User Administration - Roles screen - Operation aborted

Hi All,
I'm having trouble accessing the roles page in the user administration screen of our SAP Portal. Internet Explorer keeps poping up a dialog box saying "Operation Aborted". This sometimes happens immediately, other times after a couple of screen refreshes. It only ever happens on the roles page.
Please help.

Dear All,
We have installed EP NW04 SR1 . Every thing is working fine, All the menus are coming up properly except when i click on the User Administration --> Role --> Role menu, its starts for some time and then gives "Page cannot be displayed, Operation aborted" . This error only comes for the Role workset. Every thing else is working fine.
It would be nice if i can get guidance as to how to debug this error

Restrict permissions to use the groups/users/roles in User Administration

Hello gurus,
I want to find out if there is a way we can restrict permissions to use the GROUPS in User administration. We want to assign the user administration role to the users, but do not want the users to have permissions to DELETE groups from User administration page.
Please also let me know, if we can just have users use the NWA to do the user administration instead of from the Portal?

Koti is right, you need to create custom User administration role from standard role and restric the access in the custom role and assgined to the users.

Then can to do from NWA also, if the user not required to have the portal access.

Role for User Administrator(Read only)

Hi All,
I want to create a role just like the role ofUser Administrator.But I want to make it read only.I want that the end user can perform search operation,can see the locked user,can see the roles but can't delete the user.Basically ,they shouldn't able to do the modification.

I have only managed to do this by creating a role and assigning the relevant User Admin iViews to the role and then changing the End User Permissions on the role.
I assigned the ReadAll Premission. That did the trick for me.
Groups unfortunately require the manage_groups Permission, so we do not allow the viewing of groups.

LS 2013: Error with User/Role Screen

I upgraded my LightSwitch application from VS 2012 to VS 2013 (VS 2013 Update 1).
Now, when I access the user/roles screen, I receive the following error now:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Data.Services, Version=5.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.
I have reviewed my project references (after receiving this error) and see the following:
Microsoft.Data.Services.dll

How can I fix this error? Please help.

Unable to open the "role" workset in User Administration

I have installed Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP9 on Web AS 6.40. But when I goto the "role" workset of User Administration I get "page cannot be displayed".

I got the same problem. Try to upgrade to SP17
and it's solved. Otherwise you can use Firefox for this special site. No good solution - I must admit - but it's displayable with Firefox.

Restrict the role of User Administrator

Hello all,
I need to know that if it is possible to restrict the Role of an User Administrator to assign only a specific set of Roles to the end user.
For example : The user administrator should be able to assign only say Managers, Employees Roles to the Users and not any other roles like Super Administrators etc.
If so, how can we achieve that?

There is a authorization object (combined with a parameter) that does this restriction:
S_SPO_PAGE
Definition
Using authorization object S_SPO_PAGE, you can restrict the maximum number of pages of a request that can be printed on a particular printer.
This authorization check is only active if profile parameter rspo/auth/pagelimit is set to 1.
Defined fields
SPODEVICE Device name for which the restriction is to apply.
SPOPAGES Maximum number of pages allowed; enter a range (0 to n) here

NWA 7.1 - User Administration with regards to Roles/Groups

Hello,
Environment = NWA 7.1 , Java Stack Only , No Central User Administration
Situation      = One group of individuals responsible for developing and maintaining Java Roles & Groups
                      (Permissions). Another group of individuals responsible for maintaining Users and
                      allocating the above Roles & Groups to the Users.
In accordance with various documentation (ie. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/4a/e06f429c789041e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm) I have set up a Role which includes the actions: UME.Manage_Roles, UME.Manage_Groups, UME.Manage_Users, UME.Manage_All_User_Passwords & UME.Read_All. This Role is intended for the second group of individual mentioned above.
The problem is however that with the mentioned actions they can not only allocate an user to a Role or Group but also delete the Role/Group from the system. Without the above actions in the Role it is not possible to assign Users to a Role/Group.
This leads me to the question if it is possible to split these two various areas of responibility or does NWA 7.1 view both activities as residing in only group (documentation to this effect would be helpful). If not, which actions will ensure that only Users can be administered but the rights to the system (Roles/Groups) can not be tampered with.

UME.Manage_All Provides permissions required by an overall user administrator.
These include:
u2022 Administration of users belonging to any company and
possibility of assigning users to companies
(In a multitenant portal, even if a tenant user is assigned this
action, he or she will still only have access to users, groups,
and roles in his or her tenant.)
u2022 Group management
u2022 Role assignment
u2022 User mapping
u2022 Import and export of user data
u2022 Manual replication of user data
To set up delegated user administration, overall user administrators
must belong to a role to which the UME.Manage_All action is
assigned.
In portal installations, any role that includes the UME.Manage_All
action automatically has Role Assigner permissions on all portal roles in the portal installation.

