i am working on PI 7.1 ..i have a soap to abap proxy scanrio..i published my services in SR ..say i gave the WSDL to 3 partners and they also have the USer ID and PWd ...to send message to the PI system..but now i want one 2 of them to be able to send message to the system how can i restrist the third user from sending message .. ?
wht is the use of Assigned user in sender agrrement ..if i go in the value list ..in the username option i dont find any user ID in the list ..wht could be the reson ..or do i need to manully add the user ID thr...

yes
you have to manually enter user names in sender agreement.
Then it will allow only those senders whose user names are there in that sender agreement.

But when a person is simply logging in to the application how can we choose a responsibility without know what responsibilities a person has?
The <xx:SOAHeader></xx:SOAHeader> is not mandatory. So can i simply not pass this header? Or is there a default responsibility that can be specified for all users?
Also in what scenarios is the <wsse:Security> header not required? I recently checked and found that even without providing the Security header, it is possible to execute service in ISG. Hence the question.

Ok, so you want to know for an user , what responsibility you should use in order to be able to perform the invocation?

User control for individual drives or partitions?

I have an Airport Extreme (n) with two USB drives attached. One has a single partition, and the other has four partitions. All five virtual drives mount on the desktop of computers connected by airport.
My question: can I set up individual user accounts such that some users can see only some partitions, and other users can see all partitions. In other words, I want some people to see only certain partitions, while I want to be able to see (and write to) all partitions.

I have done that. It seems that you can control all disks and partitions connected to the AE, but I don't see how to indicate that user 1 is allowed to see Paritition A, but not Partition B, and that user 2 is allowed to write to Partition B and only read Partition C. Fine grained control, in other words.

When apply Parent Binding on User Control, then the textbox ivalueconvoter stop working in User control

I have make a User Control for Client. In my user control there is textbox which is showing Date Time with Custom format. For Custom format i have bind the textbox using IvalueConvertor. By applying the Ivalueconvoter the DateTime will show like "dd/MM/yyyy"
But when Client use that control and bind the control with CLR property, then my user control shows full DateTime with Time also.
It is looking that my Ivalue convertor is not working due to parent binding.
Kindly suggest the proper way of this.

Custom field type vs user controls

hi,
I saw one example for creating page layouts. In that they are adding the controls to page layout using custom fields . we can use user controls for same right ? when we need custom field types and when we need user controls.

You can use user controls in pagelayouts, but they won't store/retrieve the information from the underlying metadata like the field controls will.

I have to maintain a SharePoint 2010 project, in which a TopNavigation User Control for SiteCollection is registered in the MasterPage in this way:

When I deploy the SiteCollection, the TopNavigation user control is working correctly. Unfortunately when i modify the masterpage over SharePoint Designer, the following error message comes allways, regardless of the art of changes i did in the MAsterPage
( even if I open the MasterPage, add an space and do save/close the MasterPage).
"Problem when adding user control in my custom master page, Parser Error Message: The referenced file '/_layouts/Navigation/TopNavigation.ascx' is not allowed on this page."
Any ideas?

Hi Simon,
When we use UserControl in SharePoint Page or MasterPage, and the UserControl is kept in any folder other than ControlTemplates, we will got the error. Here is an article about this issue and provided the solution:

I am new in adobe technology. Our company is on feasibility study about user control development using flash for our application. Now I am exploring flash builder and action script. I dont know about that i am on the right choice. I saw lot of controls using flash we are using some controls. The newest version of iTunes is awful when it comes to Cloud syncing-file management. I'm constantly frustrated with what iTunes 'chooses to eliminate from my mobile device and settings aren't fine-grained enough to allow for real user control.

I'm endlessly frustrated with iTunes Cloud syncing, something that was supposed to make lenjoying my music easier. I routinely find that, though itunes and podcasts have been split, iTunes arbitrairily removes music files or in progress podcast in favor of 'new' podcasts. The settings are just not fine-grained enough to allow true user control and so we are instead subjected to 'Apple knows best' protocols. I understand and appreciate the level of exacting control Apple excercises over their ecosystem, however, more and more often I see them tightening control over things that should be user control while dropping the ball on aesthetic desisions made in producing their own software (see the hideous pull down tab for iTunes to access Podcast, TV shows, Music, etc.
I would like to see features like those in Mail and the Podcasting apps implemented in iTunes afor the management of content on mobile devices, for instance it would be great to swipe to delete files that you know longer want on your device, at both the album and song level. Another issues is the new pushiness of iRadio and iTunes Store, the app now seems to default to the iRadio page (versus the last page Albums, songs, etc. that the user was navigating, or in the instance of the iTunes Store push, if I doon't have all the tracks of an album i own on my mobile device 'complete my album' takes you to iTunes store rather than showing the 'cloud' download icon next to missing tracks. These are the tactics I expect from Google, not Apple (pushing commerce over quality user experience).

