User defined fields reference in Matrix VB6
I have a couple of user defined fields on the Delivery Details Matrix that I need to update. I know that I need to reference them by index as follows:
Set oEditText = oDelDetMatrix.Columns("Index").Cells.Item(ivlRowCounter).Specific
oEditText.Value = CCur(dvlSomePrice)
The problem is even if I check Watch window for the indexes I can not be certain what indexes to use for these columns. Is there a way to get exact index number?
Is there a way to reference matrix columns by by field names?

AffectsFormMode property of User defined field in system matrix
Hallo
I added one UDF in System matrix of service call id at panel Solution.
I set formated search for that UDF field to populate Symptons data from system knowldge base form (table).
I set the fromatted search property for that UDF Column is Automatic.
So when i nevigate record on Service call form, this UDF column fetch the value and so form goes in Update Mode.
Please i want to AffectsFormMode property for that column, so i have to get the form mode is "OK"
How it is possible.

It is true,
But When i open 'Service Knowledge Base' child form by clicking ID Link Button in Solution Tab of Service Call Form
and update that form (here symptoms field important for me),
it does not change the state of Parrent Service call form to update.
Also there is not any link between this two table SCL1 service call and OSLT Solution knowldege table In PLD.
so i create Symptoms UDF in matrix at solution tab of Service call form.
also i create formatted search to fill this column.
I set that formatted search as "auto refresh when field change"
so when i navigate through service call records. it featches and put value in that UDF column and make form state "Update"
I want to avoid it.
means when i navigate the service call, when the value of that UDF Is different then OSLT table then that Service Call goes to update state otherwise it have OK state.
I used query in formatted search to fetch the value for UDF
What will be the solution for this problem.
Also tell me Can i call formatted search through program means can i give formatted search command (shift F2. or press formatted seach button) in program.

User Defined Fields and Reference Fields on the B/S
Dear Experts,
On the balance sheet in SAP 9.0/8.82 once you click on the expanded button, there are user defined fields and reference fields which are blank. Could someone assist on how to use them ?

How do I refer to a user defined field in a query (using $ notation) ?
if i have a user defined field in Invoice header called U_Test, and if I need to read it using a query (to be used on a formatted search).
I am not quite sure of the syntax. can anyone help please?
I tried
$[$U_Test.0.0] which is the accepted way with fields with numerical ids such as $[$8.0.0] etc.

Aliw, the 38 is not the form number, is the Item Number (which I guess is a matrix). In your case the User Defined Field is a line UDF. In Indika´s case is a header UDF.
And that´s the issue. As the indika´s UDF is a header UDF, it lays in a different form (which is named "-" + Main Form Name). Formatted searches work with the $[$Field.Column.Format] notation ONLY in the same form. So, if you try to get the UDF from another UDF, it will work with that notation (they are in the same form). But if you try to get the UDF from the main form, it won´t find it (It is in another form).
In that case you should use the other notation, as Andrea, Alexey and Salvador told you in the posts before.
Hope this clears a bit the issue.

User-defined fields in cost calculation
Hi, I'm working with process order in customer service process.
I would like to make a cost precalculation based on a user-defined field.
To let you know.
I created a new user-defined field.
I affected to it a new parameter ID so that this user-defined field value can be used in formulas.
I created a new formula with my parameter ID.
This is allowed for costs.
Now in my work center I defined these data for costing
price for pre calculation is defined for IN9020 and cost center.
Now in my service order I fill the required field.
I would have thought that according to formula, SAP would use this value (6 PC through the formula) to calculate costs.
This is not the case.
Did anybody already use this?

While mapping repair of a particular machine with out any reference to material(that is we have not created them as serialised material as in the case of refurbishment) we have created task list for its repair and user wanted to capture the quantity of repair (say how many & also its weight) so we have maintained the tonnage per 1 no in these fields. later when order is being created user selects the task list & changes the quantity field then we have developed report where we calculate the total tonnage of that job & also no of items repaired.

From within the SAP Business One user interface under Tools > Customization Tools > User-Defined Fields - Management, you need to add to the Marketing Documents > Tile and/or Rows, etc.

User defined fields does not get added into database
Hello Experts
User defined fields does not get added into database , when i click add button it
shows data added sucessfully , but when i check data base no entry is made , only entry is made for
B1 fields , like DocEntry ,DocNum etc.., no entry is made for U_fields..
I have check every thing databound is also set to true
Actually first few 6 data was added properly but now its not geeting added for user fields
I have used 2 document row child table for 2 matrix and for remaining Document table
What might be the problem

Is it Possible to link user defined column of system matrix ?

Is it possible to link (with ExtendedObject) user defined column of system matrix?
For Example, In purchase order form, I have added one column called U_ItemCode (through Tools-User Defined Fields-Marketing Doc). I want to give drill down to Item master.
Here is the code:

the last line gives me 'Object refrence not set to an instance of the object' error.
For user form, it works fine (since it has the column defined as LinkedColumn in screen painter). How can we do this in system matrix?

i mean the following:
1.) add the field in marketing document lines -> you need this to store the values in database
but this user field column will not have the arrow so we do ...
2.) you also add a linked column to the system matrix. you can copy the values from the udf column
to your manual added column and than you can use the arrow. (maybe you should disabled this column)
the result is you have two columns - the udf column and the linked manual column
i hope you know what i mean - very complicated

Just wondering, if any one faced the dilemma as I am facing in reference to User Define field.
I have user define field and is visible in SBO Interface (Tools - User Defined Field - Manage User Defined field), but unfortunately its not available in XL report writer (Tools - User Defined Fields). Its quite confusing because other user defined field is visible in XL Reporter, but only one is missing. Is there any restriction or can anyone guide to view all the user-defined fields in XL Reporter defined in SBO interface.

There is a pdf file from SAP that explains about the table supported by XL reporter. So, if you made some UDF in the table that is not supported by XL reporter, I think it won't be available in the XL reporter.
The pdf file title is Support of User-Defined Fields (UDFs) in XL Reporter - SAP Business One 2005A SP01 - March 2006.

Add User Defined Field (Landed Costs Window)
Hello All!
Somebody can help us on this, we wonder if someone can tell us how can we add a user defined field in the Landed Costs Windows -> Fixed Costs TAB place.
We were unable to add this field, and now we're thinking that's impossible through the USER DEFINE FIELD function, there's not reference about Fixed Costs TAB in this tool, but if someone knows the 'how to', please help us.

I am afraid you could not do that. User defined field is not be added into landed cost. Landed cost seems like process external bank statement. I have ever asked to SAP support about this (how to add UDF in process external bank statement) and they said it could be done using add-on. You have developed add-on to do that (DI/UI or UI API only).

$[$38.11.0]
38 Represents the Matrix(Table) in a Marketing Document
11 Represents the Quantity Field in the Matrix
0 Represents the Number Format.
Place your Cursor on the Matrix and Press CTL + SHFT + D, you'll find the Column information in the Left side of the Status Bar -
How to provide value to a User Defined field thru java code
I am using OIM 11.1.1.5.
I have a user defined field called Unique-Customer-Number. This field need to be pre-populated during user creation (using OIM Web UI) and the value comes from a java code.

you have to create a customer defined screen and attach as in the link. Add the Freely definable detail screen in OPK0. Confirm the user defined fields.
