Use robocopy for mirroring

Hello  everyone!
I use robocopy for mirroring some file resources at win2012 by using bat-file with scheduler.
But I have some troubles, and i can't find a resolution. Maybe someone could explain me:
Robocopy command: robocopy I:\folder \\serv\d$\folder /mir /zb /sec /w:1 /r:3 /LOG:folder.log
Scheduler event: an attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (0x8007000B)
Robocopy log:
Total    Copied   Skipped  Mismatch    FAILED    Extras
    Dirs :          534336      2939         0         0         0      2820
   Files :   4578130       77652     4500413    0        65     69383
   Bytes :   5.563 t  39.898 g   5.524 t         0   16.43 m   1.104 g
   Times :   3:20:52   1:10:21                       0:03:15   2:07:15
How can I analyze the scheduler event, and how can I find 65 "failed" files?
 Thanks for any help!

Hi,
Please try to search for the word ERROR in the output file will find the rows in the log file indicating the reason for the failure.

I am using iPad 3 and I try to use 30-pin Digital AV adaptor for mirroring on my Samsung HD TV.  Unfortunately it is not a full screen projection.  Anyone can help?

The iPad Screen is almost square, HD TVs are rectangular so will never be full screen.  When watching movies, the movies native aspect ratio will be used rather than the iPads screen aspect ratio so will look full screen if the movie is full screen, but most likely will be seen in wide screen letter box format. with black bars across the top and bottom as that what most movies from iTunes are in, format wise

  • Using RAID 1 mirror for backups

I am considering setting up a RAID 1 volume (1 primary and 1 secondary disk) and using the secondary mirror as the source for archive to a file-server. This should give me a perfect snapshot in time of my volume and the read access from the volume would not affect system performance too much. The strategy I have in mind is to remove the mirror from the RAID 1 volume, mount it as a normal volume and make a backup from it (using EMC Retrospect) to a file server over our network. Once the backup is done, I would unmount the mirror and reconnect it to the primary disk to recreate the RAID volume.
    My questions are:
    1) Is this possible with OS X's built-in RAID functionality?
    2) Am I better off with using SoftRAID 3?
    3) Will the rebuild of the RAID volume be as if it was from scratch (that is, would it take too long for a 150GB volume)?
    4) If I have two 150GB disks (SATA), can I make the entire disk one RAID volume and still boot from it?
    5) If the answer to Q4 is "no", with OS X's built-in RAID, can I make a RAID volume out of partitions from two disks? In other words, am I forced to use whole disks for a RAID members in OS X?
Your help in this would be very much appreciated.
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Using mirrored RAID is NOT my sole backup method. It is part of it. The idea is to backup a secondary mirror to an tape or disk based backup system on our file server using EMC Retrospect. This would provide recovery from deleted or modified files.
The need to unmount a mirror from backup comes from my desire to have perfect snaphots-in-time for backup. Backing up a live filesystem can lead to inconsistent states in the backup. For example, backing up 50G over a network can take several hours. If, for example, you are writing an article that contists of several files, and you had a draft of file #1 that was copied to the backup. A little later, while editing file #2, you decided to move some text from it to file #1. After moving this, file #2 is backed up, with the moved text removed from it. The end-result in the backup is that the text is in neither file #1 or file #2.
Backing up live file-systems has this inherent danger. One way of avoiding it is to create an instant snapshot of the entire file system to a second drive and backup from that drive. The mirrored secondary drive in the RAID system would have this snapshot, continually updated. It would have to be disconneted from the RAID set before the backup from it is started in order to preserve the snapshot's consistency.

