Useing  a Idoc  an  Oracle  database Can be update useing JDBC Adapter

Hi Guys,
Can you help me on the above topic..
Regd's
Raj

Hi Raj,
You can use the Idoc Adapter on the sender side and JDBC on the reciever side. After you have configured your scenario, you should be able to write data into the oracle database.
For the strucutre of your Datatype for insertion , just check this link,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/5df96381ec72468a00815dd80f8b63/content.htm
To access any Database from XI, you will have to install the corresponding Driver on your XI server.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3867a582-0401-0010-6cbf-9644e49f1a10
Or on the JDBC end you can write a stored procedure to make your data update more efficient.
Go through this blog for stored procedures.

I hope this helps.

  • Oracle 11g database can we update patch directly from 11.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.4.0?

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle 11g database.
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production
    CORE 11.2.0.3.0 Production
TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production
I want to update the patch.
Oracle 11g database can we update patch directly from 11.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.4.0?
Is any impact on the database?
    Kindly suggest,
    Regards,
    Sachin

11.2.0.4 is nothing but a patchset of 11.2.0.3, in-place upgrade is allowed :
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e23633/preup.htm#UPGRD12370
"You cannot install the new software into the same location for Oracle home as your current release, unless you are installing an Oracle Database 11g patchset release. For a patchset release, you can use the same Oracle Database 11g Oracle home."
And since it's a patchset, a direct upgrade is ok.
Lastly, yes, every upgrade has an impact (e.g. perf.), it has to be tested.

I frequently use Lightroom 3.6 for tethered capture on location. If I sign up for Adobe cloud and upgrade to Lightroom 5, do I have to be online all the time to use it? In other words, can I still use the program off-line?

    Yes.
The only difference is the installation method and the ownership verification. The program still is installed on and runs from your local machine. You only have to hook up to the internet every 60-90 days to verify ownership.
    From the FAQ
Do I need to be online to access my desktop apps?
No, the desktop applications in Creative Cloud, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, are installed directly on your computer, so you don’t need an ongoing Internet connection to use them.
An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.
Annual members can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode."

Reboot the device and see if the error happens again. Updating through iTunes is usually optimal, but the file size differs via Software Update on the device and iTunes (50MB vs ~800MB)

  • How to change field size using SQL against an oracle Database

I am an admitted novice user, looking to become more proficient.
I have a field in a table that I need to expand the field size. The table is called Inquiries. The data type is text. The current Field Size is 10. I want to increase it, to either the max, or somethign long enough to fit TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP PROGRAM.
What is the SQL command to change the field size, and what is the max for a Text Field Size

And/Or, an even better question might be,
Do I need to use SQL*PLUS to do this, or are there better tools. I.e, I like how in Access, you can open up a database in Design view and just change the amount for the field size. Is there a similar "easy" method to do something like that with an Oracle database.
My current version of the server/database is:
    Connected to:
    Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.6.0 - Production
    With the Partitioning option
    JServer Release 9.2.0.6.0 - Production
I was thinking I had to do SQL commands to perform the action, but there may be another way that I am not thinking about with all of the tools at my disposal. When I installed Oracle on my desktop, I installed most of the management tools and networking services, if that helps

  • Oracle Database 11g Backup Deduplication using CommVault

    Hi Everyone
We have recently implemented Commvault solution for a Backup and Recovery of Oracle database and other IT softwares / fileservers. Oracle E-business suite 12.1.1 is implemented in our organization with 11g database 11.2.0.3.6, for all the backups we have enabled deduplication and it is giving more then 90& dedup on all softwares except for Oracle database, for oracle it is giving just 40% or max 50% which is not acceptable to our organization
Production DB sizee = 257 GB
    Used block = 157 GB
Backup Policy = Daily Full backup incremental 0 with commvault dedup enabled
    Deduplication % = 40 to 50 %
requiement = should be over 90%
Our database is small and there are around 6 to 7 GB of archives daily so the data is not changing much, commvault support is saying that the block signatures are changing due to this we are not getting the full deduplication and they are asking us to check what changes are made during the day and oracle support says that once the rman backup is completed it has nothing to do with the third party dedup, and we are stuck so i thought to put it in the forum and may be oracle gurus can help find a solution here, my questions are:
    1. Is there a non issue of not getting fully deduplication of Oracle database using third party deduplication solutions? Is there any one who have used oracle backups with Commvault and dedup enabled, any help would be great
    2. I also need to know how to check what changes are made in database on a daily basis.
    Please help
    Thank you
    Regards
    shahrukh

