Use Windows Performance Monitor on WLS 6.1 SP4?

Hi,
I wonder whether it's possible to use the Windows Performance Monitor to monitor WLS 6.1 SP4 performance counters.
I would like this obviously to be able to save counters from WLS and Windows in one file for later analysis.
If it's possible. What do I have to do to make it work? I have just installed WLS 6.1 incl SP4.

performance monitoring APIs or native WMI. It's a technically difficult challenge
to link these two components together (requiring knowledge of NT internals and
such) .
You may wish to contact a third-party vendor that provides J2EE black-box monitoring
and collection software. Most allow for "offline" analysis, too.

  • Performance Monitoring and WLS 8.1 SP3

I've already send this question to
"weblogic.developer.interest.management" with no answer. Maybe it was the
wrong group so I try again here.
Should I open a case to BEA support ?
I'm trying to use the performance monitoring tool on a WLS 8.1 SP3 server.
I've noticed that it is now included in the full distribution of the
    platform
(apparently not in the service pack 3 where a separate download is
    necessary).
I have installed a the full platform on Win XP SP1 and started the sample
server. After booting, I connect to the console and I try to access the
    'Performance
Monitor' settings by clicking on the corresponding item.
I only get garbage and the server logs the following:

  • Error installing Oracle Counters for Windows Performance Monitor

    Hello,
I have installed Oracle EE 11g 11.2.0.1.0 on a Windows 2008 R2 server. Now, I am using the Oracle Universal Installer to install the Oracle Counters for Windows Performance Monitor 11.2.0.1.0
    Source path is D:\Share\11gR2_win32_11gR2_database_install\database\stage\products.xml
    Installation Type is Custom
    Install Location is C:\app\dmadmin
    Path is C:\app\dmadmin\OraHome_1
I de-select all product components and select the following two:
    Oracle Windows Interfaces 11.2.0.1.0
Oracle Counters for Windows Performance Monitor 11.2.0.1.0
    I get the following error:
OUI-10150:Error: A runtime exception occurred while setting s_digCfgNamingLabelSIDnull in component Database 11g 11.2.0.1.0 . Installation cannot continue for this component.
I am given the choice of Stop installation of all products and Stop installation of this component only which both result in non-installation of selected component.
Does anyone have any advice or solutions for this error? I have tried re-booting the server, but get the same error.
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Stumped

OUI from ORACLE_HOME (OH\oui\bin\setup.exe) cannot be used to install components from 11.2.0.1 installation media (products.xml)
This is documented, but I am not able to locate it now.
Have you checked if the Performance Monitor files are already installed or not?
    Thanks

  • Measure performance of windows 8 machines using windows Performance Toolkit (WPR tool)

I want to create performance baseline for windows 8 machines(like time to winlogon, time to desktop and total boot time etc.). For this I used windows performance toolkit - WPR tool to record or log performance data(using boot scenario) into log file(.etl). I
opened generated ETL file using WPA(windows performance analyzer), in processes section, always I am able to see winlogon.exe and explorer.exe  time more than 2 minutes on different machines. when I did it for windows XP(using xperf) machine
winlogon.exe always showing as less than 30  seconds.
Can you please let me know, how I can get correct data for following tasks using WPR tool:
    1) Time to Winlogon(winlogon.exe)
    2) Time to Desktop(explorer.exe )
    3) Total Boot time
    4) Time to Outlook Start
    5) Time to Full Outlook Load

Anyone have idea about how to get correct performance data for tasks using windows performance toolkit(WPRUI)?

  • Enabling Windows Performance Monitor in CF8

    Platform: Windows 2003 SP2, CF8 Standard (upgraded from CF7)
I can't seem to get the Windows Performance Monitor Counters
for CF8 to work in my newly upgraded installation.
    1) In CF Administrator > Debug Output Settings I tick the
"Enable Peformance Monitoring" option and click Submit Changes.
Message: "Server updated" appears and the box remains ticked.
However If I refresh the page or navigate to another and return,
    the tick is lost.
    2) Restart CF Service
    3) Open Perfmon and click Add Counters
    4) ColdFusion 8 Perfomance Object and Counters are all listed
correctly, BUT there are "no instances" in the box on the right and
therefore the "Add" button is disabled, so I can't add any
    counters.
    5) Checking in CFAdmin again, the "Enable PM" tick is still
    lost.
It all worked in CF7, however that was on W2K3 SP1.
SP2 is a new factor, could that be the cause?
    Thanks.