  • Solaris 10 cannot mirror using SVM for SFV440 server

I have tried to use LVM to configure the c1t2d0s0 and c1t3d0s0 but fail.
Below are the commands I used:
    #metadb -f -a -c 4 /dev/dsk/c1t2d0s7
    #metadb -a -c 4 /dev/dsk/c1t3d0s7
    #metainit -f d10 1 1 c1t2d0s0
    #metainit -f d20 1 1 c1t3d0s0
    #metainit d0 -m d10
(modify the /etc/vfstab file to /dev/md/dsk/d0 and /etc/md/rdsk/d0)
    #init 6
After reboot the server, metadb are deleted. Cannot mount the /dev/dsk/d0.
    I have 8 SFV440 servers total. 7 SFV440 servers with mother-board (p/n:
    501-6910) cannot mirror. 1 SFV440 server with mother-board (p/n: 501-6344)
is wotking fine can use LVM to mirror the data disk. All the configuration
are same. (hardware and OS (Solaris 10 03/05)used)

    Try the following commands:
First make sure that the metadb partitions are unmounted and big enough to hold the metadb's.
Second make sure both sides of the mirrors are the exact same size. Mirroring will fail if the 2nd half of the mirror is smaller than the first half.
I would then newfs and fsck the metadb partitions.
    #metadb -f -a -c 2 /dev/dsk/c1t2d0s7
    #metadb -f -a -c 2 /dev/dsk/c1t3d0s7
    # make sure the metadbs exist

    #metainit -f d20 1 1 c1t3d0s0
    #metainit d0 -m d10
(modify the /etc/vfstab file to /dev/md/dsk/d0 and /dev/md/rdsk/d0)
    # check out to see if the one way mirror exists
    metastat
    #init 6
    # Don't forget to attach the 2nd half of the mirror
    # metattach d0 d20

Yeah, I'm having the same exact problem - It seems that the thunderbolt minidisplay port is only able to output the analog VGA signal, not the digital signal to support DVI and HDMI. This is a bug that came up after installing 10.7.1. I bought my macbook air with 10.7 on it, upgraded it to 10.7.1 as soon as I got it, so I have never been able to use hdmi or dvi with my macbook air. This is an extremely frustrating problem for me, I used HDMI on a daily basis with my PC. I have spent many hours at the genius bar running diagnostic tests so Apple can get as much information as possible to create a fix for this problem. I have been emailing tech support for 3 or so weeks now, they keep saying that they are working on a fix and it should be out soon, but 10.7.2 has come and gone and I still have no HDMI functionality with my MacBook Air!

  • Want to use ipad for wireless presentations

want to use ipad2 for wirelee presentation on a 16:9 screen but if using apple tv the icon screen does not stretch to fill while video still fills the screen. can i get both to fill the screen? Or is there a way of using a 2nd ipad as a mirror and cable connecting it ?

I just downloaded Pocket Light Meter.  After I turn on the additional settings, I can see foot candles , however when I compare it to my actual light meter to check the validity of the Pocket Light Meter, they are way off.    Any idea how to calibrate it or to check if possibly I am doing something wrong??

  • Having multiple user accounts and using apple tv mirroring breaks and also compromises privacy?

I've got a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 iMac from Feb 2012 and the newest Apple TV 2 that I bough t a few months ago (June 2012 I think).
On my iMac I set up a second user account besides my primary account to allow my ladyfriend to use Apple TV mirroring to watch movies from my user account's Public folder.  It worked for a short time and then (now I wonder if this was when 10.8.1 was released) it ceased to work.
    Here's what happens now:
    1. I log in as the TVwatching account (leaving my primary account logged in)
    2. In the TVwatching account I switch on Apple TV mirroring and the result is (on the mirrored screen, not the iMac) an alternating glitchy green screen with bits of the TVwatching account's desktop and then bits of my primary account's desktop flashing in the background
    3. I turn off mirroring
    4. I log back in as my primary account (leaving TVwatching user logged in) and turn on mirroring and the mirrored display looks just fine
    5. I turn off mirroring
    6. Log back into the TVwatching account (leaving the primary user logged in) and this time, when I turn on mirroring, it's clearly viewing my primary user's account --- HELLO PRIVACY BREACH!!! Also, no green screen and no flip-flop flashing of the two user's desktops.
When I log out my primary user and just log into TVwatching account it works as expected but I would think I should be able to have multiple user account support since I leave my computer (and my primary account) on all the time.
One thing I will try is the newly released 10.8.2 update (installing as I write this) and I'll see if I can still reproduce.

