User has no permissions to use Web Service Navigator
This is the error I get when I try to go to http://<hostname>:50000/wsnavigator
Which authorization is requried to access this? Can anyone please help?
Thanks
Hi,
You need a user, which belongs to the administrator group, or has an administrator role (SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin, NWA_SUPERADMIN) or the respective administrator actions (SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin, NWA_SUPERADMIN_BPM_RRViewer).

Edited by: Ninad Sane on May 26, 2009 3:50 PMHi Ninad,
While importing wsdl, select category as "WSDL", you are trying to import it as XSD.
Hope this will help.

Hi, every one:
Here's my question of my day - >>>
I am using weblogic 6.1 SP2 right now - running on Unix and Win 2K, and
I got a web service up and running called Price Update web service through
which user can pick up a price and push a deal to another web service
called: deal service, the deal service will take the user deal and book the
deal ( sending a JMS message to a Queue, a MD will pick up and do the work,
then send the confirmation to another JMS Queue ), then the confirmation
will be picked up and sent to another web service , called: User Deal
Confirmation Service, here's the question:
1. Since the client application is only allowed to see its own confirmed
deals, how I can make the confirmed deal encrypted based on a server
generated key or the session id that client application provides
2. Now, I have 3 webservices: update, deal and confirm, each of them has a
client.jar file available - from the client application point of view, do I
need all these 3 client.jar, or I just need one of them ?????
3. How can I use web service call back in wls 6.1 sp2 ?????? - in the 7.0
beta, you can do this easily in the workshop, in the second question above,
I think I need some how relate the confirmation to the client conversation
id ??
thanks a lot for the input, have a nice day.

mark.Any comments ?

Unauthenticated user when using web service
Hi,
I have built a session bean accessing some KM functionality. This sessionbean has a couple of business methods exposed as web services.
The business methods are called fine, but when I try to access the KM Resource Context I get the following exception
ResourceContext.setUser called with unauthenticated user MJOH
In the web service I have turned on basic authentication, and it's obviously trying to use my user MJOH. I have logged on to the portal containing KM to verify that my user indeed works.
Both the web service and KM are running on the same J2EE-server.
In the web service descriptor I have the following settings
<global-features>
<feature name="http://www.sap.com/webas/630/soap/features/authentication" protocol="SecurityProtocol">
<property name="AuthenticationMethod" value="BasicAuth"/>
<property name="AuthenticationMechanism" value="HTTP"/>
<property name="SupportsSSO2Authentication" value="false"/>
</feature>
</global-features>
Does anyone know if there are more settings that need to be done?

Workflow : User Decision on Email using Web Services
Hi,
I have the requirement of sending User Decision on Email Using Web Services.
Eg : I have created one ECR Using T-Code "CC31" and on status change "CC32" of this ECR, My workflow triggers. Now what i want is to send the User Decision on maintain User Email ID as URL link. This link will contain the ECR Nos. There will be "N" nos of Links send on email depending on Requirement. By clicking on that Particular Link , Action taken should be updated in sap.
URL Link is just like confirmation link send on our email id during user Registration on some Website or when we create our Gmail / Yahoo Account.Why not use the extended notifications? - it has an option to send links to approve/reject or any other option in the decision task and use a standard web service. See the document attached to note 1646056 - Workflow Quick Start Guide to Extended Notifications.

How to retrieve the username/password of logged user so to use web services
Hi Experts,
we are using web services from a web dynpro application, the web services we use are CAF web services; actually we are "hardcoding" username and password so to be able to execute these web services, using this code before calling the web service:
wdContext.currentRequest_ReporteDeRendicionDetallada_RElement().modelObject().setInvokerProperty(javax.xml.rpc.Stub.USERNAME_PROPERTY,"testuser");
wdContext.currentRequest_ReporteDeRendicionDetallada_RElement().modelObject().setInvokerProperty(javax.xml.rpc.Stub.PASSWORD_PROPERTY,"testpassword");
but as this is not a very good practice, we want to replace the "testuser" with the logged user and, of course, retrieve the password and use it instead of "testpassword".
How can we achieve this? I couldn´t find any tips on this.
Best regards,
Marco.Hello,
thanks for your anwsers, although I´ve followed both links I couldn´t find the answer to my problem.
I need to know how to retreive user and password from the UME of the portal so to be able to execute web services in the java stack, the UME is connected to a LDAP in our corporation.. so may be the passwords are not stored in the UME?
If it is not possible to retrieve the passwords of the users , which is the best practice to deal with username/passwords to execute CAF webservices from web dynpro java? Hardcoding is not a very good practice..
Best regards,
Marco. -
Adding a user using web services
Is it possible to add a user using web services? I am trying to do this using .net but I am getting errors. I was able to search and delete users!
I will look into this. The only thing is, I was able to update, remove and search users using web services in .net, but I don't understand why can't I add a user using the same web service? The method of creating a local user is available in the web service! I even tried adding a user and I get the following error:
org.xml.sax.SAXException: Unable to create JavaBean of type com.adobe.idp.um.api.infomodel.User. Missing default constructor? Error was: java.lang.InstantiationException: com.adobe.idp.um.api.infomodel.User.
doesn't this mean it is trying to create a user?