    Fixed by editing the neo-metric.xml

  • How is solution manager useful for performance monitoring

    Hi,
I want to check expensive sql statements in production and quality systems. How can solution manager be useful for this.
It would be great if anyone can provide me some documentation on this

    Hi,
In Solution Manager, there is an Early Watch Analysis report which is generated and which has section in the report ' Performance Indicator' in that section you will get 2 things :
    1. Top 10 Transaction codes which has huge response times.
    2. Top 10 program which has huge response times.
and after that you also get the list of expensive SQL statement in the report and then you can just optimize the queries and improve system performance.

  • Performance Monitoring RDS

RDS 2012 R2. Our current setup:
1 gateway (also licensing and rdweb)
2 session hosts (with 1 collection)
    1 connection broker
All servers are hyper-v using dynamic memory up to 8GB and 4 vCPU's.
The performance seems poorer than when we had all roles installed on 1 server. How can we monitor performance on these servers? We would like to monitor CPU utilization, RAM usage and disk I/O.

    Hi,
There are several methods\tools for monitoring performance on RDS server. We can try performance monitor (Perfmon) for checking the related task. Other thing there is specified article for this you can go through as per below article.
Performance Tuning Guidelines for Windows Server 2012 R2

Also you can refer following article for information.

  • Java - Weblogic performance monitoring tool

    Hi there,
I would like to use a performance monitoring tool for the JVM 1.2.2.x running on weblogic5.1,
I understand this is quite old version of JVM and already EOL. However We are having performance issue needs to be addressed ASAP.

Free performance monitoring tool? You can try WebLogic Scripting Tool, you
    can download from
    https://codesamples.projects.dev2dev.bea.com/servlets/Scarab?id=S13
You can write your own JMX code to get some runtime status from WebLogic as
    you want.

Is there some free equivalent out there?
Or maybe someone has cooked up some JMX script ?

  • Exchange 2013 Performance Monitor Data Collector Sets

I've noticed that the Exchange 2013 install created two data collector sets within Performance Monitor:
    ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog
    ExchangeDiagnosticsPerformanceLog
These sets are creating daily log files saved in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\Diagnostics\DailyPerformanceLogs that are about 500MB in size, which are filling up our system volume.
I've tried stopping them, but they get restarted automatically. I also tried deleting them, but they get recreated automatically. Is there a way to disable these? We have a 3rd party tool that we use for performance monitoring and would like to avoid having
to delete these log files on a regular basis to keep our system volume from filling up.
As a workaround, I've changed the path where the log files get saved to a non existent drive letter, but would still like to disable the Data Collector Sets completely.
    Thanks,
    -Cory

    Do note,
These performance counters only take up 1 week and not more so it will be about 3-5 GB if you can`t spare this on you c disk you have not implemented any best practise exchange design.
specialy with todays JBOD SATA design your c disk will be 1TB +. Review your designs to match MS advise.
    MCTS-MCITP exchange 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Exchange: 2007 | MCSA Messaging: 2003 | MCP windows 2000
    Hello Martin,
Many of us are implementing exchange in a virtual environment, where disk is at a premium.  Spending money on a 1 TB system drive is not a reasonable expectation.  Even if that is best practice, there should be a way to manage the location and
    size of these log files.
The inability to manage the location of log/performance data for centralization, or other reasons, is one more example of the disconnect between MS and their customer's use cases in regards to 2013.
These are the requirements for 2013 from MS:
At least 30 GB on the drive on which you install Exchange
An additional 500 MB of available disk space for each Unified Messaging (UM) language pack that you plan to install
200 MB of available disk space on the system drive
A hard disk that stores the message queue database on with at least 500 MB of free space.
So your statement is invalid as 30 GB is not even close to deal with the amount of log and performance data that we cannot modify in any way.

  • Performance monitoring tool for Essbase

Currently we are using Zabbix to monitor the resource usage of Essbase database (CPU, memory, disk IO, etc).
We would like to know is there are any other web based monitoring tools that can monitor down to process level. The existing Windows performance monitor is relatively complex and also lack of web based interface for administrator to monitor the processes easily.
We are also looking at Quest Spotlight for Windows but not yet fully explored its capability. We would like to know if there are other choices used by other Essbase administrators.