I should add that I did a system restore of the Apple TV this evening too and was still able to reproduce, as well as the firmware update that was available.  As far as I can tell, the Apple TV is up to date on the latest everything.

  • Is there any way to avoid a huge memory spike when using CGContextDrawImage for a high resolution image?

    Hi,
I'm trying to fix the orientation of an UIImage in my app (iPad 2, iOS 7). I'm using the method described here: https://gist.github.com/alex-cellcity/1531596, but a huge memory spike appears when CGContextDrawImage is called. The image size I'm trying to fix is 2848x4288.
Anybody knows any algorithm to avoid this huge spike?
    Thanks,
    Roberto.

While I never done iOS code it appears that the code you link to basically does the following:
    takes a large image A
generates a transformation matrix by doing rotation in 90 degree increments and by mirroring
    creates a large image B
draws image A into B using the transformation matrix
    releases memory for image A
    goes on using image B
This results in a memory peak as you have two large images in RAM, until image A gets deallocated, which can't be done until B has been drawn.
I can see two possible solutions to this, both which probably require you to explicitly modify individual pixels:
    1) Try to simplify the solution - if 180 degree rotation and mirroring is enough to solve your image issues, then a simple in-place (same bitmap) pixel swap could be done.
    2) Find more memory -  if you need 90, 270 or arbitrary degrees of rotation as well, you could instead keep either image A or B on disc.
Keep image A on disc: read pixels from disc and place appropriately in image B. This may require you to first load image A and write it back to disc as ARGB data (one byte for each color) for easy access.
Keep image B on disc: get pixel from image A and place it at the right location in image (file) B - this will require pre-creating a file of the correct size for Bs ARGB data and then moving the insertion point for writing around. When done dealloc image A and load image B.
Keep image A and B on disc: combine using disc for image A and B - this will minimize RAM usage but will probably be the slowest solution and will increases disc (SSD/flash) load and wear.

  • Is an AppleTV and Wireless Router Needed for Mirroring Screen?

Is an AppleTV and a Wireless Router Needed for Mirroring from a desktop monitor to an HDTV?

    It is one way.
You can also use a mini Display Port to HDMI adapter, and an HDMI cable. A Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter works too.
You might be able to get away with an Apple TV and no WiFi router, if you use an Ethernet cable from the Mac to the Apple TV (never tried it, but it should work in theory).
You may even be able to use an adhoc network with an Apple TV and no WiFi router, but I think the setup would be annoying each time you wanted to mirror and you would give up internt access while the adhoc network was active.

I will try that. Thank you.  I am hoping to buy a wifi hotspot, but wondered what type of data plan I should get if I were to use it consistantly for 8 hours a day (only on saturdays and sundays).  A great tool for work & presentations!!
It will use minimal internet bandwidth unless your content is streaming from web>iPad>AppleTV.
Local network comms for content already on the iPad (eg presentations) will not generally use internet bandwidth apart from protected iTunes material that requires brief internet authorisation.

  • Sharing Breaks After Migrating Data Using ROBOCOPY

I am using ROBOCOPY (run from the 2008 R2 server) to migrate data from a Windows 2003 clustered array to a Windows 2008 R2 clustered array and am experiencing sharing issues at the new location.
    Command Line: robocopy "\\NAS1W2003\Folder1" "\\NAS2W2008\Folder1" /S /E /PURGE /COPY:DATSOU /DCOPY:T /LOG+:"D:\RoboCopyLogs\Robocopy.log" /TEE /R:5 /W:0
If I create a new folder under the root of the new drive, sharing works correctly on it, along with applying sharing specifically to any sub-folders. However, anytime I move data with ROBOCOPY, as defined in the command above, and I share
the parent folder, ALL sub-folders show up shared as indicated by the Share Status at the bottom of the explorer window, but do not show up shared in properties. Also, when I click on the Share tab, the property window freezes for awhile before showing the
Share tab. Any attempt to alter sharing on these sub-folders is futile, even if I create a new sub-folder under the parent folder. Security is copyied correctly and sharing works fine on the copied parent folder, but is disfunttional on all sub-folders.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the behavior. Thanks for your input.

