from 6th variable is inserted into the table.
    When I am executing the variable is fetching the first value only. It is not taking all the 1200 values.
    I want to know, whether I am using correct action or not. If NO, what action I need to use or is anting else I need to do.
    These all variables as declared as refresh variables in PKG.
    If I am putting the 1st variable as non persistent then the related 2nd varaible is getting error out.
    Please help me with this.
    Thank You in Advance.

    Hi,
    I am putting all the global variables and interfaces into a package and running the loop.
    The flow is like this
    var1---->var2----->var1(set variable)---->var1(evaluate variable)--true-->endloop---false--->var3---->var4--->var5--->var6--->interface--->procedure--->var1(setvariable)
    all the variables are alphanumeric.
    In var1(set variable) I have assigned '#var1'+1.
    when the execution comes to var3 it is getting error out with following error.

  • Using a variable in communication channel

    Hi,
    I have a lot of Communication Channels looking for files in the same directory. This directory's path will be changed soon and so I assume I'll have to change all my Communication Channels.
    I was wondering whether there was a means of using a variable for the Source Directory in order to just have to change its value where it is defined and not every where it is used...
    Regards
    Yann

    Hi,
    Is this a sender file adapter? or a receiver file adapter?
    You can make a change / make the receiver file adapter's directory dynamic by setting the value during runtime in the mapping.
    Use  this blog and the code in the blog to acheive this,
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    Sender File adapter, I dont think this is possible.

    can any one tell the meaning of folowing which is in the sheet "vars utilisation" of PLD_Vars_march2007 xls file
    " it means that this variable can be used only under certain repetitive area exclusive numbers (109, 126, 132, 135, 139, 148, 149, 309, 316, 427, 502, 509, 686)

    Hi,
    It is a special variable available for the VAT summary part, not to be used in the rows but in a separate repetitive area.
    To display the respective VAT rates in each row, create a database field instead: Tax Definition - Rate%. It will populate the VAT percentage for you.