What is the best way to deploy application that uses web services?
Hi all,
I'm having some problems figuring out the best way to deploy our app now that we've switched over to using web services.
I'm fairly new to Java and web services. From what I understand, JNLP and WebStart are methods to deploy Java clients to users and not for creating war files and the like.
Here's a little background:
We have a large PowerBuilder/Oracle application. The db consists of over 500 tables and the client consists of several thousand PB components. A user creates "transactions" which contain a series of "sub-transactions" within. Most of the data is collected and stored locally in the client in a series of datastores. When the "finalize" happens, the records are validated and sent to the database.
We are in the process of moving each of the subtransactions (currently in the PB client) into subPROCESSES on a java project. We are using the JAX-WS framework to develop the web services in Netbeans. These web services aren't much more than remote xml as the messaging technology. For writing data back to the database, we are using the Java Persistence API to function outside of an EJB container but will shortly be migrating to the Glassfish application server to use several of the EJB container frameworks including the EntityManager.
We haven't attempted any type of deployment and are unsure of where to start. Any suggestions would be so helpful and appreciated!
Thanks!

It is for launching rich client GUI based (AWT, Swing, SWT..) applications onto the end-user's desktop.
There are some parts of JWS that might seem peripherally useful to the installation of a web-app., but it is really not a 'good fit'.

Or perhaps the forum 'Java Technologies for Web Services' (under 'enterprise technologies')

This one in 'BigAdmin' seems particularly relevant, 'Set up and Deploy'

How to integrate Microsoft and SAP using Web Services?
Hi All
How to integrate Microsoft and SAP using Web Services? If any one has document please send it to me. My id is [email protected]... Please
Help me
Best Regards
Ravi ShankarHi Ravi,
This is for Customizing Email and Other Web Services.
Create addresses
The address maintenance of R/3 users is carried out either via the R/3 User Maintenance (Transaction SU01) or the Private office settings (Transaction SO12):
Address --> Other communication...
Selection of the required communication service.
Enter address.
Copy or save.
b) Configuration of SAPconnect (Transaction SCOT)
Set communication method
4.0 + 4.5: Goto --> Customizing --> Communication methods
as of 4.6: Settings --> Communication methods
Set the method of the required communication service to the value 'SAPCONNECT' and save the setting.
Customized the same for Internet mailing.
C) If you want to Transfer Table Structure Values from SAP R/3 to Web Services then
1. Create BAPI and Transfer whichever things you want.(Note: The Structure
of BAPI should be similar to Web Structure (Datatypes).
2. Create a BDC and Schedule it in the Background.
Hope it helps you, Awaiting for the Reward Points.
Thanks

Can you create a Adobe DPS app that use Web Services
I'm looking to create a DPS app that uses web services to pass data to and from a web server when the user has an internet connection, but when the user is offline stores data locally until an internet connection is established and then passes the locally stored data to the web server. Is this possible with DPS/
It's challenging but it's possible. Hint: local storage.

Siebel integration using Web Service
Hi,
We are in the process of integrating Siebel with external systems using web service. We also use the Virtual business component with customer business service. After web service call, it return Siebel property set in format of XML, we need parse the XML (property set) to populate data into VBC fields in order to display data in user interface.
It seems that writing custom XML parsing script is not very desired as so many fields are involved in the integration object. We just wondering if there is any other better ways to populate data into VBC with out using escript since the integration object created by importing WSDL already listed all integration fields. Can data returned by Web service call directly populated the VBC fields through the integration object?
Thanks
SteveEffectively what you're looking at doing here is taking your external content (from the Web Service) and then converting that into the very specific Property Set format that a VBC requires.
The EAI Data Transformation Engine is your friend here as it should let you perform the (hopefully simple) transformation between the two, although you'll also need to define the property set as an Integration Object (an External One to keep the additional envelopes created to a minimum) and then after the DTE has been called take a careful look to make sure everything is the way that it should be.
Put all these parts into a workflow itself, and use the workflow to call the external web service and that should cut to a minimum the code you'll need in the VBC.

Performance impact of using Web Services?
As BEA and other vendors continue to add Web Services support
to their enterprise software, what is your plan for
quantifying the performance impact and the functional
correctness of using web services before going live with the
final application?
Empirix is hosting a free one hour web event discussion on
web services testing and automated web services testing
solutions on Thursday, January 17, 2-3pm Eastern time.
To sign-up for this web event or learn about other web
events being offering by Empirix this month, go to:
http://webevents.empirix.com
For your convenience, here is the complete abstract:
The advent of web services has brought the promises of
integrating multiple software applications from
heterogeneous networks and for exchanging information
from vendor-to-vendor or vendor-to-consumer in a
standardized way.
As web service technologies are deployed within and across
organizations over the next several years, it will be
critical that web services undergo performance testing.
As with any enterprise software project, the adoption of
proper test methodologies and use of testing tools will
play a key part in the overall success or failure of
projects utilizing web services. In a compressed
software project schedule, an organization must
quickly determine if its web services will operate
successfully under a variety of load conditions. Like other
web-based technologies, successful web services will need
to respond quickly and correctly when implemented.
During our presentation, we will discuss the testing
challenges created by this emerging technology, along with
the variety of testing solutions available. Automated
web service testing will be discussed and demonstrated
using FirstACT, the first web services performance testing solution available
on the market. Using a sample web
service, automatic test case creation, scalability testing,
and results analysis will be explored.