    Hi,
Robocopy should not affect Share permissions as it will not copy it to new location.
Please compare the Share permission in each server to see if there is any difference. Share permission could be found in registry here:
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares
TechNet Subscriber Support in forum |If you have any feedback on our support, please contact [email protected]
Why do we have to export the registry from the old file server and then re-import the registry to the new file server when the server name is totally different?
can't we just right click on the folder and then share it as normally while the old server name can be edited from DNS CNAme ?

  • Qosmio G30-163 asks if I'd like to set HDD2 for mirroring

I've just received my new G30-163. Every time I switch it on it asked if I'd like to set up HDD2 for mirroring. I always hit cancel, but it repeates the request with every start up. As a result, my second drive does not show up and can not be used. I have tried reinstalling the whole system from the disk provided, but I still get the same request upon completion.
I really don't want to have to go through sending the computer back, so I'm hoping you can tell me how to fix it from here.

I dont know how you have changed this option but as far as I know the RAID mirroring can be set in the BIOS.
As far as I know Toshiba strongly discouraged changing the RAID configuration in the BIOS because selecting the wrong settings might destroy the data on your hard disk drives.
In some special circumstances, however, configuring the RAID in the BIOS is required, e.g. to prepare a fresh hard disk drive for RAID operation
But please take extra care when changing the RAID configuration to avoid accidental loss of data!
    1. Turn on your notebook and press [ESC] until a message appears: "Check system. Then press [F1] key."
    2. Press [F1] to enter the BIOS Setup.
    3. Press [PGDN] twice to move to the third BIOS page.
    4. Move the cursor to the Create State entries and change the states as required (you cannot change the Current State entries).
    5. Press [Space] to cycle through all possible RAID scenarios possible.
    6. Then move the cursor to Execute Creation.
    7. A message appears at the bottom of the screen:
"Warning: If you change RAID array, you need to install OS again."
    8. Press [Space].
    9. Another message appears at the bottom of the screen: "Are you sure? All data on the HDD(s) will be destroyed. Do you really want to do this? If "Yes", please type the key string which is written in the manual."
    10. Enter [1][2][3][4] and then [Enter].
    11. Finally press [END] to exit the BIOS Setup and [Y] to confirm any other BIOS changes.
    Note:
The RAID-1 (mirroring) stored data twice (on both HDD) so that even if there are problems with on of the HDD the other HDD can be used to recover the data.
Please read more about RAID in your user manual!!!

When I use AirPlay to mirror a video through my iPad there is a lag at times. Does anyone know how to improve this?

Since I updated my apple TV firmware the other day to 4.4.2 (3160) My video streamed from my iphone 4s loads inconsistently, and more troubling, much more slowly that with the previous version of the software.
Since I'm not technically, 'mirroring' as you are, on it's face, doesn't seem related. I'm just throwing this out since after looking for comments about radical changes in airplay after this update, I couldn't find much on this.
Did you install  this latest Apple TV update?  For me it's an  obvious difference. Previously I could start the airplay from my phone and not really have delays for loadiing or buffering. I don't have any other  'load' on my wifi or anything new that could be delaying the link from phone to airpay.
    Anyone?.....

  • Since loading IOS 7 I can't use AppleTV to mirror my iPad on Go To Meeting or Fuze. Any ideas to solve

I Use appletv to mirror my iPad Fuze meeting and Go to Meeting presentations. Since IOS7 I cannot see airplay when transmitting the presentation

From what I've ready, Fuze should already be compatible with iOS 7.
Have you tried restarting your iPad? Press and hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously. Don't release until you see the Apple logo. Try again and see if that helps.
If not, try restarting your Apple TV and wireless router.
If all that fails, reset all your network settings on iPad. You will lose your passwords for Wifi, but you can easily enter those. Look in...
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will be asked for your passcode. Once reset, log back into your WiFi network and try again.