Assigning System Administrator role to a new user in OIM 11gR2

I am trying to assign full access as xelsysadm to a newly created user but not able to. Unable to identify option to add System Administrator role. System Administrator admin role is available to TOP organization and we can not create a new user in TOP. any suggestion will be helpful.

goto-> organization-> search and select Top organization-> open detail page-> click on Admin Role-> select Adminrole(System Administrator) -> click on Assign button-> select user and add it-> finally click on okay.

OES MAPI problem of "Assigning Principals to an Administration Role"

I meet the problem of programmatically Assigning Principals to an Administration Role using Oracle Entitlement Server Management API. I can successfully run the sample code following the <Developer Guide>, Chapter 5.4.3 Assigning Principals to an Administration Role
My code snippet is like this:

I also tried manually assign app1 with delegated admin role, and then Lisa can successfully login to admin GUI.
Then I run the app program to programmatically assign app2 with delegated admin role to Lisa. Login with Lisa could not see app2.
I have checked the system admin "weblogic" login to admin GUI and it can see that app2 already have Lisa listed on the external user of delegated admin of app2.
I even checked the DEV_APM.JPS_CHANGELOG in the oracle database schema for oes. I can see the changelog of java app assiging operation.
Can anyone tell me the reason why programmatically assign user to an delegated admin not work correct? Is there some mistake steps in my java app code or there is a bug in OES product?
I use the OES 11.1.1.5 version with Oracle Database 11.2.0, Weblogic 10.3.5 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 6 32bit.

If this is the first time that user be assigned as a delegated admin, you should also grant user with applicaionRole "APMViewer" to the application "oracle.security.apm"

Argentina missing?: User Administration- Create User- Contact Information

Hi!:
Logon in the portal --> User Administration-> Create User --> look at "Contact Information" there's a country combo box and Argentina is not there.
I want to know how to put the country in the combo box. Seems to be all the countries in the world are in the combo.... except Argentina. Is a requirement that all the users have the country set for a certain app.
Any Idea how to fix it?.

These roles are already assigned to the user which we want to use as power administrator. In fact, we checked the same with SAP_ALL profile.
We are referring user administration (Power Administrator) screen in WebUI, there we cannot see CREATE button (for user creation) and cannot able to search BPs or users from selection criteria which exist in our system.

Batch Import in User Administration

There is an option for batch import in User Administration. If i am not wrong, we can give the details of the users in a text file, upload the same and create the users in the portal.
Where can i find the format of the text file that should be uploaded?

When I open the page in IE I get a javascript error that stops the page from loading. If you run down the source of this error, you should be able to fix the problem:

It appears as though you are running into problems with the SWFObject embed script, because the script and the Div it writes into is inside of the same div. Try moving the script block outside of the 2 div closures that immediately follow it.

User administration(Power administrator)

Create button is missing in our user administration screen in SNC Web UI. When we search partner or user we get error(No BP found).

User administration in SRM when using SUS

i've some understanding-problems concerning the user-administration within the SUS-EBP-Szenario with activated business function supplier collaboration (SRM_SUCO_1) and customizing switch for SUS-Registration (SRM_701_SUCO_SUP_REG).
A new potential supplier carries out the self-registration within SUS. After answering the questionaire, I see the new supplier with corresponding contact person within the sus-user administration.
1. Does the purchaser normally approve the suppliers within the SUS or the SRM-system ?
2. In my current szenario the purchaser can log on to the SUS-system and accept or decline the suppliers within the preselection-screen. Is this correct ? I Would prefer to do this in the SRM-system.
3. In the SRM-System a purchaser can
(under stratetic purchasing-business partners-central functions-preselect suppliers) preslelect suppliers Which windows should open now: the preselect-scrreen form the SRM-System or directly from the SUS-System ?
4. if I configure the system so that the preselection-screen from the SRM-System opens i can see the accepted suppliers within a OPI-bases supplier directory - but now it's not possible to mark and tranfer users to SRM-System! What could be my problem ?
I hope someone can describe me the process in more details. I've already read the corresponding documentation but without getting the full understanding of the correct process and it configuration.

sorry, for answering so late and thank you for you answer, but as I've not solved my problem I'll try to explain my current configuration and my problem.
At the moment I've changed the role /SAPSRM/ST_PURCHASER_EHP1 in SRM, so that, if the purchaser goes on menupoint "Businesspartner-central functions-preselect supllier" the preselection screen form the SUS-System is shown in a separate window.
In this screen "Preselect Suppliers" I can see the suppliers from SUS, but Ive no possibilitiy to mark them and to transfer them to my SRM. There ar no buttons make any other action than searching and no possibilitie to mark the shown entries !
As I'm with this screen within the SUS-system why do I have to configure the supplier directory within the SRM-system ?
Where should I see the supplier directory to transfer suppliers to the SRM.
If there's a possibility to send you some screenshots for a better illustration, please let me know.