The instructions are the same, where the server is physical or virtual. Best bet is the docs at http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/RILIN/toc.htm

  • Trying to get prior error when using deferred constaint on Oracle database

    Hi Greg,
There is no direct way to retrieve a error as an original exception
is wrapped. Also, it's problematic to report constraint violations
in general as different DB vendors use different ways to report them.
You may try to correct problem by extracting text of the exception
and looking for certain string patterns using direct string parsing
    or regexps.

I'm using an Oracle database which has deferred constraints enabled. I'musing
Weblogic 5.1 and Java. The problem is that the deferred constraints
    don't
    report
errors until a commit. This makes all errors report back to the java EJBcode
as error code 2091: Transaction Rolled Back. Both errors show up in theWeblogic
log file so there must be some way for my EJB to access it. How can I
    get
    the
error code of the actual cause?

  • Most widely used operating system for oracle database

    hi,
can anyone figure out which operating system is widely used for oracle database around the world.
    thanks and regards,
    Ashok

I don't think you can safely pick one single operating system for Oracle.
Over the years I have seen various Unix flavors, VAX/VMS, Windows and others being used to a great extent for running Oracle database.
Picking one flavor will be tougher then having to program the database under any operating system it is made available.

    Hi,
    The error message said
the Permission(java.lang.RuntimePermission getClassLoader) has not been granted to USF.
    I'd follow the suggestion
    The PL/SQL to grant this is dbms_java.grant_permission( 'USF','SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'getClassLoader', '' )

  • Use OEM to monitor oracle database size

    Hello All,
We currently have several database which are currently monitored via OEM however i will appreciate if anyone can tell me how i can monitor the the size of my oracle databases via oem
    Thanks

    Hi,
I'm not sure of OEM will monitor database size, but many 3rd party tools do.
There are many ways to achieve Oracle table monitoring, and many create specialized extension metadata tables to monitor Oracle table growth. In Oracle 10g you can perform Oracle tables monitoring with the dba_hist_seg_stat tables, specifically the space_used_total column.
On my databases, I create STATSPACK extension tables to track table and overall database growth:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/te_table_monitoring.htm
The full scripts are in my Oracle Press book, Oracle tuning with STATSPACK . . .

  • Migrate hundreds of Oracle databases to RHEL/Windows using DP/TTS/Shareplex

Am working on devising a migration strategy for several Oracle databases from one physical data-center location to another data-center location through dedicated WAN links. Overall snapshot:
Total 365 Dbs (28 to Oracle RAC 11gR2 and approx. 300 to DataGuard and Standalone). Source Databases versions are Oracle 9.2.0.4/9.2.0.7/10.2/10.2.0.4/11.2/11.2.0.4.
Source Databases are currently on different versions of Linux/HPUX/AIX/Windows OS. Target Database OS platform(most of them): RHEL 5.8/RHEL 6(atleast for Unix) and Windows. Plan is to migrate same versions and not upgrade(due to applications dependency). am thinking of using
    -Oracle Datapump
    -Transportable Tablespaces+RMAN scripting(for target datafiles)
-Shareplex for Databases in TB (this tool allows ZDT, zero-downtime migration/from Quest software)
Also my Storage/SAN colleague is using Swing gear (AUTO-LUN+BC) to migrate virtualizing the storage arrays from Source to Target location. Is it possible to "piggyback" on this SAN-level migration of the "physical" datafiles and then use Shareplex to migrate the archivelogs and apply them over to Target databases?
Need your inputs please. Thanks in advance..
    Abhijit

    Abhijit,
If you haven't had any feedback yet then the best option is to ask this question in the Database forum -
    Forum: Database - General
    General Database Discussions
This forum is for migratiing from non-Oracle to Oracle databases and they will be better able to help moving Oracle from one machine to another.
