Used to Love This Phone - NOT ANY MORE !

Screen and sound quality are all this model has going for it.
Now on my 5th unit in 14 months including 3 in the last month and a half. Verizon keeps sending me refurbished replacements, each with else something wrong. Have wound up wasting several hours each time troubleshooting on the phone with tech support and setting it all up all over again. Worst battery life imaginable whether or not on 4G. Ever heard of a phone where you have to have 6 chargers (bedroom, kitchen, desk, living room, basement, and of course the car) and 3 batteries just to keep going? Locks up, shuts off, and intermittent delays from a few seconds to SEVERAL MINUTES (no joke) when trying to make a call from the call log or going between screens make you want to throw this thing against a wall. Half of my incoming calls wind up with a smashing static sound in my ear and/or just no voice at all. Several Verizon 2nd level tech support reps have admitted getting these kind of complaints about this device nowadays.
This model is an abortion and BOTH Samsung and Verizon should be ashamed to continue selling it. In fact, both companies should offer Droid Charge owners free or almost free trade ups to the Galaxy S3.

Had this problem way before the use of task killers. The battery life is only 1 issue with this phone. 99% of the User Reviews on Verizonwireless.com blast this phone for battery life giving it 1 out of 5 stars.
What about the smashing static sound in my ear and/or just no voice at all on about ½ of my incoming calls that many others here are also complaining about? What about the intermittent delays in the phone's responding when trying to make a call from the call log which others I personally know who have this phone also experience?

VERIZON FIOS: I used to be a fan, not any more.

Long time Verizon and FIOS customer and feeling cheated.
We were upgraded to 50/50 from 25/25, 9 months ago. Lately our services and speed have been really poor. I used the chat feature to solve the problem and provided the technician access to my Mac. End result. Our speed dropped to 5/3 yes that is correct 5 download and 3 upload. He then informed me that he was unable to improve the speed and provided me a # to call. I waited and waited and finally connected to High Speed WI FI. They said I was given the wrong phone # and they transferred me to Sales, who said they could not help me and transferred me to FIOS tech support. Mind you these were not quick transfers. I had to wait and wait and wait and listen to commercials or silence. FIOS Tech support finally figured out that my router is not compatible with 50/50 and that I need a new router, so I was transfered back to sales. I was then connected to a rep who told me that I had been paying for 50/50 but only getting 25/25 because my router is not compatible with 50/50. She then gave me the option to buy a new router and informed me that I should have been given the new router at the time of the upgrade for free but since I was not and since I did not compain and hence no "paper trail" I would have to buy the new router. Had I asked for a new router 9 months ago, I would have received the router but since I did not I would have to BUY one for $100+. She then informed me that I should be reimbursed for the 9 months of overpayment BUT nine times out of ten, these types of refunds get denied and that I should take 1/2 the refund amount and use it towards a new router. She then explained a myriad of options that all cost me money. Long story short. I should have been given the new compatible router when I was upgraded. I was not. I did not complain and now its going to cost me money.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". IChat used to work fine but not any more - suggestions?

I've used iChat for about 1 year very successfully but recently video chat has stopped working. I have a MacBook Pro that doesn't work and a PowerBook where it still works fine.
Both have the same system and iChat software. Both are on the same wireless network. The Powerbook can connect to collegues and also the Apple test users (appleu3test01, 02, 03 etc.) while the MacBook Pro no longer connects although it used to connect just fine.
Symptom: I've tried having the MacBook request a conference with the PowerBook and the PowerBook never realizes that the MacBook requested a conference. When I try to initiate the conference from the PowerBook to the MacBook the MacBook never acknowledges that there has been a request. If I try to connect to appleu3test01 iChat on the MacBook displays
"Waiting for response..." for as long as I leave it the request window open.
It seems my MacBook Pro can no longer initiate nor recognize a video chat. (text chat works fine)
Given the above situation I have not tried to modify my router settings nor look into what my service provider might be doing - after all, everthing is still working great on one of my Macs.
All I have done is to try the old school Mac trick of deleting preferences. Specifically the com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist, com.apple.iChatAgent.plist, com.apple.iChat.plist plists. That made no difference.
If anyone has any suggestions for me I would be very grateful.

