User Function Libraries (UFL) on Unix/Linux?
I tried searching for on how to implement UFL on Unix/Linux, nothing came up.
can someone point me to where I can find information on how to write UFL on Unix/Linux?
Thanks,
Harsha
Harsha,
Did you get this UFL's working on unix platform ? We have a similar requirement on our way and wondering if you can share your experiences on this and also sample code (I cannot open the attachment).
We have enterprise installed on AIX and user community are on Windows platform. We are trying to figure out what it takes to get UFL's working so that crystal reports are developed using UFL's and get deployed in XI R3 enterprise. Client's are expected to see reports via infoview (Tomcat deployed on AIX).

Disable user accounts on Unix, Linux resorces
Hi Everyone
I try to understand disable user account action on Unix, Linux systems
In Resource reference doc. I see the next:
Linux does not natively support Waveset enable and disable actions.
Waveset simulates enabling and disabling accounts by changing the
user password. The changed password is exposed on enable actions,
but it is not exposed on disable actions.
As a result, enable and disable actions are processed as update actions.
Any before or after actions that have been configured to operate on
updates will execute.
So what kind of commands waveset using for this action:
passwd -l <Username>
or just change password?
ThanksHi,
The out of the box adapter changes the user's Linux password on disable action.
To Implement locking of account by running "passwd -l username", you need to write a resource action and call it explicitly. Hope it helps

Thanks in advance,Hi,
What is your operational manager version? Did you add the action account the local admin group of linux and unix?
I would like to suggest you get the newest management pack for linux and unix.
In addition, here is a thread with the same error, hope it can be helpful:

Is there any way to have Universe SDK running in UNIX/Linux system?
Hi,
The prospect needs to change the Universe connection source dynamically in batch mode within production environment. So they developed a program with Universe COM SDK. However, we found that neither VC nor VB code developed in Universe COM SDK can run in the production environment, for the system is UNIX or Linux.
I suggested that we could look for a Windows-client machine to run the COM program, but it's said that in the end user environment, there would be only Non-Windows environment. On the other hand, deploying a third-party middle ware on UNIX/Linux to run Universe SDK program would bring about huge risk.
Does anyone encounter similar problem?
Any suggestion for the above questions is highly appreciated.

User Function Library for Crystal Reports 10 doesn't work on Win2K3 SP2
Hi,
Recently, we have been facing problem with Crystal Reports 10 developer edition on Windows Server 2003 R2 Service Pack2.
The user function library concept doesnu2019t seem to be working on Windows Server 2003. We had installed CR10 Service Pack 6.
We have a UFL written in VB 6.0 and this UFL is used in a formula in one of our reports.
Whenever this report is invoked, the application crashes with a page fault. Dr Watson log files points to a crash occurring in Crystal Reports component.
To reproduce this problem:
1) Create a UFL in VB 6.0
2) Use the UFL in a formula in a report
3) Create a VB 6.0 application and use CR 10 Report Viewer control
4) Invoke the report from the application
5) The application crashes on Windows Server 2003 (SP2).
This is a high priority issue.
Is there any other alternative to User Function Library?
Any help on this will be very much appreciated.

Hi All,
Recently I upgraded SCOM 2012 SP1 CU5 to CU6 and facing following issue:
1. New menu item got grayed out that appears upon the right click on Monitoring node(root) under monitoring workspace.
2. When we click Monitoring in the navigation pane, the Monitoring Overview opens, which displays a summary of health states and alerts. if we click any of the numbers in the overview, it is supposed to open a state view of the selected category but
this function does not work now.
3. Views like Active Alerts, Discovered Inventory, Distributed Applications, Task Status, Unix/Linux Computers and Windows Computer do not appear under Monitoring workspace after upgrading to UR6.
Has anyone out there facing such kind of issue? Any help on fixing these issues would be appreciating. Thanks in advance.Hi,
Have you re-opened the operation manager console?
There are some known issues when intalling UR6, please go through it:

In addition, there is CU7 for SCOM sp1, why not installing the newest one:

Network path and CM Repository Manager in Unix/Linux
Hi Gurus,
we have SAP portal server (linux) and seperate file server(linux).
we have mounted the file server in the portal server.
we have decided to use FSDB mode in CM Repository Manager.
I have the following questions:
1) How to create a network path?. do i have to do extra configurations? what to provide for the user name and password?
2) Is creating a FSDB repository for unix\linux is same as windows or it has any changes except for windows landscape System.
Thanks in advance.

CAM switch between uttsc, Unix, Linux servers?
Suppose you had some of each:
Windows Terminal servers
Solaris Sun Ray servers
Linux Sun Ray servers
...and wanted to present a choice to users at the dtu startup screen, before login (e.g., with CAM), as to which system they wanted to connect to initially. Is it possible?
I'm in a university environment and want to give easy access to each of those operating environments without the Windows user having to know how to navigate a Unix/Linux environment, even briefly, and vice-versa.
For our purposes this sort of simple universal terminal configuration would be ideal.
Thanks for any ideas, hints, etc.
-tomHi ErikEJ.
I made a design decision several years ago to avoid using SQL Server Express for this project because it requires either a network connection or local instance of SQL Server to be running on a desktop platform which in many cases is resource-constrained.
SQL Server Compact was perfect for this application because the database engine could be entirely contained within the application without client/server overhead.
Thanks for the ODBC under Linux suggestion, but I presume that this also would require client/server connection to an ASP server instance somewhere.
I think it would be simpler to just use an ASP host environment directly where SQL Server Compact, SQL Server, .net, and all the custom utilities I have developed for this application could be hosted with hopefully minimal modification.
Thanks for your input.

Font mapping in Forms 10g on Unix/Linux
Hello,
does anybody have a adea how font mapping in forms 10g works on Unix/Linux.
As far as I know I do have to have a X-Server running on the node so that forms can mapp java fonts, is this true?
What configuration options do I have on the server.
Can I differ strictly between development tasks (consideration of developer) and admin tasks ([configuration]considerations of Application Server Admin) referring font mapping in forms 10g?
Is there any "Best Practices to this subject?
Thank you.
Regards
FrankHello Frank,
- fontmapping takes place in Registry.dat file?!
- According to your article "Forms: Using custom fonts in Oracle Forms Services 10g" I only have to customize fontmapping in Registry.dat file.
-Customer developes on MS-Client and uses Arial, but is surprised about displayed font, which is´nt Arial.
-Can I just customize font mapping in Registry.dat as follows (according your example)?
default.fontMap.appFontnames=x,y,Arial
default.fontMap.javaFontnames=u,v.Arial
What do we have to consider on client site?
What´s about java on client (JInitiator)?