Please provide user exit for the merging the credit limit in different credit control area as well as logic for the same.
I have to merge the overall credit limit of the customer for some divisions. At this time in one company code we have created 9 credit control area as per product line. While creating customer master data and Credit management (FD32) user has assigned the different limit with respective to credit control area e. g Customeru2019s total limit assigned is 10 laks. For credit control 1100 Limit is Rs. 3 laks and for credit control area 2200 limit is 7 laks. Now the user wants to merge the credit limit for only above two credit control area. The sales orders should get created in any credit control area up to 10 laks.

How to defne user mapping for a Webservice method to acheive single sign on

I all,
I have created a Web service System using a url (containing full path of my wsdl )
Now this particular wsdl(my webservice) has an <b>authenticate method</b> , which takes username and password.
wanted to know is there any way that i can do user mapping for it .
i.e when i create an ivew for this web service system using authenticate method , it should pick up the username and password from the user mapping. presently the ivew itself asks for username and password ?
else can anyone tellme is there a way to do user mapping for my web service system that i have created using a wsdl url. presently it works with any junk username password, i mean the connection always succeds , may be because accessing a wsdl dosent requires any user name and password.

User Exit for Inbound Process - Changing IDOC control record

Hi,
I want to utilize the identification field (under details tab) of the IDOC Control Record. What is the suitable user exit for inbound process that i can use to change the IDOC control record?

It's been a long time since I have done any IDOC processing.
Go to SE37 and enter the function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS. Display the source code. Search for "CALL CUSTOMER". You should see several "CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION" lines. These are enhancements where you can manipulate the IDOC data. If you locate the correct one (where the data is read from the IDOC but not yet validated), you should be able to map the partner function value. Double-clicking on the number in quotes will bring you to an "EXIT_" function module. A "ZX" INCLUDE program is referenced. If you haven't used the exit yet, double-clicking on the ZX INCLUDE will create it. The values passed into the function module are available in the INCLUDE.
Ideally, you should create a project in transaction CMOD that references the chosen enhancement. This way you can activate/deactivate without commenting/uncommenting the code in the INCLUDE.

Access control for different user groups in APEX 4.0

Hi guys,
in Apex 4.0, is there any way to use the access control page to configure access control for different user groups?
The access control page currently only has an access control list by users with 3 privileges namely, Administrator, Edit & View where Administrator has the highest access level & View the lowest. Therefore 1 user cannot have more than 1 different privilege, however if the user belongs to 2 or more different groups then we can control what access he can have in a more fine grained manner. We also want to have more than the 3 privileges given.
Can we assign different groups to different users and let them have different privileges to be configured by page, region, process or item level?
Now Apex will create 2 tables, Apex_Access_Control & Apex_Access_Setup to store the application access control mode & access control list. It will also create 3 authorization schemes "access control - administrator", "access control - edit" & "access control - view" based on the 2 tables.
Does this mean we have to change the table structures & edit the authorization schemes to suit our usage? We are reluctant to do this because if we upgrade to a newer version of Apex then we would have to merge our pl/sql coding with Apex's updated code.
How can we auto-configure more than the 3 authorization schemes in the access control page? Is there any way to achieve a finer grain of access control based on the current access control administration page given by Apex without writing it ourselves?
We are afraid that we may have missed something on Apex access control & do not want to reinvent the wheel.

to build your own application authorization scheme around the security model supplied by Apex for administration of the Apex environment would be a bad idea.
This was never intended for authorization scheme management in custom built Apex applications, it was solely intended to control access in the Apex environment overall. The API for it is not published, and making changes to it, such as adding more roles, would run the risk of breaking the overall Apex security model. It would not be supported by Oracle and Oracle would not guarantee the upwards compatibility of any changes you make in future versions of Apex.
In short, you should follow Tyson's advice and build your own structure. As he indicated, there are plenty of examples around and provided your requirements are not too complicated, it will be relatively simple.

How to hide ribbon but show welcome control for all users using security trimmed control in sharepoint 2010

I have a requirement to hide ribbon in a document library for the read permission users. I have applied SPSecurityTrimmedControl, it is working for the read permission user but for the whole site it is hiding and also unable to see the welcome control,
like user name, sign in as different user, etc.,

I want to apply SPSecurityTrimmedControl to specific list/library with welcome control. Can someone please help me here.

Hello MercuryMan,
I guess you have applied your code in master page that's why it is hidden from site. To hide specific list ribbon, go to your list-->and edit the page-->then add content editor webpart and apply below script.

Need a user exit for Export Control check in Sales Order fro VA01/VA02

Hi ,
     I need a user exit for Export Legal Control process in Sales Order.since Ship-to country in the Sales Order is not always the ultimate destination country User Exit needs to be built in with following logic
1.     Check to see if ultimate destination country field is maintained in Sales Order
2.     If a value is maintained then for the Export control checks use ultimate destination country instead of the Ship-To country (step 1)
3.     If no value is maintained then use Ship-To country as default
The user exit is called when the user creates or changes a Sales Order.