I share that funny feeling but:
10.4.3 is to long ago for me to know whether it is within reach of the backward compatibility specifics of 10.4.10, the machine specifics, the routers settings and it's performance in combination with the italian provider and the policy they have towards their subscribers. Just to give an example, apparently the Powerbook does video chat, the MacBook doesn't The QT version that currently is downloadable has system requirements that ask for 10.4.9 as a minimum. And that is just a detail.
A little change to your settings could solve this, but I advice you to to a reset of your network hardware, and update them one by one to the current release versions of their hard (firmware) and software. Check the site of the ISP and router for advise on their current network mode. Write down their details, and your required input network access. Unplug the devices. Leave them a good 15 minutes to power completely down. The device that comes first in contact with the internet connection needs to be plugged in first. Wait till the lights are blinking stable, now connect your MacBook Pro direct to the Ethernet port of the Modem (?) and log in to the interface of the device by typing it's IP address into Safari. Choose easy set up, and you will be asked to input the information you have previously checked on your ISP's site. Check if the firmware corresponds with the version you looked up on their site. It probably will mention if there is new software available and it will take a minute. After the device has restarted, connectivity is confirmed. Click an internet site in safari, and walk through the network diagnostics windows to set up a stable network conform ISP advice. Now the second mac needs to start, select a site in safari, if it needs diagnostics it will ask, respond in accordance to join the network you just have set up.
Some possible trouble causes to look at as well:
Channel settings used by the american sold Extreme is not set to a number that the Italian bought Express automatically switched to as interference was eminently asking for. (Or vice versa and variations on the theme)
Encryption running on the MacBook Pro could cause the problem etc.
The MacBook Pro has an Extreme card. The Powerbook has an Express card.
The Extreme is limited to the performance of the Express now.
Check the help feature as well, open iChat, select help in the top menu.
You need to have a valid internet account, and current up to date software & firmware.
Hope it covers your issue but if it is not solved please post back: Firewall or router settings are likely to cause these problems as well. I am not very good at those.

Someone else may have a workaround, but, as far as I know, if you cannot interact with the screen on the iPhone, there is no way to unlock it so you can get to your contacts.
Were you saving them to iCloud by chance? If so, you can restore them to your new phone.

Sir, your Apple ID can be used as an iCloud account as well. They are both the same thing.

In terms of combining accounts it's not currently possible to do so, nor to copy/transfer content from account to another.

Two points for you, Ramis:
1. The mouse-over highlight only works in Intermet Explorer. I use Firefox, and it doesn't work there.
2. When-mouse-enter trigger works in client/server forms, but not web forms. So if you are planning on ever moving to web, using the Current Record VA might be a better idea. Users would just need to click on any item in the record.

The model 2,1 MacBook has an easily removable battery. You can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay. Every MacBook from 2006 through Mid 2009 except the Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 and 2010 White Unibodies use the same A1185 battery.

Removing the battery:
Shut down the computer. Disconnect any cords connected to the computer.
Turn the computer over.
Locate the battery latch on one side of the battery.
Use a coin to turn the latch a quarter-turn clockwise. The battery should pop up slightly.
Lift the battery out.
Installing the battery:
Place the right side of the battery into the battery compartment at an angle, as shown below.
Gently press the left side of the battery down until it sits flat.
While holding the battery down, use a coin to turn the latch a quarter-turn counter-clockwise. The battery should lock into place.
Note: Keep in mind that once the new battery is inserted, you will need to press the power button to start up the computer.

I'm thinking I can convert the files with Compressor and place them in a new folder with their original file names (not sure how to get compressor to do this yet) and then do a major "Reconnect Clip" afterwards.
Not sure if there's a more efficient way to get all the clips in the timeline to compressor. I want the full files, not a sequence export. I can go through one clip and a time and add the master file. I'd rather not.
The more automated processes the better.

yeah Media reconnect can be an issue.
Will Media Manager convert files? Another thing I was thinking was to Media Manage the sequence out, copying all the used files to a new folder, and then running that through compressor. But it still leads to a massive reconnect. Fine tuning all those edits would be less involved than re-editing the whole thing, I hope.

I have called Verizon tech help for one year to get help with this, either trade phone or something. I am so frustrated! I picked Verizon for the clear calls and coverage inside hospitals and buildings but it's been terrible. I have had three of these phones replaced. I need a different model like the S4 or the S5 I think cause it's something in this model.

Verizon is quickly becoming the worst cell phone company out there. To read all of these pleas from your loyal customers is just so sad and pitiful. You need to be sued for your data overage charges that you are intentionally imploding on your customers. They have pleaded, very intelligently, with you to do something to fix the issue and you willingly have NOT. As is with my reception issue that I was promised a signal booster for two months ago, so is this issue with the data. You don't follow up and solve the issues. Therefore the courts will find you fraudulent. When I was promised by your super tech that I needed a signal booster and he was sending it out overnight at no charge to me, I was relieved that it would finally be taken care of so I wouldn't lose faith with Verizon. Well, that was two months ago now with no record of it ever being ordered or on my file anywhere. I have since called three more times with hours of conversations about that issue and two more techs have told me they were sending me a signal booster with no follow up what so ever. WOW! That's pitiful! You may not care now, oh but you will later when you lose lots of money and business.
